Fast navigation through the article

We are convinced that only a home-made one can be better than a purchased dollhouse. After all, it is very interesting to "build" and arrange it to your liking for both parents and children. Moreover, everyone can make a house for dolls with their own hands; this will require only a few tools, the simplest materials and creative inspiration.

Master class 1. How to build a house in half an hour from a cardboard box

A cardboard dollhouse is good because it is made quickly and from scrap materials. It can be decorated very nicely and periodically completed - add new rooms, floors and entire buildings.

Materials and tools:

  1. A large cardboard box that will hold one to three floors for dolls 25-30 cm tall (Barbie, Monster High, Bratz, Winx, etc.).
  2. Scissors and cutter.
  3. Scotch tape in a contrasting color (not paintable) or masking tape (if you want to paint the house later). This workshop uses bright green tape and does not paint the house itself.
  4. White paint.
  5. Decorating materials (if desired): wallpaper scraps, wrapping paper, paint, brushes, etc.

Step 1. First, cut the box in half and cut the top flaps off both halves.

Step 2. The resulting pieces of cardboard are put into action: we cut out the triangular pediment of the roof from one part, and in the other we make a small hole - this will be the second floor with access to the stairs. Next, we glue the parts into place using tape and / or glue.

Step 3. From the unnecessary part of the box, cut out the slopes for the roof and one more floor for the attic, and then glue the parts to the tape. Do not forget to cut a hole for the stairs in the attic.

Step 4. Now we cut out the windows and the entrance door on the first floor with a clerical knife, having previously drawn the markings. Then we cut out the stairs from the remains of the cardboard and glue them to the floors.

Step 5. Hooray! The frame of the house is ready, now you can start "finishing". In this workshop, everything from the roof tiles to the stair treads were drawn with white marker.

As soon as the "repair" in the house is over, you can start creating furniture.

You can come up with your own home design - paint the house and the roof outside, paint window frames, wallpaper the walls of fabric or scrapbooking paper, and finish the floor with linoleum or laminate. In the next selection of photos, you can get ideas for decorating a dollhouse miniature of a house and cardboard furniture.

And here is an example of a cardboard house for dolls, upholstered with fabric, or rather scraps of old dresses and pillowcases.

And finally, we suggest watching a video review of the Monster High dollhouse for dolls, made by hand from several large boxes.

Master class 2. How to make a doll house from a bookshelf or rack

Want to build a sturdier house without fiddling with blueprints and a jigsaw? Then use a small shelving unit or, say, an old bookcase as a base. With the simplest steps you can turn an ordinary piece of furniture into a wonderful doll house.

  • A cabinet with a depth (25-30 cm), which has a back wall, is best suited for "construction". So, for example, in this master class, Billy's rack from Ikea is used with a depth of 30 cm and a height of 106 cm (pictured on the right). In such a house, you can equip three floors, quite suitable for a 25-centimeter Barbie or Monster High. The price of Billy's shelf is 2000 rubles.

Materials and tools for reworking the frame:

  1. Locker, chest of drawers or shelving;
  2. Plywood, MDF or boards 25 mm thick, 30 cm wide and at least 120 cm long (these are dimensions for Billy's wardrobe, but you can take boards of a smaller or greater length / width depending on the size of your cabinet);
  3. Hardboard sheet, PVC or MDF wall panel (for the manufacture / replacement of the back wall and the manufacture of partitions in the rooms);
  4. Bar 5x5x20cm (the pipe will be made from it);
  5. Several small photo frames that will become window frames;
  6. Decorative molding of small width (polyurethane can be used);
  7. Screws and screwdriver;
  8. Wood glue or liquid nails;
  9. Drill and drill.

Decorating materials:

  1. Wood putty (optional, but desirable for masking fasteners and joints);
  2. Primer (optional, but desirable for better paint retention);
  3. Acrylic paints in desired colors;
  4. Masking tape;
  5. Brushes and / or spray gun;
  6. Scissors;
  7. Materials for lining the walls of rooms (scrapbooking paper is best suited);
  8. Popsicle sticks to create a lattice fence;
  9. Roof tile material.

Step 1. Painting the rack

This step is optional if you are satisfied with the color of the selected shelf or cabinet. For example, white or plain colored furniture will look great even without painting.

  • If the cabinet is old or looks too "furniture", then it definitely needs to be repainted. To do this, we proceed according to the following scheme: sanding and sanding - primer (before drying) - paint layer (before drying) - second paint layer (before drying) - matt varnish layer.

In this master class, the dollhouse will not only be painted, but also decorated with brickwork. If you like this decor idea, then prepare the following accessories:

  • Cellulose sponge;
  • Gray paint;
  • Acrylic paint (our instructions use a mixture of two paints - red brick and chocolate).

So, first, paint the entire rack with gray paint. As soon as the last coat of paint is dry, start creating the brickwork. To do this, cut out a rectangle of about 3.5 × 8 cm from the sponge, which will become a template for painting.

Pour the paint into the container, soak the sponge in it and, starting from the bottom of the cabinet, print the bricks - first one row, then the second row in a checkerboard pattern. Do not forget to maintain a distance of about 5 mm between the bricks. In this way, paint about 1/3 of the house.

Step 2. Making windows

This step is also optional, but if you want to create a realistic miniature of the house, it's best not to skip it. In order to cut out the windows, you first need to measure the window "frames" (if any) and draw the markings on the walls of the cabinet from the outside.

As soon as the markings of all the windows are ready, you can start cutting. To do this, drill holes in the corners of the markings inside the border with a drill to create the starting point for the jigsaw blade. To make the edges of the windows look neater from the inside, you need to glue masking tape on the inside of the cabinet along the outline of the marking. In the photo below you can see the process of work.

To give the windows a more finished look, plaster and paint the "window niches", remove the tapes and glue the frames outside the house.

Step 3. Installation and decoration of the roof

In order to make a roof, you need to cut 2 boards 30 cm wide, but of different lengths - 61 cm and 59 cm from plywood (or other lumber).

Now we join the end of the shorter board at a right angle to the edge of the 61-centimeter board and drill the holes again, but only at the end of the short board, passing the drill through the three holes of the edge of the long board made earlier. This stage is clearly shown in the following photo.

We glue the two boards together, then fix them with screws. If desired, the joint can be sealed with putty.

Next, we proceed to finishing the roof. It can be either painted in 2 layers, or pasted over with “tiles” made from available materials, for example, from cardboard or cork sheets. And finally, on the ends on the front side of the roof, we glue 2 parts of the molding.

Step 4. Creation and installation of the pipe, installation of the roof

Now is the time to turn a 5x5x20 cm block of wood into a chimney. To do this, simply saw off one of its corners (45 degrees) and paint according to the principle described in Step # 1. When the paint is dry, we fix the chimney to the roof with screws.

Well, that's all, the roof is ready, it remains only to screw it to the cabinet in the inner corners, as shown in the photo.

Step 5. Replacing or installing the back wall

The next step involves equipping the rack with a wall, if it is not there, replacing the existing wall with a nicer one (for example, for a white lining), or simply installing the missing wall for the attic floor. We perform the following actions: we take the necessary measurements, cut out a blank from the hardboard / wall panel and fasten it on the back side with nails / screws / glue.

Step 6. Installing partitions to create rooms

Cut out interior partitions from any material (hardboard, wood, MDF, plywood), then cut doorways into them and install with glue or screws. Woo-ala! The dollhouse has been built, you can start the most exciting part of the work - decorating and filling the rooms with furniture.

If you supplement the rack with wheels, the house will turn out to be mobile

And here is an example of equipping a dollhouse with lighting, which can not only create coziness in it, but also play the role of a night light.

Master class 3. How to make a dollhouse out of plywood

Making a dollhouse out of plywood or wood is somewhat more difficult, but it will look sturdier and last so long that it can even be inherited in the future. To create such a house, you do not need to have special skills. It is enough to have the tools, clearly follow the drawing and the following video instruction, from which you will learn how to make a dollhouse with your own hands for 25-centimeter Barbie and other dolls 25-26 cm tall.

Who among us in childhood did not build huts from furniture and blankets at home or similar buildings from scrap materials on the street? How fun, it was interesting to build such a structure, and then hide in your home and feel like a real master. You can remember your childhood a little and give these happy moments to your own child. Building a children's house with your own hands is not such a difficult task. And if we manage to involve the child in the erection, then joint work will rally and strengthen mutual understanding.

Small house for a child

On sale now it is easy to find a huge variety of children's toys. This number includes all kinds of structures from tents to houses. The finished version only needs to be purchased and installed.

Self-erection will require some skills, an indefinite amount of time, imagination. But this option will save a lot of money, and will also give you multiple satisfaction with the result.

Small children's house

To build a playhouse with your own hands is to put in your heartfelt warmth. The structure is being erected "for themselves", which means that all the nuances, requirements, wishes will be taken into account.

Collecting the “shelter” with your own hands together with your child will be doubly useful. So the baby will join work, acquire the necessary skills, invaluable knowledge and experience. Joint actions will help the educational process, give unforgettable moments of communication with each other.

What you can build with your own hands

With your own hands, the easiest way is to build a children's house from fabric, cardboard, plastic. This design will be less reliable, but it is suitable for the smallest. Installing such an option is acceptable outdoors, indoors. A children's house of this type is usually easy to disassemble. The ability to quickly transform ensures safety from weather conditions. This design does not take up much space, so it can be easily used even in a city apartment.

Assembling the orphanage

A more solid play dwelling can be made from wood. The following types of buildings are possible:

  • panel board;
  • frame;
  • log.

Such a do-it-yourself children's house will take much more time to build, it will cost more. If the structure is made of sufficient size, glazed, provided with a real door, then the children's house can be used not only for games, but also as a guest summer option.

An example of a children's house

Construction of a hut made of fabric

The main advantages of the design:

  • elementary construction;
  • low cost;
  • ease of transportation.

Children's house for a child

A hut made of matter necessarily has a frame. The basis can be wooden beams, aluminum or plastic supports. Elements of old furniture are often used for this. The children's house made of textiles can be fixed on a rope base. Attach one of the sides to a tree or building.

Having decided on the frame, they begin to choose the main coating. The fabric is used depending on the purpose of the structure. If this is a home playhouse, it is better to use lightweight breathable fabrics. Linen or cotton will be a great solution. For a street model, it is better to choose a denser one, possibly resistant to moisture. If an awning or tarpaulin is used, it is necessary to provide for the possibility of ventilation.

Big children's house

The fabric can be picked up right away with a funny pattern, or you can give the kid the opportunity to participate in creating their own decor. The children's house can contain a thematic coloring or be designed according to the taste of the young owner.

For the street version, it is necessary to provide, in addition to the frame, the presence of a base. Wood flooring is the best solution. The platform can be made of plastic, but it is less environmentally friendly and will not allow the structure to "breathe".

Children's house scheme

For kids, you can make a do-it-yourself playhouse from foam rubber sheathed with fabric. In this case, large window and door openings should be left so that the baby is not hot and the air can circulate freely. Structures can be joined with Velcro or zip fasteners. This option involves not only using a piece of fabric, but cutting, sewing. You will first need to make a drawing, calculate the proportions. This is not difficult at all, since the assembly principle is simple, does not require special skill.

Children's house with a slide

Indian wigwam is the simplest and most interesting thematic construction option. Such a children's house will not leave indifferent any child. It is elementary to build it, even just by examining the photo in detail. The lightness, mobility of such a hut allows you to easily transfer the structure as needed. When the playhouse loses its relevance, it is extremely easy to dismantle it, and use the materials for other purposes.

Scheme for assembling a children's house

Making a cardboard house

A cardboard children's house, along with a cloth one, is the simplest to design. You can assemble the structure from separate sheets, but in this case you will need to complete a drawing, calculations, transfer parts according to dimensions on cardboard, cut out, connect.

Preparation, assembly of parts is done very carefully. It is necessary to exclude the formation of unnecessary creases, incorrect cuts. You can connect the elements using grooves, glue, tape, furniture stapler.

DIY children's house frame

The easiest way to make a children's house out of cardboard is to make it out of a finished box. Any dense packaging from large household appliances is taken as a base. Carry out the necessary slots - windows, doors. Next, they complete the desired decor and the playhouse is ready.

A cardboard children's house is afraid of moisture, so it will have to be operated exclusively indoors or on a fine summer day outside. To prevent the material from absorbing moisture from the ground, it must be installed in the open air on the base. The lightness of the cardboard will allow you to easily rearrange the box.

Scheme for a children's house

Games in such a home should be calm, otherwise the structure will simply be damaged and the playhouse will very quickly become unusable. The "apartment" out of the box will be an excellent temporary haven for a small child, since the construction is not capital and has small dimensions.

The design of a cardboard children's house is very easy to select according to need. It is easy to create a wigwam, a spaceship or a princess castle from such material. It is only necessary to clearly design the future model, to correctly connect the elements. And for this, it is better to complete the drawings in advance, and cut them according to them.

Fast and simple in execution is a panel boarding house. The technology is extremely simple.

  1. They carry out a drawing diagram of the future design, calculate the dimensions, options for fasteners, openings.
  2. Based on the calculations, each surface is collected separately: walls, floor, roof. The material of execution can be boards, finished panels. You can use the elements of old furniture, the remnants of materials from construction.
  3. All finished surfaces are connected using a screwdriver into a common structure.
  4. The frame of the house can be installed on piles, a kind of foundation (elevation on the beams), drainage fill (crushed stone on sand). It is not necessary to create a capital foundation for such a building.
  5. The house, if desired, is additionally sheathed with plywood or clapboard.
  6. The finished structure can be equipped for convenience with a ladder, a porch, and other elements.

This construction option is simple and convenient. A good summer playhouse can be assembled in just a few hours. Such work does not require special skill, knowledge of construction. The result will please the little inhabitant for more than 1 year.

Frame children's house

This option is more difficult to perform, more skills will be required, a partner is desirable. The erection is similar to the manufacture of a standard frame structure, perhaps with some simplification. Construction consists of the following stages.

Children's house made of solid wood
  1. Laying the foundation. It is necessary to remove the soil, lay a brick around the perimeter of the future building, or fill in the corners, and on top a bundle of timber. Do not overdo it too much - the house is not capital, the laying of a real foundation is not required.
  2. Floor covering. This stage should be passed according to all the rules: lay logs, and boards or plywood are nailed onto them. The floor in the playhouse for children is supposed to be used intensively, so you should worry about reliability and safety.
  3. Frame, wall devices. In the corner parts of the foundation and where openings are made, bars are placed in the ground as supports for future walls. In order for the structure to have good strength, fastening with metal corners is carried out. Finally, the resulting base is sheathed with lumber. Additionally, you can make insulation.
  4. Roof installation. At the corners, pediments are knocked down - triangles from a bar. If necessary, several more are installed between them. It turns out a kind of frame, which must be covered with boards. Top - roofing material.
  5. Installation of windows, doors. If you have the necessary skills, you can make the structures yourself. It is better to use safe glass, or cover it with a special film.
  6. The final stage is decoration.

The frame model is more durable, lasts much longer, and will delight children and adults.

Game house decoration

The most enjoyable stage of the work is decoration. When the structure is erected, and the house is in a hurry to receive the inhabitants, it is worth preparing it for moving in. Exterior design is best done in accordance with the general style of the surrounding space. It is desirable to organically fit the children's house into the landscape design. It can be a great addition to existing furnishings. At the same time, do not forget that the building must be attractive to the child, beckon the little mischief to play in it.

Wooden children's house

Children love original performances. A princess's castle, a hobbit's dwelling, a pirate ship are just a few ideas for implementation. It is good if the dwelling can be supplemented with a ladder, slide, sports equipment.

The interior decoration is carried out taking into account the wishes of the owner. The children's house should be safe, so all kinds of soft elements will come in handy. Juicy colors in the design will be the main task.

Children's house in the yard

Building a children's house with your own hands in a city apartment or in the country is not such a difficult task, but you will get a lot of pleasure, joy, enthusiastic emotions. The child will be able to use such a building until he grows up, and the impressions of the games will remain with him until old age.

When there are dolls in the house, but they have no place to live, the child, sooner or later, will ask his mother a question: why? And be sure, he will find a lot of arguments in favor of the problem that needs to be fixed. There will be two solutions: either to buy this housing, or to make a dollhouse with your own hands. Buying, of course, is easier - in toy stores you can find a large model of a house made of chipboard, assemble it at home in stages and paint it. But everyone wants everything for the child to be exclusive. It remains only to figure out how to build this exclusive house with your own hands from plywood, cardboard, paper or other material.

A do-it-yourself dollhouse will delight the child and give mom a reason to be proud

First of all, you need to decide on a list of tools and materials that will be involved in the manufacturing process. The house, albeit a dollhouse, is housing. We will treat the process with respect and start a master class.

So, you should have at hand:

  1. Plywood (7 millimeters).
  2. Electric jigsaw.
  3. Mounting tape.
  4. Glue.
  5. Corrugated cardboard (roof).
  6. Self-adhesive film for design research (floor).
  7. Beautiful wallpaper, which will be pasted over the walls.
  8. Several pencils (simple) ruler, tape measure.

After the working kit is assembled, you can start the "construction".

  1. Initially, plywood is cut into sheets according to the dimensions indicated in the diagrams presented in the master class.
  2. Taking your time, carefully you need to consistently cut out windows, openings for doors.
  3. The end parts of the cut parts must be glued with glue and the structure must be mounted exactly as indicated in the diagram.
  4. You can play it safe by nailing those details that can be nailed with small studs. From this, the house will be better fixed and acquire reliability and greater stability.
  5. The next step is the manufacture of the roof. After it is laid, corrugated cardboard should be glued to it.
  6. Only design work remains: you need to decorate the walls with wallpaper, and the floors - with a beautiful tape - with self-adhesive.
  7. Rooms are furnished with furniture and all sorts of useful gizmos. Don't forget the TV - dolls love to watch TV shows too.
  8. What follows is the main action: housewarming the child's little friends into their own toy house.

This simple master class clearly showed that nothing is impossible when there is a desire to bring joy to the child in order to see his satisfied smile.

How to make a house for dolls (video)

How to make a dollhouse out of cardboard: a diagram and description of the process

Cardboard is a versatile material. It seems to be designed so that people do not spend money on expensive ready-made things, but can make something with their own hands. The same is the case with the toy house. All the ideas for making it will not fit in a huge book, but what is easy and quick to do is worth considering below. Involve your girls so that they feel the power of the moment - after all, they take part in the fate of their dolls. This will instill in them a sense of responsibility.

In order to create such a small miracle for a child, you will need the following:

  • durable cardboard (any size boxes, single sheets);
  • paints, pencils;
  • colored applique paper, some trimming of ribbons, something that will never be used, any other decorative elements;
  • glue gun;
  • scotch tape, preferably construction tape.

Cardboard is a versatile material

Next, you need to decide on the size of the doll's dwelling, with a roof (it will be removable or stationary), how many rooms there will be (they will be isolated or adjacent). From the number of rooms and floors, and you need to build on.

Additionally, you can build a staircase between floors.

Each room is either pasted over with wallpaper (a piece of old wallpaper can always be found in the house), or give free rein to the child's imagination - let him decorate the walls with paints or pencils the way he wants to see the world of his dolls. It remains to add any decoration elements, make cribs (even from matchboxes). The main thing is to see that the house is suitable for occupation and a comfortable existence in it.

DIY dollhouse out of the box: a master class for everyone

Of course, there are as many options for toy homes as there are people who want to build them. The proposed model of doll housing made of boxes is interesting, first of all, for its simplicity and the fact that it can be easily folded for transportation or any movement. No complex drawings required for manufacturing.

You will need the following:

  • large cardboard box;
  • large scissors;
  • Scotch;
  • interior decoration elements

No complex drawings required for manufacturing

  1. Initially, you need to cut off the top of the box (the diagram clearly shows all the steps). All cut off parts do not need to be thrown away - let them lie on the sidelines for now. Next, the end parts (seams) of the box must be glued with strong tape.
  2. Turn the box over. Glue its elements where the yellow arrow is indicated on the diagram. From what is cut and set aside, you need to make a roof. Connect the roof joints with adhesive tape following the yellow arrows. The roof is ready. You need to attach it to the sides - the walls.
  3. Cut the cardboard along the yellow dotted lines in the diagram. Connect as the arrows in the diagram show.
  4. Remains interior decoration. It all depends on the preference of the girls. To begin with, you can simply lay down a blanket, put a pillow and you can celebrate the housewarming of your Barbies.

How to make a room for a doll - forward fantasy!

First, decide what should be in the room.... The essentials are enough. Then the child will figure it out himself and finish everything the way he wants.

  1. Bed and bedding. ... The simplest option is several matchboxes connected to each other and pasted over with cloth. It remains to sew a small pillow and put a small piece of thick fabric on top - the blanket is ready.
  2. A TV is easy to make from a small box or from the same matchboxes, which are versatile materials. Glue the box with plain application paper, and stick a picture from a magazine or a sticker of a suitable size on the front part.
  3. A coffee table made of thick paper in the room will find its place. You can stick a few pieces of paper on it - these will be magazines and newspapers.
  4. Chair, armchair. It is also good to make them from matchboxes covered with fabric. The legs can be made round by gluing unnecessary beads from below, for example.

Craft - a house with your own hands - will delight any child. It will take just a couple of days to work, and as a material you can use plywood, OSB, pallets or ordinary boards. Detailed step-by-step instructions and drawings will help even a person far from construction to understand the process.

A developmental house can be made of a wide variety of materials, and it is better to make the final choice yourself, having studied the advantages and disadvantages of each of them.

The most commonly used budget options:

  • plywood

You can also build a house from OSB, wooden boards or chipboard.

Plywood is the best choice because:

  • it is durable, and after processing with special impregnations, it is able to withstand adverse environmental influences (precipitation, temperature changes, insects)
  • available - a house made of plywood with your own hands will cost less than one made of many other materials
  • looks aesthetically pleasing
  • has a low thermal conductivity, thanks to which the child will be warm and comfortable in the garden house

In addition, working with plywood is simple: it can be sawed, drilled, painted without effort.

The only drawback is the toxicity of the adhesive used to bond the veneer layers together. When buying, you need to study the characteristics of the product: the plywood must be marked with E0 - this material contains a minimum amount of formaldehyde, and the product is considered environmentally friendly.

Pallets

A house made of pallets can become a favorite place for a child to play, but you need to be careful when choosing material.

Can not use:

  • pallets bearing the IPPC marking - harmful chemicals are used for their processing, provoking the development of various diseases;
  • used pallets in the markets - after prolonged operation in the open air, wooden structures that have not been treated with protective equipment may become fragile, and the building will soon become unusable;
  • pallets painted in bright colors - it is impossible to vouch for the quality and safety of the paint, and it is better not to risk the health of the child.

You need to build a children's wooden house with your own hands using high-quality material without visible damage: cracks, traces of decay, mold or paint residues.

The dream of any girl is a big beautiful dollhouse equipped with all interior items, a very expensive pleasure.

Not everyone can buy it in the store.

However, you can make a dollhouse with your own hands, and if you involve your daughter in the process, then the joint work will bring pleasure to the whole family.

In order to start manufacturing, you must first resolve the issue with the dimensions and material of the future design. Then draw up a project of the house, make drawings for cutting or cutting, think over and select materials for finishing, consider options for fastening and installing the entire structure. It is important that it is stable and can withstand small “shocks”.

The size will depend on the height of the dolls that will "live" there, as well as on the possibilities of the room. After all, an apartment for half a room will take up too much space, limiting the hostess.

At the same time, a very small structure will be more difficult to manufacture and finish, because working with small parts is not easy.

For ease of use, the height of the ceilings is set at the level of twice the height of the doll, then it will be easy to move it around the rooms and install it inside. Higher ceilings are welcome, they will make the game even more interesting.

The depth of the rooms is determined based on the growth of the dolls and the need for free space for objects inside the house. On average, it is 30-45 centimeters, but it can be more. The width is calculated based on the number of rooms for dolls and the volume of the room.

The shape of the house usually resembles a rectangle, elongated in height or in width, it all depends on the manufacturer's imagination. For a large structure, you can use furniture wheels that screw on from the bottom and make it easy to move the doll housing to any place.

You can create a project on paper or, using modern technologies, in a program on a computer, which itself will calculate the amount of materials needed for a building.

An example of a standard doll house project:

In many ways, the size depends on the material, since not every raw material is able to maintain its shape and withstand stress. Let's try to consider houses made of different materials.

Plywood or laminate

Plywood is a very good choice for making a dollhouse. It holds its shape well, is strong enough, easily fastened with glue or self-tapping screws. It is convenient to work with it using standard tools, only after completion of work is it advisable to clean it with a sandpaper to make it smoother.

It is convenient to decorate plywood with paper or fabric, moreover, it is durable. Laminate flooring has similar properties, which is also often used to create a doll's apartment.

An example of a dollhouse scheme:

To create you need:

  • laminate or plywood, with a thickness of at least 7 mm;
  • PVA glue, it can be replaced with carpentry;
  • jigsaw;
  • the remnants of wallpaper that will be used for decorating walls, pieces of furniture, and for the floor, you can use a self-adhesive film;
  • pencil for marking;
  • tape measure or centimeter.

The manufacturing process consists of the following steps:

  1. Cutting out the wall of the plywood structure according to the dimensions in the drawing.
  2. Highlighting places where windows, doors will be located, cutting them out.
  3. Assembling the structure with wood glue or small nails.
  4. Roof construction, its design. The roof of the house can be covered with corrugated cardboard and painted, thus imitating the tiles.
  5. Fastening the structure to the base is a piece of plywood that is slightly larger. This is necessary to give the structure more stability and the possibility of additional decoration. For example, on a wide surface in front of the house, you can organize a veranda or flower beds.
  6. Decorating the inner and outer sides of walls, floors. Sometimes it is more convenient to paste over the inner walls before assembling the house, then the joints will not be visible, but in this case it is important not to make large overlaps, violating the proportions of the structure.
  7. Arrangement of furniture.
  8. Interior decoration with small details: curtains, rugs, tablecloths and more.

Plasterboard layouts

Drywall is also a popular material because of its strength and cheapness, because it often remains after repair in the form of small pieces that have nowhere to attach. The Barbie House is perfect for this. However, it is more difficult to hold it together, the glue is poorly suited here, for it it will be necessary to align the incision sites to reduce the consumption of funds.

Self-tapping screws twisted into metal corners will be more effective. But they will need to be taken in small sizes or then sawed off the tips sticking out from the outside.

The scheme for working with drywall is similar to that of plywood, the tools for it are the same. Therefore, you can use the scheme above.

Styrofoam

This material is also from the category of budget, remaining after the purchase of household appliances or other goods. Its only drawback is fragility, so you should work with foam carefully.

For work you will need:

  • foam, preferably in large sheets;
  • toothpicks, bamboo sticks (left over from sushi sets);
  • glue gun;
  • several wooden rulers;
  • corrugated cardboard;
  • the remains of wallpaper;
  • foam sponge;
  • the remains of ceiling plinths;
  • accessories for creating an interior.

The manufacturing process will be presented in stages:

  1. Project development, drawing up a drawing.
  2. Cutting the foam according to the drawing data, it is better to do this with a hot knife, then the foam will crumble less.
  3. Cutting out future windows, doorways.
  4. Assembly. To do this, you need toothpicks, which need to be broken in half, fasten the pieces of foam with them, apply glue between them and press more tightly.
  5. The ceiling and floor are also glued with a glue gun, only to strengthen the structure they need to be strengthened. For this, bamboo sticks are used, which are glued to the foam in the form of cross beams.
  6. An interfloor staircase is built separately, it is made of wooden rulers or the same foam, and the railings are made of toothpicks or bamboo sticks. After that, the finished one is glued into the structure.
  7. Manufacturing of a roof, the material for which can be foam or corrugated cardboard.
  8. Finishing outside includes painting the entire building with acrylic paint, which is convenient to apply with a foam sponge with light tangential movements. Outside, a balcony can be made, which is assembled in the same way as a staircase.
  9. Finishing from the inside, pieces of wallpaper and colored paper are used for it, window sills and other interior details can be cut from the ceiling plinth. Curtains, carpets, small decorations will add comfort to the designs.
  10. Arrangement of furniture, check-in.

Bookshelf or shelving

It is not at all necessary to purchase materials for making a home for dolls, sometimes it is enough to use interior items that are no longer in use. So, an old bookshelf or cabinet may well become a home for a Monster High or a little princess.

In this case, the amount of work required is minimal: it will only be necessary to close up the back wall of the house and equip the internal contents. Details such as the roof and chimney can generally be drawn or depicted with duct tape for a structure standing against a wall.

Old cabinet or chest of drawers

Old bedside tables, dressers, wooden cabinets gathering dust in the attic or in the basement can also be used in business. They are much better suited for large dolls and require minimal rework.

Internal shelves, drawers can be removed, thus creating large rooms. Or, conversely, add partitions between high ceilings for the height of the dolls used. And of course, the finish that will give the product a finished look.

Cardboard

The popularity of cardboard is quite understandable, it is inexpensive, easy to assemble, always available. True, this design is short-lived, since the cardboard breaks and tears. Therefore, it is better to use corrugated cardboard, which is used for packaging.

A house from it is assembled quickly and easily from scrap materials:

  • the corrugated cardboard itself;
  • finishing elements;
  • fabrics and other things.

Tools that will be needed in the work:

  • drawings, part templates;
  • knife, brushes, paints, pencils, markers;
  • glue gun;
  • ruler and others.

The assembly process is simple and similar to other designs, however, the cardboard has some peculiarities: it bends easily, so you need to crumple it carefully. It is better to fix it with glue, while the edges are not cut off, but bend inward and act as a fastening element.

To bend the cardboard correctly in this place, you need to hold something pointed, but not cut through, for example, a pencil. A groove is formed along which the material will bend easily.

It is better to cut out details like windows with a clerical knife along the marked lines.

Boxes

Cardboard boxes are the easiest way to assemble a dollhouse for a girl. To do this, you need to go to the back door of the nearest store and collect boxes that are close in size. This will make it faster and easier to assemble the house.

Then you need to fasten it together with glue or double-sided tape. Cut out windows and create a decor. Exterior decoration can also be made from boxes, for example, a balcony or terrace.

Tissue

A fabric house is a good option for a small room, since it can be folded and removed for a while. To make it, you will need a dense fabric with various patterns and the ability to sew.

The structure is assembled from fabric according to the scheme. Each element is sewn separately, then turned inside out and fastened into a single house. To seal the walls, you can use cardboard or plastic mesh, which is placed inside, they will not allow the walls to bend, make the whole product more durable. However, the cardboard house cannot be washed.

How to make a ladder for a house or castle?

The staircase in the doll house is one of the most difficult elements, a real challenge for dad. The easiest way to make it is cardboard or foam. The first one can simply be bent into the desired position, and then reinforced with intermediate parts using the same foam.

A wooden staircase can be made from two rulers and several blocks. Small cuts should be made on the rulers at regular intervals, into which steps from small pieces of wood are inserted at an angle of about 45 degrees, which are attached with glue in one and immediately into the second ruler. Wide rulers can act as handrails.

A foam ladder can be cut from a piece if there is a large enough block. It is placed at an angle and the steps are cut with a hot knife. Real craftsmen can build a staircase from wooden blocks according to special drawings.

Interior arrangement - toy furniture and decor

Interior arrangement is a real holiday for a girl, so you should invite her to help in interior decoration and furniture making. The latter can also be very diverse. The most affordable option is cardboard.

Everything that is in the house will go for decoration:

  • the remains of wallpaper;
  • pieces of fabric;
  • beads;
  • artificial flowers;
  • toothpicks;
  • cardboard boxes and so on.

It all depends only on the manufacturer's imagination. Beautiful curtains, bedspreads, tablecloths, even paintings on the walls can be made by yourself. It won't take a lot of time, but it will be fun and will help to attract the girl to housework and sewing.

Lighting

It seems almost impossible to make lighting in the house, because the connection to the network and the presence of wires are far from safe. Especially if the home is made of wood or cardboard. In the event of a short circuit, a fire is possible.

However, there is a simple, safe solution - small battery-operated LED bulbs. Their voltage is very low, and the fastening is simple - with the help of double-sided tape.

Creating lighting in the dolls' dwelling:

Making a dollhouse is a fascinating and long process in which not only parents, but also their children should participate. Even a small child can make small parts or hold tools. At the same time, joint work unites, and the acquired skills will be mastered by children much faster and the process will be interesting.
