Who else can a teacher work. School teacher, university teacher, kindergarten teacher. Who is the best to work and why

A teacher is a representative of one of the most widespread and socially significant professions. Every year, pedagogical universities and colleges graduate more than one hundred thousand young specialists-teachers, whose professional functions are aimed at the all-round development of the individual, which means they determine the future of the country!

In today's article Reconomica will tell you what paths open up for a graduate of a pedagogical university. And it will analyze the pros and cons of each of them. Our expert will be a teacher with experience who has faced work at all levels of teaching.

My name is Elena Vladimirovna Obernikhina. I am a teacher by profession. I would like to bring comparative characteristics three professions:

The main thing in choosing a profession is a thoughtful approach.

When I hear applicants of a pedagogical university say that they come here only to get higher education, and in the future they plan to study - it becomes funny to me.

The fact is that the educational program of any university in our country is formed in such a way that after graduating from it, a young specialist will be able to perform only one function - the one that is inscribed in his diploma as a specialty. And for four or six years of study at the university he will not be taught anything else.

Moreover, doing the same thing for several years of study, a young specialist will be clearly focused on a specific, specific type of activity. Therefore, the selection of a university should be treated very carefully. You need to choose the profession that you want to be engaged in for many years.

At the beginning of glorious deeds.

Professional career of a teacher

A graduate of a pedagogical university has one indisputable advantage. It's called "the right to teach." Yes, don't be surprised. The fact is that having already graduated from a pedagogical college (school), a young specialist can get a job at a school or kindergarten.

A graduate of any other higher educational institution, in order to become a teacher at one of the departments in his university, will have to complete his master's or postgraduate studies, having passed the candidate's minimum. It is the master's or postgraduate studies that give a graduate of a non-pedagogical university the right to teach.

Therefore, do not be surprised, but a mechanical engineer cannot teach labor in a general education school, and a software engineer cannot teach computer science to students. This is the specificity of pedagogical and non-pedagogical diplomas.

Teacher qualification levels

A graduate of a pedagogical university, working in his specialty, has the right to apply for advanced training. Within the walls of the school, there is such a gradation of qualification categories of teachers:

  1. Specialist;
  2. Teacher of the second category;
  3. Teacher of the first category;
  4. The teacher of the highest category;
  5. Methodist teacher;
  6. Honored Teacher of Russia.

Naturally, the fifth and sixth points are the privilege of the elite. And it is quite possible to work up to a teacher of the highest qualification category, but in 15-20 years. So, dear young professionals, be prepared to live for many years on the salary of a teacher of the first and second categories. And this is not a lot of money. That is why teachers "love" to do tutoring very much - they just need money, but there is nowhere to take it.

Professional knowledge, skills and abilities of a teacher

What does the end of a pedagogical university give in practice? The answer is simple: the student, for several years, is taught to actively communicate, talk a lot, own oral speech and be able to express your own thoughts in writing.

In fact, it costs absolutely nothing for any teacher to convince anyone of anything. Teacher is good practical psychologist and a good speaker. However, a teacher is a poor moneymaker, since the main personal qualities of a classical teacher are usually honesty and disinterestedness. In addition, any teacher, by nature, is an altruist.

This is the set of qualities that any graduate of a pedagogical university who has worked for several years in his profession will receive.

As for pedagogical skills, the word "methodology" should be mentioned. Methodology is the science of how to teach correctly. Moreover, any of the methods is designed to study a clearly defined discipline, a specific age group students.

Therefore, a geography teacher is unlikely to be able to teach students Chinese. And the teacher in English will not explain to students how to write computer programs.

Each teacher's diploma contains a phrase related to his specialty. For example: "specialty: physics and labor." This means that this teacher can teach students only work and physics, but not chemistry or mathematics.

The profession "teacher"

I'll start my story about this difficult profession with a warning.

It's hard to work as a teacher

This is a very nervous profession. The main difficulty it consists in the fact that it is necessary not only to seat the class in its places, to silence the children, and then listen to you, understand your explanation and answer the questions posed.

The main difficulty of this profession lies in conflicts with parents. For some reason, the parents of graduates, instead of having their own child sit down for doing homework and control it all year - at the end of the school year, they come to school to "force" the teacher to change the assessment of their beloved child.

The problem of the teacher is that the “beloved child” is a completely adult person, and there are more than twenty such “children” in each class. And all these boys and girls perfectly see which of them and how they answer in the lessons.

Note that it is not a problem for any student to approach the teacher and ask him: "Why does Masha have a score of five, and I have two?"

And, in my opinion, the child will be absolutely right. And I will have to meet with these children in a year and in twenty years. And it is much more pleasant when, right on the street, students begin to introduce their children and spouses to you than when, seeing the teacher, the student crosses to the other side of the street.

My first teacher.

That is why I, as a rule, try not to satisfy the demands of arrogant parents, to increase the assessment of their child. And this is nerves and confrontation. Of course, any child has the right to learn a subject and retake it, but the mark cannot be increased by more than two points - this is the law.

In addition to children, the school also has a teaching staff. These are teachers of all ages: from young to retirement. Usually, a couple of times a year, during the holidays, a meeting of the pedagogical council is held at any school.

Frankly speaking, the pedagogical council is not a pleasant event. You just have to sit and listen to the school administration for several hours in a row. Moreover, the information usually presented at the "teachers' council" is neither important nor relevant.

Once every few years, the teacher should give an open lesson. This is done after refresher courses, before upgrading the category. On the open lesson there are representatives of the city education department and teachers from other schools. This is a very nervous event, and, as a result, they pay very little money.

Please note that teachers' salaries increase, on average, every five years. Moreover, they pay well for the length of service, but they give, in essence, a penny for an increase in the category.

Great leadership - little pleasant, but well paid

One of the least favorite activities of all teachers is "class leadership." It means that the duties class teacher it is charged to make excuses to the school administration for any fault of the pupils of their own class.

Just imagine what it is like to listen to nasty things from the mouths of the authorities, because of the tricks of the offspring completely alien to you. Agree, there is little pleasant. And although for the classroom leadership, in last years, pay well, I was lucky to never become a homeroom teacher.

The excuse is simple: as a computer science teacher, I do not teach the whole class - only its subgroups, so I will never see my entire sponsored class as a whole. Usually this excuse works.

The teacher is always to blame

In conclusion, I want to say that any graduate of a pedagogical university, within the walls of a general education school, will inevitably face a problem: « The teacher is always to blame » ... This is the psychology of the school:

  • If the children broke the window, the teacher is to blame;
  • If children write badly test- the teacher explained poorly;
  • If the children have not washed the floor in the classroom, the teacher must wash it;
  • If children and parents complain about the teacher, he is also to blame, the poor one.

These, unfortunately, are the basic norms for the functioning of the school. And not a single young specialist has yet been able to ignore them.

Teachers are very fond of refresher courses and vacation time. When a quarantine is announced at a school, teachers usually greet this event with a loud “Hurray!” - guess why.

The profession of "kindergarten teacher"

Preschool education also belongs to the main types of professional activity of a teacher.

pros

Arriving at work in the "kindergarten", you find yourself in a very pleasant and soft atmosphere:

  • each parent adjusts his child: to be obedient and love the teacher;
  • children "love" with kisses and hugs. Therefore, every morning the teacher begins with kisses and hugs, as well as sweets presented by children. For some reason, each child brings one candy to the teacher's pocket as an indicator of friendship.
  • In the "kindergarten" children eat, play and sleep, and parents rejoice when, having come for the child, they see how the children are doing all this. Therefore, the educator gets only respect and gratitude.

Sincere love of children is a pleasant bonus of being a teacher in a kindergarten.

By the way, in job duties The kindergarten teacher does not include cleaning and washing floors, taking out pots, washing, changing clothes soiled by a child, hanging out spoiled sheets or washing dishes. All this is babysitting. The teacher should only keep the children busy, monitor the observance of the daytime regimen and conduct classes with the kids, of course, in a playful way.

Unlike the huge amount of knowledge required for a school teacher, a kindergarten teacher should only know the Maria Montessori methodology. And this is just one thick book. It is quite enough to competently perform all the duties of an educator for many years.

For myself, I can say one thing for sure: I am absolutely sure that I know what to do with a baby up to seven years old, and how to raise him correctly. And this, believe me, is a very strong argument in favor of the profession of a kindergarten teacher.

And cons

The disadvantage of the profession is the accidental injuries of children. The child may fall off the horizontal bar, scratch another toddler, or not share the toy with him. The further depends on the parents and their attitude to what happened.

One parent will calmly pick up the child, "decorated" with a bump or bruise, making sure that the injury was received from a collision with a plastic bucket. Another will throw a tantrum in kindergarten, and then run to complain to the city education department.

Another disadvantage of the profession is that after a few years, the child will not recognize you on the street, and you will not be able to remember him. So, after years, you can not count on long tea-drinking with graduates.

Higher education teacher

To be honest, a university teacher is a "celestial", both literally and figuratively. Any university adheres to the following rules:

  • If the student is not ready for the lesson, this is the student's problem;
  • If a student did not understand the material of the lecture and the practical lesson - why should he even study at this university;
  • If a student clarified the relationship with the teacher, wrote complaints about him, did not regularly prepare for classes - the teacher simply will not give him a grade, and without this assessment the student will easily be expelled from the university;
  • The teacher can always ask colleagues to ask them not to evaluate the “problem” student. And vice versa, evaluate it better or worse - as necessary. Moreover, this unspoken rule is observed by absolutely all teachers of this university. After all, if one teacher is offended today, tomorrow, perhaps, another will be offended.

In my practice, I also met students who were expelled from the university after a conflict with a teacher. There were also those who, due to the “revenge” of the teachers, had to transfer to the correspondence department, simply in order to receive a diploma of higher education.

The teacher is always right!

The advantages of the profession of a university teacher can be considered:

  • High salary;
  • Formal communication style and widespread respect;
  • Adult communication - you must admit, this is much more pleasant than figuring out how in a general education school, why students broke a window with a ball. In a university, this simply does not happen.
  • A small amount of preparation for lessons. For reference: the school teacher spends all evenings after work writing notes. This is long and unnecessary. But if a teacher comes to class without a synopsis, he is subject to immediate dismissal, and no court will acquit him.

As for the university, notes are not required at all. All teachers write during the year teaching aids for the next school year. Then the department approves them and gives them to the printing house for replication.

Therefore, all teachers and students have similar books - summaries of practical lessons. And the teacher writes only lecture notes.

But, if you consider that only one synopsis is needed for one week, the teacher will not overwork. After all, the university is characterized by a flow of students: all groups, in one week, study the same topic.

Cons of the profession:

  • the university administration still analyzes and takes into account the complaints of students against teachers;
  • it is possible to check "for bribes" - whether the teacher takes them. And this is unpleasant.

A few words about salary - which of the teachers is paid more

In any case, my opinion is that it is better for a teacher to work in his specialty where he can get a job. The only negative is professional development:

  • Professor can raise their own wages only by seniority or by defending a scientific dissertation;
  • School teacher can also raise the category, but only if he has a completed higher education and works in the profession indicated in the diploma;
  • A kindergarten teacher can raise the category only in the case when he has a diploma of graduation from the university, in which the profession is indicated: "preschool education."

As for the salary, the highest monetary remuneration is paid in the universities of our country. But teachers of kindergartens and schools are paid approximately the same. Although one should not forget about the length of service, which significantly increases the salary of a school or kindergarten teacher.

All specialties in the world depend on a person who decided to devote his life to working with children and chose the profession of a teacher, because everyone - a simple worker, a doctor, a movie star, and a politician began their education at school.

The brightest memories are always associated with the first teacher, so teachers primary grades must have not only appropriate education, but high moral character, love for children.

In order to work as a primary school teacher, you must obtain a diploma confirming the receipt of higher or secondary specialized pedagogical education in accordance with this specialty, you can also undergo training in a related or similar direction. However, the preference is still on the side of specialists with higher education, which is due to the specifics of this profession. After all, an elementary school teacher is in one person a teacher and a psychologist, an educator and a music director, a mathematician and a philologist, and also a "school mother" in combination.

You can get pedagogical education on the basis of grades 9 or 11, which will take 3 and 4 years of study, respectively. Higher education of the first level is a bachelor's degree (4 years), and the second is a master's degree (2 years). There is also a third level, whose graduates teach in higher education institutions.

How to become a teacher without teacher training

V Lately all more youth expresses a desire to master the profession of a teacher and, according to the classical method, young men and women apply to teacher training colleges, universities and pedagogical institutes, the latter allows teaching on various subjects in the senior classes of general education schools.

However, guided by changes in the system school education which have been in force since 1.09.2010, it is possible to employ people in the school without specialized education. The training can be carried out by a doctor, lawyer, economist, teaching a subject as close as possible to the specifics of their work. To get the proper qualifications, you must definitely pass exams in one of the domestic pedagogical universities.

How to become a primary school teacher without a teacher education

The same applies to primary school teachers. After all, a teacher is not so much a specialty as a way of life, a call of the heart and soul. Often, even the highest education does not help if a person does not love children, does not have endurance and self-control, and cannot cope with his own emotions. Therefore, a naturally talented teacher can work without special education by passing exams and confirming qualifications at the relevant university.

How to become an English teacher at school

After all, knowledge of English today is not just a tribute to fashion, but a necessity. Moreover, for the teacher himself, especially the young one, work at school is an excellent experience in improving pedagogical and professional skills.

How to become a history and geography teacher at school

The profession of a school geographer and historian is one of those specialties, the love for which begins even when future teachers go to school themselves. Usually these are people who are in love with their land, the whole vast world and are capable of childishly sincere joy in all its amazing manifestations, passing on knowledge and emotions to their students.

You can get the profession of a school teacher of geography or history by enrolling in the geographical or historical-geographical faculty of a pedagogical institute or university. The training time is usually 4 years.

But you can also get a secondary pedagogical education, after which you can start labor activity as a primary school teacher, while studying at the correspondence department of a higher educational institution.

How to become a physical education teacher

It is hardly worth reminding about the importance of physical education of students. Schools are in demand for professional teachers who are able to instill in children a love of sports and convey the utmost importance healthy way life, especially in the conditions of modern ecology.

You can get this profession at a technical school physical culture only in full-time education. Graduates of the 9th grade usually study for 3 years and 10 months, and with a certificate of complete secondary education, the period of study takes 2 years and 10 months.

Admission immediately after school to an institute or university at the department of physical culture and sports will give a diploma of higher education, which can be obtained after studying at a technical school, choosing both full-time and part-time studies at the university.

Instructions

The easiest way is to find a job in your specialty after a pedagogical university or college. If the low salary is upsetting, it is worth considering options for state support for those young teachers who are ready to work in the provinces. In some regions, for three years at school, you can receive compensation equal to the first payment on a mortgage or even half the cost small apartment areas or edges. In addition, after several years of practice in a regular school, you can go to a private one or become a teacher at a secondary school or university.

You can use the skills that are acquired at the university, in addition to the knowledge of education. For example, what is relevant as long as it exists exam system... Instructions

Education can take several forms: full-time, part-time and distance learning.

Find public universities that allow you to continue your education. Perhaps there are such people near the place of residence. In this case, it will be possible to avoid a big move and get an education close to home. See a college psychologist. It so happens that the graduate does not like the education on which he was educated in college. Decide where to go to study

Letter of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated August 10, 2015 No. 08-1240<О квалификационных требованиях к педагогическим работникам организаций, реализующих программы дошкольного и общего образования>clarified, in particular, the following.

In accordance with part 1 of article 46 of the Federal Law of December 29, 2012 No. 273-FZ "On education in Russian Federation"the right to engage in teaching activities is reserved for persons with secondary vocational or higher education and meeting the qualification requirements specified in qualification reference books and (or) professional standards.

Currently, the Single qualification handbook positions of managers, specialists and employees (section " Qualification characteristics positions of educators "), approved by order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia dated August 26, 2010 No. 761n (hereinafter referred to as the reference book). secondary general education) (educator, teacher) ", approved by order of the Ministry of Labor of Russia dated October 18, 2013 No. 544n (hereinafter referred to as the standard).

Both the handbook and the standard state that a person applying for the position of teacher must have a higher education professional education or secondary vocational education in the direction of training "Education and Pedagogy" or in an area appropriate to the subject taught, without presenting requirements for work experience either higher vocational education or secondary vocational education and additional vocational education in the direction of activity in educational organization without presentation of requirements for work experience.

Thus, according to the above normative legal acts and explanations to them, it should be considered that persons who have, for example, higher professional education in the direction of training "Education and Pedagogy" (qualifications - "Philologist. Teacher of Russian language and literature", "Historian. Teacher of history ", etc.) and (or) in the field corresponding to the taught subject (specialties -" Russian language and literature "," History ", etc.), meet the qualification requirements for teachers of the Russian language and literature, teachers of history and social studies, etc.

In addition, it must be borne in mind that the lack of education for a teacher in the field of work (in the direction of training) in itself cannot be a basis for recognizing a pedagogical worker as inappropriate for the position held during his certification if the employer's submission, on the basis of which the attestation commission makes a decision, contains a positive, motivated, comprehensive and objective assessment of the professional, business qualities, and the results of the professional activity of the teacher in fulfilling the duties assigned to him by the employment contract.

Thus, you may well become a teacher at school, but what depends on the specialty you received. In addition, in the process of work, you will most likely be able to undergo professional retraining, that is, roughly speaking, retrain to be a teacher in another subject. For example, in my school half of the teachers had diplomas of a classical university, and for some reason they impressed me more, but this is purely IMHO.

That is, it turns out that you can learn, for example, to be a teacher in a college, and then just go through professional retraining in half a year and become a teacher of mathematics or geography? Wow ... But if a person is a cook or an engineer, can he, having undergone professional retraining, become a teacher, say, a labor worker?

A teacher is a very noble and prestigious profession in the Russian Federation. But, unfortunately, the work of a teacher at school is not highly paid. Due to low salaries, the work of a teacher has become not only prestigious, but also highly demanded in the vastness of the Russian Federation. Many teachers choose to leave to work in other countries, and only a small number of teachers remain to work in their home country. In the ranking, the teacher's salary remains in the tail.

Not everyone can become a teacher. This is a difficult profession that requires patience, endurance and love for children. Therefore, most of the teachers in the Russian Federation work not for financial gain, but by vocation. They get moral pleasure from communication and work with children. The peculiarity of the teacher's work is that the teacher must find mutual language with children, try to unite the class, make them more friendly, and at the same time, the academic performance of schoolchildren should grow.

Many graduates of pedagogical universities, after completing their studies, express a desire to work at school. There are several ways you can get a job as a teacher at school:

  1. Already on the 2-3 course, young teachers undergo practical training in schools. If the future teacher proves himself as a sociable and qualified employee, then he has every chance to stay to work at the school where he did his internship. The teacher will need to show all his skills and abilities in order to earn the trust of the teaching staff.
  2. Local education authorities (GORONO - City Department of Public Education and Science) are responsible for employment of teachers in schools. A future teacher, if he wants to get a job, can come to such an organization and find out about the availability of vacancies. It is worth coming no later than May-June. During these months, the teaching staff is recruited.
  3. Find out on your own in schools about the availability of vacancies. It is worth remembering that positive characteristic from the place of practice will only increase the chances of a future teacher to get a job at school. Therefore, one should not neglect the advice of the "senior" teachers in practice.
  4. You can find a job as a teacher at school on the Internet. There are many job search sites. On the website, go to the "Education" section, and the portal will automatically give out vacancies in different educational institutions of the selected city.

One of the most famous job search portals in Russia is Trudvsem.ru. The site contains an all-Russian database of vacancies. It is necessary to introduce the requirements of the future teacher in terms of salary, region and work schedule, and after that it is worth choosing the field of activity "Education, Science".

The main page of the site "Labor for all"

  1. One of the most simple ways to get a job at school is to apply to the home educational institution that you graduated from. If during the training the teacher found a common language with the teaching staff and established himself as a responsible person, then if there are free places, the specialist will most likely be able to get a job.

Many ambitious people who want to devote their lives to teaching are interested in the question of whether it is possible to get a job at a school as a teacher without having a specialized education. Unfortunately this is not possible. A person will need to finish at least a teacher training college or lyceum. But with such an education, he can only become a primary school teacher. In order to teach in high school, you will need to graduate from a higher educational institution with a pedagogical focus.

In rare cases, it is possible to get a job at a school without specialized education. But for this, a person must thoroughly master the knowledge that he wants to teach children. The decision on hiring is made by the school administration.

You don't have to have work experience to get a job at school. Specialists with no work experience are admitted to both municipal and private schools.

To increase the chances of finding a job, it is worth looking for work in areas where the percentage of demand for teachers is higher. In 2018-2019, the following areas are in greatest need of teachers:

  1. Moscow region.
  2. Krasnoyarsk region.
  3. Krasnodar region.
  4. Leningrad region.
  5. Novosibirsk region.
  6. Sverdlovsk region.
  7. Volgograd region.
  8. Omsk region.
  9. Rostov region.

A well-written resume is very important when applying for a job. The summary contains information such as:

  1. Personal data.
  2. Experience.
  3. Education.
  4. Category.
  5. Qualification.
  6. Contact Information.
  7. Personal qualities.
  8. Discharge.

If a person already had work experience at school, then the resume additionally includes the duties performed at the previous place of employment.

This information will help the school administration understand how qualified the employee is and what responsibilities can be assigned to him.

If the school administration is satisfied with the candidacy of the teacher, then an order for employment is issued. The order is drawn up by an employee of the personnel department. If one person is hired, then an order is drawn up in the form No. T-1. If two or more people get a job, then the personnel officer draws up an order according to the form No. T-1a.

The order contains the following information:

  1. The name of the school.
  2. Document number and date.
  3. Employment date.
  4. expiration date employment contract.
  5. Personnel Number.
  6. Full Name.
  7. Structural subdivision.
  8. Position.
  9. Conditions of employment.
  10. The nature of the work.
  11. Overtime salary and allowance.
  12. Grounds for hiring.

The order is signed by the school director and teacher.

If the basis for employment is not an employment contract, then the teacher must write and sign an application for employment.

Application for a job

To conclude an employment contract, the teacher must provide the school administration with a package of documents:

  • the passport,
  • employment history,
  • education document,
  • personal medical certificate confirming that the teacher does not have any health restrictions for working at school.

It is worth noting that the first year at school is not easy. During this period, the teacher gets to know children, exchanges experiences and forms of work with other young teachers.

On average, adaptation of work at school takes from 6 months to 2 years.

Requirements for teachers

The main requirement for teachers of various specialties is compliance with GEF standards(Federal State Educational Standard).

The FGOS clearly defines the personal qualities of schoolchildren, which the teacher should help form. The GEF indicates the main educational program, workload in certain subjects. Also, it is in the FSES that the main disciplines for studying are indicated.

According to the Federal State Educational Standard, the teacher primary school and senior classes should have the following abilities:

  9. Preparing a visual aid for the lesson.
  10. Participation in the meeting of the pedagogical council.
  11. Conducting parenting meetings.
  12. Conducting educational work.
  13. Organization of extracurricular activities.

Advantages and disadvantages of being a teacher

Like every profession, the specialty of a teacher has its own advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:

  1. Creative work.
  2. Systematic development of the teacher.
  3. Opportunity to earn extra money by tutoring.
  4. Schedule. Often, teachers only work in the morning.
  5. Vacation 2 months.
  6. Opportunity for career growth.

Flaws:

  1. Small salary.
  2. The profession is associated with nervous tension... Because of this, teachers often have health problems.
  3. Strict dress code. The teacher is a role model for students. Therefore, the teacher is forced to dress strictly and in a business style at work.

For comparison, here's a video about working at a US school. radically different from ours.

Salary by specialties

It is worth noting that a teacher's earnings depend not only on the number of hours worked and qualifications, but also on the subject's specialization:

  1. A Spanish language teacher earns from 45 thousand rubles a month.
  2. An economics teacher receives from about 45 thousand.
