Letters to the heroine are dead, how dead are the relationships with the person who wrote them. No wonder Tyutchev uses the epithet familiar   sheets as if talking about people. On the other hand, the sheets are familiar not only to the heroine. The lyrical hero recognizes their letters in them.

In the third stanza, the motive of killed love and joy just appears. This stanza is different from the other three in emotional intensity. Outwardly, everything still remains calm, but exclamations emphasized by interjection burst from the heart of the lyrical hero about. Tyutchev describes the life of the past remaining in letters as irreversibly experienced, and calls minutes woeful   (epithets).

The motive for death remains in the fourth stanza. The lyrical hero is “terribly sad.” Word scary   - a stronger adverb than highly. But the male figure towering over exhausted sitting on the floor of a female - a symbol of the insolubility of the conflict between lovers.

The poem "She was Sitting on the Floor" absolutely does not need the context of Tyutchev's biography, it is understandable to anyone regardless of whether he is familiar with the life of the poet. But still, the poem is autobiographical. Ernestina knew about Denisieva and was able to live with this knowledge.
