Houses from a bar from the inside. Beautiful decoration inside a log house: options and technologies. Finishing and subfloor

Having finished with the construction of a house from a bar, it is too early to relax. The final stage is finishing work inside the premises to give the house a cozy atmosphere. You can see the options for interior decoration of a house from a bar in the given photos.

Interior finishing works

Finishing work inside a log house includes several stages, which include:

  • communications (electricity, pipelines for water, heating and sewerage);
  • wood treatment with impregnating antiseptics and compositions for fire resistance;
  • heat and waterproofing of the house;
  • preparatory work for finishing walls, ceilings and floors;
  • installation of interior doors;
  • finishing works on walls, ceilings and floors.

Without work experience and sufficient knowledge of repair, it is advisable to hire workers for a well-performed work, for which you will have to spend more money than planned. This is especially true of communications.

An example of interior decoration of a wooden house

Before proceeding with the finishing work of the premises inside, it is necessary to draw up a thoughtful design to the smallest detail. This will help you to clearly see what you need to strive for and calculate the required amount of materials and their cost.

Features of interior decoration work in houses from a bar

The interior decoration of the house consists in the use of the same materials that are used in other houses. But wooden houses have two important features that must be considered before starting finishing work:

  • the primary shrinkage of houses made of timber is significantly higher than that of others. Before it is finished, it may take two to six years after construction is completed;
  • secondary shrinkage. It is not very noticeable (less than 1% of the floor height).

The primary shrinkage is affected by the drying of the timber and its slight decrease in volume. There is a decrease in the gaps between the bars, which is affected by the constantly acting load. As a result, after the end of shrinkage, the floor height decreases by 2-3 cm. Significant deformation can negatively affect the finishing work (the appearance of cracks of different sizes in the plaster, tiles falling off in places).

Cross-section of glued laminated timber

Glued laminated timber will help to resolve the issue over time. In this case, the shrinkage of the house will stop one year after the completion of the construction.

Secondary shrinkage is influenced by fluctuations in temperature and moisture content of the wood. It should not adversely affect the claddings.

Materials for finishing a house from a bar inside

There are several options for interior decoration of a house made of glued or profiled timber for the first time after construction.

Floor installation

Before laying the floor covering, it is necessary to raise the subfloor with the insulation and waterproofing layer embedded in it and covered with boards. This floor structure is quite simple, retains heat well and protects against noise.

Materials for clean flooring are:

  • Sliced sheet pile board. It is a clean, ecological material that is breathable and has excellent moisture resistance. The board is strong, durable and easy to clean. Has many options for processing and tinting. Renewable well with sanding or regular sanding. Such a floor covering is not suitable for carrying out a "warm floor", because most of the heat will be spent on heating the tongue itself.
  • Parquet board or laminate. The material is suitable for carrying out the "warm floor" system. When choosing a coating that has good thermal conductivity, you need to pay attention to the one that is indicated by the corresponding marking.

In a wooden house, it is better to make a wooden floor.

Wall decoration

Before decorating the walls in a house from a bar inside, you need to treat them with an antiseptic.

Treated wood. Wood in itself can be a wonderful finishing material. In the case when the surface of the inner walls does not have any imperfections, then they can be left like that, without finishing anything. It is only necessary to impregnate the wood with a special compound to obtain the desired shade.

Painting the walls will not only preserve the natural wood structure, but also provide additional protection for the wood. It is necessary to choose paint and varnish coatings for interior walls that have the lowest amount of harmful substances.

Plaster... It is necessary to decorate the walls with it only after a year has passed after the construction of the house. Here it is important to pay special attention to the waterproofing of wooden surfaces.

Block house or lining... When the exterior of the walls does not look very attractive, but you want to preserve the special pattern that the wooden surface has, such materials are used. This finish is only applicable after the house has shrunk. For installation, a frame is created that will slightly reduce the area of the room.

Wall panels... They are made from wood without adding glue. The material is environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic. They have good thermal insulation characteristics, easy installation and excellent sound absorption. The panels are covered on top with vinyl wallpaper or linen cloth.

Drywall... On this type of finish, after applying the putty, wallpaper is glued, painted and tiled. For rooms with high humidity, it is necessary to choose moisture-resistant drywall. His leaves have a greenish tint.

The material is environmentally friendly and lightweight. It is mounted on a metal or wooden frame. This design prevents the timber and drywall from contacting, which keeps the load-bearing walls and cladding from cracking. Behind it you can carry out electrical wiring, water supply and other communications, which will be conveniently hidden. If necessary, it is convenient to lay an insulating layer.

You can leave wooden walls just wooden

Ceiling decoration

Often, during the decoration of a log house inside, the beams on the ceiling do not close, but serve as an element of the interior. Unfinished ceiling will harmoniously fit into different styles (Provence, country). Until 5-6 years have passed for the end of the shrinkage of the house, drywall or stretch ceiling is a wonderful material. It will perfectly cover the ceiling well without interfering with the shrinkage of the house.

During the shrinkage of the house, forces are redistributed in the beams on the ceiling. Only after its completion it will be possible to finish the ceiling in the usual ways, such as plaster.

It is necessary to take a responsible attitude to the interior decoration of the premises, which consists of a number of activities. Do not forget about significant shrinkage at home and wood sensitivity to moisture.

It is important to start the finishing work correctly, otherwise later all violations and deviations from technology will come to light. Correcting such errors is often more expensive than doing the whole job anew. We recommend that you read the video, perhaps you need a similar finish.

- interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house made of timber with plasterboard

Nowadays, the construction of wooden houses and their interior decoration are becoming especially popular. They are attractive for their qualities, such as - environmental friendliness, aesthetics, comfort of living in a good wooden house. As an example - compare your personal feelings from being in a brick house or a house made of wood. I am sure that
the second option will be chosen by the absolute majority. But when building a house made of wood, you must take into account some factors on which the durability of the structure and the convenience of your stay in it depend. And now we will consider in more detail, a rather important issue is the interior decoration of a wooden house.

1) Features of the interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house from a bar

You should start interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house from a bar only after a more detailed study of the technology, methods and their advantages. It is very important that the interior materials are breathable. In a wooden house, this must be taken into account not only for interior decoration, but also for exterior decoration. If finishing
sheathing materials will not allow air to pass through, there will be an elementary greenhouse effect in the premises of the house. To avoid this and ensure a normal microclimate in the house, then you will need to make additional forced ventilation. This will require additional cash costs from you and an increase in the volume of construction and finishing work.
The second important point when arranging the interior decoration of a wooden house is to use lightweight finishing materials. This will help avoid additional stress on walls and foundations.

2) When can you start interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house

The finishing of a wooden house can be started only after the final active shrinkage of the wooden frame. It is imperative to take into account the material from which the house is built. A more accurate end of shrinkage will depend on the average air temperature, humidity and climatic characteristics of the area.
Final shrinkage of walls made of:
- glued laminated timber - after 3-4 months
- ordinary timber or logs - after 1 year

You can start finishing the interior walls only after they have been completely caulked.
Caulking the walls is carried out in two stages:
- the first caulking of the walls of the house should be done 4-6 weeks after assembling all
walls.
- the walls are caulked a second time in 5-8 months.
For caulking the walls, you need to prepare a heat-insulating, sealing material. They usually use tow or jute. Having started caulking the walls of a wooden house, it is necessary to do this simultaneously from the inside and from the outside of the walls. Having finished the insulation with caulking on one side, you immediately need to move on to the other, this must be done right away in order to avoid possible distortion of the walls.

When all the insulation work is completed and the walls are caulked on both sides, then the building itself rises by a few centimeters. After a while - up to two weeks, the height will return to the same height and the caulking material will be compacted. This ensures a tight, complete adhesion of the caulking material to the logs, thereby increasing the thermal insulation of the house and necessarily preventing drafts.

After the walls have completely shrunk, after caulking, for good insulation, you can walk with a sealant along all the seams over the caulking.

3) Preparing the walls before finishing

Before starting the interior decoration of a wooden house, take a look at how the walls are stacked. If everything is done neatly, insulation does not stick out of the joints, then perhaps wall decoration is not needed in any rooms. And it would be better to avoid money costs to apply high-quality paints and varnishes, while maintaining a peculiar flavor in the interior of a wooden house.

4) Interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house from a bar: options

Best suited for finishing wooden walls inside the house:
- wall decoration with clapboard (various colors and shapes)
- finishing with wall panels
- wall cladding with plasterboard
For all of the above materials, it will be necessary to make a frame over the entire surface of the walls. Make a base, a frame, preferably from wood. Wall cladding on the frame has the following advantages:
- there is no need to level the surface
- creating a gap for air circulation (this is very important for a wooden house)
- makes it possible to install additional thermal insulation.
When decorating a wooden house, it is important to leave a gap between the ceiling. It will be necessary given the various deformations and possible micro-shrinkage. The width of the gap is from 2 to 4 cm, it can be closed with a decorative ceiling plinth.

- interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house with clapboard

When decorating walls with clapboard, it is possible to use material from various types of wood, various types of clapboard. Divide the lining along the transverse profile.

The lining is fixed in several ways:
- on clamps
- on screws or nails at an angle
- on nails in the face (not very practical due to aesthetic reasons)
The first two fastening methods are quite time consuming. The fasteners are nailed so as not to damage the front surface of the lining. For interior decoration of walls with clapboard, a construction stapler with staples is also used, using staples with a narrow back and long legs. All fastening elements used must be made of stainless steel.
Lining made of wood, like wooden walls, allows for shrinkage. To avoid this, a chamber drying material should be used.

- interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house with wall panels

A very good finishing option and a great opportunity to diversify the interior and create your personal and unique look in the room. It is very widely used by designers for additional opportunities in the design of living quarters.

Interior decoration of a wooden house from a bar with wall panels is of different types:
- plastic
- wooden
- MDF
- bamboo
- leather
When attaching the panels themselves, the manufacturer's recommendations must be followed. The cladding is attached to the lathing of the wall surface. Depending on the material of the panels, the mounting methods are quite diverse, therefore, before purchasing the selected material, you should familiarize yourself with its features.

internal finishing walls wooden at home from timber drywall

Application for finishing drywall is quite common. Quite light material, simple installation of the panels themselves and a price quite affordable for a common consumer. Choosing drywall for interior wall decoration, observe the following recommendations:
- Drywall material is not durable and can be easily damaged. Finishing
it is recommended to use drywall no earlier than 1.5-2 years after
building a house.
- Care must be taken to ensure that the material does not get wet or high humidity.
- If the walls are finished with plasterboard immediately after construction, then you should
fasten the sheets to a floating frame, then the finish and base will be
move separately and this will not allow damage to the surface.
- To prevent the opening of joints or cracks in problem areas, it is necessary
will glue them with a reinforcing mesh made of polymer material.

When making a frame for fixing sheets, it is recommended to use slats and wooden bars. The use of a metal profile will require a waterproofing device - the rules for using different materials with different moisture properties and characteristics require a waterproofing device.

Wood is widely used in residential construction as the main material for walls, ceilings and floors. In our country, chopped huts were widespread everywhere.

The log was replaced by a new material - profiled timber. It is more convenient and technologically advanced in work. Decorating the interior space of a house from a bar is made at the request of its owner and is not mandatory.

The wood itself has an excellent texture and unique properties in the field of decoration. The timber undergoes preliminary and finishing processing on industrial equipment.

After grinding and applying special primers and varnishes, the surface of the material does not need any decorative coatings. However, this does not mean at all that in such houses it is impossible to make finishes to your liking.

A completely natural question arises: how to decorate a house from a bar inside, and what material is better to use? The answer is both simple and difficult. The reason for this is that almost any finishing technology can be used in such houses.

The difficulty lies in the fact that it is necessary to ensure reliable insulation of wood from moisture. Based on this, it is not recommended to use techniques with the application of plaster or putty.

The choice of material for finishing

A profiled bar in cross-section is an almost perfect square, in which the opposite sides are flat, and on the mating surfaces there is a groove on one edge, and a ridge on the other.

These elements are necessary to ensure the tightness of the joints. The right angles of the squares are chamfered along the entire length of the bar. The connection of parts of the same row in the corners of the structure is carried out by means of special inserts.

Smooth sides of the timber, after their qualified laying, form an almost ideal plane. She does not need any preliminary preparation and alignment. So, for example, lining, plastic sheets, MDF panels and drywall can be screwed directly to the timber without a special frame.

Practice shows that even unskilled workers, which, in fact, are the vast majority of homeowners, can do all the work on their own. The internal space of the house is formed by three planes: floor, walls and ceiling.

The finish of each of these surfaces has its own characteristics. Simple observation shows that it is the lower plane that deserves special attention.

Finishing floors

The location of this surface is such that it needs additional hydro and thermal insulation. The construction of a house from a bar provides for the presence of a power set, on which a subfloor is laid from a board or OSB plywood. On this surface, another supporting structure is made and a decorative floor covering is laid.

In expanded form, the work program looks like this:

  1. We put a waterproofing material on the surface of the subfloor. It can be: both roofing material and a film polymer membrane;
  2. We mount a power set from a rectangular bar of 50 × 100 mm, installed on an edge. This design has a different structure depending on what is supposed to be the topcoat. Under an ordinary board, the timber is installed in parallel with a step of 500 mm, and under plywood - in squares with a side of not more than 500-600 mm;
  3. Particular attention should be paid to fastening the power set to the floor; it must be sufficiently reliable and completely exclude the possibility of even minimal movement of elements. Self-tapping screws of the appropriate size are the best means of achieving this;
  4. We put insulation in the free space: foam plastic, mineral fiber mats or rolled glass wool;

  1. We cover with another layer of a vapor barrier made of a film membrane;
  2. We make the flooring of the finishing coating from the material selected in advance.

Useful advice: the best way in a house made of natural wood looks like a plank floor, laid with your own hands and varnished. When laying such a coating, it becomes necessary to create a tight contact between the individual floorboards. It can be achieved through the use of wedge technology.

Ceiling decoration

This surface in timber houses is formed by the supporting floor beams and the boarding between them. Finishing a log house inside the ceilings is mainly reduced to their grinding and opening with special primers and varnishes.

In a bathroom or kitchen, the air humidity is high and the wood flooring needs additional protection. PVC film suspended ceilings will cope with this task in the best way.

The choice of texture and color is determined by the general style of the design of this room. The choice of films for ceilings is huge and allows you to harmoniously fit them into almost any interior.

Advice! Before installing such a ceiling, you should perform waterproofing installation work. A polymer membrane is best suited. It is fixed to the floor using slats and self-tapping screws.

This will prevent condensation from forming on the wooden surface. The cost of this operation is relatively low, but the protection is reliable.

Wall decoration in the house from profiled timber

Given the decorative properties of this material, you can generally leave everything as it is, after thorough grinding and opening with a protective varnish. However, in some rooms with high humidity, ceramic tiles on the walls will not look superfluous.

It cannot be laid on wood, therefore, you must first create a base for it. For these purposes, moisture-resistant drywall is suitable, which can be attached directly to a bar or to a supporting structure made of steel profiles.

There are detailed instructions for working with this material, the repetition of which within the framework of this article is impractical. The second finish with a frame looks more preferable, because it will allow you to secretly place engineering communications.

conclusions

The best way to do this is described in sufficient detail above. The video in this article will help you to visually demonstrate the described processes, which will allow you to get a complete picture of them.

In what cases the external cladding of a house from a bar is really needed. It is known that even the most durable wood, including glued beams, is subject to decay processes, can swell under the wag of rainy weather conditions, and can negatively react to aggressive environmental influences. Wall cladding will help preserve the walls.

Why is it needed?

A house from a bar that has become old, has lost its original beauty or is new, recently built, requires external protection. Not to mention the fact that after facing it will significantly improve its appearance. The tree requires constant attention, every 4-5 years (deadline) it is required to treat it with protective agents, maintain the health of the wood, invest money, spend time. Sheathing will save money and effort, you need to do it without delay.

Important! A log house should be sheathed after 2-3 years of shrinkage, the exception is glued laminated timber, which practically does not change its shape.

However, only a competent facing of the house will protect it. The main advantage of wood is its ability to breathe. Correct finishing consists in maintaining the strength of the timber, creating a microclimate favorable to the health of the wood.

A wooden structure must, first of all, be protected from moisture. Increased moisture creates conditions for the formation of fungal formations, mold. Decay processes can turn wood into dust in a short time. The moisture level of the walls after shrinkage is 10-12%, the development of fungal colonies occurs when its level reaches 22%. The walls swell from slanting rains, fogs, during the period of snow melting, the tree, like a pump, draws in moisture and transfers it to the inter-crown heaters. Vapor saturation takes place from inside the house.

Wall protection - ventilation, vapor barrier. The use of diffusion membranes, with many micro-holes, windproof, repelling moisture drops and vapor barrier films that do not allow water vapor to pass through, are indispensable for proper wall cladding.

Important! Do not use polyethylene wrapping the structure tightly, not allowing the wood to breathe. The use of ordinary spunbond, megaizol and other vapor barrier membranes is preferable, by the way, they are not much more expensive.

It is mandatory to install ventilation gaps for any type of finish, which facilitate the release of moisture, free air circulation.

To equip the frame on which the finishing material is mounted, a wooden beam with a section of 4x5, 5x5 should be used. To create the recommended ventilation gap of 4-5 cm, you should use a counter rail from the same bar. A ventilated façade presupposes the presence of openings covered with grilles that allow free air flow.

Important! The use of a metal profile is not recommended. The metal freezes, condensation is released during thawing, filling the interior with moisture.

Flax or jute is preferable as a heater. Mats made of these materials are not cheap, but their use is fully justified. Mineral wool will sag over time, artificial polymer materials, which are not breathable, are not very useful for health, while natural insulation lasts a long time and protects reliably.

What properties should materials have?

There are a lot of materials for cladding a house. But those are needed that have characteristics that are important for this purpose:

  • low thermal conductivity;
  • high fire resistance;
  • biological resistance;
  • inertness to chemical environments;
  • breathability.

Added to this is the ease of installation and low cost. The aesthetic merits of materials are not of the last importance.

For cladding a log house, the construction market offers different options today, it is worth considering only a few of them. It:

  • block house;
  • corrugated board;
  • siding;
  • brick;
  • thermal panels.

These materials have undoubted advantages and disadvantages. Everyone has different cost and performance parameters. Each type of finish can be used for a log house, in terms of preserving the walls, protecting them.

The advantages of a block house start with an attractive appearance. This is especially valuable for those who would like to preserve the appearance of a wooden building. A block house according to the manufacturing method is:

  1. wooden;
  2. metal;
  3. vinyl.

The first one is made of natural wood, by processing "a square in a circle", the outer semicircles of the logs are cut, impregnated with special compounds, packed, excluding any deformation. The disadvantages include the weight of the finish, which creates a serious load on the foundation and load-bearing walls, which should be taken into account when finishing old houses, as a rule, without foundations.

Metal block - house imitates wood, it can be steel or aluminum. A clear advantage of the material is its durability, wear resistance, inertness to sunlight, biochemical aggression. Modern manufacturers offer a variety of colors, sophistication of textures, the buyer is given a worthy choice.

Vinyl block - house is made of PVC, its advantages are durability, light weight, resistance to temperature extremes. The disadvantages include the fragility of the material, especially in severe frosts. Aesthetic data is acceptable.

Installation of a block-house is carried out on a wooden frame, installed on a wall previously prepared and sheathed with a membrane film.

Important! The timber used for the frame requires additional treatment with antiseptics and fire retardants. The residual moisture content of the timber should not exceed 12%. If the weight of one stick is perceptible, it must be dried.

The step of the lathing is 50-60 cm, the counter lathing is made from a bar of the same section or 30x40 mm, installed on a wind protection layer. Installation of block house panels begins from the bottom up. Pay attention to the horizontal installation. The lower part of the building (at least 30cm from the ground) is sheathed with stone or plinth panels.

The block - house is equipped with convenient locking joints, panels can be fastened to the crate with clamps, self-tapping screws, galvanized nails.

The main advantage of corrugated board is its price. Just like all the materials considered in the article, it is easy to install, and therefore popular with those who do everything with their own hands. In addition, the corrugated board is strong, has good performance characteristics, low weight, which does not particularly increase the load on the load-bearing walls and foundation.

Manufacturers offer plain sheets or with a pattern imitating wood. Sheets are produced with a thickness of 0.8mm to 1mm, the height of the corrugation ranges from 8mm to 35mm, the width of the sheet is also different from 1076x1035 to 1200x1150 mm.

What is corrugated board, it is a corrugated steel sheet with an outer coating, there are two types of office:

  1. zinc;
  2. polymer.

A fairly frequently used coating is galvanized. It is applied in the process of rolling the sheet by hot application. The use of such a profiled sheet is unlikely to decorate the house, dull colors, boring gray even for a fence is not suitable, in addition, over time, the material becomes vulnerable to corrosion, the only advantage is its low cost.

Advice! It is better to use a profiled sheet with a polymer coating, its cost is not much different from galvanized sheets, and the advantages are much higher.

The zinc / aluminum combination coating eliminates these disadvantages. The professional sheet acquires quite decent technical characteristics, resistance to biochemical effects, abrasion, and anti-corrosion properties. Polymer coatings with similar chemical and technical characteristics also look attractive. Polymers are applied over galvanized. Plastoisol with a layer of 175 microns protects from ultraviolet radiation, polyester adds shine to surfaces, pural significantly improves the strength of the sheet and its appearance.

Wall surfaces are sheathed with profiled sheets according to the principle of a ventilated facade. If necessary, lay a layer of insulation, mandatory vapor barrier and wind protection. It can be mounted on a frame made of wooden beams or metal profiles.

Profile step 60cm. First, self-aligning brackets are installed on self-tapping screws. Installation is carried out along one vertical. U-shaped vertical profiles are placed on the brackets. Then the insulation and vapor barrier are attached. Then the professional sheet is mounted. Fastened with self-tapping screws with caps and washers.

Important! There must be an expansion gap between the head and the profiled sheet, which is necessary for the expansion of the material under the influence of heat. Extensions are installed at the joints to hide them.

Fastening to a bar is similar, only instead of U-shaped profiles, bars placed on the edge are installed.

In principle, a large plinth is not needed, but its presence is important in terms of the aesthetic perfection of the facade.

Siding

Refers to the most popular types of facade design. The material is relatively inexpensive, has all the necessary technical and operational advantages. Suffice it to say that such a finish lasts up to 50 years. Houses clad with siding look attractive, neat.

First, they make the obligatory preparation of the walls, remove unnecessary parts, remove lanterns, ebb tides, window sills, and take out nails. Slots and cracks are filled with sealants. The timber is treated with antiseptics, impregnations with protective properties that extend the life of the wood.

Advice! It is better to use silicone sealants, when they harden, they isolate cracks from moisture, hold them together, enhancing the cohesion of the tree.

For the frame, it is preferable to use a beam of 40x40, 40x50mm, treated with an antiseptic against decay and microorganisms. During installation, you need to monitor the evenness of the lines so that the siding surface is perfect, use a level.

Insulation is placed between the racks of the crate, a vapor barrier membrane film is mounted on top. Then the crate is installed to obtain a ventilated facade. The timber for it can be smaller in size 30x40mm.

Siding installation begins from the start panel. All subsequent strips are installed with a gap for thermal expansion. The corners are equipped with special elements, as well as individual parts will be needed to frame window and door openings. Manufacturers believe that for the installation of siding, there are enough lock joints with which all the strips are equipped, but practice shows that additional fixation with self-tapping screws will not hurt.

The choice of siding is great. Plastic siding is distinguished by excellent properties, hygroscopicity, inertness to biochemical effects, durability. Its price is quite affordable for the average income. The disadvantage is fragility, especially in cold weather, average resistance to combustion. Metal siding is characterized by increased wear resistance, does not fade in the sun, unlike plastic siding. Durability and ability to preserve its original appearance are its special advantages. Disadvantages - higher price, more weight. Wooden siding is not in great demand. Such protection requires constant care, treatment with antiseptics; it is not reasonable to protect the tree with a tree. For finishing the basement, there is a special siding - basement.

Brick finishing

Brick cladding is the construction of a barrier of considerable weight. Such cladding should be planned at the design stage. In addition, a well-equipped ventilation system is required to free the timber from excess moisture. It is advisable to use brick cladding only if the house is laid out of a bar with a section of 150x150, saving on wall material, you will have to spend on additional insulation so that the operation does not ruin the family budget.

The foundation must be wide so that the area of the sole can withstand the general loads. Ventilation gap at least 50 mm wide to the width of the insulation layer. You will need ventilation holes equipped with gratings in the second row of masonry every 10 meters.

The brick is fastened to the timber wall with the help of ties - metal elements, one of which is walled up into the seam of the masonry, and the second is hammered into the timber. There are 5 ties per 1m in length of a brick; in height, the ties are mounted on every 5th row.

Important! Brick cladding is done only after complete shrinkage.

After sheathing, the house looks presentable, solid. Its performance is enhanced.

Facing a house from a bar with thermal panels

New technologies are gradually entering our lives. Sheathing with thermal panels not only significantly improves the characteristics of the house, it radically changes the appearance of the building, turning it into a fabulous tower.

The material replaces brick, stone, does not require insulation, the multilayer porous structure reliably protects the walls from moisture, frost, and other environmental influences. No vapor barrier or wind protection is required, everything is provided in the structure of the panels. Installing thermal panels and forgetting about the problems of the facade for many years, paying, however, decent money for the material is a reasonable solution.

Installation can be done by wet method (thermal panels are glued to the wall surface), lathing can be installed. Fastening is carried out by tightly joining the panels to each other, fixing with self-tapping screws.

The choice of material for cladding a house from siding is varied. What is best for you - decide!

Many people believe that building a house under a roof is an almost finished house. And only those who have faced this issue not for the first time or know the experience of friends and relatives can say that this is not even half of the work until the moment when it will be possible to enter the house. For a comfortable life, you need to carry out communications, install windows, doors, place furniture and decor elements. We will try to understand the intricacies of such a question as the interior decoration of a house from a bar. The construction of houses from profiled or glued beams is now not inferior to the volume of brick housing construction, so this issue will be relevant for many.

Conditionally, the interior decoration can be divided into several large stages that do not depend on the materials used. For a house made of timber, there will be only a few features. This is due to the peculiarities of such log cabins, they have shrinkage and good vapor permeability.

The main stages of finishing a house from a bar inside:

  • Equipment of the building with engineering and communication systems (electricity, gas, water supply and sewerage);
  • Protection of wooden structures with fire retardant compounds. During the finishing process, they will be hidden behind the finishing finishing materials, and at the end of finishing work you will not be able to access them, so you need to protect them as much as possible to ensure the durability of the wood;
  • Preparation of floors, walls and ceilings for finishing materials;
  • Installation of windows and doors;
  • Finishing of the floor, ceiling and walls inside the house.

Now let's dwell on each stage in more detail.

Conducting communications in the house

It is difficult to imagine a person who would be an expert in all areas of intra-house communications. Trying to wire electricity, water or heating according to the advice from the Internet is very risky. This can lead to additional costs for carrying out these communications again, to unscheduled home repairs.

Ask an expert

It is better to entrust these complex works to specialists. Part of the communications could have been laid even at the stage of building the building.

Most of the communications are trying to hide behind the finishing elements, so this stage begins immediately after the construction of the building. In addition, the subsequent shrinkage of the house does not interfere with the work with communications.

Protection of rough house structures with antiseptics

Wood is a natural material and is therefore susceptible to mold and insects. Under the finish, you will no longer be able to control these processes, so you need to take care of the protection of the wood. Wood is also a flammable material. Now there are a lot of compounds that provide comprehensive protection of wood from rot, insects, and also increase the ignition temperature of wood (sometimes they even make wood a completely non-combustible material). All of these compounds are harmless to human health after application, as they bind to wood at a chemical level. The main thing is to observe the application technology, the consumption rates of the formulations, as well as the safety precautions for working with them. Wood preservatives are affordable and can be done by anyone on their own without additional training.

Preparation of surfaces for finishing

Preparation of walls, ceiling and floor for finishing is not always required. It all depends on the material chosen for the finishing.

In the case of building a house from glued or profiled timber, preparation of walls for finishing (painting) is not required, except when cladding material will be used. In this case, a wooden lathing is installed, which is also pre-treated with an antiseptic. It should be remembered that it is impossible to sheathe the walls of a house from a bar in the first two years of installing a log house (if materials of natural moisture were used during construction).

Preparation of floors for finishing is also not always necessary. Very often, a solid board is used as a floor covering in the house. Preparation for finishing painting of such floors consists in puttying and grinding irregularities. But these works are usually performed immediately before the application of paints and varnishes. In the case of using laminate, parquet, tiles, it is necessary to make a flat, even base. In the case of tiling, the flooring will have to be made of chipboard or fiber cement boards.

Preparation of ceilings for finishing is also rarely needed. Everything will depend on the type of ceiling chosen: with visible beams, with cladding, stretch ceilings, plaster. Only for plastering will you need to patch GKL sheets.

Installation of windows and doors

Working with window or doorways in a house from a bar is a rather complex issue that requires considerable skills. This is again due to the shrinkage of the walls of the house made of timber. Do not fix window frames or door frames to the wall. You need to worry about installing the casing.

There are several options for mounting the casing. The main function is performed by vertical posts. The top and bottom box rails can be made from a regular dry board.

T-shaped casing. In this case, a groove is cut out at the ends of the timber in the openings. The most reliable option would be to use monolithic casing elements, which are made by carpentry workshops.

However, for small openings, a makeshift casing can be used. In the groove cut out at the ends, a bar is laid, to which an ordinary dry board is attached with self-tapping screws.

The U-shaped casing is more difficult to manufacture. In this case, spikes are left at the ends of the timber, on which the deck will be put on. The advantage of this box is its absolute heat and moisture insulation. That is, the access of moisture or wind is completely limited to the ends of the timber. Such casing bars are made only in carpentry workshops by special order and are usually 30% more expensive than T-shaped ones.

Above the upper bar, a gap of at least 7 cm must be left, which is filled with mineral wool, previously wrapped in a vapor barrier film.

When working with doors, the casing can be made of glued, knot-free material. A quarter is immediately made in it for the installation of the door leaf. Such casing boxes are made according to the thickness of the wall; they do not require the installation of slopes and the purchase of additional equipment.
As you can see, installing windows and doors in a house made of timber is not a very simple technology. When ordering a large number of windows and doors, the company may offer you a significant discount on installation. This offer should not be neglected.

Finishing the walls

Painting

Houses built from profiled or glued beams have an aesthetic appearance of the walls from the inside. In this case, only painting should be attributed to finishing. The choice between opaque paints or tinting impregnations is yours. The main thing is to observe the rule: the vapor permeability of wood must not be impeded. To paint the walls inside the house, do not use paints that prevent the wood from breathing. Try to choose a paint and varnish material specifically for interior work. All-purpose impregnations can smell strong and release harmful substances. If we have already built an eco-friendly house, then the paint for it should be harmless to human health.

Sheathing with wooden materials

In the case of using sawn or profiled timber of natural moisture, significant cracks may appear on the walls. In this case, the walls are sheathed with finishing materials. Wooden elements are most suitable, as they do not interfere with the breathing of the house and maintain its microclimate.

If you have chosen a timber for the construction of your house, then a laconic solution for cladding would be to decorate a wooden house with an imitation of a timber. This is a specially milled board equipped with a tenon and a groove for mounting. When assembled, the wall looks identical to the wall of a log house made of laminated veneer lumber. Imitation of a bar has various thicknesses and widths. As mentioned above, a wooden crate is required for installation. Boards are attached to the crate with special clamps. Let us remind you that it is possible to sheathe the walls no earlier than two years after the construction of the log house. After sheathing, the imitation is also covered with paints and varnishes.

In addition to imitation of timber, walls can also be sheathed with clapboard, blockhouse, plank or other wooden elements. Installation of any wooden material is similar to imitation timber cladding.

Wall cladding with sheet materials

Sheathing with sheet materials is used for decorating walls with plaster, wallpaper, and for installing tiles. Usually chipboard or gypsum board is used, less often GVL. For sheet material, aluminum profiles are used as lathing, which are attached to the walls with hangers.

Wall cladding with MDF or PVC panels. These materials are rarely used, but they also require attention. For installation, they do not differ from wood sheathing. The panels are also equipped with a tenon and a groove, can be attached to the crate with self-tapping screws or clamps. The disadvantage of this cladding option is their vapor permeability, which disrupts the natural circulation of air and moisture.

Finishing of floors

Painting. In the case of using a solid board as a finishing flooring, only coating with paints and varnishes is required. Usually, varnishes are used on an alkyd-urethane or acrylic-urethane base. Each of them has a number of advantages: alkyd - more wear-resistant, acrylic - do not smell when applied, but have less abrasion resistance. It should be noted that slatted floors are an excellent base for laminate, parquet or linoleum.

Linoleum, laminate, parquet board. A perfectly flat base made of plywood or chipboard should be prepared for these materials. Installation is carried out in accordance with the technology for each of the materials.

Finishing of ceilings

Painting. Ceiling beams and filing are often used as trimmings. Often the owners want the house to look like it used to be, so the ceiling beams are not hemmed from below. They are simply polished or artificially aged and then coated with paints and varnishes.

Wood paneling. As in the case of walls, imitation timber is often used for decoration. A ceiling made of such a material will fit very well into the interior, even if only painting was used to decorate the walls. Other wood materials can also be used. Separately, it is worth noting a slatted wooden ceiling, when boards or slats are sewn with a gap. Ceiling sticks serve as crate, which are already set in level and ideal plane.

On the modern market there are a lot of materials for interior decoration. Each of them has its own installation technology, but, in fact, any material can be assembled by hand. The main thing is not to deviate from the technology proposed by the manufacturer.
