  3. Starting strips mounted at the bottom of the structure (the number depends on the length of the lathing timber).
  4. Outside corners to hide corner joints siding.
  5. Fasteners (anchors with dowels, self-tapping screws).
  6. Sill strips.
  7. Installation tool: grinder with discs for metal and wood, a hammer drill with a set of peaks and drills, a level, a screwdriver with nozzles, screwdrivers, hammers.

Installation of siding outside the balcony

Sheathing begins with the installation of the wooden lathing. In houses of type P 44 from 9 to 16 floors, therefore high-altitude work do it yourself with strict adherence to all safety rules.

Important! If the siding is planned to be installed in a vertical position, then the lathing is mounted horizontally and vice versa!

To do this, in the corners of the balcony using anchor bolts racks from timber... The nuts will help to better secure the batten from the inside. Then, along the upper and lower edges of the structure, are installed horizontal bars... Now you can attach the vertical posts of the battens.

The walls of the balcony are sheathed with plastic panels

Wall and ceiling cladding with PVC panels

Before starting work, you must prepare the following materials:

  1. Wooden beam 20x20 for the installation of the lathing (the number of square meters is calculated from the area of the room).
  2. Polyfoam or penofol for wall and ceiling insulation.
  3. PVC panels: U-shaped profile, H-profile, F-profile (width: 0.250, 0.3, 0.5 m; length: 5.9, 2.95 and 2.6 m). For precise definition the number of parts for repair, we measure the perimeter of the room and divide by the selected panel width.
  4. Polyurethane foam.
  5. Self-tapping screws with a press washer and wood.
  6. Tool: hammer drill with victorious drills, grinder with discs for metal and wood, screwdrivers, hammers, screwdriver.

Installation of battens for covering the balcony with plastic panels

The first step is to mount wooden lathing on the principle of exterior decoration with vinyl siding with horizontal rails. Insert foam sheets into the spaces between the frame, securing them with dowels. Then the starting corner panel is installed in the corner of the balcony where it is most difficult to work.

Each subsequent panel is inserted into the previous one using special grooves. Use the F-profile to go around the corners of the balcony. In places where the wall meets the ceiling, we install ceiling skirting boards... The damping profile is installed at the end of the work.

Installation of floors

To choose a flooring option, you need to proceed from the tools and materials available. Most in an easy way Do-it-yourself floor installation in P 44 type houses is a typical elevation and insulation. To do this, you need to prepare:

  • Screwdriver.
  • A grinder with a disc for wood or an electric jigsaw.
  • Dowels 80 mm.
  • Plywood or chipboard in 20 mm.
  • Wooden beams 40x40 mm.
  • Self-tapping screws for wood.
  • Polyfoam or penofol 30 mm thick.
  • Tape measure, pencil, screwdriver, hammers, level.

Installation of underfloor heating on the balcony

A perforator drills holes for attaching a roughing bar along the entire length of the room. We measure the width of the balcony (in houses of type P 44 it is 105 cm) and cut beams of 40x40 mm to the corresponding size minus 1-2 cm. They are laid and mounted at a distance of 40 cm from each other. Then we drill through holes and fix with 80 mm dowels.

The formed cells are tightly packed with foam. Make sure that no gaps are formed. Foil is laid on top. Using a level, evenly expose the layers of plywood. If necessary, add another layer of foam or foam foam. Now it remains to paint the floor in your favorite color. This completes the repair of the balcony floor.

Glazing

Balcony glazing is the final stage of DIY repair. In houses of type P 44 the most suitable option is the installation of double-glazed windows. You need to order windows from a trusted manufacturer. First of all, you need to take measurements. To do this, remove the old window frames up to the base of the parapet and top floor... Now we measure the distance between the walls and from the parapet to the ceiling. We manufacture windows according to the received technical data.

For self-assembly metal plastic windows you will need:

  • Ready-made frames with double-glazed windows.
  • Drill or hammer drill with 140 mm victorious drills.
  • Self-tapping screws with plastic dowels.
  • Screwdriver.
  • Polyurethane foam.
  • Roulette, level, screwdrivers.

Installation of metal-plastic windows on the balcony

So, before installing the windows, we remove the glass unit from the frames. Frames are inserted into the window opening, where the points of future holes are marked. V drilled holes insert plastic dowels. Then we mount the frame using self-tapping screws, screwing them into the dowels. All cracks are sealed with foam. Then we install the double-glazed windows, fixing them with a plastic strip. We attach the swing-out sashes.

In many modern panel and brick houses balconies are equipped, and many owners are engaged in their repair and improvement at the very end, when already all redecorating all premises of the apartment are already finished.

Loggia can be an excellent addition to a well-maintained apartment, because on it you can make a greenhouse or organize a home office, as well as make for your child playroom... There is no such thing as extra square meters in our time, and therefore you need to take seriously all issues related to the repair and improvement of the loggia.

A well-equipped loggia will add coziness to your apartment

What are the steps to start the improvement of the loggia?

First you need to think about glazing your loggia, picking up (if possible) four openable windows, of which two are required for glazing the front of the balcony frame, and two windows are needed for glazing the left and right parts of the loggia. Is it possible to carry out glazing on your own?

Loggia glazing

For ventilation, it is better to have frames with opening sashes. To install a balcony frame, you will need a hammer drill, a screwdriver, bits, building level, as well as basic knowledge of working with it.

Requirements for windows for a loggia:

  • reliability;
  • strength;
  • long operational period;
  • resistance to precipitation, wind gusts;
  • fire resistance.

There are two main options for glazing a loggia: "warm" and "cold". With cold glazing, only external protection loggias from various precipitations, objects that can "fall" onto your loggia from the upper floors. When choosing warm glazing means protection from high and low temperatures, noise, wind.

The most common modern materials that can be used for glazing balcony loggias are plastic, wood, and aluminum structures... The choice of material for glazing a balcony loggia directly depends on climatic conditions.

Features of window frames for a loggia

The optimal material for glazing a loggia is considered a natural tree of oak, larch, pine. These types of wood are resistant to the decay process, which cannot be said about fir, spruce, hornbeam, beech. It is not customary to install balcony frames in a special wooden box, as is done when installing room frames, since they independently bear a mechanical and functional load.

There are some features in the installation of wooden balcony frames, which should be described in more detail:

    Wooden frames. The balcony frames are placed on a prepared wooden beam, which is placed instead of the balcony handrail. To strengthen the upper parts of the frames, use wooden wedges, fasten them to the balcony slab from above. To securely fix the balcony frames, use a fastening to a solid metal frame... The most common section of wooden beams used for fastening balcony frames is considered to be 50x50 mm.

    In addition to ordinary glasses in Lately v wooden frames they began to install double-glazed windows. Option for glazing a balcony loggia using wooden double-glazed windows consider the maximum budget option.

    The average cost of such a glazing of a loggia is 12,000-15,000 rubles, depending on the size of its size, as well as on the type of wood. You can protect the windows.

    Aluminum frames. This option for improving the loggia allows you to get strong, beautiful, durable window structures. The aluminum profile has excellent rigidity, does not undergo atmospheric corrosion, and does not rot. Windows made of aluminum profiles visually increase the space of the loggia.

    Among negative characteristics aluminum balcony windows use can be mentioned single chamber profiles that do not contain special heat-insulating inserts. Aluminum profiles cannot be used for "warm" glazing of balcony frames, therefore, such windows are not suitable for harsh climatic conditions.

    On average, the cost of glazing a loggia, involving the installation of sliding aluminum frames, is 14,500-30,000 rubles.

    Reinforced-plastic and plastic windows. Among the advantages modern plastic front natural wood can be called an opportunity. The profile is a line PVC products which is produced by extrusion with the right dimensions and sectional shapes. The inner space of the PVC profile is filled with stiffeners (transverse bridges). Similar air chambers provide sound-proof and heat-insulating characteristics of plastic windows. A durable metal profile is placed inside the PVC profile.

    In a double-glazed unit, several glasses are connected, which are hermetically connected to each other. The most common are white metal-plastic windows... Such frames have a minimal cost, harmoniously fit into any interior. The cost of a colored profile will be 10-15 percent more expensive than a similar white one. To obtain colored PVC windows, acrylic colored film or lamination is used.

    To increase the thermal insulation characteristics, it is better to purchase double-glazed windows with 3-5 glasses. During installation window frames it is important to choose the right mounting foam, with its help, window blocks are sealed. In addition, to perform isolation (with outside) recommend purchasing a self-expanding sealing tape.

    On average, the cost of glazing a loggia with metal-plastic frames will be 19,000-24,000 rubles, depending on the type of glass unit and the quality of the metal profile.

    Can be used for glazing a loggia or balcony Finnish technology, involving the creation glass solid wall.

    Among the advantages of this option for glazing a loggia are visual expansion space, the penetration of a significant amount of light into the room.

    The disadvantage of such balcony frames is the impossibility of airing, as well as instability to strong precipitation, mechanical damage.

    This glazing option can hardly be called budget, for each loggia its own design is selected, which increases the cost of window frames. If you wish, you can order swing-out, swing-out, or swing-out frames, it all depends on your desire and material capabilities.

    What kind of lighting to make on the loggia

    Whether to make additional lighting on the loggia is up to you. Among the budget options are mounted Spotlights... If you have a sufficient budget for repairing the loggia, you can equip and make decorative interior lighting.

    Balcony wiring diagram

    Some owners of city apartments do not make additional lighting on the loggia, they consider such expenses to be an inexpedient waste of money, although in the most banal cases (hang up the washed linen or get a jar with seams from the locker) it is necessary.

    In order to keep the heat on the loggia in cold weather, and also not to let it inside in the summer, you will need sheathing with heat-insulating materials:

    • Floor. A frame is being built from a wooden beam 50x50 mm, in the intervals between which it is filled mineral wool, penoplex or polystyrene;
    • Walls and ceiling. A frame is also made, however, with small size loggias, the dimensions of the timber are slightly reduced in comparison with the floor. You can use the same materials.

    Mineral wool requires good vapor barrier

    The main task when insulating a loggia is to ensure good filling of all existing joints and cracks polyurethane foam... Also, for hydro- and thermal insulation, a layer of foil-clad stenofon is laid on top of the insulation layer.

If you are renovating the whole apartment, then of course you have to repair the balcony, the advantage of which is that it can be used as an additional room. uniqueness. Balconies or loggias can turn into anything: a flower greenhouse, which will delight with its colors even in frosty winter, a children's room where kids will be happy to play or a work workshop with many shelves and cabinets where dad will place tools and equipment. It is mounted in aluminum profile using rollers. The glasses are separated from the profiles by rubber seals that do not allow water to pass through.
  • Warm glazing. Glazing in a warm way is the installation of double-glazed windows and profiles equipped with thermal protection. This option protects against street noise. The frame with warm glazing is made of aluminum or plastic. It is attached to the parapet with bolts.

Balcony glazing - not only The best way provide additional protection of the house from wind, moisture and heat loss, but also an excellent opportunity to expand the useful space of the apartment

Thermal insulation for the floor

Before renovating the balcony, giving it a certain style, it is necessary to insulate the floors. This is best served by extruded polystyrene foam, which, in addition to the high performance of its main function, has other positive qualities.

  • Styrofoam sheets are glued to the floor slab or inserted into the roof opening.
  • Additionally, the insulation should be secured with umbrella dowels.
  • The slots are blown out with polyurethane foam.
  • The main frame for finishing is attached to the contour crate.

Little trick: find out if the tenants have insulated their balcony floor on top. If they did this, the ceiling of your balcony will not let the cold through, and you no longer need to insulate it.

Step 3.

Step 4. Now let's move on to the floors. The surest, inexpensive and practical way is to concreting the surface. Although connoisseurs of the ecological type of materials can use wooden products(logs and boards). Decorating the balcony with your own hands

Features of decorating a loggia and balcony

Despite the external similarity of loggias and balconies, these elements of the building have different design, operating modes. Let's look at how a loggia differs from a balcony:

  • balcony - working space created by a slab cantilevered into the massif of the bearing wall, the heat loss is huge, it makes no sense to insulate the parapet, the side walls - with a thin layer of mineral wool, expanded polystyrene, money will be spent in vain; Matchbox», The budget will not be spent rationally;
  • loggia - the slab rests on the side walls running along all floors, it is much easier to insulate the room, but it is forbidden to connect from central system heating, the owner in such a situation is subject to a serious fine;

The floors are usually raised by laying the joists on which the laminate is attached, batten or a plywood sub-base, decorated with vinyl tiles, linoleum, cork. Screeds for porcelain stoneware, linoleum, self-leveling floors on balconies are not recommended, since they unnecessarily load the slab, reduce its resource, although they are often offered by repair companies.

When decorating vertical surfaces, the most popular is to decorate the balcony with your own hands with clapboard or any other lengthy materials - MDF panels, PVC, block house, siding. Less commonly used fake diamond, GVL sheets for painting. The ceiling is leveled with putty or sheathed with the specified facing.

At the design stage before purchasing decorative materials it should be noted that some of them emit harmful substances, unpleasant odors, increase in size when heated. Therefore, from the parapet, side walls, vinyl panels, flexible stone, siding PVC is better separate with foil roll materials (reflective layer outward).

Balcony finishing technology

All of the above decorative finishes fastened to frames made of timber or galvanized profiles. Timber is cheaper, but warps when seasonal humidity changes. Therefore, for a stable geometry of the planes of the cladding, a lathing from the profile used in gypsum plasterboard systems is recommended.

For the floor, the budget option for the lag is a timber, a solution with a much higher resource is adjustable floors.

When choosing a wall covering, consider:

  • panels are usually placed vertically on the walls, the profile behind them is horizontal;
  • the lining can be fixed as you like, including at an angle;
  • siding, block house are mounted horizontally on vertical posts, in the first case, this is required by technology, in the second, the visual perception of the cladding that imitates the crowns of a log house is not disturbed;
  • flexible stone is produced in the form, therefore, it is placed on the walls, according to the drawing of the front part.

GVL sheets are attached according to standard technology, the seams are reinforced with serpyanka, the surface is leveled with putty, painted in a convenient color. The crate is covered with foil film material around the perimeter, insulation on the loggias is laid inside the frames. The wiring for lighting is laid in a corrugation or created from a cable in fireproof insulation.

Attention! All options interior decoration by default, they are only possible with glazing, parapets made of durable construction materials, or metal racks. External cladding is not covered in this manual.

Lining and block house

When decorating a balcony with your own hands with clapboard, it is recommended to use kleimers - curved brackets that press the strips in the lock joints. Nails, self-tapping screws split sawn timber, reduce the resource, the aesthetic value of the decorative coating.

The lathing pattern is different:

  • lining - a bar, the profile is attached to the outer wall of the building, to the parapets horizontally, the cladding is installed vertically, fixed with clamps, locks into each other;

  • block house - hung on vertical posts, also fastened with clamps, located horizontally;

Places of mates ( inner corners) are decorated with wooden fillets on the side walls, along the perimeter of the ceiling, plinth around the perimeter of the floor. Then the lumber is impregnated with linseed oil, wax, oil, opened with 2 layers of varnish or painted.

Decorating the balcony with your own hands with siding, vinyl or MDF panels absolutely identical to decorating a loggia with clapboard. However, it is necessary to lay a continuous layer of foamed polymeric foam under the cladding. roll material(for example, Isoflex, Penofol). The reflective layer must face outward to prevent the cladding from heating up in summer.

Siding installation

Manufacturers of vinyl panels, siding produce a variety of additional elements that allow high-quality sealing, masking joints, mates load-bearing walls... Wide panels without chamfers and seams are preferable, since they have maximum hygiene, are easy to clean, and do not collect dust.

GVL for painting

A budget option for decorating the interior of the loggia is the sewing of walls, parapets with sheets of moisture-resistant gypsum fiber board, painting water-based paint after leveling the joints with putty. The material is intended for waste-free cutting; large surfaces are covered with one sheet. If necessary, you can paste over the walls with tiles, PVC tiles, wallpaper.

At any stage of operation, vertical planes can be repainted in a different color. GKLV is attached to uprights self-tapping screws, the heads of which are recessed inside the fiber. The pits are putty together with the joints, the surfaces are perfectly flat. This is the only construction and finishing material from which niches and shelves can be made, increasing the comfort of using the loggia.

When using flexible stone, the working space of the balcony does not decrease. The material is analogous to wallpaper - an adhesive layer, quartz sand or crumb is applied to the textile base natural stone(sandstone, dolomite, marble, granite). The thickness of the cladding is 3 - 5 mm, it weighs much more than wallpaper, so a special glue is needed.

Flexible stone allows you to get seamless coatings using the technology:

  • the surfaces of walls, ceilings, parapets are pasted over with canvases;
  • the joints are warmed up with a construction hairdryer;
  • a special mixture is laid on them, similar to covering a flexible stone.

After leveling with a spatula and hardening of the layer, the coating is homogeneous. This option is more expensive, when insulating the walls, they are first pasted over with polystyrene foam, putty adhesive composition, only after that they are decorated with a flexible stone.
