Pilot solenoid valve:

Valve "normally open" execution works according to the opposite principle - in a static position it is open, when voltage appears, it closes. These solenoid valves are also called valves. indirect actions, since their operation requires not only the supply of voltage to the coil, but also the observance of the minimum pressure drop in the system.

Direct acting solenoid valve:
In the design of these valves, the diaphragm has metal ring and is connected by a spring to a plunger. The magnetic field of the coil drives the plunger, which relieves pressure from the diaphragm, thereby opening the valve. A direct valve is called, because for its operation it is enough only to supply voltage to the coil, and there is no need to observe the minimum pressure drop in the system.

Bistable valve:
The valve is designed in the same way as the pilot valve (minimum pressure drop must be observed), however, it has two positions, holding which does not require energizing the coil. The transition from "open" to "closed" state and back occurs through the supply of a short pulse of alternating polarity to the valve coil. Bistable solenoid valves can only be operated from a DC power supply.
