Osram Night Breaker vs Philips X-treme Vision comparison. Philips Xenium X130 phone review: energy donor Philips extreme vision 130 lamps

For several years in a row, PHILIPS X-TREME VISION car lamps have been considered the best in their product segment. This is due to their optimal performance and long service life (up to 450 hours). Unlike analog light sources from other manufacturers, Philips X-TREME VISION stands out for its brightness increased by 130% and optimal luminous flux range (up to 130 meters).

The range of these lamps in the headlights

The beam from such devices resembles daylight as much as possible. It does not blind the eyes of other road users and does not create glare, opening a good view of the surrounding environment at night. Thanks to these properties, the use of autolamps of this series minimizes the driver's risks of becoming a participant in a traffic accident.

Features of X-TREME VISION car lamps

A significant advantage of the Extreme Vision halogen lamps is that they produce a powerful stream of light, the range of which is 35 meters higher than that of conventional lighting sources. The company was able to achieve this through the use of a unique filament design and a gas-filled quartz burner at a pressure of 13 bar. Thanks to sophisticated technology, Philips Extreme Vision delivers a white light of 3,700 K. It reduces eye strain and improves visibility on the roadway, ensuring increased driving safety.

Advantages of auto lamps from the "Avtosvet" store

  • UV resistant... In the production of X-TREME VISION auto lamps, a special coating is used that makes quartz glass resistant to ultraviolet radiation.
  • 130% brighter light... Providing excellent visibility on the track in the evening and at night, the halogen lamps of this model range provide additional time for the driver to recognize obstacles on the road in time and avoid potential hazards.
  • Resistant to vibration, temperature extremes and moisture... Unlike refractory glass, quartz glass is highly durable, so the risk of damaging the car lamp while driving on uneven, bumpy roads is minimal. Glass of this type also resists sudden changes in temperature, so even cold water entering through a broken headlight will not damage it.
  • Excellent contrast... The color temperature of the Philips Extreme Vision series light sources (3700 K) contributes to the concentration of the driver's attention while the vehicle is in motion, makes it possible to perceive contrasts even at a great distance.
  • Versatility... The X-TREME VISION range includes models for different base / plinth types (H1, H4 and H7). Such products are suitable for machines of domestic and foreign manufacturers with appropriate lighting systems.
  • Environmental sustainability... PHILIPS lighting products are lead and mercury free. It is made of high quality materials to ensure maximum safety and driving comfort. The products of this company are fully certified according to ECE standards.

Positioning

Each of us found ourselves in such a situation when a smartphone or phone, and indeed any electronic device, had a low battery, and there was no outlet or portable charger nearby. Until now, this problem could be solved in two ways: either buy an additional battery in advance, or - external charging. The first solution might not be suitable for those users who had a gadget with a non-removable battery, the second was suitable for almost everyone, but carrying a separate device with you just to charge the battery is not always convenient.

After the Philips Xenium X130 appeared, a third solution was found. Its essence lies in the fact that the X130 combines the functions of an ordinary dual-SIM phone and a portable charger with a 2000 mAh battery: the main mobile phone is discharged - we charge it with a "Phillip", and if there is no time, we use the X130 directly. The most important thing is that with such a device you not only will not be left without connection, but you will also be able to recharge some gadgets.

Design, dimensions, controls

The device is made in a classic strict design. The shape of the case is rectangular, the upper and lower ends are slightly rounded, the right and left edges of the lower central part of the front panel smoothly transition to the side edges. The display has a slightly curved shape, and it looks original.

The body of the device is made of different types and colors of plastic. So, for example, the front panel is a glossy silver plastic, a thin edging is a light gray porous plastic, the back cover is made of a dark gray semi-gloss plastic. The combination of such colors is already quite familiar for Philips phones.

The assembly is not bad, but during the rather long "use" of the X130, the back cover began to play a little. It is not particularly noticeable, but still this fact is present. Under strong squeezing, the device may crunch a little, but the central area of the back does not bend to the battery.

The materials are very resistant to external influences: I did not carry out crash tests, but after a month of carrying the phone in my pocket along with the keys, only slight scratches remained on the screen. It is apparently protected by plastic, since the nature of the scratches is closer to this material. Fingerprints and other marks remain only on the display and are easily erased.

The dimensions of Philips X130 are relatively compact (113x48x17.25 mm), although the thickness is a little confusing. However, with a 2000 mAh battery, you cannot count on other sizes. But we didn't go too far with the weight - only 102 grams. The Xenium X130 fits perfectly in the hand thanks to its sloping edges and streamlined design.

On the front panel there is a speaker that outputs sound during a conversation and speakerphone. It is quiet, in a noisy place the interlocutor is poorly heard, although the clarity and intelligibility are high.

The control system and keyboard are located under the screen. The microphone is on the bottom end, there is also a full-size USB. On the right is a miniUSB connector, on the top is a single-section LED (flashlight). It is activated and deactivated by long pressing the "OK" button.

To remove the back cover, you must pry it off by the ledge located on the left end. Simcard "2" is on the left, "1" is on the right, the slot for installing a microSD memory card is on the top.

Keyboard

The navigation block consists of four buttons and a flat five-position joystick with an "OK" button in the center.

The joystick is designed to move through the menu up and down or left and right. It has a square shape, material - glossy plastic, slightly rises above the body. The "Ok" button is recessed into the body and is not very well felt with a finger. In general, the joystick is completely inconvenient: its edges are too close to the keyboard (bottom), to the screen (top) and buttons (on the sides). When you press, for example, "down" you touch the button "2".

To the left of the navigator is a double button. The lower one is responsible for entering the call list, the upper one - "Menu". On the right - "End call" and "Back" / "Names" (and other functions).

The keyboard consists of 12 absolutely flat plastic keys. They are separated from each other only horizontally: three buttons in a row. Pressing is firm, the stroke is minimal, the characteristic "click" sound is present. In general, the keyboard is quite comfortable and pleasant to the touch. However, I still like the raised buttons.

The symbols are embedded in translucent grooves. The numbers are twice as many letters, the font of the Latin and Cyrillic alphabet is the same in size. In order to unlock the screen, you must press the upper left button, then - "*". Sometimes you have to do this operation a couple of times. Symbol "#" - switching the phone to silent mode.

All buttons are backlit white. The brightness is average, but the symbols are visible during the day, and the brightness is sufficient at night.

Display

Phone Philips Xenium X130 has a screen diagonal of 2 inches, which is quite standard for most budget devices. The resolution is 176x220 pixels, the density is 140 pixels per inch. The matrix is made using TFT-LCD technology and is capable of displaying 262 thousand color shades.

The viewing angles are small: when you tilt towards yourself, the colors are inverted, from yourself - the contrast slightly drops. The brightness is not very high even for office lighting, since the screen fades completely in the light.

There are several items in the display settings:

  • Font size (medium or large)
  • Wallpaper. Either standard (3 in total) or custom (almost any resolution) are installed
  • Screensaver. Contains two sections: "settings" (state / standby) and "selection" (3 options)
  • Backlight setting. Brightness is adjustable on a scale of 5 values, backlight time - from 5 to 60 seconds
  • Time and date (on or off)
  • Display additional information (SIM card name, on-screen balance and information messages)
  • Greetings. Choice of status and greeting text.

Battery

The charge indicator is located on the top right of the screen and consists of four divisions.

The Philips X130 uses a 2000 mAh, 3.7V, 7.4 Wh Li-Ion battery. Model - AB2000AWMC. By the way, the exact same one is in Philips Xenium X525.

The manufacturer claims that the phone will work for 1920 hours in standby mode, and up to 16 hours in talk mode. During testing, the manufacturer's data was partially confirmed: in the talk mode the phone worked for about 15 hours, in the standby mode for about a month (it was not possible to verify for sure, since the phone received SMS and sometimes made calls), playing music for about 40 hours. The average battery life was about a week. The scheme of using the phone was as follows: 15-20 minutes of calls a day, about an hour of listening to the radio and music, sending 10 messages.

The kit included a weak charger: it charges the battery for more than three and a half hours. However, it takes even longer from USB.

Communication capabilities

The phone works only in 2G networks (900/1800/1900 MHz). To access the Internet, you can use GPRS (class 12). There is WAP version 2.0. Available Bluetooth version 2.1 with support for profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, FTP, GAVDP, HFP, HSP, IOPT, OPP. By connecting the X130 to a USB port, it can be used as a USB flash drive.

But the main feature of this model is the ability to charge various devices via a full-size USB connector. To do this, you connect, for example, a smartphone, and in the X130 menu, select the "Charger" section. Then the smartphone starts receiving power. The USB output voltage is 5V, and the maximum current is 480mA. An average X130 smartphone will charge for 3 to 4 hours.

It is useless to connect flash drives - the device does not detect them in any way :)

Memory and memory card

The amount of internal memory is about 45 kilobytes, but there is a slot for installing a microSD memory card, its maximum volume can be up to 32 GB. I used 16GB microSDHC - there were no problems with reading and writing.

The file manager is installed in the device. Works with internal memory and microSD. For each file available: copying, deleting, renaming, sending (via MMS or Bluetooth) and information (date, size and copyright). The folder can only be deleted or renamed.

The following information is displayed on the "Lock screen": indicators of networks, battery, operator names, date and time. To unlock, you must sequentially press the upper left button and "*". The "Home screen" is represented by the same elements as the "Lock screen" with the addition of two items: "Menu" and "Names". Pressing the "Up" button opens the music player, "Down" - the mode of charging devices from USB, to the right - the radio, to the left - messages. There is always a quick launch bar at the bottom of the screen:

The menu is represented by 9 icons in a 3x3 grid:

  • Organizer
  • Challenges
  • Multimedia
  • "З / У"
  • Posts
  • My files
  • Connections
  • Contacts
  • Settings

The labels are high-quality, they look colorful, there is no animation. To exit all menus, use the "Reset" button.

Applications

This phone model does not support JAVA platform. The following applications are installed by default:

The calendar... All days of the month, days of the week and date are displayed. You can add various types of reminders, select the beginning and end of the alarm, specify message topics, repetitions, locations and details

Stopwatch... Two options: regular stopwatch and nWay (multi-stopwatch up to 4 results)

Contacts... A list of contacts with numbers is displayed. The sim card number is indicated by the pictogram. The search is carried out only by first or last name. To create a new contact, select "New contact" at the very top of the list and specify the location - SIM1 / SIM2 or phone. If you assign to "Phone", then you can enter the first or last name, one number, a ringtone (only standard or by default). The phone has 200 cells (plus SIM). It is possible to copy / transfer subscriber numbers from the phone to sim cards and vice versa.

After dialing, the screen displays the time and options, and you can quickly go to the phone book, messages and so on. The top right button is responsible for turning on the speakerphone. There is a dictaphone, it can record a conversation, and both your voice and the interlocutor are saved.

For each section are available: a sim card icon, the name and number of the subscriber, as well as the call time, number of calls, duration.

A separate item ("Settings - Calls") contains:

  • Call waiting
  • Call forwarding
  • Call barring
  • Line switching (line 1 or 2)
  • Autodial
  • Time reminder
  • Answer mode (any key or answer with headset connected)

The screen displays the input language (Russian, English, Ukrainian and Romanian), the number of remaining characters, "Options" and "Exit". There is a T9 dictionary. In the settings for each of the sim cards, "Delivery report", "Reply path" and "Saving sent message" are selected.

Available in "Options":

  • Add recipient
  • Save as
  • Input Methods
  • Insert Template
  • Insert object
  • Insert number, name, bookmark
  • Text format (text style, alignment and new paragraph)

Multimedia

Music player... To start the player, go to the menu, select the item "Multimedia - Audio Player".

At the top, the artist's name and the name of the song are displayed, a little below - the timeline, volume and control system. Bottom right - "Back", left - "Options". "Down" - "Up" - volume, "Right" - "Left" - switching between tracks. Background playback is available. You can listen to music through a bluetooth headset. Supported audio formats: MP3, AMR, Midi, AAC.

Speaker volume is low. Since the kit includes a headset with one earphone, and the audio output connector is miniUSB, there is no point in describing the quality. The volume in the headset is average.

FM radio... Operates in the 85 - 108 MHz range. It is necessary to connect a headset, it acts as an antenna.

The frequency scale is displayed at the top, below - the volume and control: "down-up" - volume control, "right-left" - frequency setting.

In options:

  • Channels (total 30)
  • Manual input
  • Autosearch
  • Settings
  • Recording (AMR or WAV)
  • list of files

The volume is higher than in the player, the sensitivity is average. The radio can function in the background.

Video player... The maximum size should be no more than 320x240 pixels, the bitrate should be up to 1000 Kbps, and the format can be AVI, MP4 or 3GP.

Conclusion

There are no complaints about the connection quality. The vibration alert is average in strength, but it is quite noticeable in the pockets of clothes.

It seems to me that Philips managed to distinguish the X130 among similar models from other manufacturers: for 1600 - 1800 rubles you get not only a "mega-long-playing" phone, but also a portable charger that can help you out when the battery of any gadget is completely discharged.

pros:

  • High-capacity battery
  • Portable charger function
  • Working with two sim cards
  • Ergonomic design

Minuses:

  • Quiet speaker
  • Low display brightness
  • Lack of 3.5 mm jack

Specifications:

  • Class: telephone
  • Form factor: candy bar

Safe and confident driving. With this in mind, Philips has developed the X-treme Vision lamps. Extreme light output with quartz glass ensures comfort and safety in all weather conditions. The technologies used to create X-treme Vision allowed to achieve maximum light output with a standard power consumption of 55 watts (H1, H7) and 60/55 watts (H4), while Chinese manufacturers use HOD technology with increased power consumption, which can bring to failure of fuses, wiring and vehicle connectors.

Philips X-treme Vision + 130% car bulbs are the brightest halogen bulbs in the world!

X-treme Vision lineup

  • H1, H4, H7

Distinctive features in comparison with a conventional lamp:

  • The glow of the lamp is slightly whiter than the standard lamp (the difference is 400-500 Kelvin);
  • Longer light beam (up to 45 meters), 130% more light.

Flaws:

  • Low service life.

Testimonial from a specialist AvtoLampa.ru

“Most often, our clients are interested in whether these lamps are really brighter and better than standard analogs or are they just a marketing ploy. Yes, they are, they are bright and highly efficient lamps with the highest quality control, but be prepared to replace them in 6-8 months. "

X-treme Vision lamps do not melt reflectors and car wiring!

Continuing the halogen theme, let's compare the most expensive and popular models from Philips and Osram. Most car enthusiasts start by purchasing expensive halogen lamps, then LED bulbs, then xenon. Many of you have heard about Osram Night Breaker Unlimited H7 H4 H11 and Philips X-treme Vision 130 H7 H4 H11 halogen lamps (Osram Night Breaker Unlimited and Philips Extreme Vision 130). Less well known are Osram Night Breaker Plus and Philips Crystal Vision, Blue vision and Diamond.

Each stage requires financial investments, that is, you have to learn from your mistakes. Optimal to consult with a specialist and immediately put on good bulbs. It would have been much easier if the manufacturers hadn't overestimated the specifications. For halogen ones, they promise an increase in brightness up to 110%, for LED ones, they promise 6000-8000 lumens. In reality, the indicators are on average 5 times less than the promised ones.

Specifications

Usually, lamps are chosen based on reviews found on the Internet or on advice on forums and friends. They are recommended by the same illiterate people who do not understand automotive lighting technology and have also read a lot of reviews.

The data in the table is from the official websites of Osram and Philips.

Plinth table H7.

The service life of high-brightness bulbs is 2-4 times lower than that of standard bulbs. To obtain a whiter light, the spiral is overheated, the load increases. In this case, the number of lumens remains the same.

Plinth tableH4.

On the front of each package, they proudly write in large letters and numbers:

  1. brightness is higher up to 110%;
  2. lighting range +40 meters;
  3. long service life;
  4. xenon effect, xenon effect.

These values have nothing to do with technical characteristics. This is marketing, the main thing is to promise more, all the same 99% of buyers will not measure anything and they do not have equipment. Under consumer protection law, this information is misleading you because it is incorrect.

On the packaging of Philips, Osram, Koito, they do not write the most important indicator that would cross out all advertising inscriptions, this is the luminous flux. It is the main parameter that characterizes the brightness of the lamp and refers to the technical parameters.

Koito, even in the technical documentation, does not indicate the light flux. They went even further, their light flux is indicated in Kelvin, which indicates the color temperature. I was a little crazy when I saw the inscriptions in the official catalog of Koito halogens "The brightness of the glow is 5800 Kelvin." It looks like the methods of Chinese advertising, the main thing is that the numbers are larger, and the buyer will then come up with what they refer to.

The lineup

The scale of vparivaniya halogen lamps for cars is very large, promises are simply immeasurable.

Lineup Philips:

  • Philips Xtreme Vision, Philips Extreme Vision 130;
  • Vision Plus;
  • Crystal;
  • Diamond;
  • White Blue;
  • Long Live Eco;
  • Philips Racing 150

Models from Osram:

  • Silverstar;
  • Cool Blue Intense;
  • Cool Blue Hyper;
  • Night Breaker Plus, Osram Night Breaker Plus 110;
  • Ultra Life;
  • Lazer;
  • Original Line;
  • Offroad Super Bright;

How we are deceived

Halogen IPF H11, H4, H7

All of these fabulous numbers on the front of the packaging help explain the high price tag of halogen bulbs. The beautiful packaging and blue stripes on the flask also contribute to this.

Manufacturers promise a brightness of + 100%, but in reality it is no different from the standard. Of course, they have some improvements, but they give an improvement of 20-25%, and the price tag increases by 700%. If the real parameters were specified, then you would not pay 7 times more for improvements by 20%. But for an indicator that is 100% higher, it is worth the money.

They also often write power 85W, 90W, 100W, although in reality they consume as standard autolamps. This is another way to confuse the buyer and force them to fork out. In the face of such a deception, it is difficult to make the right choice, who lied the most and sold. This is especially the case with Koito, which writes 100W, such as super powerful, super bright.

Cost of auto lamp baseH7

If the light flux of Osram Night Breaker H7 H4 and Philips X-treme Vision H4 H7 is the same, then what makes it shine better and further? Manufacturers shift the coil in the halogen lamp to make the light go higher. At the same time, they violate the standards in accordance with GOST. If it shines higher, then the blinding of oncoming people increases. To increase the illumination in the area of the cut-off line (STB), reduce the illumination near the car.

Each halogen headlamp has a downward slope indicated on it, usually 1% - 1.5%. To make it shine further, you need to change this angle, make it smaller. This is simple geometry. So I can just turn the headlights up and get the same effect as Osram Night Breaker Unlimited and Philips Extreme Vision 130. And I don't need to buy expensive halogens.

Defective trash

Therefore, headlight adjustment is required every time you change the halogen to a new one. If the replacement is exactly the same, then there is no need to adjust. Customization is required when changing a brand or lineup. This is especially required by Chinese halogen bulbs. They have a very low quality, they shine at random, too up or down, maybe to the side. They do not work even in a halogen lens, they cannot be exploited, the road cannot be seen with them. These are the brands ClearLight, SkyWay, Torso, Sho-me, Dialuch, Mayak, which sell low-quality Chinese consumer goods.

Chinese-made Koreans, for example MTF, also mow, there are also a lot of defects that cannot be placed in the near and far.

How is it tested according to GOST

..

To compare different light sources, there is GOST R 41.112-2005, which regulates the measurement conditions. The light spot for each source is different, for example xenon and LED, so specific and most important spots are used. They were visually depicted in the photo of the road from the driver's seat.

Description:

  1. B50L - the point responsible for dazzling the driver;
  2. 75R - shoulder after 75 meters;
  3. 50R - shoulder after 50m.
  4. the number in the name of the point indicates the distance to it in meters, the letter is responsible for the position.

Test results

Halogen lamps have been repeatedly tested in Russia and abroad, so I will give the results of measurements from various laboratories and magazines.

Good tests in accordance with GOST are published by the Avtodela magazine, they are tested correctly.

Comparison

After installing the new Osram Night Brecker and Philips Extreme, motorists shine their headlights in the bushes, on the road, on the wall. They do completely useless actions, they also like to take pictures of a burning halogen, like cool. It is necessary to direct the headlights to the diagram for halogen bulbs, on which a check mark and markings are drawn.

The eye hardly distinguishes the level of illumination of different areas. This is especially difficult at different color temperatures, warm and neutral white. Therefore, you cannot do without instruments, a light meter or another photo sensor.

And of course you will be shown illustrations and photos in which everything looks beautiful and clear. But you will never be shown test results in accordance with GOST, so as not to reveal the truth.

I noticed such a feature that in the comparison photographs of a lamp of increased brightness, there is often another car in front. Which visually lengthens the area of illumination of the road to its near or far.

Outcomes

As you can see, after the dollar appreciated, the prices for Osram Night Breaker Unlimited and Philips Extreme Vision became too high. The kit costs 2500 - 3000 rubles, but they do not work for long, they do not give strong improvements. Here it is worth considering, an LED lamp with an imitation of an incandescent filament costs from 4000 to 6000 rubles, it will last from 5.000 to 15.000 hours. The illumination will be higher, the illumination will be neutral white. Just don't confuse LED life with light bulb life, shops love to do this.

Philips LED lamps are available for H4, H11, H7 sockets and are not certified in Russia for 2016. I'll tell you about them in the next article, because the Phillips are trying to cheat there too.

Someone will look in the direction of xenon, but it requires the installation of lenses, alteration of headlights, purchase of xenon bulbs and an ignition unit. The service life of automobile xenon lenses is from 3 to 5 years, then they fade and require a complete replacement. When selling a car, he will remain in the close.

Content:

Functionally, the device is relatively simple, although not without original additions like a full-fledged USB port that can charge other devices! Other features worth mentioning are two SIM card slots, a memory card compartment, a 2-inch color screen, and a truly gigantic 2000 mAh battery that few can boast of.

Appearance

In this model, Philips decided to move away from brutality, replacing the square-rectangular shape with something more rounded. The monoblock received smooth contours of the front surface, which flow into the back, where there are no strict lines either.

The dimensions of the phone's body are 113x48x17.25 mm, weight is 102 g. For a simple state employee, the phone is plump, somewhat thick, and, moreover, heavy. Usually, such solutions are easier, but in this case the mass is justified by a high-capacity battery, which looks like a logical payment for a useful addition.

Everything is perfectly assembled, a well-made device pleases with a monolithic fit of the body parts.

The front bezel stands out in silver, where there is a wide black bezel that runs around the screen. At the top there is a T-shaped notch for the earpiece.

There is a block of control buttons under the display. It consists of a pair of combined soft keys and call acceptance and end buttons. The latter turns the phone on and off. In the middle is a large square four-way button.

Pressing the center of the button, slightly recessed down, serves as confirmation of the action. The round button takes up a lot of space, so when you press the joystick when trying to perform an action in one of the four directions, you have to hit its edge so that there are no erroneous actuations.

The phone has 4 rows of buttons, 3 buttons each. Each row is isolated, the keys on it are combined into one line. The stroke is not very long, but the pressing is clear, error-free.

The designations are in dark gray and are readable on a light background. But when the backlight is triggered, the signs become difficult to see. Everything is readable in the dark, but it can be problematic outdoors or indoors with artificial lighting.

There is a flashlight on the top.

There are no buttons on the sides, there is only a miniUSB port.

There is a USB connector at the bottom so that you can use it to recharge other devices.

The back is made entirely of matte plastic, it does not scratch and is distinguished by being able to withstand rough handling.
You can remove the panel by prying off the side. There is a battery inside. The battery covers a pair of adjacent SIM card slots. There is also a place for a microSD card.

Screen

The phone uses a TFT-display with a diagonal of 2 inches and a resolution of 176x220 pixels. It displays 262K colors. As you can see, the front part is slightly curved, so on the street under the sun everything shimmers and glares very much.

The vertical viewing angles are unimportant, while the horizontal the situation is much better. Everything fades in the sun, there is no mirror backing. The menu adjusts the brightness, as well as the backlight operating time.

For a budget device, the screen is good, the phone costs a little and there is no point in wanting something more. Although, for sure, many buyers would prefer to see a monochrome display here.

Menu

In standby mode, a variety of useful service information is displayed on the desktop. On the top line there is an indicator of the reception of a SIM card signal, an icon of a memory card inserted into the phone, an active profile. The symbols of unread messages and missed calls also appear there, the time and battery charge level are shown. The names of SIM cards and operators, date and day of the week, as well as a large clock are displayed. You can choose a background image from standard ones or from a memory card.

Menu icons have a simple and neat look, the selected item is highlighted against the background of the rest by a cursor in the form of four corners. There are no themes here. Navigation using the keyboard works. The menu is presented in the form of 3x4 icons, the same type and layout of buttons. It turns out that the button in the upper left corner (this is "1") calls the organizer, which is located in the same place on the screen. "2" means calls, etc. The font size is changed, the background wallpaper is set, as well as the image for the lock screen. There is also a timer to automatically turn off the phone and turn on at a specified time.

If desired, the unnecessary are deleted or the order of their display is changed. Actions for deflection of the joystick in all four directions are set, and there are many functions to choose from.

Phone book

Up to 200 telephone numbers are stored in the memory. Besides, the memory of the SIM-card is also available. A single list displays numbers in the phone memory and SIM-card, but they are also displayed separately. Accordingly, there are 4 tabs with numbers in the phone.

Each subscriber is assigned a name (the name and surname are combined into one field, it is limited to 28 characters), a melody, and a mobile phone number. Nothing else can be specified, no other optional fields are provided.

The search is carried out by the initial letters of the contact (first or last name). A letter is displayed on the screen when scrolling through the list, which allows you to orient yourself in the general list. Fast dialing works (up to 8 contacts are assigned). User groups are created. The data is copied from the phone memory to the SIM-cards and vice versa.

Call log

Call history is displayed on several tabs, there are several of them: missed, received, dialed, and a general list that displays all types of calls. Additionally, the name (if not recorded in the phone book, then the number), date and time of the call, the number of calls to the subscriber are shown. To the left of the phone number, an icon-digit indicates the number of the SIM card to which the call was received.

When making a call, actions are performed by default from the 1st SIM card. If you need to call from the second, then you need to go to the options menu when dialing a number and select another card there. During a conversation, you can record the dialogue using the built-in voice recorder. There is also an audible signal notifying the duration of the call, which will help thrifty owners.

Working with SIM-cards is implemented as follows. The display shows information about both cards: reception level, operator name. The name of the SIM card is set, but it is not shown on the display. The numbers "1" and "2" indicate the priority of the cards. In the settings menu, not only the name of the SIM card is changed, but also their priority is manually selected (this is important, since by default all calls come from the 1st card). If you are talking on the phone, and at the same time someone calls the second SIM-card, the phone will not react to this in any way.

Posts

The model is quite simple, so you can only send and receive text messages, the phone does not work with MMS. Several folders are offered depending on the type of data: inbox, sending and others. There is a set of templates for different occasions. The phone works quickly, so it is convenient to type messages here, it does not slow down, as is sometimes the case with budget models. When sending, you can choose from which of the SIM-cards the SMS will be sent.

Player

The phone supports MP3 and Midi audio formats. The display shows the name of the track, playing time, song number, total number of songs. The player is minimized, it will play in the background, showing the name of the song. The covers registered in the file tags were not displayed correctly on the screen. The phone finds tracks, displays them in a single list. To navigate between tracks, press the joystick left or right, to adjust the volume - up and down. The sound quality with the bundled headphones is not outstanding, and it's hard to want anything more from a phone of this class.

Radio

The built-in radio has RDS support and memory for 9 stations. Station addresses are entered manually, and the automatic wave search mode also comes to the rescue. The radio is minimized, it can work in the background. Also, the receiver can record transmissions.

File Manager

The built-in file browser can transfer files from folders: copy, rename and delete them. There is practically no own memory in the phone, so a memory card will be necessary if you want to listen to music. I tried 2GB and 4GB cards and the device worked fine with them. The maximum supported volume, declared by the manufacturer, is 8 GB.

Organizer

The calendar shows the current month by highlighting weekends in red. The blue cursor marks today's date. You can create a task by specifying its name and the time of the event. A gray font is provided for it, the day of the week will be marked with it.

The phone has five alarm clocks. The days on which they will work are set, as well as an alarm from the number of melodies preinstalled in the phone.

There is a calculator, stopwatch. The phone has a flashlight. It is turned on and off with a single push of a button in the menu.

Profiles

Profiles are six different preset and customizable phone settings. They change the ringtone volume, ringtone and message melody, the type of signal (ringtone, vibration, vibration and ringtone, vibration, then ringtone), the keyboard sound is turned on. Sound notification is configured for each of the SIM-cards, you can use your own ringtone.

The settings are highlighted in a separate menu item. The phone language, time and date are set. Includes a timer to automatically turn off the device, as well as a time to auto-lock the keyboard. A practically useless WAP browser is highlighted separately.

Connections

The phone operates in the frequencies GSM 900, 1800, 1900. The phone is connected to a PC to copy data via miniUSB or via Bluetooth 2.1.

Battery

Philips Xenium X130 comes with a 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery. The manufacturer claims up to 1920 hours of standby time and up to 16 hours of talk time. That is, the device can hold 80 days or almost 3 months without recharging! During testing, we failed to test the phone's phenomenal survivability, but I think that the numbers can really turn out to be very impressive.

I really liked the original feature of the phone. It is equipped with a USB port that allows the Philips Xenium X130 to be used as a charger. To do this, the corresponding setting in the menu is activated, the cable is connected and the process begins. This option will allow you to charge a suddenly sat down smartphone or player, very convenient.

Impressions

The phone has one earpiece, it is both a bell and a speaker at the same time. The melody is not loud, you may not notice it on the street. But it is convenient to talk, there is a margin of sound. Vibration is weak.

Philips Xenium X130 is sold at a price of 1900 rubles. This is a budget model that is very interesting for its autonomy. A small phone with a very large battery would be a great addition to a smartphone, given its unique feature that allows the device to become an energy donor. On the one hand, the device can be regarded exclusively as a simple device for making calls. 2 SIM cards, minimal phone book capabilities and basic additional options. At the same time, it can be considered a large battery that can call.

Nowadays, external batteries are popular, which people buy in addition to charge their smartphones, tablets or players. Such a 2000 mAh battery will cost an average of 1,500 rubles. By paying only 400 rubles, you can get a call part and an additional means of communication. So I would advise the owners of powerful, but short-lived gadgets to take a closer look at this model. An excellent addition to the main device as a backup power source that can ring at the same time.
