DIY cardboard box house. How to make a cardboard house for a child

What could be more interesting than how to make a house out of cardboard with your own hands, and give it the look that you like the most?

The cardboard house is a toy that every child can use. Someone will use it for role-playing games, someone - for staging small scenes and plays. But he will definitely not remain idle.

Before making a house, you need to cut out a blank out of cardboard, which looks like two pairs of rectangles, on top and bottom to which narrower rectangles are attached. Pairs of basic rectangles alternate: first there is a wider rectangle, then - narrower, then again wide and narrow. At the first, wide rectangle, we make an additional narrow insert on the side. Bend the joints of the rectangles.

Cut through the window in the second wide rectangle. We turn the cut cardboard into shutters.

We assemble our workpiece, fix it with glue or adhesive tape. We leave the upper inserts free for now, do not bend them inward.

Now we need it. We take dry hollow sticks. We cut them into two parts. We will get logs that are very similar to real ones.

We lay out the walls of our house with logs.

It is necessary to paste over each wall, if possible, fixing the logs as close to the corners as possible.

Cut out two identical rectangles and a pair of identical triangles from cardboard. We get the details of the roof.

We glue these parts to the upper inserts above the house.

Before glueing the rectangular fragments, we connect them together.

Then we take long velvet leaves.

We lay out rectangular parts of the roof with them - as with tiles or shingles.

We take a small bundle of straw.

Cut it into straws different lengths, and lay out the triangular part of the roof with them.

We spread the edges from sticks.

Our house takes the form of a forest hut!

Glue sticks on the edges of the shutter.

And let's start decorating. You can, for example, hang a physalis on the roof - it will look like a real lantern.

We hang a bunch of leaves or herbs near the window.

The hut is ready!

All that remains is to find a suitable place for her. You can, for example, place such a house in a garden, on a veranda, or between flower pots. You will get a miniature forest.

That's all! We learned how to make a cardboard house for children not only interesting, but also unusual, making it look like a forest hut or hut.

House made of cardboard - ideas with photos

There are a huge number of options for houses made of cardboard. From cardboard boxes you can make very stylish multi-storey houses for games with small figures.

This simple house is easy to glue, focusing on the schematic drawings below.

Here is a diagram of the simplest house.

Once for my one-year-old daughter, I made a house out of cardboard box... And here's what I noticed:

Liza enjoyed playing in a cardboard box house rather than in a beautiful factory tent.

She loved to hide in this house, to drag toys there, to wallow in balls. Then this house fell into disrepair, and we threw it away.

Once, when I saw a large box in the store (they wanted to throw it away), I thought: "Why not try to make a house again, together with my daughter, because she has already grown up (three years old) and can participate in the process ..." And I took this box home ...

Arriving home, it became clear that the box was too small in height. Last time, such a box was enough for us just right, but here it turned out, I didn't calculate ... The child grew up!

And I decided to get out of this situation like this:

The bottom of the box did not have to be folded, as it should be in an ordinary box, but due to the bottom, the walls had to be lengthened, then the house would turn out without a floor.

I did just that, took a box of infant formula (you can take any other cardboard) and cut off a corner from this box.

She fastened the two sides of the continuation of the box with it. I did this with each side. It didn't work to glue it with tape, everything was falling apart.

After we lengthened the sides, the box immediately became taller.

The next step was the roof. I cut out the end sides with triangles, leaving a couple of centimeters on the sides for the hem.

I attached the sides to the end ones and fastened them with glue, and here and there with a stapler for strength (if you use a stapler, make sure that the staples are well bent, otherwise the child may get scratched).

The frame of the future house has already been drawn.

Then on the long side of the house in the center, I marked out with a pencil lines for the window cut.

After that, with the help of a clerical knife and scissors, I cut through the window.

Also, from the end side of the house, I cut through the door.

Then my daughter asked me a question: "Where is the pipe?"

I had to come up with a pipe. I took a paper towel sleeve (there are those in the middle of paper towels) and cut one end of the tube so that it will stand upright when we glue it to the roof. And glued it with the notched end to the roof of the house.

Then I decided that the box needed to be painted. After the repair, a little white water-based paint remained, so I decided to use it. Since it is odorless and harmless, if my daughter decides to help me. (And the child will definitely "help").

In general, we painted the house itself in White color, shutters, door and chimney - in peach (added color scheme).

We used wine and champagne corks as handles on the door and shutters. They had to cut off one side a little with a knife (make it flat) in order to better adhere.

Oh yes! I almost forgot the doorway, the door itself, the shutters and the window opening, I taped with tape so that the child would not cut himself while playing.
So that the shutters do not close when they feel like it, I decided for them to come up with elastic bands attached to the house. The elastic bands can be hooked onto the handle and the shutters will not close.

Well, now it remains to finish the roof ...
I took another box and cut off the corner of the long side. I put it to the top of the roof and glued it with tape and a stapler.

I wondered how to decorate our house.
And I came up with it!
Making a thatched roof like in cartoons will be fabulous!
But where to get straw in the city? And this option is probably too garbage ...
Then I decided to try to make "straw" out of paper. Remembered about the roll to no one the desired wallpaper and decided to chop it up into straw.

Wallpaper was light brown tint, I thought: "I need to paint" I took water-based paint, added a yellow color scheme there, stretched the wallpaper on the balcony and, together with an assistant, painted the wallpaper on the seamy side. It turned out that on the one hand they are light brown, they shine a little, and on the other, they are yellow.

Then came the most long work... I had to cut into strips and roll our "straw" into bundles-sheaves. While I was slicing, winding, the bundles went all over the apartment! And I did not cut them in one day. But my daughter played enough with them.

Then we nevertheless collected them in a heap and attached them in pairs to the roof. One sheaf on one side, the other on the other.

At the top, we stapled them together with a stapler. Before putting the sheaves, I painted the roof in yellow so that it does not show through the "straw". It turned out to be a very bright roof of a fabulous house.

We decided to decorate the shutters and the house itself with stickers: flowers and dragonflies (these stickers are going through more than their first life, I think not the last).
A cardboard clock was attached above the door, with the arrows spinning (a developing element).

I sewed the curtains and attached them to the inside of the window, with glue (probably also with double-sided tape). A mattress was laid on the floor. And a small battery-powered lamp was hung on the wall. It became very comfortable inside.

Then the daughter said: "We need to attach a cockerel to the roof."

They cut a cockerel out of cardboard and attached a cardboard weather vane to the roof. "Now this is a real house!" - My daughter was delighted.

I think that the improvements to the house will not end there, you can still come up with something interesting inside. But while her daughter is playing and she likes: either she is a mother with a lyalka, or a kitten that jumps out of the window onto the street, sometimes just hides in it and knows that no one will disturb her there - in her own house ...

Useful Tips

Sooner or later, everyone has cardboard boxes on the balcony, in the closet or in the country.

Not all of these boxes are worth throwing away, as many interesting and even useful crafts can be made from them.

One of these crafts is a playhouse for children.

Such a house can be built and decorated with children, who will be very interested in learning something new.

Folding cardboard house

1. Start with an empty box. Turn it on its side so that the exposed portion is perpendicular to the floor.

2. Cut off the top of the box and save it - later this will serve as half of the roof.

3. Use wide tape to secure some parts of the box.

4. From the other cardboard, cut a piece that will be the second half of the roof.

5. Use duct tape to glue the roof halves together.

6. Connect the roof and the house, and tape them together.

7. Make the house foldable. Place the house face down and cut the back and bottom of the house in the middle. Also cut the area where the bottom and back of the house meet.

8. Add tape where you made the cuts. Make sure the bottom and back of the house fold in the right direction. Tape up any areas you think are loose.

DIY house made of cardboard with a pipe and a door

You will need:

Hot glue with glue gun

Stationery knife

Scissors

Several cardboard boxes.

A large box will be the main part of the house, and small boxes will be needed for such trifles as a pipe and window frames.

1. Cut off the pieces of the large box that form its lid - these will be used to create the roof.

2. Turn the box upside down. Cut out the door by making a large "L" cut.

3. Cut out the squares for the windows using a utility knife.

4. Glue the 2 pieces from the cut box lid. Repeat with the other two parts of the lid. You will end up with 2 halves that you can use to make the roof of your house.

5. For windows, you can cut 2 wide cardboard strips and glue them to the window. You can also cut some strips to create a window frame.

6. To glue the roof to the house, you must first connect the roof halves using small L-shaped cardboard pieces. Next, use the same details to glue the roof to the house.

7. Now we make a small roof. You will need a piece of cardboard of the correct size. Divide it in half (or just bend it) and glue it to the house in the same way as big roof, i.e. L-shaped details.

8. You can make a window in the door and, if you wish, glue a cardboard window frame to it.

9. Optional : If you want to make a pipe for a house, you will need a small box or 4 cardboard pieces of the same size that you need to glue into a small box.

10. Mark on the small box where you want to cut off so that the pipe lies flat on the roof of the house. To make it easier to do this, lean the box against the roof exactly from the side and draw lines with a pencil. When you glue the pipe to the roof, you can cover it with a cardboard lid and glue the cardboard toilet paper cylinder.

11. Optional: can add a handle to the door. Use any old pen and glue it to the door. You can also make a handle out of cardboard.

How to make a house out of cardboard with your own hands

You will need:

Large cardboard box

Wide tape (adhesive tape)

Stationery or construction knife

Metal ruler (to make even cuts)

Black marker

Double-sided tape (if necessary)

Curtain fabric (if needed).

1. Disassemble the box and turn it inside out so that the house is brown and solid later, and all the drawings on the boxes are hidden.

2. To make the house larger, those parts that form the box lid on one side must be lifted and secured in an upright position with adhesive tape (adhesive tape). Place the box on its side so that on one side there is an "entrance" to the house.

3. Optional: to make a diagonal roof of the house, use a clerical (or construction) knife to cut diagonally (a small corner) the upper part of the future house (the part that is now at the top, after you turned the box over).

Cut the triangular pieces from a cut piece of cardboard and tape the roof back to the house with tape.

4. Lower part cut off the house (the floor opposite the roof), fasten it with tape if necessary, and attach it to the open part of the box ("entrance", which was obtained in step 2).

5. Now it's time to cut into cardboard house windows and doors.

If you want, you can draw window frames, bricks and other details with a marker. You can also cut a small handle in the door (semi-oval on the edge of the door).
