Do-it-yourself sliding wardrobe in the hallway. Do-it-yourself manufacturing steps for a built-in wardrobe, everything in detail. How to correctly measure and calculate

Sometimes the assortment in stores is striking in its monotony. Many apartment owners know that picking up furniture in the hallway is very difficult. If the room is small, then the cabinets simply do not fit in it, or they fill all the free space with themselves. But the owners of spacious hallways also find themselves in a difficult situation - the models presented do not always meet the needs of the owners and often look big room ridiculous.

If you can't choose matching wardrobe, then do not worry and think about creating perfect furniture for the hallway with their own hands. This approach will help save money, as well as get a model that suits you in all its parameters.

Will a beginner be able to cope with such a task? home master"? Yes, the desire and availability of all the necessary tools and materials will lead you to a positive result. Of course, it is better for inexperienced craftsmen to dwell on the simplest models. But those who have not been making furniture for the first time can create a real work of art.

To make it easier for you to deal with complex work, we have prepared special instructions, drawings and diagrams.

How to make a hallway with your own hands?

First you need to decide on the model and size. If we are talking about a tiny room, you should not overload it with furniture - use a standard hallway with a small compartment for outerwear, shoes and necessary things.

In the spacious hallway you can place spacious wardrobe. If the area allows, then such a closet can easily turn into a real one - the dream of every woman. The cost of implementing such complex project increase in proportion to the size and filling of the cabinet.

You can also consider an option that will be a compromise between spaciousness and appearance. So, the corner hallways visually look much smaller. But at the same time, the large depth allows you to place a lot of things inside.

Having chosen a suitable model, you can start taking measurements and preparing calculations. Also be sure that you have all the tools that the masters use.

Necessary materials and tools

Prepare in advance:

  • saw or jigsaw,
  • screwdriver,
  • sandpaper,
  • construction knife,
  • furniture screws,
  • roulette,
  • corners,
  • loops.

You will also need hallway material. We recommend that you give preference for furniture board because it is made from natural ingredients without the use of synthetic resins. Such a shield is completely safe for the health of people living in the house. However, this material has a high cost.

More popular common chipboard. It contains bonding resins, which can adversely affect the occupants of the house if the edges of the laminated board are not covered with piping. But at the same time, the material is relatively low price and excellent performance (easy to work with).

Do-it-yourself standard hallway: instructions, diagrams and drawings

To make such a simple hallway, you will need the following materials:

  • loops - 12 pcs,
  • furniture panels - 7 pcs (dimensions 1600x400x18 mm),
  • piece of plywood 6 mm,
  • grooved boards - 2 pcs (dimensions 2000x240x18 mm),
  • furniture handles - 6 pcs,
  • three-dimensional rail - 1 piece (dimensions 3000x40x12).

We recommend you start with pencil. Its dimensions are 2000x400x400 mm. The corresponding planks are cut out of the furniture shield, as well as the top cover at the rate of "overlap". Also need two shelves. The assembly is pretty simple. The slats are arranged in parallel and fastened in the lid with self-tapping screws, shelves are also installed. For strength in the corners, the frame is fixed with corners cut from plywood.

Since two doors located one below the other are much lighter than one, this option is preferable. From the shield you need to cut two identical doors and several internal shelves (optional). Hinge the doors. You can get by with two for each door, but for reliability and proper weight distribution, we recommend using three.

The dimensions of one pedestal are 400x400x820, and the other - 820x400x490 mm. You can refuse any of them without prejudice to the design as a whole.

To assemble the first cabinet you will need 2 identical sidewalls and an inner shelf that will hold the structure together from below. The upper part of the future cabinet is very narrow, so the lid should be noticeably smaller than the main part. All elements are fastened with self-tapping screws. If desired, you can use furniture dowels. Remember to pre-drill holes and use glue.

A door for a nightstand is cut out of the shield; it must be fixed on two hinges. But for drawer skids are needed. We recommend that you purchase the necessary items from a specialized store. You can make your own out of plywood, but in this case the box will pull out instead of roll out, which will make it much more difficult to use.

Making a second cabinet is very easy.. You only need two sides and 2 inner shelves that form the frame. Internal filling this cabinet can be absolutely anything. All parts are attached to self-tapping screws or dowels.

After that, the hallway needs to be assembled. Fasten all the elements together, and then prepare the boards. They should be beautifully located from the edge of the pencil case to the edge of the cabinet, creating the basis for the hanger. Keep the same step when attaching the boards to the wrong side of the nightstands. To ensure that the structure is also strong in the upper part, fasten the boards with a rail. Place it at such a height that later you can attach hooks for outerwear to the rail. If desired, you can supplement the design with a shelf for hats.

Do not forget to open the hallway with varnish, attach handles and hooks.

Do-it-yourself wardrobe: instructions, diagrams and drawings

It's a lot easier to do than it might seem. But first you need to define the exact meaning of this term. "Sliding wardrobe" involves a special design of doors that move along the skids along the cabinet body. It can be either built-in or freestanding.

If you wish, you you can make a drywall cabinet body and thus hide it in a false wall. But we will consider classical scheme production of a sliding wardrobe with lateral walls.

This model with dimensions 2020x625x2320 consists of several main parts.

  • The side racks must be 2288x625 mm high (in these calculations, the thickness of the sheets of the upper and lower strips is taken into account - 32 mm).
  • Also large details are the bottom and top bars: 2020x625 mm.
  • Middle vertical racks are inextricably linked with the clothes rail. As a rule, it is mounted at a height of 1900 mm, so standard size for them - height 1900 mm, width 525 mm. The remaining 100 mm is a margin for normal operation sliding doors.

The filling of the cabinet can be any. It all depends on your desires and preferences, but remember that there should be a margin inside to accommodate mounting systems.

All parts are best ordered from a carpentry workshop. Cut out elements desired shape at home, even an experienced master will not always be able to.

After that you can start assembling the cabinet. For installation, we recommend using not only screws and dowels, but also furniture corners. The rails are installed inside the cabinet in a specially designated area (those 100mm that we left when preparing parts). After that, you can put the door in place and use the cabinet.

Do-it-yourself corner hallway: instructions, diagrams and drawings

Problem when creating corner hallway, is that careful calculations are required, the slightest mistake can cost a whole sheet of material. First you need to take measurements and check the walls. If the surface of the walls is curved, then you cannot do without a common frame. Otherwise, the walls themselves can serve as a base for you to screw the shelves to. The second option is more economical and easier, but we will consider a separate cabinet, since it is ideal smooth walls- that's great rarity.

Choose the right drawing, based on the size of the room, the length of the walls and the proximity doorways. Think about the interior of the closet. According to the chosen dimensions, make six main body elements:

  • top and bottom bars
  • rear walls (2 pcs),
  • side walls (you can do without them, but the functionality of the cabinet will decrease).

Once you have the frame assembled, you can begin installing the interior shelves, baskets and drawers, as well as the hooks and rods.

The corner hallway can be equipped with roller doors, turning the structure into corner wardrobe. But budget swing doors will also look good.

How to make a hallway with your own hands: video

The theater starts with a hanger, and the apartment starts with a closet in the hallway. It's the first thing you see and the first thing you need. Functionality and aesthetics - that's what this furniture should combine. And if the owner of the apartment is fond of self-manufacturing things, he will have a great opportunity to show his skills from the doorway.

Materials and tools:
1. Furniture legs up to 50 mm high.
2. Self-tapping screws 4x16.
3. Laminated chipboard, the thickness of which is 16mm.
4. Painted hardboard.
5. 0.5mm malamine edge with adhesive backing.
6. Facade can be customized, lightweight version. It should consist of an aluminum frame with a sample for three hinges. A full-length mirror is inserted into the frame. You can’t do without a frame, as the cabinet will come out too heavy.
7. Iron.
8. A more powerful screwdriver with a set of drills, bits. Among the bits there should be a hexagon for confirmations.
9. Confirmations 5x70 mm.
10. Hammer.
11. Right angle, tape measure.
12. Pencil.
13. Loops internal internal four-hinged in the amount of 5 pieces. Two of them will fall on the nightstand for shoes, the rest - on the large door.
14. Retractable rod 400 mm long. It will be mounted on a shelf at the bottom of the cabinet.
15. Hooks and special handles - are selected depending on the taste and needs of the master.

Operating procedure:
Most likely, without special training, it will not be possible to cut a chipboard with high quality, therefore it is recommended to contact a master who has a special machine for this purpose. You will need both a circular high-speed saw and a disk with victorious soldering, and this is unlikely to be found at home. You can also contact the building supermarket. In total, you will need 2 sidewalls, the back of the open part, the bottom and top of the structure, the top cover for the shoe cabinet, the shelf, the sidewall and the door of the cabinet, the shelf of the open part, the back wall. The dimensions are taken to be minimal in order to fit even in the hallway of the Khrushchev, but at the same time normal in order to fit clothes with shoes in the closet. The master should be aware of what parameters will be needed.

But you can already glue the finished parts with an edge yourself. To do this, you need a hot, but not red-hot iron. It is applied gently, but with confident movements. While the edge has not cooled down, it is important to press it, stroking the edges with a dry cloth - this is necessary for better contact. The excess is cut off, the edges of the parts are polished.

Now the cabinet is assembled. It is absolutely not difficult to do this for someone who has held tools in his hands at least once in his life.

The shelf in the cabinet must be placed approximately 30 mm higher than the open shelf. This procedure is important to avoid matching fasteners.

Details for confirmations are drilled in advance both into the end face of the part and into the plane. All screeds are made for confirmations. The holes will need through 8 mm in diameter, and in the end of the parts - 5 mm, 60 mm deep. When marking, it is necessary to focus on critical details - facades, back of the open part and sidewalls. In this case, it will be very difficult to make a mistake.

The hardboard is fastened with self-tapping screws, but if there is little free time left, you can get by with nails. In any case, it is extremely important to observe the rectangularity of the structure as a whole.

Here is the wardrobe for the hallway and ready! It will fit not only clothes, but also shoes, hats. This thing will perfectly save space and, made by yourself, will fit into any interior.

A mandatory attribute of any hallway is a comfortable, functional closet.

If you have experience in carpentry, you can make a piece of furniture with your own hands.

This will help save money and create a wardrobe that will become an interior decoration.

In addition, the entrance hall is the first room that your guests notice. And your masterpiece can become its main decoration!

Before developing a wardrobe project, it is necessary to clearly define what items it is intended for and how many things will be stored. Take into account the dimensions of the room.

Kinds

The main purpose of the closet in the hallway is to store shoes and clothes, hats and even household appliances. There are the following types of wardrobes:

  • free standing. Roomy and massive, fully equipped: there are walls, ceilings, floors, doors. The design is easy to disassemble and carry;
  • corner. Suitable for small rectangular and square rooms. The back wall can be designed for various shelves;
  • built-in. Have internal partitions, side doors and walls, shelves. There are no back walls or ceilings.

For one person or a small family, a one-door wardrobe is enough. The number of sections is two. The internal filling should include shelves for shoes or shoe boxes, drawers for hats and small wardrobe items, stands for hats and umbrellas. You need crossbars for hangers and hooks for everyday clothes, and a mirror is a must.

When creating a schema must be taken into account:

  • the width of the shelves is about 80-90 cm. If the room is very small, you can make narrow shelves from 40 cm;
  • the crossbar for hangers must be placed across the cabinet;
  • the height of the wardrobe for the top of clothes is at least 140 cm;
  • must have decorative shelves for little things.

V large hallways have two-door or three-door wardrobes. They are convenient to store not only seasonal shoes, hats and accessories, but also bed linen, towels, magazines. The width of the shelves is variable - from 40 cm or more. The height between them is from 250 to 350 mm.

Important! The greater the depth of the shelves, the greater the distance between them and vice versa.

Scheme and drawing

During the drawing up of the scheme, it is necessary to take measurements of the details and draw everything on paper.

reference. certain rules no diagramming. It is advisable to make a cabinet project according to ready-made drawings, which are easy to find on the Internet. And you can draw a sketch of the future product yourself, carefully considering all the details.

According to the drawings, sawing of the material will be carried out.

Circuit development sequence:

  1. Determine the dimensions of the cabinet, taking into account the placement. Standard length material for the walls is usually 277 cm (based on the size of the ceiling of the apartment).
  2. sketch general form products.
  3. Divide the interior space into vertical and horizontal sections.
  4. Decide which compartments to install the boxes.
  5. Determine the dimensions of the doors of the sections that will be closed (if any), the location of the mezzanines.

It is necessary to outline the ends for gluing the furniture edge tape, to select the fittings. Mark all dimensions on the drawing. To facilitate the task, you can use a free computer design program - for example, SweetHome 3D.

According to the selected dimensions, you need to prepare 6 important body parts:

  • top and bottom bars;
  • back walls (2 pieces);
  • side walls (not required if we are talking about a built-in wardrobe).

As side panels, rear panel, bottom and cabinet lid the walls of the apartment and the floor can be used. This will help save on materials.

Important! If the walls are made of drywall, this solution is not acceptable.

What to make to be cheap and beautiful?

The construction market offers a wide range of materials with which it is possible to realize any design solution. It is not necessary to make a cabinet from solid wood. It is expensive and difficult to process. It is better to buy practical inexpensive materials that are easy to work with.

Laminated chipboard panelsbest option for making a piece of furniture with your own hands.

Chipboard advantages:

  • affordable cost;
  • strength and reliability;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • ease of processing.

wood boards lightweight, so do not need fittings or reinforced fasteners. A wide selection of textures will allow you to realize any design ideas.

plywood sheets strong, lightweight and dimensionally stable. The material is several times cheaper than wood.

MDF panels are analogous to chipboard, and are inferior to them in terms of fiber pattern and quality. Such furniture is less expensive. On sale there are MDF with imitation of precious woods.

Advantages:

  • easy processing;
  • fire resistance;
  • moisture resistance (material does not swell);
  • ample opportunities for creating furniture.

Wood fiber boards have excellent performance. For the manufacture of load-bearing structures Cabinet suitable for medium or high density fiberboard.

The facade of the wardrobe can be made of wood, glass or chipboard, MDF sheets. Suitable laminated panels with a mirror or regular surface, with tinted auto film.

When choosing a material, take into account financial possibilities. If the budget allows, you can make a wardrobe from natural wood. The most durable is mahogany. Alternative options are beech, Karelian birch.

You need to purchase the necessary accessories:

  • end hangers;
  • euro screws with plugs;
  • handles for doors and drawers;
  • drawer guides.

The number and type will depend on the number of sections, drawers in the closet.

Important. The fittings must be High Quality to keep the door from jamming.

Tools

Before starting work, it is advisable to prepare everything in advance necessary tools and inventory. Namely:

  • tape measure or ruler;
  • pencil or marker;
  • glue;
  • edge tape;
  • ratchet;
  • screwdriver or drill;
  • pliers.

If you plan to cut the blanks for the cabinet at home, you will need an electric jigsaw.

Step-by-step instruction

Blanks

Sawing parts is carried out according to the finished drawings. If you have experience, you can handle this yourself. But after sawing the material with a jigsaw, chips may form.

expedient turn to professionals for cutting blanks. The sheets will be cut beautifully and precisely, and there will be no jagged edges on the edges.

After cutting the parts, edging is carried out with furniture PVC tape. The edge is glued with an iron heated to a certain temperature.

Build Description

Pre-marking for fasteners with maximum accuracy.

Important! The holes for the fastening elements should be located strictly in the middle of the thickness of the end of the workpiece, since the confirmations are screwed into the end.

Install the bottom and walls of the cabinet according to the scheme:

  1. Check the accuracy of the dimensions, put the walls and bottom in place.
  2. Holes are made to fix the base and partition in the center.
  3. Fix the plinth and the central partition. Confirmates are screwed to the bottom of the side walls. To protect them from moisture from the side of the part that rests on the floor, a waterproof profile is used.
  4. Mount the upper shelves to stiffen the frame. For reinforcement, a back wall is installed.

Important! To fix the cover, a screwdriver will not work. Fasteners are baited manually using pliers. Additionally, tighten with a ratchet or hex wrench.

Proceed to the installation of side shelves. They are fixed with four confirmations (2 on each side).

If the side shelf is flush with inner shelf or the bottom confirmations cannot be used.

Fasten with dowels - wooden cylinders. They are inserted into pre-prepared recesses in the wall and pushed into the same holes in the shelf.

Assembly of doors begins with the installation of the back door. The level checks whether the cabinet is accurately exposed. The upper level is fixed by placing 2 supports and a running lower profile on it. To assemble the rear door, you will need a set of accessories:

  • rear door track roller with and without trunnions;
  • 2 tailgate corners;
  • 8 screws 4x25;
  • 10 screws 4x16;
  • 6 screws;
  • sealant.

If glass or mirror insertion is envisaged, install segments of the seal along the length of the dividing profile. When mounting parts from chipboard, a sealant is not needed.

When assembling the door, the inserts are placed on the foam with the front side so as not to damage. Glass or a mirror is installed in a horizontal dividing profile. When mounting two glasses, the sealant is placed on both sides.

The combined door is assembled using dividing profiles. A sealant is required at the joints with glass. Basic door profile attached to both sides of the door. If it is made of chipboard, use 4x25 screws. To the connecting profile is fixed with screws using a screwdriver.

Important! One profile is fixed in a horizontal position. The second - according to the vertical arrangement of the door.

The profile handle is installed on both sides, directing the bend to the front side, controlling the tightness of the joints. If necessary, they are knocked out with a mallet and the mates are aligned along the entire length. The restrictive sealing corner of the rear door, the track roller without pins, is mounted on the side of the profile handle.

Hanging the rear door is carried out on the running profile and go to the front. Prepare the same set of fittings as for the back door. The assembly of the front door of the cabinet is carried out in the above sequence.

At the final stage, hangers and baskets are installed on the side walls. Check the functionality of the doors. They must open and close without extraneous sounds and easily.

Conclusion

Thus, making a closet in the hallway with your own hands is a responsible and painstaking work that is done in stages. Choose a product design; determine the content; make measurements, draw up a diagram and drawing; buy materials; make blanks of parts and assemble the cabinet.

In contact with

As you know, in the modern market there are many furniture manufacturing companies that offer a wide range of products, for example, wardrobes that are popular and necessary in everyday life. On the one hand, you can purchase this option at any store, entrusting its assembly to experienced craftsmen. On the other hand, a thing made by oneself is a much greater value and pride for the owner.

Let the maximum amount of time and effort be spent on this, but one cannot but agree that a do-it-yourself wardrobe will ideally meet the household needs of the owner of the house.

Deciding on the type

If you design the installation of a wardrobe in the hallway, it is important to take into account the fact that in many apartments it is small, rectangular in shape. Unlike the hinged doors of a conventional wardrobe, sliding compartment doors will save space in the best possible way.

Saving free space is important in any room, not only in the corridor, but also in the bedroom, which should always remain a zone comfortable rest and order. If the height, at the same time, is made up to the ceiling, the usually empty space will be used with maximum benefit.

In the corner zone of the dwelling, depending on the characteristics of its total area, can accommodate unusual and roomy radius wardrobe. Corner placement is advantageous in that a piece of furniture installed in this way will accommodate much more things than with another option.

However, it is quite difficult to manufacture, so it is better for a novice master not to take it on, but to limit himself to a simple rectangular model.

A built-in closet can be installed if there is a niche or pantry in the room. It will be functional, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. In addition, it is much easier to make a closet from a closet on your own than to make it completely: there are already walls, a ceiling and interior space. The main task is to decide on the filling of such a cabinet, to correctly plan the dimensions, drawing and course of action.

materials

Materials should be chosen carefully, first of all thinking about strength, reliability and durability.

Tree

If we are talking about wood, then it is not suitable for creating a built-in wardrobe, because in a niche or pantry the humidity level is much higher than in a room. Any tree will quickly begin to crack and lose its natural beauty. In extreme cases, you can use it to create small components and decorative elements, but with mandatory pre-treatment with a water-polymer emulsion or drying oil.

Drywall

Recently, a very popular material is drywall. However, professional furniture assemblers do not recommend its use. This material is highly brittle and very heavy in weight.

In addition, it must be attached to some kind of solid foundation.

Shelves made of drywall quickly begin to "sag" under the weight of things, crack and deform. You can create other pieces of furniture from it, but it is absolutely not suitable for making a high-quality wardrobe.

Fiberboard, MDF and chipboard

Best Options- Fiberboard, MDF or laminated chipboard. It is these materials that have always been distinguished by strength and reliability, it is easy and simple to work with them, and humidity and temperature changes do not affect them. Big choice markets and shops of various color shades laminated chipboard will allow anyone to choose the desired color.

Important point: for the purpose of manufacturing cabinets, there is a certain standard for laminated chipboard sheets with a thickness of 16 mm.

Plywood

Plywood is no less versatile and durable. It also happens to be laminated, on sale you can find its varieties, which are distinguished by water resistance and insensitivity to high humidity, which is important when placing a closet in a niche or pantry.

Plywood combines both strength and malleability because it is made from soft wood species. It should be remembered that when screwing screws into it, it can be deformed, but this will not happen if you use washer-like gaskets.

Furniture panels

The sliding wardrobe can also be made from furniture panels. First of all, they are famous for their visual appeal and low price. This material is based on natural tree species such as oak, alder, birch. When creating furniture, panels are usually combined with plywood in the following way: the frame and facade of the structure are made from them, and shelves and drawers are made from plywood.

Thickness according to the standard - 2 cm.

From an old closet that has served its time, you can make elements that may be needed when creating a new one. Sometimes chipboard sheets from outdated furniture are extremely durable: unlike many modern materials, it is impossible even to screw screws into them without first creating a special hole. In this case, old but strong chipboard panels fit perfectly inside the cabinet as durable shelves.

If suitable material already selected, it remains to purchase ready-made sliding doors for the future cabinet. Of course, you can make them yourself, but it will cost much more than buying doors that are ready for installation. Should be found good company manufacturer of sliding doors, and place an order there, specifying the size of the opening and the number of panels.

In order for sliding doors to serve as long as possible, it is imperative to purchase a self-adhesive seal. Its main purpose is not only fastening profiles in grooves. If the seal good quality, it will prevent the penetration of dust, and the cabinet doors will move absolutely silently.

Description of drawings

Before starting the assembly of any piece of furniture, it is necessary to create a certain scheme in the form of a drawing. The dimensions should be carefully checked, with the obligatory indication of all parameters as outside, and inside the structure, while necessarily indicating the thickness of each partition.

When drawing up a drawing, it is important to observe certain dimensional standards in advance: for example, optimal distance between the shelves it is recommended to leave 30-40 cm, and the depth of the drawer should be no more than 50-55 cm.

Before creating a drawing, it is necessary to determine the main characteristics that the future wardrobe will have:

  • height, width and depth;
  • the height of the mezzanines, if they are planned;
  • how many doors, drawers and other departments will be in the closet;
  • what filling is planned: boxes, crossbars, shelves, etc.

After that, a sketch of the future cabinet is drawn. If you have experience and the ability to draw, you can make a drawing yourself, simply using a piece of paper. There is also a simple solution for those who are not good at drawing: special computer programs, in which it will be enough just to enter certain data, and the computer will issue a ready-made full-fledged drawing. The quality and accuracy of such a drawing is so high that with its help you can safely begin to assemble the cabinet yourself.

Step-by-step instruction

Room measurements and calculation

First, using a tape measure, three horizontal dimensions of the niche are determined from the outside: at the top, in the middle and at the bottom. Then the same three measurements are taken along the back wall. This is necessary in order to understand what size future shelves will have to cut out. Further, similar dimensions (in front and along the back wall of the niche) are taken vertically in height: the left edge, middle and right edge.

This helps to understand what the overall size picture will be.

It is important to remember that measurement errors are quite common. It is determined by the quality of the construction of the house and the alignment of the walls. The dimensions should be recorded in the drawing with all the errors in order to make the calculations as accurately as possible.

At this stage, you need to finally decide on the detailing of the cabinet. What and where will be located, how many sliding facades are planned to be installed, how many departments in total, will there be open doors in the closet? corner shelves whether you need a visor with backlight.

Since we are talking about a small closet, which is located in the hallway, you can immediately decide what and where to put. Outdoor shoes can simply be placed on the floor in a niche, without the use of shelves made of chipboard or other material. It is also advisable to think over the internal filling of the cabinet in advance: the number of compartments for clothes, drawers, shelves, rods for hangers.

All measurements must be made taking into account the thickness of all materials used.

It is important not to forget to carefully put down the dimensions between the shelves. If the niche is curved, then the shelves will need to be made with an allowance in order to accurately fit the dimensions of the walls. The dimensions of each part should be painted, taking into account the plastic edge(PVC, usually 2mm).

Well, if the installation happens quickly, without unnecessary adjustments.

Cut and fittings

With a strong desire, you can cut out the details yourself, but there is no need for this. Ready drawing it is better to give it to the production workshop, where all the components for the cabinet will be made exactly according to the specified dimensions. Therefore, the drawing must be drawn up as accurately and correctly as possible, and at a proven reliable furniture factory, all necessary elements for the upcoming build.

As for the fittings, there will also be no problems with its acquisition now: it is in large assortment available in large construction or specialized stores. Here is a sample list of what you might need when making a simple built-in cabinet:

  • debel and self-tapping screws,
  • pads for soft installation of self-tapping screws,
  • furniture corners (preferably metal),
  • hanger bar with bar holders (if the cabinet is small, one will be enough),
  • hooks, clips for attaching shoe shelves.

Construction assembly and installation

Since this is not a cabinet, but a built-in wardrobe, the top and side panels of which replace the walls, you can start right away with determining the place for the shelves. Several marks are made on the wall with a pencil, and the shelves themselves are fastened using mounting brackets.

It is better if they are metal, not plastic: the first and durable, and look very aesthetically pleasing. Corners are fastened with dowels and self-tapping screws.

If the cabinet has shelves whose length exceeds 800 mm, they need additional fastening, otherwise, over time, any material may bend under the weight of things. Therefore, on the back wall of the shelf should be reinforced with metal corners.

The hanging rod is attached to the wall using special rod holders. round shape. Each of them has three holes, and fastening to the wall is carried out with dowels and self-tapping screws.

At the bottom, you can install a mesh-type shoe shelf. It is attached using special hooks or clips, set to the desired level after first marking its location with a pencil.

Then you need to fix the shelf along the side front walls with metal corners.

If the room has stretch ceiling, for the competent combination of such a ceiling and a wardrobe, you will need to put a mortgage between them in the form of a beam up to 100 mm wide.

Installation of sliding doors

As already noted, the ceiling is not always smooth and ideal. Therefore, the first task when installing the top guide for sliding doors is to align it and install it clearly horizontally. To do this, you will need to lay linings of various thicknesses between the guide and the ceiling.

You can make them from MDF. The resulting gap in the conclusion is closed with a frieze made of chipboard 8 mm thick.

Now you need to measure the height of the niche on the left and right in order to calculate the possible slope of the floor or ceiling, as well as the obstruction of the walls. Having established the difference in size, you need to take the MDF spacers again and put them between the rail and the ceiling. Only now, already through all the installed gaskets, it is possible to finally fix the upper guide. Drill a hole in the ceiling, hammer in the dowel, then the guide is finally attached to the ceiling with screws.

When trying on the frieze, it is important to make allowances in order to adjust all the details to size already during installation. Frieze attach to the gap, mark with a pencil desired lines and cut around them. You can glue the frieze to the guide using double-sided tape. In order for the adhesive tape to hold well, it is necessary to first degrease the glued surface with alcohol. Then stick vertical strips of tape on the surface, remove the protective film from it and stick the frieze to the top rail.

The bottom rail for cabinet doors is also attached with double-sided tape. This will ensure its smooth and soft running - the doors will move silently, with minimal wear on the rollers. The doors themselves must be inserted into the upper and lower rails that are ready for use and adjusted.

Detailed instructions on the assembly and installation of compartment doors can be viewed in the following video.

So that when creating a cabinet you are not limited to standard rectangular shapes, you can apply creative ingenuity to work with such a soft and pliable material as plywood. Create a smooth and unusual shape a shelf or other element of a piece of furniture can be done by moistening a sheet of plywood with water and placing it on a special form - a blank. Within 12-14 hours, the sheet will acquire the desired smooth shape and will be ready for use.

In addition, there is the easiest and most straightforward way to attach cabinet shelves using pieces of the most common plinth. MDF plinth is distinguished by increased strength, sometimes not inferior in reliability to metal fittings. In order for such fasteners of the shelf not to be too conspicuous, the plinth segment can be made one third shorter than the depth of the shelf, and its end cut obliquely.

The self-tapping screw, farthest from the edge of the shelf, in this case will have to be screwed from above, through the shelf board.

The use of stained glass technology for decoration

The door panels of the wardrobe can be decorated with a stained glass window. The cost of manufacturing such facade decorations is different, it directly depends on the degree of complexity of the technology used. In any case, they will look great inexpensive options stained glass cabinet design, but subject to their quality workmanship.

There are three main types of stained-glass windows that are most often used for decoration:

  • Classic stained glass. It will look best when framed by a wooden or metal frame. Glasses can be with any pattern or different colors. The manufacturing process of such a stained-glass window is very labor intensive, which provides it with both prestige and a rather high price.
  • Tiffany. Its difference from the classic stained-glass window is that it is possible to use this option if there is no frame on the facade. In this case, the drawing is more intricate and original. Technically, it is no less complicated than the classic, but aesthetically very beautiful. Even its apparent fragility may not be considered a serious disadvantage compared to its beauty.
  • Filling type of stained-glass window. It is also called contour. One of the popular imitations of expensive Tiffany, performed on a large glass canvas. Such a stained-glass window, due to its simpler manufacturing technique and low price, is the most popular among consumers. It is resistant to external damage and very practical, which allows it to be successfully used to decorate the most simple options furniture.

Sandblasted drawings on mirrors

If the facade of the wardrobe is made in the form of a mirror coating or glass, you can apply a beautiful sandblasted pattern to it. This is an abrasive type of surface treatment using sand sprayed using a special apparatus under a certain air pressure.

This technology provides any furniture with unique and realistic drawings that have volume and texture. Once upon a time, when sandblasters was not yet, in the ancient Roman Empire, similar glass processing was carried out manually using a flat stone: they rubbed sea sand over the surface of the glass.

The sandblasted image is porous and, unfortunately, can easily get dirty. This is its only drawback, which can be dealt with by protecting the surface of the pattern with varnish or a special solution, which includes polymer components.

Vinyl stickers

Excellent and most easy way decorate the facade of the wardrobe, if there is no financial opportunity to order stained glass or sandblasting. Typically, these stickers look like transparent wallpaper. In their manufacture, a special film is used. Thanks to its transparency and monochromatic pattern, you can easily match the sticker to the color of any cabinet.

Replace an old boring sticker with a new one at any time - it can be easily removed without leaving marks on the mirror or glass.

Often in small apartments there is not enough space for storing things, so they are often in plain sight, creating a mess.

If this is tired, then you should think about.

Consider how to independently mount it in the hallway.

Before starting work, you need to collect the necessary tool:

  • construction angle;
  • drill;
  • roulette;
  • level;
  • screwdriver;
  • pencil;
  • electric jigsaw.

materials

The most popular material for the construction of the walls of the wardrobe is Chipboard 16 mm thick.

Is not binding material, if you want to save money, then you can use GKL or fiberboard, only after assembly this material will need to be improved further.

But it is worth remembering that using the remnants of the material, the result will be appropriate.

You can also use MDF for the construction of a wardrobe, furniture boards are sold in hardware stores. It is worth noting that this material is slightly cheaper than laminated chipboard.

solid wood- the most environmentally friendly, natural material, but quite expensive, especially if you buy already cut and planed boards with groove fasteners. Despite the high cost, many ordinary people prefer this particular material for making furniture with their own hands, for its advantages:

  • eco-friendly;
  • "breathable" - things will not suffocate in such a design;
  • easy to process and assemble;
  • the ability to decorate with wood carvings.

The material can be bought everywhere, but when it is used, the cost of the structure will increase several times.

For doors, it is better to purchase non-staining materials. The most preferred is - patterned glass or mirror. For doors, chipboard 10 mm thick is also suitable.

Filling

As soon as the issue with the material of manufacture is resolved, the following problem arises - accessories and filling:

  • shelves- they can be both made of wood and chipboard, but you should understand that if you do not install special edges on the second option, then the shelves will not last long;
  • clothes hanger tubes. If the cabinet in the hallway is less than 50 cm thick, it will be more relevant to use end rails for hangers. In this case, it is better not to save, but to use ball elements;
  • drawers, you can buy ready-made or build it yourself from chipboard and plywood. It’s also better not to save on fittings for drawers, as simple retractable mechanism will not work for a long time, while there is always a chance that the box may fall out;
  • shoe mesh- it is advisable to buy a multi-level one. So each household will have its own place for shoes.

It should be noted right away that the more fittings installed in the cabinet, the more expensive it becomes.

Drawings and diagrams of a wardrobe closet in a niche

When filling, the cabinet must be divided into zones using partitions. When installing a classic wardrobe, the main part of the wardrobe is occupied by a place for hangers with clothes, a mesh for shoes and open or closed shelves for things. The remaining space is taken up by storage space for household items, such as a vacuum cleaner, ironing board, bucket broom and so on.

You can design a wardrobe using a special program on the Internet or a ruler and a pencil on plain paper.

Usually the wall serves as one of the side walls of the built-in wardrobe, so there are few details needed:

  • one wall from floor to ceiling;
  • depending on how many doors you plan to install, you will need 1 or 2 partitions, from floor to ceiling;
  • a small detail 10-15 cm wide - in order to ennoble the opening after assembling the cabinet;
  • shelf under the mezzanine - there will be stored things that are used very rarely. Other shelves and drawers as needed.

Advice. If there is a niche in the hallway, then it can be used to install a do-it-yourself built-in wardrobe. This option will cost less, since niche walls will serve as side walls. It is enough to mount the filling with partitions, and install the door.

The depth of the shelves is calculated based on the door structure that is planned to be adopted. Some rails allow you to install shelves of maximum depth - just step back from the edge of a centimeter. In others, for quality work door leaf it will take almost 10 cm.

Important. If, after installing the wardrobe, a stretch ceiling is planned, then it is worth providing a mortgage for fastening the profile. Retreat from the ceiling a few centimeters, and do not make the door from ceiling to floor. It is very simple to do this, it is enough to build a U-shaped box from profiles and chipboard and attach it to the ceiling. In this case, the end of the box will serve as a support for the ceiling, and a rail is installed on the lower part.

In the drawing, you need to indicate the size of each individual part, while you should not forget that an edge must be applied to each shelf and partition, the thickness of which must be taken into account.

Advice. It is better to order edging immediately after cutting the material from the same company from which the material is bought and sawn. In addition, it is worth knowing that the visible parts are sealed PVC edge 2 mm, and the remaining parts - 0.4 mm. Docking parts do not need to be edged.

During the design process, you may encounter such a problem as curved wall surfaces.

Often this is not visually visible, but as soon as you begin to install the cabinet element against the wall, the unevenness is immediately detected.

Of course, you can, of course, mask a gap of several centimeters PVC corner. But we advise you to check the evenness of the walls in advance using a level or a rule and do the work of leveling the walls.

You should not file chipboard - firstly, without a special tool you will not be able to do it as evenly as possible, and secondly, there will be no edge and a saw cut will open, into which moisture can get and the material will begin to collapse. It will be difficult to install even a U-shaped plastic profile on a saw cut curve.

As for the interior, the walls can be painted or finished with a cleaning material, such as non-woven wallpaper.

Assembly

Assembly should begin with the installation of the main walls and the formation of an opening around the entire perimeter, with pre-prepared chipboard strips.

How to make a frame yourself?

You need to complete two steps:

  1. The frame is attached along the perimeter to the walls, floor and ceiling on dowelnails.
  2. Between themselves, the elements are fastened with special corners. If you want to make it beautiful, then you can use furniture, plastic corners.

    If reliability is taken as the basis, then it is enough just to buy steel corners.

Advice. Modern way fastening parts - furniture euro screws, but for them you first need to drill holes, but it is very difficult to do it by eye. In this case, you will have to buy a special drill.

As soon as the base of the cafe is assembled, the installation of partitions begins, and only then proceed to the shelves.

Shelves

Use special shelf holders made of metal or plastic. We list the most common options for mounting shelves:

Once you have decided on the mounting option, you can proceed with the installation. Shelves are installed according to a pre-planned plan.

Important. Shelves should be slightly less than the overall depth of the cabinet so that nothing gets in the way of closing the doors. As for closed drawers, it is worth leaving space for handles, that is, they should be 10 cm smaller.

crossbar

Before starting the installation, cut the rod of the desired length from the workpiece.

  1. Make a markup of its location.
  2. Install the holder on the main wall and the chipboard wall.
  3. Install the crossbar in the holders.

Holders must be installed not only on self-tapping screws, but also on glue. To do this, before fastening, we apply glue to the inside, apply it to the markings and fasten it.

Shoe mesh

If we compare grids with laminated chipboard shelves, they are much lighter and create less load on the entire structure.

In addition, shoe racks allow you to make the design very convenient and ergonomic. The mounts are very comfortable several types:

  • support brackets;
  • clips;
  • pockets;
  • brackets.

Nets for shoes, when installed, are cut in the middle, as plastic tips are installed on them. The step of the shoe rack must be a multiple of 25 mm. Clips are installed in increments of 245 mm.

Often nets for shoes are installed with a slope, at an angle of 45 degrees for the convenience of storing shoes and boots.

compartment doors

Assembly and installation of doors is the most difficult stage in this design. In this case, it is impossible to save on fittings, otherwise the door may jam or fall out.

Manufacturing

Typically, a closet in the hallway consists of two doors, less often they make three-door ones. Each door is a leaf framed on 4 sides, made of special aluminum profiles.

It should be noted right away that the canvas may be heterogeneous, but the material must be combined. Used for joining connecting profile. The profile for the doors is designed for the thickness of the material in 10 mm.

It is very easy to insert a profile into such a profile, despite the fact that its thickness is only 4 mm, just the missing 6 mm is supplemented with a silicone sealant.

You need to buy a special door mirror with a protective film so that it does not shatter into small fragments upon impact.

Doors should not be wider than 1 meter, because:

  • this is quite inconvenient;
  • it is very difficult to deliver material of this width without damaging it.

Doors can be ordered furniture store, but you can assemble with your own hands. This is not difficult to do - a frame is put on the canvas and twisted with screws.

The algorithm of actions is as follows:

  1. It is better to start the assembly with transverse profiles. For this they prepare wooden spacer, on which a profile is mounted with a rubber hammer.
  2. As soon as the horizontal profiles are ready, they proceed to the vertical ones, they are fixed with self-tapping screws 6x35 or 5x30 mm. Before finally pulling the frame, do not forget install rollers top and bottom.
  3. If you want to make the fastener invisible, then you should use drills of several diameters: the first hole is made with a diameter of 9 mm, under the screw head, the second 5 mm under the leg.
  4. It is worth immediately warning that vertical and horizontal profiles are very different. Three holes are made in the vertical ones, for attaching the profiles to each other and for the rollers.
  5. The rollers will walk along the guides - they are installed in the same plane above and below. The upper rails provide fixation of the web relative to the depth, and the lower rails provide closing / opening. Often bottom rollers are made of plastic with damping spring and screw for height adjustment. Top rollers with rubberized surface.
  6. A stopper for doors is installed in the lower rail, and closers can also be installed upwards, which will smoothly close the door themselves.

Installation

To install the door, you must first install in the far recess of the upper guide, and then install in the lower corresponding channel.

The second canvas is installed according to the same principle.

After the canvases are installed, you need adjust rollers so that there is no gap between the canvas and the walls. Stick buffer tape on the handles.

We check the doors - if the move is free, and the rollers do not cling anywhere, then the work on installing the doors can be considered completed.
