How to crochet a beautiful pillow. Crochet pillows: a selection with diagrams and descriptions Crochet pillows from square motifs to the nursery

Pillows have been around since time immemorial. At the excavations of ancient Egyptian burials, pillows were found on which the pharaohs slept without fear of damaging their complex hair, they were wooden plates with images of gods on stands. In Japan, geisha slept on similar structures, protecting expensive hair styling. History knows porcelain, metal, stone pillows, as well as decorated precious metals and stones. V different time pillows were sewn of leather, fabrics, stuffed with feathers, down and dry hay or straw, decorated with multi-colored embroidery, lace and laces with tassels.

At all times, and even more so now, pillows are not only for sleeping. They are used for decoration and creating a certain style in the interior, for comfortable sitting on hard chairs, tiny sachet pillows give a completely unique aroma to the atmosphere in the rooms, funny pillows in the form of funny cats, lambs and much more will make the atmosphere in the children's room bright and will be excellent toys for kids. And is it worth mentioning the pillows "hearts" in the form of gifts for Valentine's Day ?!

Square and round pillows in the form of cylinders and polygons are huge and very tiny, any of these products can be created with your own hands, crocheted, for example. At the same time, often practical needlewomen knit not the pillow itself, but a cover for it, which can be easily removed and washed without damaging the padding material.

One of the simplest crochet patterns is the grandmother's square. At the same time, from such easy-to-perform motives, you can create very beautiful and surprisingly cozy decorative items... Another nice thing about Granny's Square is that you can use a variety of yarn leftovers. As a result, you will get an original, bright and cute pillow.

Did you know that the pillow can take any geometric shape, as well as the shape of any object or animal. Only on our site there is a description of pillows in the form of a heart, a lamb, Winnie - down, an owl, a star, cats, a rooster and female forms. The imagination of needlewomen has no boundaries. Many beautiful cases and pillowcases are knitted of square motifs, especially our beloved grandmother's square.

An easy way to crochet an unusual pillow

First, we choose the shape of the future product:

  • square
  • rectangle
  • roller
  • cube?

Knit with or without crochet the desired shape... There are a lot of schemes on the Internet and we have them under the heading "for beginners". For the first three options, you need to knit two identical parts: the front side or the wrong side. We take patterns of flowers, leaves, round motifs, maybe even elements of Irish lace, knit several pieces of them and sew on the front side of the cover. Your unique pillow is ready!
The drawing was invented by you personally and no one can repeat it. Someone got such a beautiful case:

If you have a pre-made cushion cover but need to update it quickly.

In this case, choose the right thread by color and crochet any beautiful napkin. The main condition is that the diameter of the napkin should not be larger than the pillowcase. Wash the napkin, steam it off and sew it onto the pillow. Ready-made cushions for the base can be bought at Ikea. This is by the way great idea for a housewarming gift or for a summer residence. Not a lot of work and time was spent, but a hand-made thing will remind the owner of your concern.

Crochet pillow, ideas from our site

We have prepared a selection of the most beautiful crocheted pillows posted on the site.

I have contacted a small decorative pillow made of the remains of threads. This is my first experience in knitting motives. I used the Children's novelty from Pekhorka and hook number 2. It took about one and a half skeins of both colors. Size 34 * 34 cm. The front side of the pillow is crocheted of relief motifs with a pattern of lush columns "heart", the back side of simple square motifs.

For the front part, I knitted 9 motifs, of which 5 are yellow, 4 are white, and for the back, on the contrary, 4 are yellow and 5 are white.

Thus, the colored motifs were distributed throughout the pillow in a checkerboard pattern.

Lush column

Often there are such knitting patterns where two or more columns are tied together. If they are knitted in one loop of the previous row, then this column is called lush. This is done like this: all the columns - a double crochet or a double crochet, are knitted up to half, that is, the last loop of each column remains on the hook - it is not tied. How many posts - so many loops remain on the hook, plus the main loop. Grab the thread and pull it through all the loops and knit another air loop.

So, we knit 5 motives according to the scheme No. 1 with a heart yellow, 4 motifs in white, and we tie each motif with one row of RLS with a thread in the color of the motive. Now we will connect 5 white and 4 yellow squares according to scheme # 2. To get a square of the same size as a motif with a heart, six rows and strapping in a circle of RLS will be enough.

Now let's put the motives in the correct order:

and let's start connecting them. I decided to use a raised seam for the front embossed part of the pillow, doing it in white. That is, you just need to connect both motives with one row of RLS. To do this, take the motifs in our hands with the front side out and begin to connect them by inserting a hook under both walls of the loop:

You need to start with the first loop of the strapping of this edge, without affecting only the most corner loop of the strapping. When 2 motifs are connected, leave the 2 corner loops of the harness unconnected, make an air loop

and "tie" the next 2 motives similarly to the first two. We do the same with all the other motives for the front of the pillow. Now the motives are connected along, we move on to connecting the rest of the sides.

The connection takes place in the same way as before, only now at the intersection of the seams after the end of the connection of 2 motifs to the next 2 we do not make a VP, but simply stretch one loop that connects the motives a little more than usual:

This is enough so that the corners of the four motifs are not pulled together and the intersection of the seams does not bulge.
When all the motifs are connected, you need to tie the RLS around the resulting canvas in order to align the edges, and the connection of the front and rear canvases was convenient:

We connect the motives of the back of the pillow, also with white thread. Since they are flat, without relief, we will sew the seam for connection on the seamy side of the motives. The connection takes place in the same way as the connection of the front blade.

Now we sew a zipper on the right side, and the remaining edges are crocheted along the seamy side of the RLS in the same way, for both walls of the loops. Especially for this cover, I sewed a small pillow, which, unfortunately, turned out to be a little smaller than necessary. Now we turn the cover onto the front side and put it on the pillow.
It turned out cute decorative pillow... There is relief on one side, and on the other side you can lie down :)

Mini workshop on making decorative pillow crochet square motifs. The basis for such a decorative pillow is sewn from any fabric, but the front part is crocheted. So, everything in order:

For decorative pillow we need: cotton threads (430 m / 100 g), hook number 2, fabric for the base and filler (for example, synthetic winterizer, holofiber).

The front decorative part of the pillow consists of nine square motifs 10 x 10 cm.Each motive is knitted separately according to the scheme below

It turns out such a decorative motive for the pillow.

Similarly, we knit 8 more pieces.

Then we connect our squares to each other from the seamy side, tying a row of single crochet columns. We make an edge from fans: 7 columns with 2 yarns in one loop.

Sew the resulting decorative canvas on the fabric for the base of the pillow. Then we finish the pillowcase of the pillow, leaving a gap for turning on the front side. Next, we fill our decorative pillow with filler and sew up the hole with blind stitches. Steam the pillow with a hot iron. Decorative pillow from squares crochet ready!

Now let's see where it can be applied!

The simplest and fastest product is a pillow! Crochet pillows have been used for a long time. Surely many houses have inherited beautiful pillows and bedspreads crocheted from ordinary thread for sewing! We, of course, will not undertake such a big job now, we will start with a simpler one, but we will also move on to a complex one! 🙂

So, first you need to decide what purpose the pillow has, its size will depend on it! The shape of our pillow is square.

Will it be crochet pillowcase or a full-fledged pillow - you decide. Whether this pillow will be a toy for a child or will be part of the decor of the room, what is its functionality - just decorative pillow crochet or bedding. We answer these questions for ourselves.

After determining the purpose and dimensions, we proceed.

  • Yarn of various colors at your request, the main thing is that the yarn is of the same composition and thickness. I have this Semenovskaya yarn Souffle in three colors;
  • The hook of the required diameter, I have 2.5;
  • Scissors;
  • A needle with a wide eye;
  • The inner part of the pillow. I am knitting a pillow for my daughter to play (20 x 20 cm), I want to please the baby, and even a large full-size pillow would not fit into the lesson (pictured)! 🙂

Now let's get down to business!

1. We knit two identical squares for the size of the pillow, using the lesson ““. We remove all the tails using the lesson:.

The arrangement of flowers for your pillow can be completely different, it all depends on your imagination, experiment 🙂

Strapping

7. Single crochet through the next two loops of the squares at the same time, i.e. we first pass through the next loop of one square, then through the loop of another and knit a single crochet. Do not forget

8. So we knit to the end of the side of the square, do not forget to hide the thread in the center of the column
