Folk remedies for the treatment of the liver

In folk liver treatments, many recipes are used based on herbs or healthy oils, this article will discuss the most popular.

Propolis treatment

This method uses fresh bee propolis, or rather its aqueous tincture. Propolis - cleans the bile ducts well, stimulates the regeneration of cells damaged by alcohol (or other harmful factors) and increases the level of hemoglobin in the blood.

It is necessary to apply propolis from small doses, gradually increasing to the maximum dose, in order to avoid allergic reactions. First you need to buy propolis alcohol tincture at the pharmacy. And at 50 gr. water dissolve 1 drop of propolis tincture, take on an empty stomach, 1 p. a day, gradually increasing the dose to 30-40 drops. Each day can be increased by 1 drop.

Olive oil

Any treatment for the baking and gallbladder should begin with cleaning these organs from old toxins and toxins. The best liver cleanser is olive oil.

Important! It must be used for a long time and in small quantities, otherwise a sharp shift of gallstones along the bile duct is possible. This will lead to blockage, urgent hospitalization and subsequent surgery to remove the gallbladder.

It is necessary to start taking oil on an empty stomach with 1 teaspoon starting from the 1st week. Gradually bringing to a daily intake of 1 tbsp. l., you need to increase the dosage with each subsequent week. For the best effect, the oil can be mixed with an equal amount of freshly squeezed lemon juice. The combined use of oil and lemon juice stimulates the production of bile in the liver.

Milk thistle treatment

Ancient folk medicine recommends milk thistle for the treatment of the liver - as the No. 1 remedy for any disease.

For the treatment of milk thistle, oil, powder, herb and decoction are used. Everyone has the right to choose a remedy suitable for himself.

Butter: Take 1 dessert spoon of oil every day on an empty stomach; Tea or decoction: Brew 1 tbsp. l. in 1 st. boiling water, leave for 30 minutes and drink like regular tea;

Treatment of liver diseases with folk remedies is a rather laborious task, but absolutely achievable.

After fatty food, does it hurt treacherously on the right side? This is the liver. Are the whites of your eyes a yellowish tint? This again signals that she is playing pranks, darling. And we ourselves damage our health. But! This is the only organ that is being restored. However, you need to reconsider your lifestyle, diet, not to mention bad habits. And so there are enough toxins in the air we breathe. Alternative methods of liver treatment will help. How many and what ingredients do you need to stock up on?

The pain on the right is similar to the suffering that Prometheus experienced when the eagle ate his liver. So become a Hercules and help this important organ. Yes, the liver is capable of regenerating. But only if she has this chance. We will remove fatty foods, exclude alcohol, cigarettes, stop drinking incomprehensible drinks in which only the label is natural, and try to be less nervous. Otherwise, connective tissue appears on the liver instead of destroyed cells. And this leads to a severe form of hepatitis, hepatosis and cirrhosis.

Herbs and more for a healthy liver

Treatment of the liver with folk remedies at home should be carried out immediately, as soon as you feel the alarm bells of ailment. There are many ways to choose the one that suits you the most.

There are both individual herbs and liver fees:

  • corn silk and turmeric;
  • oats and milk thistle;
  • dandelion and nettle;
  • immortelle, chamomile, calendula, St. John's wort and others.

In addition to plants, there are other ways:

Treatment of the liver with herbs or other means must be combined with the prevention of the gallbladder. Did you know about their friendly tandem? If there are stones in the gallbladder, then the bile stagnates and causes hepatitis - jaundice. The same can happen if the liver is slagged and is not able to interact with the bile ducts. So our body is a chain of interrelated processes.

Oatmeal for the liver

The benefits of oatmeal have already been appreciated by those who are losing weight and children who are recovering and have skin problems. How to brew oats for liver treatment? There are a couple of ways.

Oatmeal: Boil a glass of oatmeal in a liter of water or milk. After boiling, simmer the porridge over low heat until bubbles appear. Add salt, sugar or honey, dried fruits or fresh berries to taste.

Kissel: Boil oat grains in water, strain and boil until thick. Drink on an empty stomach. You can add a little salt and honey. By the way, we have a separate article on the benefits of oatmeal jelly - a wonderful product.

Decoction: Boil 100 grams of grains in a liter of water. Set aside after 20 minutes, cover with a towel and let it brew for 3 hours. Strain the broth. Use the liquid as a base for food or drink instead of water.

Infusion: grind oat grains, pour a liter of boiling water over oatmeal (1 tablespoon) and leave in a thermos overnight. In the morning, barely getting up, drink a glass of infusion. Drink the infusion twice more during the day.

For oats to work, you need to drink it for at least 2-3 weeks. And for a complete cleansing, it will take a month or more. Large doses of oatmeal shake will not improve the situation. Therefore, do not drink a lot, but let the course be longer.

Do not drink oatmeal shakes for those who have gallstones.

Thistle "loves" the liver

Milk thistle is actively used to treat the liver. It is a thistle weed, but it is very useful for health.

Decoction: for half a liter of water you need 2 tablespoons. ground plant seeds into powder. Simmer over low heat until a glass of broth remains.

How to take milk thistle for liver treatment? It is necessary to conduct several courses each at least a month. Dosage - 1 tbsp. Frequency - every hour. If it is not possible to carry the broth with you, you can drink dry powder (as is done with hellebore) 1 tsp each, but every 5 hours.

Caution should be given to asthmatics, heart patients, thistle allergies and those with gallstones.

You can read about the benefits of milk thistle for the liver in more detail in a separate article.

Immortelle, chicory, dandelion and other herbs

There are other helpers as well.

  • The immortelle helps with so many diseases, and a little earlier we devoted a whole article to the plant. Diseases include cleansing and liver treatment. As soon as it blooms, we collect bunches of yellow flowers - there are 2 weeks for this. Then they are already useless. Flowers are stored for a long time, you can make a stock. And then use it as needed.

We measure out 2 tsp. flowers, fill them with a glass of water and brew like tea.

Or we will make a decoction: in the same proportion we boil the flowers for an hour over low-low heat, so that the decoction will boil and not boil away. We filter and drink on an empty stomach three times a day, 50 grams. Reviews indicate that pain relieves, like a hand.

  • For brewing chicory, both roots and tops are suitable. 1 tbsp Pour boiling water over chopped flowers or roots (glass). Boil for 15-20 minutes. Divide the glass of broth into three steps. Drink before meals. Chicory helps with inflammatory processes. It should not be taken for hemorrhoids, vascular diseases and varicose veins.
  • Dandelion can be taken dry - crush the root and drink a couple of pinches of powder with water before meals. The herb helps to flush out toxins and cleanse the liver.
  • Are you fond of indoor floriculture? Then you should have agave, a guest from the tropics, too. Cut off a small leaf, chop it and pour 1 tbsp. water. The water should be cold. Leave it on for 6 hours. Then strain and take 1 tbsp. infusion three times a day. Don't confuse agave with aloe. The second plant, although useful, is contraindicated in case of problems with the liver and gallbladder.

Other herbs will also help:

  • Corn silk.
  • Celandine - we drink infusions.
  • Burdock root - prepare an infusion in cold water.
  • Wormwood. The good thing is that the course is short - 2 weeks. If necessary, after 1.5 weeks, the reception is repeated again.
  • Calendula - we drink the broth, and we use the cake for the beauty of the face.
  • Field horsetail. Removes stones from the gallbladder.

Treatment fees can be compiled:

  • celandine and mint in equal parts;
  • oregano (mother), St. John's wort, chamomile, calendula and immortelle. All herbs should be taken in equal proportions;
  • sandy cmin (3 parts), buckthorn bark (1 part), St. John's wort (3 parts). Buckthorn will help get rid of constipation, if this problem does not exist, then the bark is not required;
  • yarrow, birch buds and leaves, calendula, St. John's wort, knotweed, immortelle, nettle, chamomile. Pick up herbs in any combination;
  • rosemary (2 hours), coltsfoot (2 hours), aspen bark (4 hours), birch buds (1 hour), valerian root (2 hours), yarrow (2 hours). The broth cleanses the liver and blood.

What do doctors say about such treatment methods? Many of them have long recognized the effectiveness of folk methods against various diseases. But the liver is no joke. Doctors recommend that you first undergo an examination to determine the nature of the disease, and then drink herbs, be treated with honey, soda (read about these methods just below). Indeed, even plants have contraindications and decoctions, infusions have a habit of concentrating in the body in order to inflict a targeted blow on the sore.

Hepatic diet

In addition to herbs, a diet will help in treating the liver. But it is not difficult. Unless with cholecystitis, you need to drink only pure water or weak tea for two days.

There is a special diet number 5, which is prescribed for hepatitis. The bottom line is reusable fractional meals. Stagnation of bile should not be allowed.

  • Breakfast. Buckwheat, millet, oatmeal, corn or rice porridge. You can season with honey.
  • Afternoon snack. A piece of low-fat and mild cheese or cottage cheese with natural yogurt. Fresh fruits and berries.
  • Dinner. Vegetable salad: beets, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers. Make the salad without salt, season with yogurt or vegetable oil. Any soup. On the second - lean fish or dietary meat.
  • Snack: 1 hard-boiled egg or omelet. Vegetable stew.
  • Dinner: meat or fish (lean), boiled or baked.

Bread - with bran. In the morning, you can eat crackers.

Drinking - water, tea, fruit drink, herbal teas. Drink 40-50 minutes after eating.

Before going to bed, drink a glass of natural yogurt or kefir. Natural products contain probiotics and prebiotics.

It is worth limiting the presence of sugar, shrimp, potatoes, dough products in the diet. But what is prohibited for suffering from the liver and is not recommended for healthy people is fatty meat, alcohol, lard, mayonnaise, sparkling synthetic drinks and other fat and harmfulness.

What will beekeepers say?

Any beekeeper will say that there is no such disease that pollen, podmore, propolis, beekeeping or other beekeeping product cannot cope with. That's why they are beekeepers ... Therefore, they popularize the treatment of the liver with honey. You have noticed that we recommended adding honey to the decoctions to taste. And this is no accident. He, especially floral, buckwheat, sunflower, herbs, will help relieve pain in the liver and allow it to recover.

Honey can be mixed with various decoctions, added to teas, the recipes of which are described above, taken together with royal jelly and bee bread, with apple, plum juice with the addition of rose hips.

  • Grind black currant with honey in equal parts. Eat a teaspoon before meals.
  • Honey with radish juice helps with gallstone disease.
  • Cottage cheese (200 g), honey (30 g), royal milk successfully treats icteric manifestations.
  • To prevent liver disease from developing into a chronic one, honey (150 g) is added to oats (100 g), diluted with boiling water (2.5 l). Evaporate under a warm blanket, covering the jar with parchment and a lid. Napar drink a mug twice a day.
  • Cinnamon with honey relieves liver pain. For 0.5 liters of honey, you need 2 tablespoons. fragrant spice.
  • At the pumpkin, without cutting, peel the core and pour ½ honey. Drink the resulting juice.
  • Horseradish juice and honey equally. Insist and drink a spoonful before meals.

Make delicious and healthy sweets: nut butter with honey, viburnum and honey smoothies, fig mixture (2 parts), honey, lemon (1 part).

We use soda

Do not discount the treatment of the liver with soda - it is in every kitchen.

  • Soda is added to a hot infusion of birch buds (1 part) and leaves (2 parts). You can drink in an hour.
  • Fresh lemon juice is diluted with ½ tsp. soda and drink immediately. Not very tasty, but quickly copes with pain.

Soda is an alkali and it does not adsorb toxins, but normalizes acidity (we usually take it for heartburn). Above, there are enough other, more gentle methods of pain relief. So if you're concerned, use a product other than baking soda.

What's on your plate?

Not only herbs, honey, diet and baking soda help. There are other alternative methods for treating the liver - the inclusion of certain foods in the diet.

  • Spring salad of young dandelion and nettle leaves, seasoned with yogurt.
  • Bread with bran, crackers from it.
  • Homemade cottage cheese, dairy products.
  • Lean fish.
  • Beetroot, pumpkin, carrot and radish salad.
  • Oranges, watermelon, persimmon.
  • Buckwheat, oatmeal, rice porridge.
  • Goji berries - if it is true that they collect fat and remove it from the body.

To prevent the liver from playing pranks, review your diet forever. Believe me, a person is alive and well without fatty foods. And if you happen to be treated, at the same time put in order the work of the gallbladder and restore the liver. They are nowhere without each other.

In contact with

The human liver is the largest internal organ, performs many functions and is very important for the body. Any disturbances in its work can cause very serious consequences. Therefore, if you are experiencing symptoms of liver disease, you must take it very seriously. It is very important to maintain the liver in a healthy state and treat the arising ailments in a timely manner.
The main symptoms of liver disease: frequent nausea, heartburn, unhealthy appearance of the skin (yellowish or gray, various rashes, spots), bitterness in the mouth, discoloration of urine and feces, pain in the liver, unpleasant odor of sweat. If at least one of these symptoms bothers you for a long time, the liver should be examined.

In addition to these basic signs, the following symptoms of an unhealthy liver may be present: itching, weakness, flatulence, loss of appetite, vomiting, and intolerance to fatty foods. These symptoms can indicate other conditions as well. Moreover, the symptoms depend on what disease caused them.

Many liver diseases present pain... Can the liver hurt? There are no pain receptors in the liver itself, so the liver does not hurt, the pain is caused by pressure on the capsule (glisson capsule, fibrous membrane), which contains the liver and in which there are many nerve endings. They give pain signals under pressure and tension. Any change in the shape and size of the liver causes pain in this one in this shell, therefore they say that the liver hurts. In some diseases, there may not be pain in the liver; in others, pain is one of the symptoms.

Due to the fact that one of the main functions of the liver is to cleanse the blood of poisons and toxins, these very poisons cause liver damage over time. The most common cause of liver damage is alcohol. It used to be thought that only alcoholics had liver pain. Currently, due to the deterioration of the environment, the use of more and more aggressive drugs, the introduction of chemical additives into the diet, liver disease can develop in any person. However, in those people who regularly consume alcohol, even in small quantities, the liver is damaged to one degree or another.
If you examine any person who considers himself healthy, you can always find in him the initial stages of liver disease - a violation of the structure of liver cells, an excess amount of fat cells, scar tissue, a slight increase in the liver. Symptoms of liver disease do not appear for a long time.

Toxins, chemicals and alcohol have a detrimental effect on the liver tissue, but with the help of changes in diet, lifestyle and folk remedies, the affected cells can be restored. Folk remedies for the treatment of the liver are aimed at restoring the functions of this organ and its cells.

Types of liver diseases

Liver diseases are very varied and numerous. Let's consider the most common liver diseases and their symptoms: hepatosis, cirrhosis, hepatitis, cancer.
Moreover, it should be noted that alcohol (and other toxins) can cause three types of liver damage: fat accumulation (fatty hepatosis), alcoholic inflammation (hepatitis), liver fibrosis (cirrhosis).
Many liver diseases can be asymptomatic for a long time, often the patient seeks a doctor when, due to the degeneration of liver tissue, its functions are impaired, and the body begins to malfunction.

Hepatitis Is an inflammatory liver disease arising from a variety of causes.
Hepatitis is divided into infectious (acute) and toxic (chronic, this also includes allergic).
The cause of infectious hepatitis is infection with the hepatitis virus of groups A, B, C. The same acute hepatitis can develop as a complication of any inflammatory disease of nearby organs. Acute viral hepatitis can become chronic. Chronic hepatitis leads to liver tissue necrosis.
Toxic and allergic hepatitis can be caused by an overdose of certain medications, food and industrial poisons.

Fatty hepatosis (steotosis)- the initial stage of liver degeneration. The most common cause of fatty hepatosis is the systematic intake of toxins into the body.
The cause of hepatosis of the liver can also be metabolic disorders, diabetes mellitus, diseases of the pancreas and thyroid gland.

Cirrhosis of the liver- a disease accompanied by irreversible replacement of functional liver tissue with fibrous connective tissue. As a result, the structure of the liver and its functions are disrupted. Cirrhosis is a complication of many liver diseases.

Liver cancer
Liver cancer often develops due to metastases brought into the liver with blood flow or against the background of cirrhosis

How to clean the liver with zucchini.

The recipe for cleansing the liver was suggested by a doctor of medical sciences, a herbalist from Novosibirsk. On the eve of the procedure, you need to take young zucchini, grate, squeeze the juice. In total, you need 2 liters of juice, do not throw out the cake either, put everything in the refrigerator. The cleaning should begin on the waning moon. Lean food should be eaten 2 days before cleaning. In the evening, do an enema, do not have breakfast in the morning, drink 1 glass of water. Heat the zucchini cake, put it on the right side, with polyethylene on top, a towel, a warm handkerchief and a heating pad. Do not remove this compress throughout the day and until the next morning after cleaning. At 10 in the morning, read the cleaning. Drink 100 g juice at regular intervals with a sip of freshly squeezed apple juice. Total apple juice will need 500 g. Drink juice until 6 pm. On this day, do not eat or drink anything else. You can only rinse your mouth with water.
In the morning, the release of toxins will begin. The body's response to this process is different for each organism. Often this happens through the skin - a rash, cracks, sores appear, they heal quickly. Zucchini is a very powerful remedy, so don't miss the moment when the harvest season begins. (Bulletin of healthy lifestyle 2011, No. 7, p. 9-10)

Cleansing the liver with oats and herbs.

After each meal, the woman began to vomit and diarrhea. The doctor said that the matter is in the poor functioning of the liver - there is no full-fledged cleansing of the body. In addition, all sorts of chronic diseases developed - joint pains, bumps on my legs hurt. She was advised to cleanse the liver with folk remedies and was brought a book by a pharmacologist, herbalist, where there was a recipe for cleansing the liver. She applied this recipe and was amazed at the result - all illnesses were gone and unpleasant symptoms were gone.
It is necessary to take three glasses of oats with the peel, rinse well, pour into a five-liter saucepan, add 3 tbsp. l. birch buds and 2 tbsp. l. lingonberry leaf. Pour 4 liters of cold water, leave in a cool place for 24 hours.
In another saucepan, boil 1 liter of water and add 1 cup of chopped rose hips. Boil covered for 10 minutes, leave in a cool place for 24 hours.
After a day, boil the infusion with oats, lingonberry leaf and birch buds, simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, then add 3 tbsp. l. knotweed and 2 tbsp. l. corn stigmas. Boil for another 15 minutes, then leave for 45 minutes. Each broth must be filtered, combined, poured into liter jars and refrigerated, it is advisable to wrap the jars with an opaque film. You should get 3.5 liters of broth.
Take the broth in a warm form strictly 4 times a day 30 minutes before meals, exactly 150 ml.
When the broth is over (the broth is enough for 5 days), take a break for 5 days, then repeat the liver cleansing with this remedy. In total, the woman took three such courses. During liver treatment, you should eat more vegetable salads, especially beets and carrots. (Bulletin of healthy lifestyle 2011, No. 16, p. 9-10)
The same recipe for cleansing the liver from toxins is recommended by Dr. med. Sci., phytotherapist Dannikov N.I. But after five days of taking the decoction, he recommends that you be treated with another decoction for five days: pour 1 kg of pitted raisins and 1 kg of chopped carrots with 2.5 liters of water, make a mark on the water level on a saucepan. Add another 2.5 liters of water and evaporate in a water bath to the mark. Strain, take 1.5-2 cups in the morning on an empty stomach. The taste of the drink is very pleasant. There is nothing to eat until lunchtime. The course of liver treatment with this broth is also 5 days. (Bulletin of healthy lifestyle 2012, No. 18, p. 7)

Cleansing the liver with oats and birch buds.

This recipe is similar to the previous one, but simpler. Akin to cleansing the liver with Ovesol drops, but more effective.
You need half a glass of oats and 1 tbsp. l. pour birch buds with 0.5 liters of boiling water and leave for 6 hours in a thermos. In the morning, drink 1 glass on an empty stomach 2 hours before breakfast. In the evening, drink 1 glass before bed, 2 hours after dinner. The procedure should be carried out for three days, each time brewing a new portion. (Bulletin of healthy lifestyle 2006, No. 11, p. 32)

Cleansing the liver without lemon.

The woman did not tolerate lemons, and therefore replaced the lemon juice with blackcurrant juice. Before cleansing the liver, I spent a preparatory period: I drank an infusion of knotweed herb for a week, it softens stones well. 1 tbsp. l. knotweed poured 1 glass of boiling water, insisted, drank this portion during the day 3-4 times before meals. After such preparation in the morning, before cleansing the liver at home, it is imperative to cleanse the intestines with an enema. The intestines must be empty as stones from the gallbladder travel through the intestines. In the afternoon, lie on your right side, putting a heating pad on the liver area, and under the heating pad - a cloth soaked in knotweed infusion. Keep the heating pad for 2-3 hours to warm up the liver.
At 17 o'clock, drink 150 g of olive oil at body temperature. You can take it in one gulp, or you can take 2-3 sips, washed down with sour fruit drink (if your body weight is more than 90 kg, then drink 200 ml of oil) After 2 hours, drink 4 tablets of hay, dissolving them in 100 ml of water. If you feel sick, you need to breathe deeply. Stones from the gallbladder can go in the morning, and maybe on the second day. In the morning, be sure to do an enema again.
The woman on the second day after cleansing the liver came out with a lot of stones of turquoise and yellow color, about half a glass. Then they came out a little more throughout the week. An ultrasound scan showed that there were no more stones, the bitterness in the mouth was gone, an extraordinary lightness appeared in the whole body.
The woman took this technique from the book by Lyudmila Kim, but replaced the lemon juice with currant juice, and added the softening of stones with knotweed. (Review from the Bulletin of Healthy Lifestyle 2011, No. 19, p. 8,)

Classic liver cleanse - olive oil and lemon juice.

A day before cleansing the liver, you need to spend a fasting day, there is only porridge cooked in water. Skip dinner. Cleanse the intestines in the evening with an enema or laxative.
The next day, in the morning, drink freshly squeezed juices from carrots, apples and beets, you can mix them. From the middle of the day, start to warm up the liver - put a hot heating pad on the liver area and walk with it until the end of the day.
At about 19-20 hours, start the liver cleansing procedure. Heat 1 glass of olive oil (you can use sunflower oil) and 1 glass of lemon juice (you can use grapefruit or their mixture) to 37-40 degrees. Take a sip of oil and then drink a sip of juice. If you do not feel sick, repeat the procedure after 15-20 minutes, if you feel sick, increase the interval until the nausea passes. Do this every 15-20 minutes until you run out of oil and juice. If nausea persists, interrupt liver cleansing. Then lie on your left side, continuing to hold the heating pad on your right side. The cleansing will begin at about 11 pm and will continue throughout the night.
This method of cleansing is very tough, there is a strong release of bile. With urolithiasis, it is dangerous to do this procedure. Also contraindications to liver cleansing are: diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, hypertension, exacerbation of cardiovascular diseases.
The next day, after cleansing the liver, drink juice for breakfast, vegetable salad for lunch, porridge on the water. All week, cereals and vegetables should prevail in the diet.
Several such cleanings should be carried out, but each new one should be started only after complete recovery, but not earlier than 2 weeks later. (Bulletin of Healthy Lifestyle 2010, No. 4, p. 17. From a conversation with a physician-phytotherapist T. D Kovaleva)

Liver cleaning with folk remedies

One of the main conditions for cleansing the liver is the need to make bile flowing. It often happens that bile stagnant in the bile ducts has a thick consistency and cannot be renewed. Therefore, you need to prepare for cleaning - drink medicinal herbs that improve liver function. Such herbs include immortelle, dandelion, wormwood, corn silk, yarrow, celandine, chicory, nettle, plantain. You need to make a mixture of all these herbs or take several names to choose from. 1 tbsp. l. collecting herbs, pour 500 ml of hot water in a thermos, leave for an hour, take 0.5 cups 4 times a day. The course of taking herbs is 1 month. If the liver is relatively healthy, then take one such course, if there are problems with the liver, then 2-3 courses with two-week breaks between them.
After such preparation, you can proceed to cleansing the liver with any folk remedy. The easiest way to cleanse the liver is to use dyubazhs based on the intake of an infusion of choleretic herbs, xylitol or sorbitol. To do this, you need to take 1 tsp. collection from the above list of medicinal herbs, pour 1 glass of boiling water, leave for 30 minutes. Dissolve xylitol in warm water until pleasantly sweet. On the day of liver cleansing, eat very moderately vegetables and cereals, or even starve. At 19 o'clock, drink a glass of herbal infusion or a glass of xylitol or sorbitol solution, put a hot heating pad on the liver area. You cannot sit, it is better to lie down so that the gallbladder is not pinched. They need to lie for 40-60 minutes.
After three days, this procedure for cleansing the liver must be repeated; in total, 5 procedures must be done every three days. Then do another 5-10 procedures every other day. In total, 10-15 procedures are to be carried out. (Bulletin of Healthy Lifestyle 2010, No. 4, p. 17. From a conversation with a physician-phytotherapist T. D Kovaleva)

Cleansing the liver at home with beet broth

Take beets weighing about 200-250 g. Wash well, do not peel, do not cut off the tail. Put in a saucepan, pour 1 liter of water. Mark the liquid level. Add another 2 liters of water. Boil the beets until 2 liters of water has boiled away. Remove the beets, grate, put them back in the broth, boil for another 20 minutes. Then strain the broth, divide into 4 parts. Take 1 part every 4 hours. After taking the broth, you need to put a heating pad on the liver area and rest lying down. A sign that the process has begun is not a laxative effect, but a diuretic.
On the day of liver cleansing, you can only eat apples (Vestnik HLS 2007, p. 8, No. 7)
