We use electromagitic valves in order to close or open water. I never told about these valves, because I thought that everything was all and so clear. But some time ago I was faced with the fact that this valve had to be serviced and taking the opportunity to decide to make a small post about them.

What is the difference between the electromagnetic valve from the crane with the electric drive and where is it better to put? And in general, what are they needed? And they need to sharply (quickly) open or clean the flow of water or other liquid. Some valves can only work with water, some with air and water. The fact that the valve works quickly is and good and bad. Well it is where you need to dose something on small pressures: watering plants, plot, clean water after the filter. And bad where the water flow rate is large and due to its sharp open / closure, severe hydrate can occur.

That is, the place is such a valve - after pressure reducers on waste water lines. But put it as the main introductory crane so that he closes all the water in the apartment when the protection against leaks is triggered. Because the valve is less reliable than a crane with an electric drive and also gives hydrophole. Crane with an electric drive will be closed slowly and check all sorts of sorts and rust. Just such a case, I also happened, using them, I decided to see what is inside the electromagnetic valve. It turned out that it is very easy to understand and serviced.

In the early models of these valves, the electromagnet coil was not calculated on big time Work. Somewhere in the hour of work, if water does not flow on the valve and does not cool it, the coil heated strongly and I was scared to forget to turn off the light in the toilet (we are talking about the apartment in Moscow, where I did). Now (I bought a valve a year ago) this glitch is fixed and the coil is not at all warm. Most likely the manufacturer has increased the number of turns of the wire in the coil to reduce the current. This guess is confirmed by the fact that the new coil size is one and a half more than an old one. Once I left for the cottage and forgot to cut out the light in the toilet for two days. Where do I have these valves:

If the hole is closed by the piston, the water passes through other holes and presses on the membrane from above, tightly pressing it and closing the path to the exit. And if the piston is open, the water enters the valve output, the pressure is compared with the pressure under the membrane and there it does not interfere with water to flow to the valve output. That is, with the help of a small silent hole we manage great pressure.

The valve opens very easily - you need to unscrew only four screws. Under the top lid there is a small spring, which creates the initial pressure on the membrane and the membrane itself.

In my case, the valve damage was the small fragment of the cheap filter cartridge. His body split into several pieces, and the fragment along the thin tube reached the valve and interfered with the membrane tightly close the valve output:

I was afraid that the membrane broke through that the valve was already broken and that they would have to change. In fact, these are good valves (if applied competently) and after I washed the membrane and cleaned it, everything worked and continues to work further. I have these valves from the moment I launched my plumbing - since 2012.
