Linoleum without lint. Insulated linoleum: felt-based, warm and foamed, with a thick pile on a cold floor, reviews. How to glue - a description of the methods

Linoleum is a popular floor covering, characterized by low cost and relatively high strength. Among all types of this flooring, materials with a felt base are of great interest.

The felt base has a pile that well blocks the sound wave even from large speakers

The structure of linoleum on a felt base

Felt-based material has a complex structure in several layers. It contains various fillers that give plasticity, as well as substances that improve physical and technical characteristics.

Attention! The number of layers and components may be different, below is the structure of Tarkett brand linoleum.

Material structure

The heterogeneous structure looks like this.

  • Felt base.
  • Reinforcing fiberglass.
  • Foamed PVC.
  • decorative layer.
  • PVC protection.
  • Polyurethane or polyacrylic protective film.

As you can see, felt makes up only a small part, because the main material is polyester, which forms the threads of fiberglass.

The felt-based coating can have a wide variety of patterns and patterns, which are applied to form a vinyl protective layer with a thickness of 0.15 to 0.8 mm. PVC serves as the main protector against abrasion, moisture and mechanical stress, thereby increasing the life of linoleum.

The presence of felt gives warmth to the coating, which is not distinguished by the classic types of linoleum. Therefore, this material has gained high popularity, because at a bargain price you can get a flooring comparable to a “warm floor”.

Advantages of the felt base

The following can be said about a relatively new type of material that appeared a century and a half ago. First of all, it is worth noting what disadvantages this material had.

Large selection of coatings with various patterns and patterns
  • Significant residual reaction to mechanical deformations.
  • Fear of moisture.
  • Bad soundproofing.
  • High fire hazard.
  • Bad thermal insulation.

The use of felt for the base made it possible to get rid of almost all of these shortcomings. Such linoleum is characterized by the following advantages:

  • Due to the high elasticity and softness of the structure, permanent deformation is greatly reduced.
  • The coating has become even softer, perfectly springy and does not cause pain when moving, even if mounted on a concrete base.
  • High sound insulation.
  • The use of flame retardants made it possible to acquire a high degree of protection against fires.
  • Improved thermal insulation.

In short, felt coverings are deservedly so popular. This flooring has high quality indicators, transformed its shortcomings into advantages. Separately, I would like to note the beauty of the coating, which has only changed.

Nuances of use

Before blindly choosing linoleum on felt for laying, it is worth clarifying a few nuances and points on the appropriateness of its use. For example, felt linoleum is not recommended to be placed in a room with high humidity. For these purposes, foam-based flooring is well suited.

The dislike of felt remains one of the biggest drawbacks. It cannot be laid if the base will have a moisture content of more than 5%. Such a low humidity mark is not always possible to achieve, but it is worth trying, because fungi, mold and other organisms that love a humid environment can grow.

Here is what you have to consider before and during the laying of linoleum with a felt base:

  • The laying surface must be thoroughly dried and waterproofed.
  • To create a solid coating over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe room, it is necessary to weld the canvases together. This business is best left to professionals.
  • The joints of the sheets must be airtight. To achieve a similar effect, you can purchase a special adhesive moisture-resistant tape that will connect the joint from the inside.
  • Older samples were characterized by shrinkage of the canvases up to 1 cm for every 5 m. This caused flattening and lengthening of the linear dimensions. Of course, newer examples have a special structure that almost eliminates the possibility of shrinkage. If, nevertheless, there is no confidence in the quality of the material, it is worth leaving damper gaps along the contour of the walls with a width of 5 cm. In the future, they can be closed with skirting boards.

Important! In order for all the advantages and advantages of felt linoleum to become practical properties, it is necessary to carry out installation, strictly observing the technology.

Methods for gluing felt-based fabrics

If the room is large, then it is not always possible to purchase a solid canvas. In such cases, it is necessary to connect the canvases to each other. Various methods can be used for this.

Double-sided tape

Double-sided tape is not a very reliable type of seam connection

You can join the two canvases using double-sided tape. This method is not very reliable. Rather, it should be seen as temporary.

To make a connection, you need:

  • Clean the surface of the floor in places where the tape is glued from grease and dirt. Do the same with the wrong side of the canvases.
  • Stick the adhesive tape on the floor surface, while not peeling off the protective film from the top side.
  • For reliability, roll the tape with a roller.
  • Then gradually remove the protective film and stick the linoleum.

The advantage of the method is the speed of work and minimal costs, but the joints are not very reliable and even.

decorative threshold

In order to hide the junction of two canvases, you can use a decorative threshold. There are a huge number of different types, shapes and materials.

A decorative threshold is usually installed in the place where the door threshold should be.

It is much easier to weld the seams with a threshold with double-sided tape, because it is necessary to achieve an absolutely even fit of the canvases.

  • It is necessary to attach the threshold to the attachment point.
  • Mark the mounting points with special holes.
  • If the base is concrete, then prepare holes and insert dowels into them.
  • Again, put the threshold and tighten with self-tapping screws.

Thanks to this method, the connections are reliable. But the protruding part on a flat surface may not be too decorative, and also not be practical. For example, if you organize a joint in this way in an office, it can cause problems for the movement of wheelchairs.

Hot welding

The following method has proven to be one of the most reliable, but it requires special tools and certain skills. It is worth noting that the use of hot welding is possible only with canvases for commercial use.

Hot air gun fuses a special cord at a temperature of 400-500 degrees

The general procedure for performing hot welding is as follows:

  • It is necessary to fix the sheets on the floor surface so that they do not move during welding.
  • For the hot welding method, it is necessary to put the blades close to each other. Then make a V-shaped seam along the entire length of the connection.
  • Clean the seam from dirt and dust.
  • Put a special polymer - a cord, which, fusing with a hot air gun, will form welding of the canvases.
  • Heat the heat gun to the required temperature and start the welding process from the center of the room to one end, then from the center to the other end of the seam.
  • After the surface has cooled, remove excess fused polymer with a knife.

The advantage of this method is that it allows you to make a tight and beautiful seam.

But this method also has certain disadvantages:

  • You can not use it for household types of coating, as they will simply melt due to their small thickness.
  • An expensive hot air gun tool is required, which resembles an ordinary soldering iron in appearance.
  • You need to be able to handle a hot air gun in order to get a beautiful and even seam.

Cold welding

There is a more convenient welding method that does not require the development of a complex tool. The seams will be fixed with a special adhesive. There are two types of glue for this:

  • type "A";
  • type "C".

If type “A” glue is used, then it is necessary to lay canvases with a gap of 2-3 mm, if the second type of composition, then close. There is also a difference in composition. For example, the first type is a thicker consistency.

Tube with a special pointed needle for cold welding

To perform cold welding with glue type "A", you need:

  • Apply painter's tape to the junction of the canvases.
  • Carefully cut along the seam of the masking tape. It is necessary as a limiter so that the glue does not spread over the coating.
  • Pour the liquid adhesive into the gap in masking tape.

After the glue dries for 15-20 minutes, remove the tape. And after the glue has finally set, its excess is removed from the surface. Actions with the type of glue "C" are similar. Only in this case you can not use masking tape.

Based on the described actions and having considered all the methods of joining joints, we can conclude that the cold welding method is the most acceptable.

Using double-sided tape is not too serious, the decorative threshold will stand out, and the hot welding method can be financially expensive.

Felt linoleum coatings are more popular than textile-based ones due to their warm and pleasant structure, which is strong enough to isolate sound acoustic vibrations.

When choosing linoleum, we ask ourselves the following questions:

  • whether it will fit into your interior in terms of color, pattern and texture;
  • will it withstand the load on the floor;
  • whether it meets the requirements for moisture resistance, sound insulation and thermal insulation;
  • to take - on a foam (PVC) basis or on a felt one?

And, of course, everyone would like the floor covering to last as long as possible and survive until the next repair.

What does "linoleum base" mean?

By linoleum base, we mean the type of flooring base layer that is in direct contact with the wood or concrete subfloor.

The reliability, strength, durability of linoleum, as well as sound and heat insulation characteristics, directly depend on its thickness and configuration.

The base performs the following functions:

  • leveling or masking irregularities (the more there are, the thicker the base layer should be);
  • depreciation - optimal elasticity of the coating helps to relieve stress on the joints and spine;
  • heat and sound insulation - in this case, the thickness of the layer also plays a role;
  • protection of the upper decorative layer, which consists in the fact that the base layer prevents the penetration of moisture into the upper layers of the material.

So that you can choose the best linoleum for your home or office, we offer you a short description of its basics.

Foamed (PVC) backing

Foamed vinyl or PVC floors are more durable and resistant to moisture, so they are suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, corridors and other areas with high humidity.

To the advantages of the foam base, made mechanically, also includes high resistance to point and mechanical loads. This means that the marks from the heels on your linoleum, as well as the prints of the legs of the furniture after rearrangement, will quickly disappear.

Linoleum on this basis has a relatively small shrinkage - 2 mm, but it is recommended to lay it on the most even floor possible.

The disadvantages of such a basis we can say that it is thinner (1.5-3.5 mm), respectively, such linoleum is more rigid and less shock-absorbing. In addition, the PVC base loses its properties when exposed to temperatures exceeding 27 degrees, which should be taken into account if there is a heated floor.

Felt base

Compared to the previous one, this base layer is more environmentally friendly and thicker (up to 5 mm). It is warm and soft, so it is an excellent solution for ground floors or private houses.

The thickness of the base also provides good soundproofing properties of linoleum.

Disadvantages of nonwoven backing can be called low moisture resistance, susceptibility to rotting and the appearance of fungus, so the presence of a damp and unheated basement under your apartment will inevitably lead to rapid damage to the coating. Today, the felt used for this base layer is impregnated with special water-resistant and anti-fungal agents, which gives it relative moisture resistance.

Also, compared to the foamed main felt layer, it tolerates point and mechanical loads worse - in other words, the dents left after furniture and other heavy objects do not disappear.

Felt-based linoleum can shrink up to 10 mm, so before fixing it with skirting boards, you need to let it rest for some time. But you can also lay it on a floor that is not the most even - the main thing is that it be dry if protection from moisture is not provided. Such linoleum is ideal for the bedroom, living room or nursery, where it will provide the necessary softness and comfort.

As you can see, the answer to the question "What is the best basis for linoleum?" directly depends on the type and characteristics of the room for which this flooring will be used.

Whichever base of linoleum you prefer, the following may be useful to you. There are 3 types of linoleum - household, commercial and semi-commercial, which differ in thickness, number of colors and patterns.

Household linoleum is characterized by a variety of colors, low price and availability, but its wear resistance is not so high - it will last no more than 5 years. The thickness of household floor coverings varies from 1.3 to 4.5 mm. It is this indicator that determines their reliability and durability.

Therefore, repair experts advise laying a more durable and thicker (from 4.5 to 8 mm) semi-commercial floor covering on a felt or PVC base. It withstands average operating loads, and its service life can reach 20 years.

The most wear-resistant can be called a commercial coating designed for rooms with the highest traffic. It is the thickest (from 8 to 10 mm), and will last more than 20 years, but you may not be satisfied with the limited choice of colors and some subtleties with styling.

Important: poor quality linoleum containing various harmful additives has a pungent odor and an unhealthy greasy sheen. Trust your sense of smell and all the necessary product certifications.

Like other building materials, linoleum is manufactured in accordance with GOST and must have an appropriate marking consisting of 2 digits. If there is no marking or there is only one number, this indicates a violation of the manufacturing technology, which may affect the quality of the material.

It is better to buy linoleum for the kitchen or other rooms in large stores, where it is more likely that it is in good temperature conditions. In any case, you should make sure that you have a quality certificate.

Rolled linoleum is always better to buy in one piece. Coatings purchased in different stores may differ in texture and shades of colors, just like linoleum from different batches of goods.

Do not fold the linoleum in half - it can only be folded with the front part inward.

We hope we have answered many of your questions and wish you a quick, inexpensive, high-quality and beautiful repair!

One of the most popular floorings is linoleum. It consists of materials that provide high strength, wear resistance and reliability of the coating. Such material is relatively inexpensive, while it has high performance. Linoleum can be commercial, semi-commercial and domestic. Insulated linoleum is used in rooms with too cold concrete or wooden floors. It can have a different basis: you need to pay attention to this when purchasing it.

When the floor is cold in the room, either its thorough insulation or the use of materials that can provide thermal insulation to the surface is required. Linoleum is an excellent coating that does not require large material costs, unlike installing a warm floor. Insulated linoleum is used to insulate the floor without additional material costs.

Thick linoleum is often used to cover uneven surfaces to hide cracks and floor deformations.

Linoleum can have a different base with a complex structure. At the same time, manufacturers offer a wide range of coatings with a variety of patterns: geometric, abstract, thematic. Such linoleum is elastic, which ensures comfortable movement on the surface.

Types of bases for linoleum:

  • Foamed. It is characterized by a complex structure. It consists of a top decorative layer. The middle layer is foam rubber. It creates excellent thermal insulation, and also protects against the penetration of excess noise. The material is quite effective, despite its thinness. The cover is practical and easy to care for.
  • Warm. It consists of a film that is glued onto a jute or felt base. The cover has a soft, pleasant surface. The disadvantage is the vulnerability of the upper layer to damage. Do not lay this material in a room with high traffic, as well as in a room where there is high humidity.

The choice of material quality directly depends on where the linoleum will be laid. It is important to take into account the characteristics of the room, its permeability, humidity level and floor finish. Reviews of each type of warm linoleum can be read on the Internet.

How to choose the right warm linoleum

Modern warm linoleum is no longer made on the basis of natural materials. Artificial materials have proven their reliability, strength and wear resistance. Warm linoleum can be divided into several types, depending on what kind of basis it has. Linoleum laying methods also depend on what materials it is made of.

For example, linoleum with a felt base can be laid on the floor without prior screed.

For laying in residential premises with a cold floor, especially on the first floors, felt linoleum is used, which perfectly stores heat and does not let the cold through. It is this linoleum that is best used for summer cottages, if it is not possible to install a warm floor. In order for linoleum to serve for a long time, when choosing it, you need to follow the advice of professionals.

Tips for choosing warm linoleum:

  • Linoleum based on jute or felt is best to lay in a room with a high level of humidity.
  • If the floor will have a large load, it is better to lay foamed linoleum on it.
  • Linoleum decor is important to choose according to the overall style of the interior. When laying, make sure that the pattern or pattern matches.
  • The width of the linoleum should be such that there are not too many joints on the floor.

The choice of linoleum should be influenced by how durable it is. The service life of the surface will depend on the class of linoleum. When buying, it is important to pay attention to product quality certificates.

Foam-based linoleum layers

The structure of foam-based linoleum is quite complex. The thickness of the linoleum is large enough to provide the surface with heat and make it even. Linoleum with this type of base has a beautiful appearance, which contributes to its popularity among consumers.

One of the well-known types of linoleum, which is widely popular and has high quality characteristics, is Tarkett.

This is linoleum with a heat-insulating surface, wear-resistant, durable and breathable at the same time. Its basis consists of six layers, each of them performs its function. Linoleum is thinner than felt, but the addition of fiberglass makes it much stronger.

Foam-based linoleum layers:

  • Transparent layer for protection;
  • Decorative;
  • foam layer;
  • primed layer;
  • Bottom foam layer;
  • Back layer.

This is the most practical type of flooring. It is easy to care for and wash. It is only important to remember that it is better to clean linoleum daily, and not once after it becomes impossible to wash it from accumulated dirt and dust.

The process of laying linoleum with pile

This type of coverage requires specific attention. It should be noted that the choice of linoleum is a simple matter, because it is chosen for a long period of time. The material has a two-cavity structure, which affects the characteristics of linoleum and its performance.

Linoleum with pile is perfect for those who love warmth, comfort and coziness: it is soft, resilient and easy to cover the floor surface.

But it is worth noting that this material can only be laid in a dry room, since moisture can destroy the structure of linoleum and render it unusable. If the floor will experience heavy loads, then it is likely that the piled linoleum may not withstand this. Therefore, before buying, it is important to take into account all the nuances and characteristics of the room in which linoleum is supposed to be laid.

How to prepare the floor:

  • Remove old coating. Assess the condition of the floor without it. Finishes must be good, otherwise it will be necessary to carry out repairs.
  • Lay the substrate, which will be the transition layer. It is better to choose the jute option - it has a natural base.
  • Cover the floor with plywood sheets - this will give the surface strength.
  • Carry out waterproofing, if the floor is covered with wood. To do this, put the film. Cover it with fiberboard, prime it, cover it again with foil.

The film floor is laid on top of this entire floor structure. Experts do not advise laying chipboard under linoleum - this is a rather fragile material that can lead to floor failure. Linoleum with a pile is perfect for dry living quarters, with a normal level of humidity.

Types of insulated linoleum (video)

Insulated linoleum can significantly save on the installation of underfloor heating. Usually they cover cold concrete wooden surfaces. Linoleum can have several bases, but they all differ in their heat and sound insulation function. This quality largely depends on the thickness of the coating. You need to choose the material very responsibly, taking into account the characteristics of the room in which the linoleum will be laid. Linoleum is of three types: household, commercial and semi-commercial. When buying, be sure to check the quality certificate of the goods.

Underfloor heating is perhaps the dream of all modern homeowners, however, not everyone can afford their installation, but felt-based linoleum produced by the world famous Tarkett company can become an excellent and quite profitable option for finishing the floor space.

In addition to comfortable movement, such a coating has many advantages, and any traditional types of linoleum can envy its durability and decorative effect.

Linoleum on felt: properties

Tarkett felt-based linoleum is a foamed vinyl material made from polyvinyl chloride, plasticizing agents, fillers, as well as pigment particles and other additives that improve the performance of the material.

The production process of the coating consists in the successive application of polymer layers on fiberglass.

Structurally, several layers are included:

  1. Polyurethane or polyacrylic protective coating;
  2. PVC protective layer;
  3. designer pattern;
  4. Polyvinyl chloride foam layer;
  5. Fiberglass base;
  6. Felt lining.

Although in fact, felt in this case is a conditional name. These are polyester threads from which a non-woven canvas up to 2 mm thick is formed.

Foamed felt-based linoleum can be with a variety of textures and patterns applied to the surface of the vinyl before it is treated with a protective varnish. The protective PVC layer has a thickness varying from 0.15 to 0.8 mm.

Its main functions are to reduce linoleum abrasion, protect against mechanical stress and moisture, and also ensure a long service life.

The difference between felt linoleum and classic is tactile warmth. That is, laying felt-based linoleum is quite comparable to installing a water and electrical system "warm floor", only at a better price.

It will be pleasant to walk on the coating, even if it is lined with a concrete base, known for its coldness.

Products are presented in the widest range of shades, patterns and patterns (21 designs). There is a realistic imitation of tiled, porcelain stoneware, parquet and laminate.

Linoleum is the most popular floor covering in the budget price segment. It is distinguished by an almost perfect ratio of price to quality. It is strong, durable, has a lot of color and texture solutions.

Felt-based linoleum is one of the popular varieties of traditional cladding. This type has high thermal insulation qualities, which makes it a good choice for consumers who live in standard apartments and private houses.

Structure of felt linoleum

Structurally, linoleum with a felt base belongs to the class of heterogeneous roll coatings. It is produced in two variations, consisting of 5 or 7 layers. Each layer performs its own technological task, providing the final material with a certain set of characteristics.

Five-layer structure of PVC linoleum on felt

The general structure of a five-layer coating consists of the following:

  • the front surface is a high-strength polyurethane layer, which is responsible for the wear resistance and safety of the material;
  • protective layer - protects the pattern and texture of the coating from damage and abrasion;
  • decorative layer - a surface with a printed pattern. Responsible for the decorative qualities of the coating;
  • base - a technological layer, which is a substrate for the applied pattern and texture;
  • the bottom layer is a felt backing that provides protection, heat and sound insulation of the coating when adjacent to the carrier base.

To give increased rigidity and improved insulation, many manufacturers add two more layers. The fiberglass layer is responsible for rigidity, which gives less shrinkage and spread of the material over the floor surface.

An additional layer of insulation provides increased waterproofing qualities and protects the felt base from moisture absorption. The total thickness of felt linoleum, depending on the structure, varies from 2 to 4.5 mm.

Advantages and disadvantages of insulated linoleum

The main disadvantage of linoleum is the fear of moisture and water.

Linoleum with a base of natural and artificial felt is most often laid on the first floors of multi-storey buildings. Concrete slabs, which are floors, have a low temperature and do not warm up well.

The felt layer is an additional heat-insulating barrier that prevents the penetration of cold air from the ceiling. When using an additional thermal insulation substrate, you can achieve an even greater effect, thereby reducing heating and space heating costs.

Among the advantages of warm linoleum are:

  • laying - a simple laying technology allows you to perform flooring without the involvement of specialists. The material has a shock-absorbing effect, which makes it possible to lay even a slightly uneven base;
  • insulation - felt base provides high rates of heat and sound insulation. When laying on the second and subsequent floors, you can do without an additional layer of full-fledged thermal insulation, laying only one floor covering;
  • content - the material is not demanding in terms of care and maintenance. Wet cleaning 2-3 times a week with a minimum amount of detergents is quite enough;
  • operation - linoleum due to felt and overall thickness gives a comfortable level of depreciation. Walking on the surface is comfortable and pleasant;
  • cost - the material belongs to the class of budget materials. The total cost of the material depends on the thickness and abrasion class, but even the most expensive types of this coating do not have a high price.

The main disadvantage of linoleum on felt is the service life of the material. When compared with analogues with a foam backing, felt linoleum has a lower strength. The average service life is limited to 8-10 years, depending on the operating conditions and the load on the coating.

It is highly not recommended to lay insulated linoleum in the bathroom and other rooms where there is a risk of water ingress and high humidity. Felt very well absorbs moisture from the surrounding air. With constant deformations from the “absorption-drying” process, the coating will spread and quickly become unusable.

How to choose - manufacturers and cost

The choice of felt linoleum is similar to other types of roll coatings. Wear class, overall coating thickness and protective layer thickness are the three main characteristics to consider when making a selection.

When used in standard apartments and private houses, it is recommended to lay class 23 linoleum, since this coating has sufficient strength and wear resistance.

It is desirable that the total thickness of the linoleum be at least 3 mm with a protective layer thickness of 0.3-0.4 mm. A material with such a set of characteristics will be a good choice for a bedroom, nursery or living room.

It is highly undesirable to buy felt linoleum as a covering in the hallway or kitchen. Moisture and constant abrasive load will lead to a strong thinning of the front layer.

For example, above is a table with a list of trade names and their cost. These materials have all the above stated characteristics and are recommended for purchase.

How to glue - a description of the methods

Linoleum with a felt base, as mentioned above, is not suitable for rooms with high humidity. Under the influence of moisture, the felt begins to swell, mold, fungus and harmful microorganisms appear. All this affects not only the material itself, but also the health of the residents.

When choosing linoleum, special preference should be given to its width. It is advisable to purchase linoleum with a width equal to the width of the room. This will make it possible to lay the coating without joints. As a result, the base will receive a high level of sealing, heat and sound insulation.

If the coating has already been purchased and its width is not enough, then it will be necessary to glue the linoleum seams. This technology is used both for warm types and for foam-based coatings.

Features of cold and hot welding

Welding seams at home can be done in two ways - cold and hot way. Cold welding is a tube with an adhesive mass consisting of plasticizers, chlorine and tetrahydrofuran.

Hot welding is performed using a special hair dryer and a cord that melts under high temperature. The liquid mass fills the seam, which gives a strong and tight connection. This method is considered the highest quality, but requires special equipment and the ability to work with it.

Work should be carried out carefully so that the adhesive mixture does not get on the surface of the coating.

Before purchasing felt linoleum, you should clarify how it can be glued together. Some types of household linoleum cannot be hot glued, as the material is soft and does not withstand high temperatures.

Cold welding is performed in the following sequence:

  1. To carry out the work, you will need to purchase a tube with welding, masking tape, a sharp construction knife and a ruler.
  2. Felt linoleum is laid by the butt-to-butt method. The quality of the docking and the coincidence of the pattern are checked.
  3. Next, the joint is pasted with masking tape. It is desirable that the seam is located in the middle of the tape. After that, an incision is made through the tape right along the joint.
  4. Before applying the composition, it is recommended to carefully study the instructions. The tube should be opened and put on a special needle nozzle.
  5. The needle is inserted into the incision. Next, with a uniform movement, the seam should be filled with welding along the entire length of the joint.

Work must be done with the utmost care. If welding enters an unprotected area, it is rather problematic to remove it without damaging the linoleum. After 10-15 minutes, the tape can be removed. Complete drying of welding occurs within 2-3 hours, depending on the manufacturer.

Hot welding is a more labor intensive process. You will need to purchase or rent a welding dryer with a special nozzle. A special cord will be used as an adhesive composition, resembling linoleum in composition.

The hot welding process consists of the following:

  1. To carry out work, in addition to equipment, you will need to take a sharp knife and prepare a vacuum cleaner for quick garbage collection.
  2. After checking the quality of the docking and matching the pattern, the seam is trimmed under the chamfer. This can be done with a regular construction or special curved joint knife.
  3. Next, you need to carefully remove all debris. The seam and the space between the linoleum sheets should be well cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.
  4. The hair dryer is heated to a temperature of 350-400 ° C. After the nozzle is put on, and the cord is inserted. The initial burn of the cord is in progress.
  5. Start welding the seam. The space between the joint is filled with the molten composition along the entire length.

After the seam dries, the remains of welding are cut off with a knife. It is better to do this with a special knife for trimming. First, most of the protruding welding is cut off, and then the finishing cut is flush with the felt coating.
