It's not magic. This is the neurosis of fate. Magical and mystical thinking

magical thinking is a fundamental aspect of a child's thinking. – Zusne and Jones

According to anthropologist Dr. Phillips Stevens Jr, magical thinking includes several elements, including the belief in the interconnectedness of all things through supernatural forces, transcending the limits of physical and spiritual possibilities. Magical thinking sees special powers in many things that are seen as symbols. According to Stevens, "the vast majority of the peoples of the world ... believe that there are real connections between symbol and referent, and that there are real and potentially measurable energy flows between them." He believes there is a neurobiological basis for this, although the specific content of any symbol varies by culture. (Some symbols are universal, such as egg, fire, water. True, egg, fire, or water do not always symbolize the same thing in all cultures.)

One of the driving principles of magical thinking is the notion that things that are similar to each other are causally connected in some way, and the connection cannot be scientifically tested (the law of similarity). Another driving principle is the belief that “things that have been in physical contact or in spatial or temporal relationships with other things remain connected even after they are separated” (the law of imitation) (Fraser; Stevens). As an example - the relics of saints who transmit spiritual energy. Or psychic detectives who claim to be able to get information about missing people by touching a thing that belongs to a person (psychometry). Or psychics who claim to be able to read your dog's mind by looking at a picture of it. Another striking example is Rupert Sheldrake's morphic resonance. Coincidentally, Sheldrake also reads canine minds.

According to psychologist James Alcock, magical thinking is the interpretation of two closely occurring events as if one were caused by the other, without regard for cause and effect. For example, if you believe that crossing your fingers will bring you happiness, you link the act of crossing to subsequent events and impute a causal relationship between them. In this sense, magical thinking is the source of many superstitions. Elcock notes that we are generally inclined towards magical thinking and that, consequently, critical thinking is often out of the question. It is useful to become familiar with post hoc fallacy and gambler error, as well as the law of large numbers.

Zusne and Jones (1989: 13) define magical thinking as the belief that

(a) the transfer of energy or information between physical systems can only take place by virtue of their similarity or contiguity in time and space, or (b) that one thought, word, or action can achieve specific physical effects in a manner that does not obey the principles of ordinary transmission energy or information.

Obvious examples of magical thinking are Jung's concept of synchronicity, homeopathy, applied kinesiology, graphology, palmistry, psychokinesis.

Most of the sciences lead us away from superstition and magical thinking, parapsychology and other pseudosciences try to lead us to it. Dean Radin (1997), one of parapsychology's leading apologists, notes that "the concept that mind is primary over matter has deep roots in Eastern philosophy and ancient beliefs about magic." However, instead of saying that it is time to move forward and abandon magical thinking, he rejects "Western science."

Introduction

Since the time of L. Levy-Bruhl and Sigmund Freud, it was believed that magical thinking was inherent only to primitive man. Recently, it can be confidently asserted that modern man also possesses magical thinking. Before talking about the types of thinking and magical thinking itself, let's define thinking from the point of view of psychology:

Thinking is the highest stage of human knowledge, the process of reflection in the brain of the surrounding real world, based on two fundamentally different psycho-physiological mechanisms: the formation and continuous replenishment of the stock of concepts, ideas and the derivation of new judgments and conclusions.

Different schools of psychology distinguish different types thinking in the transanalytic concept, it is customary to single out critical thinking, logical thinking, abstract thinking, visual-figurative thinking and magical thinking, let's define each of these types of thinking.

Critical thinking is a system of judgments that is used to analyze things and events with the formulation of reasonable conclusions and allows you to make reasonable assessments, interpretations, and also correctly apply the results to situations and problems.

Logical thinking is a thought process in which a person uses clear and specific concepts. Logical thinking is necessary when making a decision when it is necessary to apply and analyze the knowledge gained earlier.

Abstract thinking is the ability to translate information about real objects into symbols, manipulate these symbols, find some solution and apply this solution again to objects in practice.

Visual-figurative thinking is a set of methods and processes of figurative problem solving, involving a visual representation of the situation and operating with images of its constituent objects, without performing real practical actions with them. Allows you to most fully recreate the whole variety of various actual characteristics of the subject. An important feature this type of thinking is the establishment of unusual combinations of objects and their properties.

Magical thinking is a set of beliefs in the possibility of a certain way of thinking to influence the real world.

Magical thinking can be defined as belief in supernatural phenomena that somehow affect our world, it can be religious images, mystical images, ufological images (UFOs, aliens). A significant part in the formation of magical thinking is played by culture and society, which largely depends on the family in which a person was brought up, what cultural components are inherent in him, in what society this person lives and works. Mass media is of great importance for the formation of magical thinking.

In general, magical thinking is of key importance for transanalysis, human psychology and anthropology, recently it has become popular to believe in everything unusual and mystical on television, television programs devoted to various anomalous, supernatural phenomena are constantly shown, there are even several television channels that specialize specifically on this topic, apparently one of their goals is the formation of magical thinking among the population. Despite technological progress, modern man is very susceptible to mystical and religious beliefs, in addition to a huge number of religions, faith in God, modern man believes in magic, spirits, ghosts, poltergeists, brownies, mermaids, aliens, UFOs, angels, demons, etc. . Therefore, I consider it simply necessary to fully understand the concept of magical thinking and so let's get started.

Formation of magical thinking

In the formation of magical thinking, several components can be distinguished:

1. Cultural and psychological component. A person acquires magical thinking as a result of education, for example, in a religious family, or in a family that believes in abnormal, supernatural phenomena. As a rule, the child adopts their parents' faith and beliefs, as a result, magical thinking develops. In another case, as a result of obtaining certain knowledge from the media or from society, I decided not to single it out as a separate component, however, the emergence of interest in the supernatural may arise as a result of obtaining information about mysticism, paranormal activity from books, television, radio and the Internet.

2. Predisposition to mysticism. A person has a predisposition to believe in supernatural phenomena, since childhood he has been fascinated by everything mysterious and anomalous, the less he receives his first knowledge from the media.

3. Spontaneous mystical experience. A person can live half his life and never believe in supernatural phenomena, but as a result of certain experiences (not related to the media), for example, the spontaneous manifestation of religious images (god, angel, demon), an encounter with aliens, or some other mystical sign. As a result of various psychotechnics, spiritual practices, drugs such as hallucinogens, psychedelics. A person receives a certain mystical experience, as a result of which magical thinking is formed.

Features of magical thinking

A specific feature of magical thinking is an unshakable belief in supernatural phenomena. People who believe in supernatural phenomena, especially when it comes to religious faith, are deeply convinced of the existence of the supernatural, it can be difficult to convince them of this. Sometimes magical thinking is tried to be faked as scientific research, such individuals claim that their interest in mysticism is connected exclusively with scientific research. The author communicated with these people - in most cases it turned out that this was connected precisely with magical thinking.

It should be borne in mind that magical thinking manifests itself in a different category in a person, magical thinking can be strong, medium and weakly expressed. Strongly expressed is when a person’s whole life is connected with the supernatural, when things get a mystical or animated meaning, for example, a “live” car “hurts” it, the Kursk submarine drowned as a result of the intervention of aliens from a UFO, etc. Magical thinking is moderately expressed - this is when a person believes in the supernatural, but without fanaticism, and can critically evaluate his beliefs. Weakly expressed - allows the existence of the supernatural, but nothing more.

In some cases, magical thinking arises as a result of mystical experience, when a person is, as he believes, something supernatural, in such cases the human psyche changes, for example, from an atheist, he can become a believer of God or weakly expressed magical thinking is amplified several times as a result of mystical experience.

magical thinking and

mental disorders

Psychiatrists argue that magical thinking is often associated with a mental disorder, in psychiatry it is classified in the DSM -IV new code V62.89 "Religious and spiritual problems." As a result of strongly pronounced magical thinking, a person develops psychopathological symptoms, which in modern psychiatry are referred to as schizophrenia, psychoses, hallucinations caused by a mental disorder. There is such a thing in psychology as "locus of control". This is the tendency of a person to attribute certain events in life (success or failure) to external factors - the world around him (external locus of control) or internal factors - to himself (internal locus of control). So people with these disorders most often have an external locus of control and believe that their life can depend on anything from the outside (weather, neighbors, sorcerers, aliens ...), but not on themselves.

Psychiatrists say that people with schizotypal personality disorder do not have an abstract theoretical, but a concrete character that directly correlates with real life. Patients feel the ability to influence others in some way, for example, to convey some of their beliefs to them. However, they do not use these features to attract attention to themselves, they do not strive to seem unusual, they live like that, think and feel like that. The expression that others can feel their feelings and emotions is not metaphorical for them, but concrete. At a younger age, when schizotypal personality disorder has not yet been diagnosed, the equivalent of this feature in children and adolescents is the presence of unusual, fanciful pathological fantasies and over-busy thinking on a particular topic. This can be expressed in certain actions, for example, inventing some kind of game, drawings, the characters of which, on the one hand, live an independent life, and on the other hand, reflect the events taking place in the virtual world.

During the second half of the XX century. significant in volume and diverse in form material has accumulated about the so-called "contacts of the third kind" - the interactions of earthlings with UFO crews. When analyzing this material, the conceptual apparatus of modern psychiatry is of particular interest, in particular, the clinical signs of a hallucinatory-paranoid syndrome - the Kandinsky-Clerambault syndrome (KCS). Its "components" - pseudo-hallucinations, delusions of persecution and influence, phenomena of mental automatism - are somehow seen in the "contact experience".

The most significant difference between pseudohallucinations is the patient's feeling of their "artificial" nature. In the "contactor" experience with extraterrestrial civilizations, the "Higher Intelligence", the "Memory Bank of the Universe", "parallel worlds", etc., are occupied by images that can be identified with visual pseudo-hallucinations.

SBS is observed both in various mental illnesses (schizophrenia, epilepsy, prolonged symptomatic psychoses, chronic alcoholism), and in organic diseases of the brain. So, with a focal lesion of the right hemisphere, a group of paroxysmal disorders of consciousness is associated, which includes “special states of consciousness with the experience of the unreality of the surrounding world”; states with "two-track experiences"; "flashes of experiences in the past"; oneiroid (dream) states.

The latter is of particular interest for the interpretation of certain aspects of the "contactor" experience. With them, patients (as well as participants in "contacts of the third kind") also ignore reality and find themselves in a different world. Patients (as well as "contactees") often note that they do not feel the weight of their own body, they move with "supernatural" speeds; patients say that they swept past other planets, met with aliens. Clinical practice here turns out to be associated with a paradoxographic tradition.

It should be emphasized that the medical-psychiatric (like any other) approach to the analysis of quasi-religious beliefs and superstitions cannot be overestimated. The boundary between pathology and the norm is very conditional, determined by the nature of the culture of the era, the choice of a picture of the world from the diversity that is present in it. What is within various options a scientific picture qualifies as pathology, deviation, in the context of religious, mystical, esoteric pictures of the world it can be the norm; and, accordingly, vice versa.

In Russia, about three hundred thousand healers of various kinds are registered, a significant part of which are mentally ill, who have found a way of self-compensation in quackery. But self-compensating themselves, they decompensate the people.

It should be noted that if relatives “notice” that something is wrong with their child, then this happens already at the stage of deployment of the clinical manifestations of the disease. Naturally, the treatment of patients with developing psychosis to healers leads not only to a more rapid development of the disease, but also to the fixation of painful experiences on the very fact of turning to one or another healer - “I was told that I would be cured faster than anyone else, since I have special abilities , hit me on the hands, and now I hear her voice all the time. The patients were assured that they had a special gift - "contactee", "cleaner", hence the ideas of possessing special abilities appeared - "I must charge people with energy, I must look into everyone's eyes and wish good."

From this point of view of Professor B.S. Frolov, the ratio of norm and pathology in magical thinking is as follows:

Harmonious magical thinking. This includes persons whose focus on God does not interfere, but rather harmonizes social functioning. They are characterized by reverence and love, respect for their own personality and the beliefs of other people, and an orientation towards warm interpersonal relationships.

Magical thinking with short-term religious-mystical states. Includes believers who experience short-term episodes of altered states of consciousness during worship or individual prayers. They should be considered practically healthy if the exit from the condition does not affect social functioning and daily activities.

Magical thinking, weighed down by neurotic mental disorders. Persons with these disorders need psychiatric and psychotherapeutic assistance, which is provided with their consent, mainly on an outpatient basis.

Magical thinking, burdened with psychopathic disorders (religious fanatics, reformers suffering from paranoid psychopathy with overvalued ideas of claim). They need psychiatric and psychotherapeutic assistance, which is provided with their consent, mainly on an outpatient basis. Compulsory psychiatric examination is necessary if their behavior poses a danger to their inner circle, for example, contains calls for sacrifices, suicide, etc.

Magical thinking, weighed down by mental disorders of a psychotic level. Includes patients in whom the pathological process corresponds to the patterns of development of mental illness. Delusions and hallucinations of religious content are combined with other symptoms and syndromes characteristic of a particular nosological entity. They need inpatient treatment. Involuntary hospitalization is used in cases where the mental state poses a danger to the patient himself and to those around him, or there is reason to believe that the disease will worsen without the provision of psychiatric assistance.

Critical and magical thinking

In the previous part, we talked in detail about mental disorders in people with magical thinking. From my point of view, magical thinking should be combined with critical thinking - this is necessary so that a person has “common sense”, all his mystical worldview is combined with a share of criticism of himself and his worldview, otherwise it happens that they slide to the verge between the norm and pathology.

Very many people with magical thinking do not analyze the information that is revealed to them, advanced and perceiving it as it is, as the truth, not thinking about the consequences for themselves and their loved ones. With magical thinking, a mental disorder occurs imperceptibly and fairly quickly, and there is usually only one reason: a person does not comprehend the information that he receives, perceives it as the truth in the first instance, in order to avoid this, you need to analyze all information and thoughts, if there is such an opportunity discuss with other people you trust.

Magical thinking and the psyche

Our psyche is very predisposed to belief in the supernatural, everything that a person cannot explain, he refers to mysticism, this was in ancient times and continues to this day. It also happens that a person with magical thinking takes wishful thinking, seeing mysticism where it is not, and sometimes in everything in a row, but this already borders on pathology.

I believe that people will always believe in the mystical and supernatural, let it be in different forms, different theories, different wrappers, depending on the cultural and psychological component of society, mysticism will always be, for the reason that our psyche has the peculiarity of fantasizing, imagining, and trying to explain all phenomena, often with religious and mystical images, there are a huge number of connections with this religions and mystical schools, and mysticism remains popular at all times, past, present and future. Magical thinking will always exist and change under the influence of time, depending on culture and upbringing, but without a chance to disappear forever, our job is to investigate the phenomenon of magical thinking, since in some cases it performs protective function, protecting a person from shocks - things that he does not yet understand, and on the other hand, the danger of getting a mental disorder. The main features of magical thinking have yet to be studied, the study of magical thinking will help to understand the origin of various anomalous and supernatural phenomena, what are the fantasies of the psyche or real-life phenomena, why do people believe in Gods, demons, angels, UFOs, aliens and much more, we learn with the disclosure of the potential of magical thinking.

The life of a person realizing himself in space modern culture and civilization, is distinguished by the ever-increasing intensification of life. Increasing flow of information requires more and more productive activities cognitive processes, above all thinking. At the same time, using more and more psychic energy to the detriment of other aspects of the activity of the psyche. The described situation introduces a person into a situation of stress, and a very multi-level one.

The requirements of the social environment for the intensification of mental activity imply appropriate socialization on its part. However, neither the experience of parents nor the education system provides methods, methods or skills of the appropriate level. Maximum emotional tension, connected, again, with the intensification of social activity, and intellectual tension literally break the source of psychic energy in a person. The contradiction between the inherent inferiority complex of a person and the requirement to be as complete as possible creates a constant basis for existential anxiety.

A person has three ways to get out of stress. The first one is purely technogenic: on the one hand, merging nervous system and the brain with information devices to significantly enhance the processing of information, and adjust their psychophysical states through chemo- and electro-correction (stimulation) - on the other hand. Work in this direction is already underway and there are first positive results. But global, mass "matrixilization" is still far away.

No less fantastic is the utopian idea of a global change in the education system (for short term) in the key of a completely different paradigm of the formation of cognitive processes.

The human psyche itself finds a way out. In stressful situations, the so-called relic mechanisms of the psyche come to the forefront of mental activity, i.e. levels of the psyche, formed in the early stages of development. This applies equally to the process of thinking.

In general, the task of thinking is to understand the event, determine the cause of its occurrence and anticipate events in the future.

The thought model I introduced was called "an evolutionary model of the structure of thinking".

Its general structure is as follows:

  1. mystical thinking,

  2. magical thinking,

  3. mythological thinking,

  4. Logical thinking.

Three pre-logical levels in psychology are called archaic thinking.

Mystical and magical thinking has three main distinguishing features:

  1. Constant search and determination in the environment (and at three levels - material, social and informational) of the Demiurge Force and determination of one's place under the auspices of the Force.

  2. Existential awareness of basic homeostasis - the gestalt "man-environment" and the desire of the environment itself to restore emerging homeostasis disturbances (which is actively used by magical thinking).

  3. The absence of cause-and-effect relationships familiar to logical thinking (which distinguishes logical thinking from hierarchical thinking).

Mythological thinking develops when a person masters speech and "I" - the concept (at the age of 2.5-3 years). In mythological thinking, a person links together mystical and magical thinking with real, concrete life experience into a single, consistent scheme. The scheme in which the "I" occupies a certain position-role relative to the Force and determines the path of Development of the "I" - according to a certain archetype. Mythological thinking has all the features of the mystical and magical, but develops only in the process of socialization in a certain cultural environment. Here moral and moral categories, foresight of the future, its forecasting are determined.

With the development of certain structures of the brain, logical thinking develops. Its main difference is the emergence of awareness of cause-and-effect relationships, the systematization of real experience, the provision of specific operations, the understanding of being in the context of the laws of cause and effect. Modern authors note that logical and magical thinking are not much different from each other in terms of the effectiveness of cognition of the world.

Logic works well in a known and oriented living space. In fact, logical thinking is a magical ritual, with the help of which we isolate a part of the Universe from global synchrony and introduce it under the influence of logical laws (everything that does not correspond to the laws is not taken into account). Moreover, logical thinking provides us with functioning outside stressful situations - outside the “novelty”, which disrupts the usual course of things. When “novelty” appears, mythological thinking (which can also be disguised as logical) will turn on.

Logical thinking goes through two stages of development. First: household - ordinary (development begins with it). Here, logical thinking provides specific operations in a specific familiar space, based on individual everyday experience. But it does not master the main quality of thinking - generalization.

Scientific thinking, due to the property of global generalization, is similar to mystical, because It can also extend its action to areas that are unattainable by direct perception. Developed scientific thinking occupies a leading role in the consciousness of a mature person and organizes the subordinate work of thinking as a whole, including itself and the archaic levels of thinking, giving them conscious content and integral functioning as a single system. Moreover, taking them beyond the boundaries strictly determined by biological experience, when mystical and magical thinking turn on only during times of stress and generate absolutely opposite states and needs (passivity - activity, submission - dominance, etc.).

In the normal development of thinking, logical thinking tries to "organize" the mythological description of the world, the magical actions in the world, and the mystical experience of experiencing the world into a single, consistent system. At the same time, trying to create such laws in the absence of the necessary logical laws. Normally (from the point of view of a self-actualizing, harmoniously and holistically developing personality), logical thinking should find explanations for the facts of mystical and magical experience, thereby consciously knowing the world.

Developed (scientific) logical thinking takes on the functions of magic, initially based on the primary myth (formed in the process of culturalization), and then creating its own myth - a description of the world, based on the logical laws realized and lived by the individual. With their help, a person most harmoniously structures - ritualizes the environment and his ideas about time - space. With the help of logical thinking, he determines (learns) the laws according to which the struggle for territory, for dominance, for a resource becomes meaningless and irrelevant. With the help of logical thinking, he rationalizes the work of mystical thinking, transferring it to a creative, non-aggressive channel, that is, he gives magical thinking the features of thinking as such - finding creative ways of self-realization in the transformation and creation of the living environment that are not available either in the environment or in the consciously accessible to him. experience.

mystical thinking

Mystical thinking is related to work limbic system. Its task is, by influencing the force that itself affects the living space, to achieve its voluntary decision from the force: to change the space so that a person feels good in it. At the same time, mystical thinking strives to make a person dependent on power - but after a while, power without a person loses its integrity and essence ...

The R-complex "gives good" to the work of the senses. The limbic system captures "aromas" - radiations produced by the source of changes. That is, the limbic system expands the analysis of the properties of changes - and not only those that directly affect the stability of the energy-information picture, but also accompanying ones that do not affect life processes in any way (or rather, the influence of these influences does not disrupt the course of existing processes).

It is at the level of the limbic system that we understand that "It" is not only bodily pleasant, but also smells good and tastes great. That “It” can not only be safely absorbed, but also reacted to its smell… That “It” is not just sticky, but also smelly… Or, vice versa, pleasant to smell and sweet.

Based on the analysis of "flavors", the limbic system makes a conclusion - to connect with the object or reject it.

At this level, the "mistakes" of the undeveloped P-complex can be corrected.

Suppose he “missed” a low-quality sausage and you still picked it up, but the limbic system based on smell (in the extreme case, already taste) will draw certain conclusions and send the activation of the necessary reactions to the body.

The limbic system creates a more holistic picture of the properties of space changes.

There is still no "autonomous entity" for the limbic system. For her, the "object" is his aura, his "glow". His aura of smell, his aura of subtle manifestations, his aura of light - that is, electromagnetic radiation, which our psyche represents in the concept of "light" and "color". There is still no "object" here - there is an "aura". She is a reality for the limbic system.

It should be noted that the limbic system can also work independently - when the P-complex is "silent", tracking a stable-unchanging (from its point of view) energy field picture. At the same time, the work of the Limbic system can turn on the work of the R-complex, creating an illusion for it external changes. It is at the level of the limbic system that we ourselves can emit “flavors” that make us experience other people and forces as “ours”, “beloved”, “desired”, “protected”, and so on. Aromas can be both banal pheromones or selected perfumes, as well as complex

magical thinking

Magical thinking is provided by work reptilian complex(spinal cord and midbrain). Its task is to control the living space by distributing the places of those forces that can influence the space, keeping them in these places, determining the format of their functioning and interaction with a person. At the same time, one of the main tasks is to preserve our own independence in these relations and maintain stability.

The R-complex traces the picture of the stability of the relationship between the electromagnetic structure “man” and the electromagnetic structure “space of human life” (we can talk about energy-information or energy-field structure, this will not change the essence).

The R-complex is the primary link in the processing of information received by the receptors of the sense organ. We are talking about the primary level of perception - the body-energy level, the so-called "sixth sense". The sixth sense is the "customs house" for the rest of the senses. If at the level of the R-complex a certain signal is not passed into the psyche, rejected, then the rest of the senses will not respond to it.

And vice versa: if a person’s P-complex is activated for the perception of a wide sphere, then the person will develop “extrasensory” perception - he will perceive what other people cannot notice and diagnose with the help of their usual senses.

There are no "objects" for a P-complex. The R-complex, and, consequently, the entire human psyche, is not capable of perceiving some autonomously valuable “objects”, “objects”, etc.

It perceives Structure Changes, not the "object" that may have caused those changes. The R-complex reacts not to the object, and not to the properties of the object that has appeared in the living space, but reacts to the changes that the object makes.

He perceives a complete picture of electromagnetic (energy-informational) processes in their active interaction. And reacts to changes in this picture. As long as the picture is stable, well-established, as long as the fluctuations of the structure or its individual parts do not go beyond certain limiting threshold values, the complex is “calm”, it does not “disturb” the psyche and the person with its signals.

His "diagnosing part" contains a certain "reference sample" of the structure, with which he constantly compares the perceived picture of reality.

Each reference period of time (the shorter it is, the faster the reaction of a person to changes) the R-complex captures a complete picture of the structure (like an “instant photo”). Then he compares it with a "reference sample". If there is no difference with the "standard" - good. If there is a difference, but the changes do not exceed the threshold values, everything is fine. As soon as changes in the structure exceed the threshold value, attention is activated and the diagnosis of the perceived impact begins. What is determined by what change threatens the holistic picture of the interaction of the structure "man" and the structure "environment", and also how does it affect these structures?

Moreover, if the change acquires a stable character, and the “man” continues to function stably in the changed environment, then the R-complex adapts to the changes.

Also, the R-complex will not perceive extremely powerful influences that greatly exceed the threshold of perception. He will generally turn off, cease to play the role of a "customs officer", not reacting in any way and not stimulating the body to an adequate reaction.

In this case, the rest of the senses may turn on, interacting with the perceived information beyond the control of the R-complex and "trying" to compensate for it. In this case, a person will see an extremely diverse, complex and exciting picture, usually hidden from his perception.

The same can be done by "turning off" the P-complex chemically or as a result of severe physiological or mental stress. As well as a purposeful method of destroying the "picture of the world" - the practice of Chan and Zen, the approach of Don Juan ...

This explains the phenomena of the discovery of paranormal abilities, first of all, the perception of people who have experienced accidents, accompanied by psychological and physical injuries, experienced clinical death, lightning strikes or electric current, and so on.

So: the P-complex perceives changes in the energy field structure of space, caused, first of all, by the appearance of new objects in it. And not the "object" itself, as an autonomous unit.

It's not all that simple, actually. we are talking not about the changes themselves, but about the processes occurring in the R-complex, which are caused by the perception of these external changes.

R-complex, according to by and large, reacts to the changes that have occurred in its “diagnosing part” under the influence of the analysis of “pictures of the world”. However, changes can occur due to several reasons.

External changes in the structure of the space "environment".

Internal changes in the structure of space "man".

Changes in the diagnostic part itself.

And whatever the nature of the causes of the changes, the R-complex will accept only the perceived changes, without any understanding of their causes (it simply does not have the functionality for this).

When the R-complex has detected transthreshold changes, it “decides” whether to leave the source of the changes in its living space or not. And if left, he decides where to move it or move himself, so that the impact of the object is “zero” (does not affect the established picture) or “positive” (supports the processes of “reference structures”).

The R-complex does not react to neutral objects (which do not change the structure of energy lines). That is, for him they simply do not exist.

Why does the P-complex do this at all? The task of the R-complex is to get orientation in the surrounding space, a kind of map of energy fields, based on which one can plan further actions. When the “structure map” changes drastically (going beyond the limits of threshold values), the complex reacts - after all, the “map” must be either stable or rhythmically changing, that is, predictable. From here we love rhythm in music, in patterns, in communication, in storytelling - everywhere.

mythological thinking

Mythological thinking works on the basis of the cortex and, most likely, on the basis of the cerebral cortex of the right hemisphere. Its task: to provide the psyche with working behavioral scenarios.

The psyche, on the basis of the "indications" of the R-complex and the limbic system, at the level of mythological thinking, selects a certain scenario. It can be archetypal (innate), received as a result of imprinting from parents, it can be selected from previously lived scenarios (their basis is archetypal anyway), or it can line up as a new scenario from basic scenario elements.

This is a scenario of our behavior in space, where there are predetermined “such” changes and “such” auras. And according to this scenario, the psyche understands how to react to “such” changes and to “such” auras, what actions to perform.

At the same time, at the mythological level, scenarios leading to drastic changes will be rejected and scenarios that give stability will be welcomed. After all, the choice of scenario begins to change the structure of the "man" and its influence on the structure of the "environment". After that, the P-complex is switched on again. At the level of bodily reactions, he directs the process of script activation and tries to block "developing" scripts.

The circle is closed.

Where is the mind? Where is the ratio? Where I am"? And nowhere.

What Eastern philosophers say directly, especially Taoists, from whom all Eastern philosophy originated: “Turn off the mind. Surrender to the wild, primary nature. Get rid of the "I". Enter Tao and Non-Action. Get rid of yourself…”

But what to do with the developed structures of the neocortex and the experience of at least secondary education, the magazine “I Want to Know Everything” and the program “Field of Miracles”?

Yes, nowhere. You just need to create an absolutely unreal reality, an illusory reality of logical thinking and occupy these 3-5% of the psyche. And then it gets boring...

Rational-logical thinking is included.

Only after that rational thinking tries to understand something about the essence of the object itself. Rather, based on the information received from the reptilian and limbic complexes, as well as the certainties of the mythological scenario, he concludes that: a) the object of influence exists and b) it has the essence corresponding to the properties of change.

In accordance with these conclusions, the properties of the object and their conscious attitude towards it are interpreted.

Note that the ordinary mind does not take into account the work of the R-complex - it replaces “changes in space” with “the presence of an object” and attributes to it the properties tracked by the limbic system. Only with certain practices, a person takes into account “fields”, “impact”, “sensation” ... The ordinary mind carefully avoids these disturbingly incomprehensible signals, flawlessly closing any possibility of contact with objective reality, changing it to manipulations with one’s own reality of “representations” and mental constructs .

Still, the object is unknowable. There are only our assumptions about its existence, the essence and nature of the properties that rational thinking identifies with the object. That is, he presents his illusions as reality. Whether there is an object, whether it does not exist, these are its properties or, in fact, others - rational thinking does not care. The main thing is what is taken for an object - one's own Representations about the object.

Consider the three main types of rational logical thinking (here are my classification nuances):

Everyday: Leninist, "a reality given to us in direct sensation." Experience is acquired and accepted only through direct manipulations with real material "objects". If it is impossible to “touch” (to interact at the level of the P-complex), then this does not exist.

Scientific and mythological: manipulates pure ideas and concepts, absolutely does not need some embodiment of them as proof of the truth of concepts. By and large, it will always come down to religious-mythological thinking - belief in some non-embodiable idea that governs all life processes in the universe. Excellent examples of scientific and mythological thinking: scientific schools, in every possible way ignoring the facts that go against their concepts. Or the confidence of many people in "their own picture of the world", which completely rejects any views, concepts and facts that do not coincide with it.

Scientific-magical: capable of both operating with ideas and concepts at the level of the Universe and God, and finding or creating a reality that will bring us the necessary results in direct sensation. Results that are previously formulated and formed in the form of objects - ideas. At the same time, due to volitional effort, a person builds himself under the picture of the world, and through the R-complex influences the surrounding space.

At the level of conscious work of the mind (and this is the only thing that is really “consciously”), we can control the entire layer of archaic thinking through the creation of mental constructs that are consciously practiced by the scenario and consciously evoked emotional states.

Even at the simplest level, the Mind is able to actively influence the work of the whole organism. To create such mental constructs that will be perceived by archaic thinking as real objects.

We consciously ask:

what should be (how external reality should change)

what to do about it (how our activities should change)

how to experience it (how the inner reality should change)

Bottom line: The R-complex creates objective changes in reality.

Scientific magical thinking has two approaches: self-control or reality control.

“Self-management” is to create some kind of speculative construction that will replace reality, while believing that reality is exactly like this and begin to behave based on these ideas. Ideally, experience is gained, the system is corrected, and in the end it does not matter whether it corresponds to some “truth” or not. What is important is that actions based on this system give a positive result. By and large, this is a manifestation of a developed and mind-controlled mythological thinking.

This is the “way of the jester” - outwardly such a person can live in very strange ideas about himself and the world, behave more than inadequately to generally accepted standards, he can be generally misunderstood and incomprehensible - but in life he always gets what he needs and is where necessary.

"Management of reality" - to create mental analogues of objects, as close as possible to reality, tracked by the R-complex and stimulate your psyche for certain actions. That is, to create a reality that coincides with the external one, but structured in such a way that all its elements are harmoniously positive for a person. This is the "path of the magician", using the developed R-complex and the corresponding magical thinking.

The R-complex has an important function for us: it can itself influence the energy field structure of space. That, changing under this influence, begins to influence the sources of energy field structures and the changes that create them.

Changes when? When the structure "man" changed and became "stronger" - more integral and stable than the structure "space". Homeostasis "man-space" must be achieved and the R-complex changes the space so that it is homeostatic with "man". This, in fact, is the whole "magic". Hence the "magician" is an internally integral and integral person, having a very integral and individually significant picture of Reality and possessing a significant "energy potential".

Not so long ago, my colleague Pavel Zygmantovich posted a series of notes about children's and magical thinking and why "reality transurfing" does not work. You can find it here: part 1, part 2, part 3.

It was interesting, I promised to write an answer, which I do. For those who are interested, please...

I deliberately waited for the third note, as I assumed that it would largely smooth out the impression of the somewhat provocative first two. Therefore, in fact, there is nothing much to argue with, but there is something to add.

1. What are we "against" against?

It seems to me that it is not correct to identify children's thinking, magical thinking and infantilism - these are three different categories. Children's thinking- well, because this is a necessary stage in the development of the child. When it remains in adulthood, it is infantilism. Infantilism does not have to be accompanied by magical thinking, and magical thinking does not have to be infantile. It's like warm and soft - different categories. By the way, infantile thinking is quite possible within the framework of the natural-science approach. But (British) scientists found out that... and so now I will.....

As far as I understand, Paul, as always, is against infantilism, that is, for responsibility and awareness. That's agreed.

2. What are the thoughts.

The type of thinking that Paul calls adult, I would define as natural science or positivist. Our civilization now stands on it, and I fully welcome it in this capacity. I am also against the Middle Ages and obscurantism. Our state is secular - honor to him for this and praise. And since it also allows freedom of conscience and beliefs, then everyone can personally choose the type of thinking that is closer to him. Because the natural-scientific type of thinking works well within a large group of people - it is easy for them to agree with each other on a common basis and at the same time leave enough freedom, but does not fully satisfy the needs of the individual.

For example, this type of thinking has a lot of disadvantages. Starting with the fact that science is terribly bone and clumsy, and all scientific breakthroughs are almost always the result of a loner who opposes himself to the generally accepted system of scientific views, and not the result of a consensus of pundits. Yes, achievements in medicine due to science are unique, while the medical system is a machine that grinds the individual hard in accordance with the limited possibilities of today. Everything would be cut by these surgeons - I will give a pill and it will fall off by itself. Scientific thinking speaks of the potential ability to know everything in the world with the help of the mind. It is more pleasant for me to consider that the world is a huge unknowable mystery, of which man is also a part.

And here we come to magical thinking and mystical thinking. I separate them on purpose because they act differently.

magical thinking- is to change something inside yourself (mood, understanding, etc.) in order to change the external situation. This can be explained in any way - with terrible esoteric words, or psychological phenomena of selective perception, NLP-era "filters" or any other scientific or quasi-scientific nonsense. All the same, all these are just words and we can only guess from our belfry of knowledge and beliefs about how it works. Anyone who says - "I know for sure that this works because and only because of this" - at best, just lies to himself.

If we turn away from magical thinking and rely only on scientific, then we are also forced to give up such bonuses as intuition, (often not justified by rational facts) faith in ourselves and our luck, etc. etc. Psychosomatics, by the way, is a typical example of magical thinking. A significant part of psychology in the strictest sense of the word is unscientific and relies on magical thinking (at least wherever the "unconscious", "archetypes", "subpersonalities", etc. appear)

If in magical thinking a person relies primarily on his strength and his actions, then in mystical- on the faith and help of God (gods). And if we give up mystical thinking, we are forced to give up the strength that faith can give a person. Here that is called - without comments.

3. Good-bad.

I am very complacent about all kinds of beliefs. "Everyone chooses for himself - a woman, a religion, a road." So let them choose - at least as long as they remain within the legal space. Even the most ridiculous idea, as practice shows, will have followers. If it helps them - yes, as much as you like. Transurfing helps - let them surf, I have nothing against it. Totally agree.

4. Works or does not work.

Magical, like mystical thinking, works. They have been used from time immemorial and the same number of centuries will pass after us - they will use them. Both children and adults. And respectable businessmen with factories and steamships as well. Regarding the crooked - there is a hypothesis that this is just when there is an admixture of infantilism. Now let me explain how.
Infantile approach, this is when, in order to get money, for example, I do absolutely nothing except hang a Chinese coin on the wall or close the toilet lid from now on. Praying for a win - not buying my "lottery ticket" and rejecting the boat and helicopter, pleading for salvation.
Adult Approach- when I know (or in some case I assume) that a certain attitude, ritual or prayer can help me. Let them add at least a modicum of self-confidence, or luck, or a sense of choosing the right moment for decisive action... If I am a practical person, I will take advantage of this.

And then it doesn’t matter what helped me, for example, to recover: a doctor’s pill, psychosomatics, affirmations, homeopathy, or the hands of a friend practicing the third degree of Reiki. I will probably never know which of these worked, or perhaps it all worked together - but the result is there, and that suits me. To explain this only with one thing and nothing else means returning to infantilism and putting on certain lenses.

Thus the criterion of infantilism is wishful thinking, fitting the facts, or deceiving oneself. The criterion of adulthood is honesty with oneself (doing everything necessary) and openness to the perception of other views on the world, oneself, a problem, etc. By the way, you can completely blink in natural-scientific views.

Again, it is not so important where the entrance to magical thinking comes from - everything around is saturated with it anyway ... Someone empirically determined that a certain mood or action works for him. Another believes in the wisdom of the ancestors, who marked, for example, certain stages of life and years with certain rituals. To the third, knowledge is transmitted from parents and their parents, and so on. For some, rituals are part of their faith. In the end, it is not known what would have happened to us if, for example, the monk Alexander Peresvet had wavered in his faith.

And finally - I am unfolding the picture now exclusively in a practical way, leaving out of the brackets what an intoxicating feeling it is just to feel like a child in the arms of God. Or how amazing it is to notice that certain changes that have occurred in consciousness work in life. And how stuffy sometimes it is in the captivity of natural-scientific explanations that clearly do not satisfy the consciousness, avoiding answers to the most important questions, etc. and so on

5. Afterword

I, like Pavel, have an extremely negative attitude towards the moments when magical thinking begins to be used within the framework of the state. Because this is the right of the individual, but not of the structure. Like faith: as long as it is in the heart, this is wonderful, but when it becomes a state doctrine, nothing good can be expected. But, returning to the events in Kyrgyzstan... It seems to me that the belated post-Soviet "Middle Ages" has come. Remember, after all, not so long ago, Chumak used to charge "crema" from the screens of all TVs in the country. This is, of course, obscurantism, but who are we to deprive them of this "childhood" of the nation - let them clean their solar chakras. Everything passes and this will pass.

And then you will plunge into the abyss of your own eternity, your own infinity.

You suddenly realize quite physically that your age is calculated not in years, but in eternity, that you yourself represent eternity and infinity at the same time.

I would like to immediately note that there are quite a lot of publications and articles on this topic. Enough points of view. A number of points of view in this article about magical thinking, magical vision of the world are not just reasoning, assumptions or hypotheses. These are points of view confirmed not only by theory, but also by real practice. The point, after all, lies precisely in the fact that everyone who thinks "not quite standard", paradoxically, just possess "magic" thinking to one degree or another.

Undoubtedly, non-standard thinking has an organic combination of the "rational" style of thinking and the "irrational" style of thinking. Moreover, the latter (irrational) is not just present there, but is the basic basis of magical thinking. Naturally, the most knowledgeable part of society quite consciously did not just guess about it. They undoubtedly used these mechanisms to achieve certain goals, either social or religious.

Naturally, this has always meant the use of these abilities in the development of science, art, medicine, psychology, etc. And this has always been the case. But there was always a very definite attitude towards such a style of thinking, a style of existence. And in general to such people. Magical thinking is characteristic of deeply conscious, always having their own point of view, and therefore free, sober-minded creative people.

Who will like it? The answer is very clear. True, times are gradually changing. Such people were usually afraid of their ignorance of their environment, although they intuitively understood that it was difficult to do without them. Now most of humanity has begun to understand that being illiterate, not talented, in our time, at least, is troublesome, and shameful. Even though they are proud of it. But this is a slightly different topic.

The magical style of thinking - as non-standard thinking, this is naturally one of the points of view and it is fundamentally correct. At the heart of any thinking, as you know, is CONSCIOUSNESS. Or, in other words, thinking is a manifestation of the activity of consciousness, its direct confirmation. Otherwise, it just doesn't happen. But, nevertheless, on the other hand, thinking itself is not just a manifestation of the activity of consciousness, it is one of the facets of the state of consciousness.

His form of existence. One simply does not exist without the other. A paradoxical, purely philistine situation arises - who is in charge? Which reality is primary and which is secondary. Or, speaking more scientifically, which of them is the reality of "begetting" and which of them is the reality of "begetting"? Notice that in almost any situation, in any reasoning, one and the same position dominates, cause-and-effect.

The cause gives rise to the effect, which means it is more important. But the consequence is naturally secondary. But here's the problem. After all, the effect inevitably turns into a cause immediately, instantly into a cause that generates the next effect, and this happens simultaneously. But who said that this process develops exclusively in one direction? Who defined it? Yes, no one. This, oddly enough, is not true.

It is quite natural that the consequence, continuously generating the cause (everything is vice versa), develops in the same way any process in the opposite direction. Our consciousness by and large (that is, our essence) develops and exists simultaneously in two time streams directed in opposite directions relative to each other and directed in opposite directions to each other.

An example is two trains traveling in opposite directions. And who can say whether they are moving towards a meeting, towards each other, or away from each other? Based on the principle of relativity, these two processes occur simultaneously. For a person of ordinary thinking, this is at best just a hypothesis, or complete nonsense that does not deserve attention, which has no practical application.

For magical thinking, magical vision of the world, this is a completely normal position, which has a completely normal practical use in real life. Paradox? Not at all. The paradox exists in this situation only for people with unidirectional, linear thinking.

Why are we discussing this a little now? The fact is that it is easy to guess that there has always been a dispute in the human environment, which comes first - matter or consciousness? Is consciousness a product of brain activity (a typical position of a proctologist), or vice versa? And much more. Simply put, magical thinking is multifaceted, at the same time multidirectional, multidimensional thinking.

This is sometimes difficult to understand from the standpoint of the "rational" side of consciousness, but it is a fact. And here is where the "irrational" side of consciousness enters the scene. The “irrational” has all the characteristics of a quantum liquid.* The “irrational” facet of consciousness continuously, every moment, processes a truly universal volume of information.

This is a continuous stream of consciousness, operating with a truly infinite volume of emotional meanings, the lion's share of which simply never go into the conscious space of the "Rational" edge of consciousness - or a discrete stream of consciousness.

I would like to note that the excessive dominance of one or another component (either rational or irrational) in our activity always leads to a fairly pronounced bias.

And such a state as "magical thinking" manifests itself very weakly, and very spontaneously. Moreover, it is consciously not under control - accidentally lucky, random insight, etc. A person is either overly emotional and therefore simply reacts to the situation (reactive style of behavior), and thinking, in the absence of pronounced external stimuli, passes into a sluggish current stage of half-asleep drowsy existence (until they kick and think to move).

A striking example is the position of the crocodile, the position of the lazy cat.

Moreover, here, as usual, there is very little logic, sobriety of thinking – ‘no words, just drooling’. And of course, endless and very tough, most often unfounded claims and demands on the external environment, the outside world.

Or vice versa, a person is overly rational, overly logical. And here there will be another extreme. But in both versions, the result is the same - the almost complete absence of a creative state - (ideas are born by chance, and if they happen, then in pain), and, as usual, both of them have the same claims and endless requirements.

It's not because they are "bad", it's just that more often they are. A person with magical thinking naturally understands this, and usually knows how to act in such cases, when interacting with people of a similar style of existence.

Naturally, if a person really wants to get out of this unproductive state, out of this vicious circle, then he will always find ways to achieve his goal.

What signs correspond to a harmonious, balanced state?

A person with a magical style of thinking is both rational and consciously irrational at the same time. He is not so much reactive in his behavior as active. It is not so much the situations that shape him as he shapes the situations. He creates his own reality by creatively relating himself to the world (humility is to be in a productive dialogue with the world, and not to be a slave to someone who creates circumstances in relation to you), or in an aggressive position regarding the world.

A real magician understands such a concept as "humility" in this vein, and here slave psychology - the psychology of a freeloader, or aggressive psychology - the reverse position of the same slave psychology simply does not work. For this is simply not productive. Or, more simply, the magician does not obeys someone's will (psychology of a slave), the magician takes into account the circumstances that have arisen and in any case actively resolves the situation in the most rational way.

He does not obey the law - he uses the law as a tool. Moreover, and this is extremely important, he will not serve any foreign complexes, as well as his own. This position, as you understand, radically distinguishes a person of magical thinking from an ordinary, socially conditioned person, which means a person with socially conditioned thinking.

And these signs were very characteristic always. Even in ancient times, a universal thesis was formulated, and it always said that: “Those who create the rules live by exceptions.” In this version, this is not a position of terry egoism, but oddly enough, this is a position of creative search. After all, always obeying some kind of rules , you will never create exceptions, something not standard and not usual.

Genius, in terms of ordinary person, always slightly crazy, because he is unconventional in his decisions.

Flexibility of thinking is one of the most important criteria of magical thinking. And therefore, any normal system, any school, first of all, focuses on the development of non-standard, flexibility, conscious irrationality of thinking. The effectiveness of technology in real life is the most important indicator of the effectiveness of a real magic school. Here they not only teach how to effectively use magic algorithms to solve a variety of problems, they teach how to effectively create algorithms for solving a variety of, sometimes more often non-standard problems.

And this is an active position of consciousness. What does this imply? Magical thinking always involves active interaction with the past (the magician's past is not a bygone reality, not an area of obsolete and irrevocable memories, but a completely active, living reality), with the present, and naturally with the future. For magical thinking, on the one hand, the future is probabilistic (a set of probabilities), and on the other hand, each probability is a very real, living, physically embodied and realized facet of its existence.

In this reality, I always choose and implement some one from a set of probabilistic solutions, but not all probabilities not realized in this reality are empty dreams and abstractions, but completely physically embodied options in other parallel worlds. That is why magical thinking person, always understanding this circumstance, he is very careful with his thoughts and ideas.

His thought is filled with clarity, concrete, and very precisely aimed at the goal - targeted thinking. What is it, targeted thinking, and how can this state be achieved, at least in a general approximation? He understands that his every thought is certainly physically confirmed, but it is confirmed only in this reality and nowhere else. Another thing is that in addition to understanding and awareness, constant practice and discipline of the mind are always needed.

The discipline of the mind is an indispensable sign of the magical style of thinking, the magical perception of the world. And in this world, and in all other variants of its simultaneous presence in other worlds, in other spaces. We continuously generate and embody our reality in all realities, in all spaces simultaneously. There is such a simple ancient truth: “We must always live up to our dream, our future, because the future is not somewhere ahead, it is always present and comes right now with our thoughts”, “Rethinking and changing the scenario of the ever-existing past, we immediately we change reality in our now and naturally in our tomorrow.”

Yes, this is true, we can dream about our future here and now, and create it. But in the same way, we can dream about the future of our past here and now and also create it. Everything is interconnected, everything generates each other continuously and simultaneously. And at the same time, each probability as completely inimitable and unique is realized only once in its own time and in its own coordinate system.

Magical thinking is also characterized by a position of equivalence in the world. What does this mean? What does this principle say? “Everything in the world is equivalent due to its absolute originality and its absolute uniqueness.” Every person, every being, every form of consciousness is one single and unique “Probability” of manifestation of the world space of consciousness.

Note that all forms in the world space of consciousness are just probabilities, and only in this we are all equal. Or as the ancients say - he is a different me and vice versa - I am a different he. It may be strange, but it's a fact. From this one can easily guess that there really is no death. We not only prolong ourselves in children at the genetic level, we in the process of our existence generate in ourselves a progressively new reality, a new personality.

And when the physical confirmation of one of our probabilities ends, at the same moment our consciousness on the transphysical level begins to generate itself in a new physical confirmation. In the form of a new completely unique and never unrepeatable probability. As they say, there ahead, everything depends entirely on oneself. It should only be noted that any state, any idea develops progressively.

Any program can be progressively curtailed, or it can be progressively deployed. Everything is in our hands. Thought constantly, continuously generates the world. It is impossible to stop this process even for a moment. Apparently it's not in the script. Even if we stop the internal dialogue and create a state of absolute silence, we are constantly being in it in fact - constantly generating - creating this silence.

We constantly generate in ourselves the desire to be in this state, to be in this silence. And note that our space of consciousness is always relative, relative to our generated silence. On the one hand, we are this silence, and on the other hand, since we are aware of this and generate it, we continuously observe our silence, which means that we are simultaneously outside this silence.

“I think my thought,” said the boa constrictor from the cartoon about the boa constrictor and his friends. In this version, one can say that being in a state of silence, I continuously think my silence. I am everywhere and nowhere at the same time. I am both an observer and an observed simultaneously and continuously. Perhaps , many will say, but not much attention is paid to the principle of relativity in this version?

This is one of the fundamental principles on the basis of which the program of a discrete stream of consciousness exists and is progressively deployed.

The discrete flow embodies the principle of relativity. Every moment a person changes and naturally, having moved to another functional state, he does not correspond to the coordinate system in which he was a moment ago. It no longer coincides with it and naturally ends up in a different coordinate system. And this happens continuously, constantly. Note that it does not move to another coordinate system, it ends up there.

And now he is already relative to himself, to his former coordinate system, he has become different. And he remembers and perceives himself from the outside, as no longer just another person, but as another himself. He has the ability to compare himself now with himself in the past (the concept of memory). Everything is relative. But, nevertheless, always in parallel and simultaneously there are two options.

This is when I remember myself then from the outside. I remember those events from the outside and this is one option - external. And the second type of memories is when, for example, I have a dream, where I directly experience those memories, those events to the smallest detail. An example is the state of a person in a deep trance state, where he actually lives for some period of his life. And if now he sees badly (age defects of vision), but then he saw perfectly, then he sees, as he saw then.

But pay attention, while actually living that state, he is no longer relative to that event, he no longer knows about it now, he is there in his memory, in his reality. And he is relative to himself that he was before. He just lives there and that says it all. It's like an endless movie, consisting of a series of endless sequence of images - files. Like a movie.

Each frame is relative to another frame, and between them there is an insurmountable abyss, albeit an infinitely small one, but an abyss**. And each frame can know about the other, only from the outside (an external observer). But as soon as he becomes one, he is no longer able to know about himself from the side of that future, he simply became what he was before. That's how it is for each of us. We simultaneously exist in every memory - a state of integrity and at the same time totally relative.

What an interesting conclusion emerges from this situation. Each person, each being with total integrity, continuity, simultaneously consists of an innumerable number (options), we would say - manifests itself in the new universe from nothing from the point of view of an external observer. And on the other hand, it, passing into another functional state, generates new system coordinates, he himself, changing, creates his universe and himself corresponds to it.

Or, as they always used to say in Russia, - what are themselves, such are the sledges. You can naturally ask yourself the question, what does the magical vision of the world, magical thinking have to do with it? What does this race have to do with it. Or, as they always used to say in Russia, - what are themselves, such are the sledges. You can naturally ask yourself the question, what does the magical vision of the world, magical thinking have to do with it?

What does this reasoning have to do with actual magical practice? Yes, the most direct. Any normal person extracts experience from some variants of his past existence, but notice, most often it is like a data bank here and now. And very rarely does anyone think that it is possible not just to use memory, but to actually use those realities that exist in us in the form of our countless "Selves" as thinking evolving centers.

After all, each of our invariant "I" is not just some kind of dynamic stereotype, frozen in the form of an energy circuit, what is usually called "memory". This is one of our probabilistic, in its own way unique, constantly developing facets of our own personality. And let this our probabilistic facet of our personality work with your idea precisely as a person, and not as a simple source of information.

Imagine, to you from your hypothetical future for you, not just someone appears, but you yourself. And in dialogue with you, he hands you his idea from his (your) future. And you suddenly realize that you, enriched by your own idea from your own future, will come there completely different - a real connection of times. You really establish a dialogue with yourself with the past, while the past will begin to establish a real dialogue with you in the future.

A so-called hyperspatial, hyperdynamic supertemporal contour will emerge. These technologies are directly related to the creation of one's own transpersonal, transphysical reality. This is a completely unique dynamic stereotype of the space of consciousness. By doing so, you activate different realities of your space of consciousness along the time scale and create a qualitatively different space of thinking.

This is the magical vision of the world, magical thinking. There are quite real technologies for creating such a configuration of consciousness. And it is in the process of mastering these technologies that interesting multidimensional options for perceiving the world arise. I would like to note that twenty-two basic functional states of the space of consciousness are used to create such a configuration.

This is not entirely from the field of modern psychology, although it is related to this. But the creation of the philosophical principles of such configurations will be discussed a little later in the following articles.

* Liquid helium is a quantum liquid, it has superfluidity, a metal circuit placed in liquid helium acquires such a quality as superconductivity, and once electricity is passed through it, it moves without experiencing any resistance. Liquid helium has one interesting feature, it flows simultaneously from one point in opposite directions at the same time.

**The discrete state of either space or time always implies the presence of gaps between elements. Let these elements be infinitesimal quantities, but, nevertheless, there will always be gaps between them, albeit infinitely small. And their presence will always have a physical confirmation. It is in this that they are irresistible. This is the principle of discreteness.
