Lamps made of paper, as a hobby, came to us from China and in those ancient times such lamps were called Chinese lanterns. Such lamps are characterized by many qualities that make their manufacture not only an exciting hobby and the ability to communicate with children through joint thinking and design. You can make good money by making such lamps.

We make a beautiful paper lamp in MK with our own hands

What are the qualities of lamps made of paper:
  1. Unusual. There are so many different designs, types and directions for the use of these lamps created in the world that there is not enough imagination even to present them all, all the more to describe them in one article.
  2. These lamps create a diffused and slightly dimmed light that creates romance and an atmosphere of mystery.
  3. Even extraordinary external lightness and a variety of forms can give the design of rooms completely different shades. You can create them in almost all styles.
  4. With a completely negligible cost of the source material (paper), the prices of such lamps mainly depend on the quality and originality of the design work and the skill of the designers.

About the purpose of paper lamps:

  1. Light fixtures made of paper can themselves be both the base and frame of a table lamp.
  2. They can be a lampshade on a pre-made frame with your own hands or with the participation of some kind of decorative elements as a basis. Such decorative elements can be old things from mezzanines and attics that have already served their time.
  3. These lamps do not look bad on walls as they function as sconces.
  4. A ceiling lamp (chandelier) can look very elegant, both with one light bulb, and with a large number of them.
  5. And finally, paper lamps, with which a closer acquaintance with this direction in home handicrafts began, are lanterns. Among them, the Chinese lanterns stand out.

The simplest thing is to make a lamp out of paper using pre-prepared templates, from which the entire lamp structure is assembled according to the diagram.

Paper itself was first made in China and it was from there that the art of creating unique paper lamps as a style began to spread in the form of Chinese lanterns.

Today, many prefer this style when making paper lamps. It is he who allows you to bring revived colors, brightness and a festive mood.

What materials will be needed:
  1. Paper. Plain, offset, corrugated, glossy, different colors. Paper should be translucent, white, or colored.
  2. Electric socket with wire and plug. We remove it from the old lighting fixture, if not, we purchase it in the store or on the market.
  3. Electric lamp. Due to the fact that a paper lamp can easily light up - choose an LED light bulb.
Tools:

Stationery or just a sharp knife, pencil, ruler, thread and awl.

Luminaire manufacturing and assembly:
  1. On the back of the paper, mark out the contours and create a pattern for the lamp. To make the right way, we use the scheme, according to which we draw a contour using a pencil and a ruler.
  2. Bend the paper along the outlined contours so that, where necessary, we get an accordion. You can't rush here. The quality of the flashlight and its appearance depends on how clear and even the bends are.
  3. We insert the light bulb into the socket.
  4. We make holes in the lower part of the cartridge with an awl and pull the thread through them.
  5. We wrap the resulting lampshade around the cartridge, glue the edges or simply lay them on top of each other. The latter will allow changing bulbs quickly without damaging the lamp.

The most difficult part of this process arises precisely when folding the paper base of the lamp. To give the lamp more originality, you can paint it with some kind of pattern or even Chinese characters.

How to make a lamp using these templates, look at other options for making lamps from paper and cardboard, see how lamps (they are also lanterns) are made for Halloween from the same materials in our video selection.

Video selection on the topic of the article

To create a lighting device, almost everything that can be found at hand is used: wooden sticks, pieces of plinth, containers, wood cuts, metal sticks and pipes, glass products, fabrics. Homemade lamps make them futuristic, classic, glamorous, minimalist. For each type, several step-by-step master classes have been invented. It is customary to decorate design rooms with unusual lamps. These can be products with slots, many separate fragments, in the form of a large ball or cube. They make the same lamps with their own hands, from any material. This is done not only by craftsmen selling their products, but also by ordinary owners of apartments and houses. Homemade chandeliers can be similar to the store ones or they can be made in an unusual way: from graters, cans, etc. The shape depends on the characteristics of the material and the performer's imagination.

What can be used as materials

You will need:

  • fat cream;
  • PVA glue;
  • cotton buckle;
  • dye;
  • Balloon.

There are some interesting options. Ordinary threads will make a beautiful glowing ball. First you need to inflate the balloon and grease it with cream. It is placed in a container with water and PVA diluted in it. Then he is wrapped in threads. The structure is left to dry for 24 hours - all that remains is to put the product on the shade. The second way is to use straws. The sheets are twisted diagonally, the protruding ends are glued. It will take two hundred tubes: they are glued together in a round or triangular shape. The next option is a wire lampshade: it is twisted into a spiral or conical shape. You can also create a lamp from plastic bottles: the bottom and neck are cut off. You will need a wire, acrylic paint, sealant, and a marker. There are many other techniques for making a DIY lamp.

Options for creating lamps from wood

Making a lamp with your own hands is first and foremost an art, not an economy. Despite the fact that wood is a simple and inexpensive material, wood products can compete with others in terms of quality and aesthetics. The process of making them will not be the easiest. You will need to carry out complex calculations, work with a large number of tools, and remove a lot of garbage. Lighting devices are made from saw cuts, branches, veneer, wooden slats, wooden boxes and frames, wheels, logs, beams, etc. A wooden lamp is an ideal solution for an antique-finished interior. It can be crafted from a piece of a trunk or from processed materials, for example, in the form of a complex geometric design of sticks, a ring, a cylinder, or a square created from four or eight beams.

Master class: how to make a lamp from wood cuts

You will need a tree trunk, grinder, hacksaw, LED strip (2 m), brushes, wood varnish, glue, matte plastic pipe. First, the trunk is cut into sections of the same thickness - about 2 cm. Then a template is made in the center of one of the cuts. He and all other cuts are drilled according to the marking. Measurements must be carried out carefully, because of poorly marked fragments, the whole process will have to be started anew. After that, they need to be sanded. The next step is strengthening with glue and laying on pads to dry. After that, the log cabins are varnished. In parallel, you can prepare a matte tube - a rod for the structure. Its surface is treated to a maximum matte effect. The cuts are put on the tube and after that it remains to take one more step. The last step is to mount the tape. It must be folded in your hands and in this form placed in the tube.

The list of required materials and tools includes: self-tapping screws, a drill, chipboard, a brush, acrylic varnish, an electric shoe, 4 cartridges and 7 two-meter rails. You need to cut out blanks from chipboard, and paste over their edges with an edge. The slats are assembled into a single structure in the form of a cross with a diamond shape in the center. The base is cut from a 5 mm sheet of plywood. In places where the slats create intersections, pieces of bamboo sticks or dowels are installed. At the base, 8 holes must be drilled: 4 are for the ceiling, and the same number for the main part of the lamp. From a tin, you need to bend 4 corners with beveled edges. They are mounted with self-tapping screws so that the open parts of the corners are directed towards the inside of the lampshade. The entire wooden frame is varnished twice, with a break for drying. At the end, the cruciform structure is screwed on with confirmations.

It can be made from twelve strips. For the inside, take a smaller one - 60 cm, for the outside - 70 cm. The strips are made of sheet: they are cut along the fibers with a steel ruler and a knife. On a large piece of paper, draw a circle with a diameter of 350 mm or more. It is divided into 30 ° sectors. On the left and right sides of the lines separating the sectors, parallel lines are drawn around the perimeter of the circle to determine the desired position of the veneer strips. Then a disc with a small hole is prepared to lay the strips. They are glued clockwise in the form of a snowflake, first three short, then three long. After the glue has dried in the structure of the strips, it will be necessary to make a hole about 1 cm wide. A wire is pushed through it, and a bushing is attached to the disk. The hanging ends of the strips are fixed with a flange and bolts.

Lamps made of textiles and threads

To create a lampshade, you can use old clothes: jeans, knee-highs, ruined dresses, etc. Products are decorated with bows, pockets, threads with beads. In almost all cases, the fabric must be worn over some kind of frame. You can also do it yourself. It is better to choose metal as a material, sometimes wood. The basis for a homemade fabric chandelier can be factory lamps, both new and old. The fabric of an ordinary old lampshade can be removed, and instead of it, a modern one with stylish patterns can be fixed. To create and design homemade chandeliers, threads of different thicknesses are used. They wrap various jars and frames, connect parts of the lamp and hang the structure. Lampshades made of hardened threads look interesting. In addition to them, twine or ropes are also used. They work well with different fabrics and papers.

Master class: ball-shaped lamp made of threads

To create this product you will need:

  1. Base from a table lamp.
  2. Glue.
  3. Thick threads (up to 4 balls).
  4. Air balloons.

The balloons are inflated first. A few are better, because they can burst. Their shape should be perfectly round. A ten-centimeter circle is drawn on each of them with a felt-tip pen. A stand with a light bulb will be inserted through a hole of this size. The ball is placed on the oilcloth. An adhesive solution is being prepared. You need to put on rubber gloves on your hands to dip threads in it. When they are saturated with the solution, they are taken out; then the glue clots are removed. The end of the string is tied to a balloon knot. After that, it is wrapped around the entire ball, this must be done evenly over the entire surface, but chaotically. It is advisable to use several threads of different colors. The ball is then suspended until the structure is dry. Then they burst it, and the knot is cut off. The ball is removed through a large hole, into which you will then need to insert a socket with a light bulb.

DIY fabric lampshade

You will need thick paper, glue, fabric, threads to match the color of the fabric, pins, a ruler, a pencil, an iron. You will need to make a template to calculate the required amount of fabric. If the frame for the lampshade should have a cylindrical shape, then measure the circumference and height and alternately draw the corresponding lines, creating a right angle. Opposite sides of the rectangle are drawn. The desired shape is cut out of the paper. She is applied to the tissue. From it you need to get a larger rectangle. It is cut out after the desired fragment is selected. Then the fabric is fixed on the template with pins (its edges must be folded). After that, you need to use a sewing machine. The processed fabric is ironed. After that, it is glued to the base. Raw slices are hidden. The seam is made so that the base is covered with the stitched edge.

Plastic chandeliers and lighting fixtures

Plastic has become one of the most demanded materials in modern interiors. This also applies to lamps - a wide variety of models are sold. With your own hands, you can make a chandelier that will in no way be inferior to finished products. The plafond of the lighting fixture is constructed from anything. These can be disposable cups, various sticks, painted plastic bottles. They are sometimes decorated with decorative devices: figurines, luminous details. Various metal frames can be used as an auxiliary material. The easiest way is to make a desk lamp. Cut parts and hole shapes can be used. Instead of throwing away unnecessary plastic items (used disposable dishes, etc.), it is better to try to make a small lamp out of them that can decorate the room.

Master class: we make a plafond from plastic spoons

You need to find a large number of identical plastic spoons, up to 200 pieces. It will be more difficult to design a product from whole devices, but if you cut them off, then everything will turn out quite quickly and easily. The handles of the spoons must be cut off and removed, leaving only the scoop. Then you can use the ready-made lampshade for pasting the elements or cut it out of the eggplant. A lower part is made from it and a hole is made for a light bulb, or the top of the neck is cut off, leaving a fairly wide hole. Next, you need to decide on the pattern. The upper surfaces of the cups will create a shell-like pattern, and the lower surfaces will create a "scaly" surface. If you choose the second option, then jumpers need to be glued to the eggplant. First, the upper part is trimmed, laying out rows of spoons one after the other. When the process comes to the open part, then you need to calculate everything so that the last row hides the cut edge of the eggplant.

As a mount, you can use:

  • glue;
  • office plasticine;
  • Scotch.

You will need steel wire for the frame, thin wire, a soldering iron, scissors, ten plastic bottles of various shades of green. From the bottles, you need to cut leaves of different sizes and shapes. Fragments in the form of birch leaves and other leaves with a more or less compact shape are ideal. Thus, more elements will be obtained. Slices that simulate plates are best processed with a soldering iron to make them slightly bent. The veins also need to be made with the edge of the sting: the leaves will take on a more natural look. Since the bottles are cylindrical, the blanks will be curved. Holes for fine wires are punctured with a hot needle. You need at least two on each leaf, but even better four in order to thread the wire with a "figure eight". As many sheets as possible are put on each. Then the flexible wires are securely twisted behind the steel wire frame.

Handle the soldering iron as carefully as possible so as not to burn your fingers or burn the leaves.

You can make several types of such lamps. Materials required: rubber feet, silicone sticks, fluorescent lamp, fiberboard circle, CDs. Required tools such as a triangle ruler, pencil, compasses, glue gun, screwdriver, pliers, pliers, drill. In a round shape, a hole is made from fiberboard in the very center, twelve sectors are drawn on it. One small hole is drilled on the lines that separate them. Steel wires will be pulled through them, each of which will house a stack of discs. The design will turn out to be quite heavy, so metal wires are needed. A wire with a cartridge is inserted into a hole in a circle made of fiberboard, a light bulb is inserted into it. You can also make a polyhedron lamp, a shade in the form of a ball, petals, a ring lamp from discs.

Methods for creating paper fixtures

This material is popular for its flexibility. You can design an interesting figurine or fold sheets of paper several times and make flowers. The folded paper sheets are connected in rounded shapes. Paper lamps are made in the form of plants, animals, abstraction. Some people like to make patterns and cutouts. In some countries of the East, rice paper chandeliers are widely used. For the manufacture of the lamp, you can use the origami technique. Paper fixtures are created in two main ways, namely by using one or more large sheets or by gluing a large number of paper elements together. Over the past ten years, table and floor lamps have gained popularity. Paper can be used to make icon lamps, carved pumpkins and houses. This material is also suitable for creating a traditional lampshade:

  • conical;
  • cylindrical;
  • elliptical.

Rice or parchment paper

Rice paper comes in handy for making a Chinese lantern. Additionally, you will need a thread, an awl, a stationery knife, a ruler and a pencil. First, you need to make the markup on paper. The flashlight circuit consists of many diamond-shaped sectors. Half of them are filled with vertical discontinuous markings. After that, the leaf is folded into an accordion. It curls up into a circle. Painted covers can be glued to the top and bottom. To make a shade of parchment paper, you need a scribe board, a circular knife, two sheets of parchment paper, two rolls of waxed paper (similar to parchment paper), scissors, a silk ribbon, and a hanging frame. Satin ribbon strips 18-20 cm long and 40 cm long are attached to the frame structure. The final stage consists in pasting parchment and wax paper circles on the ribbons. You need to attach them with an overlap.

Origami chandelier from paper bags

To make such a lamp with your own hands, you will need a wire with a switch, an LED lamp, two paper bags with a picture. First you need to learn how to make simple origami. The next step is to cut off the bottom of the bags, remove the handles. They are glued together in one large paper bag. It is folded in half. Both parts "transform" into accordions. You need 16 identical stripes. The outermost ones are folded diagonally. A hole is pierced with an awl. One of the two open sides is securely fixed with a thick thread. It is necessary to leave the possibility of regulation. The second will be open. The LED light is connected to the socket, the top of the lampshade opens and closes back. This kind of lighting is needed, you cannot use incandescent lamps. The wire is fixed on a branch of a tall decorative tree - the product is ready.

Products made of corrugated paper look very original, which is why the material has become so popular. You will need an LED lamp, cable, thread, glue, a knitting needle, a ruler, a piece of corrugated paper 44 × 88 cm.First of all, you need to take a ruler and a pen and mark the paper on a line with the same width. Guided by the drawn lines, you need to make an accordion out of a flat sheet. With the help of a knitting needle, it folds diagonally from one end, then returns to its original position and folds on the other side. The paper needs to be expanded again - rhombuses should stand out on it. The entire sheet now consists of double shapes. The first and subsequent folds must be made corresponding to the width of the stripes, otherwise the appearance of the paper will deteriorate. The workpiece is twisted into a spherical shape, and its upper part is fastened with a thread.

Butterfly chandelier

There are two ways to create such a lamp:

  1. One big butterfly.
  2. "Swarm" of small moths of different sizes.

Preschool children are more likely to like the lampshade in the form of many hanging figures. Individual parts of the luminaire can drop up to one and a half meters from the ceiling. An old lampshade or its frame is taken as a basis. If there are no such blanks, then you can use a metal or wood rim or thick wire twisted into a circle. It is necessary to prepare sheets with butterfly patterns in order to select butterflies of the required sizes and shapes. It is recommended to make at least five different sizes of moths. Then the design will be visually larger. The butterflies are cut with small scissors or a utility knife. It is desirable that the paper is thick. The cut out figures are painted with different colors, decorated with sparkles, however, on some patterns, the butterflies may already be colored. To bring the product to readiness, the butterflies are fixed on the fishing line and attached to the base.

The finished Chinese lamp can be used as a basis for other products. They are cheap. You will need a perfectly round model. The first option: cut out circles of different colors from the fabric and glue them with an overlap. From a Chinese ball, you can make something like a round plate-like cone. The second method: circles are cut out of sheets of square-shaped paper. They are connected in the center, the edges are raised until the perfect flower is obtained. The elements are attached to the ball in ordered rows. Beautiful tartlets are made from paper sheets. They should be filled with something. The paper is also folded into square envelopes that can be made into four conical molds. Some people use an old wall map instead of paper. A newspaper lampshade with gray or brown printed images will look stylish in any interior.

Loft-style lamps made of metal pipes and tubes

Non-functioning water pipes with taps can be assembled into a single structure, equipped with bulbs and thus create a stylish and useful thing. It is better to place it on the wall. This is a very popular loft-style decoration element. Steampunk lamps are created from large and small pipes. These are complex structures, without special training it will not work to make them. However, it is possible to construct a small robot with a "head" in the form of a light bulb. Beautiful ceiling chandeliers are made from pipes. In addition, there are various models of metal pipe fixtures. Brass is often used as a material. Chandeliers are created in the form of compositions from several tubes. Pipes, as a rule, are made in one piece, but lamps with various patterns and openings are also produced. They are not inferior in popularity to loft-style lamps.

You can make a beautiful product in the form of diamond facets. In addition to the pipes themselves, you will need sandpaper, a jigsaw, twine or wire, gloves. To create an original chandelier, you will need 20 pipes: 10 short (6 cm), 5 medium (12 cm) and the same long (25 cm). You need to find several long blanks, mark them and cut them with a jigsaw. After that, you need to do sanding with sandpaper so that the edges of the tubes are perfectly smooth. Further, the fragments are collected on a thick wire or twine. First, horizontal rows are created: the lower one of five short tubes and the middle one of the same number of medium tubes. Then they are connected by five more short tubes. The upper part of the structure is made of five long pieces, which must be combined with the already prepared part. Long pipes do not collapse completely, so you need to fix the cartridge in this place.

Luminaires from plumbing pipes

It is necessary to prepare such devices as an electric cable, electrical tape, tape, various screwdrivers, a two-wire wire, cartridges, hinges, fittings that match the parameters of the pipes. One of the tubes should be larger - it will serve as an attachment to the ceiling. The assembly process is quite complex. It is necessary to create a diagram on paper, and only then get down to business. At this stage, the configuration of the structure is determined. The splitters must be connected correctly. All parts of the construction being prepared can be polished and painted. It is better to give preference to white, red, gold and black colors. You need to wait about a day for everything to dry completely. After that, all pipes are put together. Light bulbs are twisted on them. The last stage is connection. Since the scheme is complex, it is better to invite a specialist.

Using glass to create lighting fixtures

You can hang a composition of several empty liquor bottles on the ceiling. Three-liter cans can be suspended by metal chains. Glassware will also work as a shade. A lamp made of many glass fragments can imitate a crystal chandelier. Broken glass objects find a new purpose in the form of an original lighting fixture. Glasses and wine glasses are used to create wonderful table lamps. Various glass boxes, glass from old wall sconces, headlights, interior doors can be useful. A homemade glass chandelier can be painted with watercolors or stained glass paints. You will get beautiful stained-glass windows. To create pendant lamps, craftsmen use a variety of decorative containers for oils and perfumes. Unlike wood and paper, glass has a high fire safety.

The list of necessary accessories includes wire cutters, screwdrivers, screws, glass cutter, silicone, rag or brush, stain, pine boards, hooks, chain, ten bulbs, wiring, wine bottles. The containers are processed first. Labels and glue residues are removed from the bottles. Using a glass cutter, you need to remove the bottom of each bottle: it rests at a height of 1-2 cm, and the bottle rotates around its axis. Cracks must be tapped with a hammer until the bottom falls off. After that, the electric wires are placed in bottles and connected to the cartridges. Light bulbs are screwed into them. Now you need to prepare the boards. In the lower, larger one, holes are drilled for necks and wires. The upper one will collect them into one bunch. Hooks for chains are screwed into the lower board, which will hold the structure. For the kitchen, you can make a table lamp with a bottle base and a wooden shade.

Wood planks can be stained to give an antique look.

Using old cans to create fixtures

Old jars can find a new purpose. Lamps can be created using threads, electrical wires, jar handles. Containers must be equipped with handles. They will need to be tied with threads attached to the iron frame prepared in advance. Electric wires with sockets and bulbs are lowered into the banks - the chandelier is ready. You can make an option for a summer residence - threads are tied around the branches of a tree, and candles or small lanterns are placed inside the cans. Containers wrapped in multi-colored threads or decorated with patterned napkins look beautiful. The inside of the cans can be painted white, and while it is still wet, apply a pattern in the form of chaotic lines. Some people paint the container from the outside with different colors, and on top they draw an image using glitter shadows. Banks can also be pasted over with small cullet.

Chandelier / light fixture in shabby chic style

Beautiful decorative items are created from beads and fabric, including lamps typical for this style. Shabby chic decor provides that the room is designed for a girl or a woman. You will need beads, beads, threads, chains, a lamp holder, a ready-made wooden or metal frame. The first step is to paint the base in some of the soft shades. After that, it can be wrapped with decorative elements or fabric. The top of the plafond is wrapped with smaller beads, but in larger quantities - up to 40 beads need to be strung on one thread, while on the lower threads - about 20. This is an approximate proportion, it, like the tension of the threads, can be changed depending on the size of the structure. The luminaire is usually covered with a pink cloth. All decorations are hung so that they flow downward.

Conclusion

The chandelier is the only important element in the upper part of the room, it can create symmetry and other geometric accents. To hang a beautiful, stylish, designer lamp in your room, you don't have to buy it in a store. Each home has enough items and tools to do everything on its own. In most cases, a blank, scissors, paper, glue, thread, frame, varnish and paints are enough. Occasionally you may need the help of an electrician. Most of the "handmade" fixtures are made of wood, plastic, paper, glass, textiles or metals. There are also more exotic options using different designs, small parts, molds. A homemade chandelier should not only perform an aesthetic function, but also provide high-quality lighting to the room. It should be designed wisely.

Lamp manufacturing. Master class with step by step photos

The paper kingdom is a magical and fairytale land. Its expanses are unimaginable. What is paper capable of in the right hands? Modeling with paper is a fun and educational hobby for all ages, and it is significant in that almost anything can be reproduced in paper and cardboard. Before us opens a huge, amazing world of military and space technology, fabulous and mysterious cities. And how nice it is to see the enthusiastic eyes of a child, when, before his eyes, any plane image turns into a three-dimensional one. And with what delight not only children, but also adults fly kites and, obedient to the wind, paper airplanes, made in the technique of classical origami, rise high to the clouds. The modular origami technique in our country is relatively young, but quickly gained immense popularity. I bring to your attention a night lamp made in this technique as a gift for our beloved mothers. Although March 8 is long behind us, you can give gifts to our beloved mothers and sisters on any day of the calendar, regardless of what time of year it is outside the window. This souvenir is designed for children of primary school age 7 - 9 years old. But from personal experience I can say that children of 10 - 12 years old do this work with great pleasure. If children are good at drawing and cutting tools, they can easily and quickly read diagrams, in two academic hours the children can do this job quite well. From personal experience, I was also convinced that this work is easily mastered by children of preschool age 5-6 years old with good technical training, i.e. fluent in various instruments. But for this age category, this model is best divided into four academic hours. Also, primary school teachers, teachers of additional education and parents of older preschoolers and primary school students can replenish their methodological piggy bank.
The purpose of this master class: to expand the horizons of children in initial technical modeling, to master the technology of electrifying simple homemade toys. Help primary school teachers and teachers of additional education to replenish their methodological piggy banks.
Master class objectives:
To acquaint readers with new modular origami crafts.
Teach readers to assemble a simple electrical circuit.
Create realistic scaled-down copies of household items

The manufacturing technology of a night light consists of four main stages:
Stage 1: Making a flower using modular origami technique.
Stage 2: Assembling a simple electrical circuit.

Stage 1: Making a flower using modular origami technique.
Step 1: Selecting paper by color and texture.
Colored paper "Rainbow" is well suited for a flower. You can use ordinary colored paper, preferably double-sided, but when the petals are formed, ordinary colored paper quickly tears. By color, you can use different shades, from the brightest to pastel colors (photo # 1).

Step 2: Making six 110 x 80 rectangles.
Take one green sheet of paper. From the upper left corner, set aside 110 mm (11 cm) and set a notch, then set aside 80 mm (8 cm) from the notch down, also marking it with a notch, and set the same distance down from the upper left corner. Connect the serifs with straight lines and get a 110 x 80 rectangle (photo # 2)

By the same principle, we build two more of the same green rectangles and three pink ones. Then we cut out all the constructed rectangles. The result is three green and three pink rectangles 110 x 80 (photo # 3).

Step 3: Making modules according to the scheme.
All rectangles - modules are folded according to the same scheme:
We put each rectangle with its long side horizontally and fold it along the floors.
We bend each corner alternately to the midline (photo No. 4)

Now we also bend the sides to the middle (photo No. 5). We get three green and three pink hexagons.

bend the upper and lower edges of each hexagon to the middle (center line) (photo No. 6)

We fold each hexagon horizontally in half, the difference is that
we bend green modules with a smooth surface outward (photo No. 7), and bend pink modules with a smooth surface inward (photo No. 8).

Step 4: Assembling the flower.
To connect the modules, you need a strong thread 15 - 20 cm long.
We compose the green modules in one line with the fold up (photo No. 9) and cover with pink modules (photo No. 10), then tie them with a thread in the middle (photo No. 11). Cut off the excess ends from the remaining thread.

Stage 2: Assembling a simple electrical circuit.

Step 1: LED selection.
An LED is a semiconductor device that converts electrical current directly into light. This luminaire is designed for a 4.5 V power supply, so we choose a 3 V LED of any color.

Step 2: Attach the resistor to the LED.
Each LED has two contacts (short and long), we find a short one and bend it a little in the form of a hook. We take a resistor with a resistance of 270 ohms.
He also has two contacts. We bend one of them and connect it to the LED (photo No. 12), after which we fix the junction with a small piece of insulating tape. (photo No. 13)

Step 3: Harvesting wires.
We need three wires with a diameter of 0.2 mm, length 130 mm, 110 mm, 50 mm.
Before starting work, we clean the ends of the wires using an insulation stripper, carefully remove the insulating sheath and the silk thread with which the wire is wrapped. then we carefully twist the ends of all wires.

Step 4: Attach the wires to the LED and switch.
We connect the long wire (130 mm) to the "+" contact on the LED (without a resistor) by twisting, then fix it with insulating tape, and connect the wire (110 mm long) to the free contact of the resistor, also securing it with insulating tape. (photo No. 14),
We twist a loop at the end of each exit (photo no. 15).
We check the finished electrical circuit using a power source (battery). (photo number 16)
We attach the switch between the wire with the resistor and the short wire (50 mm).
(photo number 17)

Stage 3: Making a cardboard box.
Step 1: Making a drawing of a box for an electrical circuit from a sheet of cardboard
A4 format.
Step 2: Cut out the unwrap of the box. (photo no. 18)

Step 2: Cutting the slots in the box. (photo No. 19)
Putting the glass under the unrolled box, carefully make the slots with a clerical knife. Rectangular for the switch, round for the LED.

Stage 4: Assembling the night lamp.
Step 1: Fastening the switch to the side hole of the box.
We take the electrical circuit by the plastic lens of the LED (cone) and carefully pass it through the side (rectangular) and central (round) holes (photo No. 20). We put the switch tightly in the hole and start the LED in the round hole (photo No. 21)

Step 2: Installing the LED on the flower.
We thread the flower blank between the LED wires, tightly put the LED on its middle and pull the remaining wires inside the box.
On the inside of the box, we fasten the wires with electrical tape.
(photo number 22)

Step 3: Connect the wires to the power source.
We put both loops of wires on the contacts of the battery: short to "-" (short contact), and long wire to "+" (long contact). If the circuit is assembled correctly, your LED will light up.

Step 4: We glue the box with PVA glue.

Step 5: Forming a flower.
We bend the end of the pink module to the middle (you can count from any petal), then, according to the same principle, raise the petals No. 3 and No. 5. Press it tightly to the center. You need to lift the petals carefully so as not to break the module (photo no. 23) We also raise the rest of the petals. (photo no. 24).
Having received a flower, we form green leaves by lightly pressing on the center of the green module, slightly pushing the sides of each green module. (photo no. 25)

Light and airy, eye-catching with unusual shapes and colorful ornaments, illuminating the room with a soft, diffused glow - paper lamps are traditionally popular in oriental interiors, and are successfully used in modern styles (for example, eclecticism, pop art, vintage, country). Much depends on the shape of the lampshade. And so that it perfectly matches the design theme - you can try to make paper lamps with your own hands.

Japanese style lamp

Classic lamps of the Land of the Rising Sun are made of rice paper and bamboo. But since most of our oriental items and accessories are just stylization, the following materials will be quite appropriate (and more accessible!):

Small base ceramic lamp holder;
Wire with plug and switch;
Twine or thick thread;
Paper tracing paper, silk or organza;
PVA glue;
Stain;
Piece of MDF;
Tools: file, sandpaper, square, scissors, brush;
The basis for the frame. It has its own peculiarities - if you plan to make a pendant lamp - wire or plastic corners can be used as a basis. If the lamp is floor-standing, it is better to use a frame made of thin wooden slats or window glazing beads.

Step-by-step making a paper lamp with your own hands:

1. Sand the slats with sandpaper. Saw off the blanks for the frame: 4 racks 30cm high and 8 beams 20cm each (dimensions for a 30W bulb).

2. Make markings at the places of future gluing so that the frame does not turn out to be curved. After "fitting" - apply serifs on each side of the bar.

3. Grease the joints with glue and assemble the structure. First you need to fasten the jumpers together, then glue the racks at a right angle. Corner joints are additionally secured with twine.

4. For the "roof" of the luminaire, use a sheet of plywood or MDF, in which a hole is made for the socket. All wooden parts are stained.

5. The structure can also be varnished to enhance the natural beauty of the wood or painted in any suitable color. After - drape with a tightly stretched cloth or tracing paper glued to the frame and screw in a light bulb.

DIY Chinese style lamp

Multi-colored paper ball lamps can become a bright interior accent or an unusual decoration for the holiday. And to make them you will need:
Socket and light bulb (preferably LED - they heat up less);
Colored tracing paper 1-1.2 m long and 60-80 cm wide;
Tools: stationery knife, ruler, pencil, awl, thread.

We get to work:

1. Armed with a pencil and a ruler, make markings on the back of the paper - this way it will be more convenient to fold the sheet to get a characteristic relief.

2. Bend the paper along the lines: first along the dotted lines (accordion), then along the diagonal. It is important here not to rush and make neat folds strictly according to the markings - the appearance of the future lamp depends on your accuracy.

3. Assemble the bulb and socket. In the upper and lower parts of the sheet, make holes with an awl through which to stretch a strong thread, wrapping the lampshade around the lamp holder. The edges can be glued together or simply superimposed on each other - after all, the light bulb will need to be replaced someday.

Original lampshade made of paper tubes

Such a lampshade can be used to decorate a floor lamp or table lamp. It looks unusual, gives soft, subdued light and will become an interesting highlight in any modern interior. To make it, you need to twist about 100 pieces from newspapers. thin tubes (the exact number depends on the desired shape and size of the lamp) and fix their edges with glue.

You can leave the blanks in multi-colored or with a black and white newspaper print to add a touch of shock to the design. But if you are an adherent of classic things, wrap each tube in white or any plain paper. So the product will look solid and organic.

Any polygon can be taken as the basis for such a lamp. In our case, this is a pentagon. In its shape and lay out the bottom row, fastening the tubes together with PVA glue.

DIY romantic lamps-cups

If you do not understand electrics at all, and the desire to decorate the interior with a new lamp is great, we offer a simple option - decorative lampshades with candles.

Materials:

Thin paper;
Wire, 1-2mm thick;
Round tall glasses;
Candle pills;
PVA glue, stationery knife, pliers, tape and scissors.

Algorithm of actions:

1. Bend the wire with pliers as shown in the figure. The length of the structure should be slightly more than the height of the glass.

2. On the lower part, fix a tablet candle - they usually have a comfortable embossed base, which is well held on a wire stand.

3. Lower the wire with a candle to the bottom of a tall glass. The upper part of the "stand" can be decorated with a ball of plaster, polymer clay or other decoration.

4. The simplest lampshades can be made from multi-colored tracing paper. If you want a product with ornaments to your taste, you can come up with a drawing in any photo editor (for example, OpenOffice Draw, Fotoshop, Gimp).

5. In order not to be mistaken with the dimensions, measure the height, the circumference of the glass along the bottom and at the top. Add a clearance of 5mm to the results obtained. Create a trapezoid pattern, choose an ornament and fill color.

6. Print the finished template, cut out, try on a glass. From the inside of the paper, glue a vertical strip of tape, tightly wrapping the glass, fix the second edge.

The ceilings are painted, the walls are pasted over - this means that the repair is entering the home stretch, and you can start installing the lamps. And on this ...
