Do-it-yourself eared chair drawings. Do-it-yourself soft armchair - step-by-step instructions from furniture gurus. Secrets of reliable upholstery: how to sew

The armchair is one of the most comfortable, cozy, and therefore popular interior items. All chairs are usually divided into 2 categories: with or without a frame. The finished product is often expensive. But for DIYers, nothing is impossible. A do-it-yourself chair is a completely solvable issue. In the article, we will consider detailed master classes on the manufacture of soft products, as well as original wooden products for a summer residence.

Upholstery types

Upholstery for upholstered furniture is one of the important points. The presentable appearance of the product largely depends on it. Before making a chair, decide on the type of upholstery fabric. The most popular options are:

  • Velours. Noble fleecy fabric reminiscent of short fur.
  • Chenille. A fleecy, durable fabric made from a blend of natural and synthetic fibers. Does not roll down, retains a beautiful appearance for a long time.
  • Flock. Outwardly, the material resembles velor, but even more practical. Flock is easily cleaned of dirt, therefore it is recommended to use it for upholstered furniture in a nursery.
  • Jacquard. Heavy-duty, dense diaper with increased durability. Disadvantage - due to careless handling, puffs may appear.
  • Artificial suede. Highly durable material that is great for DIY chair making. Faux suede with embossing looks especially beautiful.
  • Tapestry. A high-quality, expensive natural fiber fabric with visible weaving. Threads of different shades form a pattern.

A set of necessary materials

When it comes to frame construction, the simplest option for a frame is cut plywood from a template. The best option is birch plywood. Consumables - screws and nails.

You will also need a set of carpentry tools:

  • Metal ruler, compasses, protractor - for marking.
  • Vices: hand and bench.
  • File.
  • Hacksaw.
  • Hand scissors.
  • Hammer.
  • Adjustable wrench set.
  • Soldering iron.
  • Pliers.
  • Drill.
  • Kerner.
  • Chisel.
  • Punch.

Important! If you want to make a fashionable and non-standard bean bag chair with your own hands, then the set of necessary equipment will be significantly reduced. All you need is a sewing machine and stuffing material.

Work planning

The beginning of any business is drawing up a clear plan of action. Think over the design of future furniture. It is more difficult and costly to make frame chairs, but they look more respectable than frameless structures.

Success in the manufacture of a beanbag chair depends on how accurately and correctly the patterns are made. This is not so much furniture production as the art of tailoring. Don't forget to calculate the budget for the event.

Important! It's not bad if you have an old, but quite decent and sturdy chair. In this case, a lot is simplified, since you can restore it and get an interesting vintage item.

Classic soft product

Such a thing as a do-it-yourself armchair requires a lengthy preparatory stage. From the materials you will need:

  • Plywood 20 mm thick.
  • Sandpaper.
  • Electric drill.
  • Sets of screws and thin nails.
  • The jigsaw is electric.
  • Metal headbands.
  • Foam rubber.
  • Glue for joinery.
  • Painting tape.
  • Ruler, tape measure.
  • Stain, glossy black dye.
  • Pencil.

Now you can get to work:

  1. Download the drawing of the chair you like, calculate the material consumption.
  2. Scale cardboard templates, transfer the outlines to the plywood, then cut out the parts with a jigsaw.
  3. Grind and sand the surface of the wooden parts. Pay special attention to the end areas, soaking them well with linseed oil.
  4. Paint or stain the sides. Reinforce the end parts of the sidewalls with metal rims. Secure the headbands with screws.
  5. The next step is to stretch the product. Start hugging at the back of the back using faux leather. Next, proceed to tightening the rest of the product. Secure the fabric with wallpaper nails.

Important! It is advisable to handle the attachment points with wood glue. The chair will turn out to be more solid.

Bag chair

This product is also known as the pear chair. To make it you will need:

  • Calico or satin fabric - 3.0 m.
  • Fabric for making the outer cover - 3.5 m.
  • Zipper - 1.0 m.
  • Filler.
  • Pieces of contrasting fabric for decoration.

The procedure for making this chair model is as follows:

  1. Download the bean bag chair patterns that you like the most.
  2. Make cardboard templates to scale.
  3. Transfer the contours of the chair to the fabric. You will need to sew the inner and outer covers separately. As a result, you will have 2 bottoms (top and bottom) and 6 cloth wedges.
  4. Sew the wedges together. In the resulting bag, leave a small area unstitched. Sew the top and bottom bottom together. After you have finished sewing the top cover, sew the inner cover in the same order.
  5. Cut out decorative appliqué elements and sew on the outside.
  6. Insert the zipper into one of the wedges. In case of dirt, you can remove the outer part and wash.
  7. Stuff the inner bag with about ⅔ of synthetic filler. Now it remains to put the inner bag into the outer one. Close the zipper.

The armchair with your own hands is ready! As you can see, there is nothing particularly complicated here.

How to make a do-it-yourself soft armchair for a children's room?

Making a frameless soft chair for a nursery is no more difficult than making a regular beanbag chair. The only difference is in color.

Important! It is better to choose a fabric that is bright, attuning to positive and cheerfulness. Shades should not be too "flashy" and annoying.

Here is one of the options for upholstered furniture in the child's room:

  • The frame chair can be made in the form of a semicircular sandwich. Hardboard is used for the back wall, plywood for the front.
  • Carefully glue furniture foam rubber onto the base, on top of which the upholstery will lie.

Important! The best upholstery options are flock or eco-leather. Even if a young artist paints the upholstery with felt-tip pens or paints, you can completely remove the marks.

  • The maximum height of the baby seat must not exceed 600 mm.

Wooden chair for giving

Here's another interesting option: a do-it-yourself wooden chair. Wood is a practical, beautiful and durable material, which, moreover, is perfectly processed. In addition, wood, when making home or country furniture on its own, has the following advantages:

  • The availability of a variety of sawn timber, their relatively low cost.
  • Naturalness, environmental friendliness.
  • Nice wood smell. Coniferous wood smells especially good.
  • Unique wood grain.

Important! It should be borne in mind that the conditions in which the country furniture is, if not extreme, are close to them. Therefore, you need to pay special attention to the processing of parts with an antiseptic. In this case, the furniture will serve you much longer.

Pine, spruce, ash, oak, larch or beech are best suited for home furniture production. Parts that are not heavily loaded can be made of linden or alder.

So, we make a garden chair with our own hands. Choose simpler drawings for a start. When choosing a design, be guided by two "golden rules":

  • Choose the design that you fully understand. Work through the entire procedure in your mind. Prepare the tools in advance that are convenient for you.
  • Consider the place of use of the furniture and the design of the room into which this very furniture is to be entered. For example, the best option for a summer residence is a folding product or an antique rocking chair.

Manufacturing procedure

Consider a simple model that consists of the following components:

  • Sidewalls - 2 pcs.
  • Drawers - 3 pcs.
  • Cross bars - 35 pcs.

It is these 35 slats that will form the surface of the seat.

The hardest part of the job is cutting out the side pieces:

  1. First, make a pattern on cardboard and only then, making sure of the correctness of the actions, transfer the contour to the material. The best option for making the sides is plywood with a thickness of 3 cm. Use an electric jigsaw to cut the parts.
  2. Sand the ends of the sidewalls. Using a hand router or grinder, remove the chamfers.
  3. Now cut 3 drawers out of plywood. The length of each is 120 cm, the width is 10 cm. Sand these parts, you do not need to chamfer.
  4. Cut 35 segments from a 50x25 mm bar, each of which is 120 cm long. Then, as usual, sanding and chamfering takes place. For fastening, prepare 12 confirmations 5x120 mm and self-tapping screws for wood 4x45 mm (40 pieces).
  5. Mark the places for attaching the drawers. There are 3 of them in total: in the leg, head and in the middle of the outer arches of the sidewalls. Drill 8mm through holes for the drawer sides.
  6. Pull the sides of the product together with three drawers. Use a 5 mm drill for the holes in the end pieces of the drawers.
  7. Now fix the pre-prepared pieces of bars to the seat using self-tapping screws.
  8. The final stage is to cover the holes and crevices with wood putty. After that, sand the product, prime the surfaces and paint with varnish or acrylic paint.

Video

As you can see, making a chair with your own hands is quite realistic. There is nothing particularly complicated in the independent production of chairs of different types. Good luck to you!

Frameless furniture appeared on the Russian markets quite recently. But thanks to its many benefits, it quickly became popular. But the price for such a novelty is often too high.

In the meantime, making an upholstered chair with your own hands is not difficult at all. This kind of work will not take much of your time. And you can involve children in sewing and decorating such an original decoration for your room.

Preparatory stages

Before you start doing, prepare a detailed drawing. If you do not carefully calculate all the required dimensions, then you may get a completely different result than you expected.

The easiest way is to make a soft chair in the shape of a pear or an ordinary bag.

Figure 1. An example of a drawing of a simple chair.

But you can give it the shape of a pyramid or, for example, a cube. Often, ottomans are made for children's rooms in the form of a drop or a funny animal, for example, a dragon.

An example of a drawing of a chair of a fairly simple form is shown in Fig. 1. Naturally, you can change the dimensions given in it at your own will.

The next step is to choose the fabric. You will need two types of matter. For the inner cover, get a thick enough fabric with a tight weave. Otherwise, the filler balls may come out of the bag over time. For this purpose, satin, coarse calico, fabric intended for sewing naperniks are well suited.

But the outer cover can be sewn from any material. Denim, artificial leather, fur or velor furniture will look good in any interior. The color of the material depends only on your taste, preferences and the appearance of the room.

In order to, you need to buy a special filler. Usually frameless furniture is stuffed with expanded polystyrene. It can be purchased at stores that sell furniture repair products.

Be careful when purchasing this product remotely (for example, from a catalog or via the Internet). This filler is very light and bulky. To transport 10 kg of "balls" you will need a cargo gazelle, because it will not fit into an ordinary car. When buying a filler, pay attention not to the weight, but to the volume of the package. To sew an upholstered chair, you need a bag with a volume of 200-250 liters.

If desired, expanded polystyrene can be replaced with foam crumbs. It can be obtained by crumbling, for example, decorative tiles used to decorate the ceiling.

Some experts advise to stuff frameless furniture with hay or buckwheat husks. But, using natural materials, remember that they should be changed about once every 5-6 months. Vegetable fillers absorb moisture well, which can lead to mold growth. In addition, such materials are quickly compressed, and the soft chair will lose its volume and elasticity.

Sewing a frameless option

In order to make an armchair of the dimensions indicated in the drawing, you will need the following materials:

  • fabric for the inner cover (with a width of 150 cm) - 3 m;
  • fabric for the outer cover (with a width of 150 cm) - 3 m;
  • zipper, 22 cm long;
  • sewing thread;
  • materials for decoration (edging, braid, ribbons, inlays).

Start by cutting out all the necessary parts. Don't forget to leave seam allowances! They should be 1.5-3 cm.

First, you need to prepare templates for all elements of the upholstered chair. They are usually made from paper or plastic wrap (if you want to make reusable patterns). When creating patterns, allowances do not need to be taken into account.

The finished piece is placed on the seamy side of the fabric and traced around the office with chalk or a piece of soap. The patterns leave a space equal to the allowances between the details. If you provide the same allowances for all parts, then the elements do not need to be marked separately. It is enough to fold the fabric in several layers and circle the pattern once.

Sewing should start with making the inner cover. "Petals" are sewn to the bottom in turn. Then the sidewalls of the long pieces are sewn together. One seam must be left with a packing hole. The top part is sewn last.

Next, a cover is made. It is done in the same way, only a zipper is inserted into one of the seams. To do this, the seam is sewn from below, to a length of 3-5 cm. Then a pass is made equal to the length of the zipper, and it is sewn to the end. The parts sewn in this way are turned inside out, and the allowances for the fastener are folded and ironed. The zipper is placed under the workpiece from the wrong side and pinned to the seam allowances. First, a stitch is laid on one side, trying to position it as close to the teeth as possible (usually special feet for sewing machines are used for this), then on the other. Finish the zipper with double seams at the beginning and end of the zipper.

Additional decor will make the chair a unique detail of your room. It can be decorated with embroidery, appliqués, decorative braid. This finish only depends on your personal taste.

How to make a do-it-yourself chair out of wood: drawings and dimensions, plus assembly instructions and explanations for working with lumber

For a comfortable stay in the country, you need a comfortable chair. However, the same furniture is needed in the apartment. A good chair is not difficult to buy, although it will cost a lot, but you can save money and assemble it yourself from wood. In this article, you will find simple instructions for making a wooden chair, and in addition, you will learn the rules for working with lumber.

Wood as the main material

Decided to make a chair and don't know what materials to use for this? The best material is wood, namely planks, beams, furniture boards and other solid wood lumber. There are several reasons for assembling wood furniture and among them:

  • Ease of wood processing... Working with wood is easier than with other materials from which it is customary to make furniture. Again, the tools that are in most home workshops will suffice for working with wood;
  • Affordable price... Planks, beams and other lumber are still inexpensive, given how many are required to make one chair. Moreover, you don't have to buy new lumber, because there are used pallets;
  • Great appearance of wooden furniture... The texture of the wood is distinguished by a beautiful pattern of fibers, which, of course, will decorate the chair you have assembled, provided that you cover it with transparent varnish;
  • Durability... Solid wood furniture surpasses furniture assembled from plywood or particle boards in terms of reliability. With proper use, a chair made of wood will last at least ten years.

What kind of wood is preferable? For the assembly of furniture I recommend hardwood lumber: aspen, linden, birch and fruit trees. Coniferous wood is knotty and resinous, which will complicate the cutting of materials and the finishing of the finished product.

Model selection

Now that you know what materials to make a chair from, it remains to decide on a suitable model. Here's a quick overview of popular options.

Conventional armchairs with armrests- in fact, these are chairs, but more massive and more comfortable

From pallets... This is the best option in terms of ease of assembly and low cost of materials. Again, with a competent approach to the assembly process, the finished products will look modern and stylish.

Shell... Despite the complexity of the design, this chair looks great and provides the greatest comfort in comparison with other models. The only drawback to this option is the need to bend a lot of wood pieces.

From the coil from the electric cable. A cable reel with an edged board back is furniture that is not only cheap, but also quickly manufactured. It will be even easier to make such a chair than from pallets. In addition, from the bay, thanks to its rounded sides, you can make a rocking chair.

Self-taught furniture maker standard questions set

Before proceeding with the manufacture of an armchair, I will comment on the questions that self-taught furniture makers most often ask.

How to cut? For longitudinal cutting we use a circular saw, for cross and curved cuts we use a jigsaw or a hacksaw.

How to fasten wooden parts? There are strong and lightly loaded connections in the design of the seats. For heavily loaded connections, we use bolts with washers and nuts. For lightly loaded joints, we use wooden dowels or furniture confirmations.

Paint or varnish? The choice of paintwork materials depends on the quality of the lumber. If the wood has no visible blemishes, it can be stained with wood stain and covered with clear varnish. If there are pigment spots on the surface or it was necessary to eliminate defects with putty, it is preferable to cover the part with a primer and a continuous layer of paint.

How to reduce the consumption of paintwork materials? Have you noticed that during the finishing of the chair, paints and varnishes are absorbed into the surface and unadorned places remain? The problem is that lumber has a porous structure and in order to reduce its absorbency, a preliminary application of a primer or drying oil will be required.

Why do cracks appear? Often, novice craftsmen, having made furniture from wood, eventually discover the appearance of cracks. The reason for the cracking of lumber is uneven shrinkage. The solution to the problem is the use of initially dry wood.

Preparation for work

At the preparatory stage, we select a suitable drawing, procure materials and prepare the tool.

I suggest using wooden pallets instead of new purchased boards as materials. One country chair will take one and a half pallets. Considering that used pallets are sold for about 300 rubles, the price of assembled furniture will be low.

Now let's select the drawing. The diagram shows the dimensions, oriented to the structure of a person of average height. If necessary, the dimensions can be revised upward or downward.

This drawing shows several views of the chair, namely, top, front and side views. The location of the fastening hardware is also shown, which provide a reliable connection.

DIY chair making process: step by step instructions

I offer step-by-step assembly instructions. To make it easier to repeat the listed steps, the instructions are presented in the form of a photo report. The stages are listed in the order in which these works need to be performed.

The armchair is a good place to work and relax. Before making a chair with your own hands, you need to familiarize yourself with its models, since there are a large number of chairs. For some models of chairs, willow vine or rattan is needed, as, being presented in other materials, they lose their charm. Maybe this piece of furniture can also be made of metal - forged rocking chairs look like jewelry in the interior.

Armchair drawing.

DIY armchair - wooden armchair

Solid wood furniture is a symbol of solidity and reliability, even if it is a lattice model. It does not take much time to make a chair from a bar, but it can serve for many years without needing restoration. For manufacturing you will need:

  • medium thickness timber;
  • plywood;
  • joiner's glue;
  • primer;
  • stain;
  • furniture dowel;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • sandpaper of 3 types;
  • Bulgarian;
  • screwdriver;
  • hand drill;
  • plane;
  • clamps;
  • sponge or foam rubber;
  • brushes;
  • pencil or marker;
  • square;
  • dye.

Chair making tools.

The thickness of the timber does not matter much, but when buying, you need to pay attention to a single section, which simplifies the work and shows the quality of the workpieces.

Ideally, all workpieces should be of the same thickness and with good linearity.

If one of the parts is twisted, this will greatly affect the integrity of the product, it may warp or crack during operation.

How to make a chair - manufacturing process

The timber is sawn into the required number of crossbars and supporting additional seat crossbars. The presence of a circular saw allows you to work well and quickly. The edges of the resulting bars are marked, and through holes are drilled at the same distance. The distance from these future mountings to the edge of the bar should be at least 25 mm, otherwise a hand-made chair will not be strong enough. A drill stand, on which you can set parameters such as the perpendicularity of the holes, their dimensions and distance, will help to maintain exactly all the parameters for many holes.

Before making a chair, one more safety concern is required - to process the ends and surface of the slats in order to exclude the appearance of splinters during operation.

In this case, all existing edges are rounded off using a grinder or planer. When the longitudinal strips are ready, the remnants of the timber are divided using a circular saw into squares, which will separate the strips from each other in the structure.

Garden chair assembly diagram.

Holes are also drilled in them, coinciding with those already available on the finished bars, they need to be sanded and smoothed out. Each master will determine the number of long bars and squares for himself, starting from the size of the chair and the thickness of the bar.

Dowels are inserted into the holes, a few drops of glue are added, after which each bar on both sides is connected to a pair of cubes. The workpieces are aligned along the edges by attaching a rail, then left to dry, tightening with clamps. After drying, the wood is treated with wood stain. You can thread a rope through the holes on the parts and hang the painted parts to dry. Lacquer coating takes place in the same way.

To make a chair with your own hands, the back and seat for the chair are cut out of plywood. They are twisted together using a pair of screws on the right and left. Dowels can give additional strength if holes are drilled under them and glued before use. All parts are painted in the desired color and, after drying, are varnished. It remains only to make the final assembly of the body using bushings and screw the seat. This unusual shape, bright and catchy armchair complements the interior well.

Garden easy chair with your own hands

Not everyone likes plastic chairs, which are now commonly used for decoration in the country or in the garden of the recreation area. Garden light chairs made of wood look more appropriate on the site, and their manufacture does not take much time. Before making a chair, you need to take into account that its design should be light and comfortable, it is best to prefer a folding chair. This will allow in case of rain to quickly transfer furniture under the roof, because even a well-processed tree should not be exposed to moisture.

Chair leg connection diagram.

Wood, in order to make a chair, you need to choose from hard species such as beech, walnut or oak. Pine, cedar, larch or aspen are also slightly susceptible to rotting, but pine is not resistant to mechanical stress, large dents remain on the surface. Boards should be selected well dried or dried under a canopy before starting work. The following materials and tools will be needed:

  • Circular Saw;
  • milling cutter;
  • hacksaw;
  • plane;
  • screwdriver;
  • drill;
  • clamps;
  • grinder;
  • roulette;
  • square;
  • pencil;
  • sandpaper;
  • screws or self-tapping screws;
  • joiner's glue;
  • drying oil or furniture varnish;
  • stain.

Preparation and assembly of parts

A garden chair will require two back and two front legs, with the rear legs being longer. You need to cut out 2 supports for the armrests, a backrest and a lintel. For the rear pair of legs, armrests, backrests and seats, boards matched in color and texture are glued until the desired width is obtained. In order to glue the wood qualitatively, grooves for the dowels are chosen at the ends. Paired parts can be cut out at the same time by pulling two boards together with clamps.

Rocking chair drawing.

The parts are then adjusted to size using a router or planer. When cutting the back, the glue seam, if present, should be placed in the middle of the part. The upper edge is rounded, and after that you can start assembling the garden chair, adjusting other elements as needed.

The rear legs are attached to the backrest with screws, reinforced with glue. To prevent the workpieces from cracking during assembly, holes for fasteners can be drilled in advance. The strength of the assembled seat will depend on the correct placement of the planks on it. They should lie in the direction from one leg to the other. The front legs are also screwed onto screws or self-tapping screws reinforced with glue.

The safety and stability of the chair is given by a prop - a jumper located between the front legs. They fix it in the same way as everything else, using glue and screws. Then the armrests and the support for them passing behind the back of the chair are attached.

The caps of all screws used for fastening should be sunk flush with the surface, and then closed with special plugs. The wood of the finished chair is impregnated with hot linseed oil or stain, dried, varnished in several layers. You can opt for a special furniture varnish, but the most durable coating is in parquet or yacht varieties.

Rocking chair design

This chair can be used both in the garden and at home. By expanding the seat, it is possible to make not a chair, but a whole bench on which several people can fit. For manufacturing you will need:

Seat assembly diagram.

  • electric jigsaw;
  • grinder;
  • wood drills of different diameters;
  • screwdriver;
  • square;
  • roulette;
  • pencil;
  • plywood;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • confirms;
  • reiki.

If the rocking chair is made by hand from start to finish, it is better to use high-quality materials so as not to spoil the work.

Making a rocking chair

The sides of the chair with a rounded bottom are cut out according to the developed pattern in the first place. They should be completely identical, and there should be no protruding corners on the bottom of them. Then a bar for the seat and back is cut, the quantity and length of which must be calculated separately for each model. The surface of each bar is sanded and polished, the corners are smoothed. If you plan to use the chair outside, you need to pay special attention to the ends of the boards. They are varnished at least 3 times, since it is there that the wood is especially loose and needs protection from atmospheric influences. To protect outdoor and garden furniture from destruction, the ends are impregnated with hot linseed oil several times, and the fibers are flattened with a hammer.

The sides are pulled together to the required size with several tsars, drilling through the sidewalls. Then holes are drilled at the ends for fastening the bars. The bars themselves are also drilled in advance to avoid cracks during operation. It is more convenient to fasten the bars not between the sidewalls, but on top, slightly going beyond the contour. This rocking chair has more space and looks neater. Each screw should then be covered with an antiseptic and a plug should be placed on top. After that, the product is finished with waterproof types of varnishes, with each layer drying for at least 12 hours. Layers are put at least 3, coat with a thick layer, trying not to leave gaps. Only then can the rocking chair be considered ready.

You can buy any things in modern stores. A little imagination, a mouse and keyboard with Internet access, how a huge number of offers from social networks and online stores will fall on your computer. It also happens that the financial situation is not the most prosperous, and purchases in online stores are considered luxury items. And sometimes you just want to do something with your own hands, they itch. Here is a small selection of examples of how you can make some furniture with your own hands.

DIY bean bag

In the first example, we will look at the manufacture of frameless furniture, the most popular thing in stores today is a bag chair. A photo of the armchair with your own hands is presented below.

Material cost for one beanbag chair is $ 40. This includes: polystyrene balls (filler), inner cover, outer cover.

First, the inner cover is sewn and filled with foam balls, then the outer one. Then we just insert the inner cover into the outer one and you get a ready-made chair bag.

The most difficult thing is to collect the balls in a bag, they just try to jump out of it, I had to use a vacuum cleaner. This is a short instruction on how to make a do-it-yourself bag chair.

DIY home chair

Now consider making an ordinary home chair with your own hands. Unfortunately, we got quite a few photos, there was no time to take pictures. We managed to capture the main milestones in a timely manner by switching from a tedious workflow.

I wanted to get just an ordinary chair, and not just some incomprehensible rookery. So that it is strong and stable, like store options. I had to look at the types and drawings of the chairs on the Internet in order to correctly assemble my structure. I suggest you immediately see the photos of the very process of assembling the chair.

At the first stage, the base frame for the future chair is made in the form of a semicircle. Chipboard with timber is used. The base of the chair is 10 centimeters thick. This will be just enough to secure the walls. And the uprights have the same end function.

Hardboard was perfect for the back, and plywood for the front wall. I traced all the curves and outlines of the future chair by eye from the remaining wallpaper. Children’s wooden blocks were used for the base.

In the next step, I started to glue the cardboard to fill the interior. In the process of work, even the glue had to be changed, the initially selected PVA did not fit. The walls swelled and became like a waffle, the glue was replaced with ordinary wood glue. It turned out to be the best choice of all. There was even an idea for a rocking chair with my own hands, but I will implement the idea a little later.

After looking at the photo, you can immediately easily figure out how the finished walls were obtained. I used an ordinary knife for leveling, the material is easy to cut and gives in to deformation.

At the next stage, work with glue moment and foam rubber, glue the entire surface with a layer of foam rubber, do not leave any bald spots and uncovered places. A cover must be sewn onto a monotonous surface.

Well, we have reached the final stage when we pull on the cover and get a beautiful finished chair. The product turned out to be very heavy, but it will be completely safe for children, can be attributed to the pluses. As for the fabric used, nothing was bought anywhere. Used scraps and leftovers from sewing at home.

We wanted to get temporary furniture, no one planned to make an armchair for centuries. The sitchik on the armrests, despite the good tacking with glue, will peel off over time. If we say a little about the design of the chair, then it turned out to be simply indestructible.

Chair made of plastic bottles

What people do not do from plastic bottles. And rafts in his youth, and bird feeders in kindergarten. This material has excellent inclinations for creativity.

Plastic bottles are a real find; in ordinary life, brooches, scoops, curtains and buckets are made from them. They are used to decorate flower beds, they are laid out instead of pipes, and a hanging chair is made.

We wanted to try to make a chair out of bottles, why not? At first it all started with great enthusiasm for collecting bottles, and then everyone realized that there was simply nowhere to store them in such quantities in a small home area of the room.

Even at the initial stage of storage, it immediately became clear that the necks of the bottles were not needed, more precisely, in half of the bottles. We decided to stack them in blocks of two bottles, carefully cutting off the throat and fastening 2 pieces to each other. One had the neck cut off, turned over and inserted into the second bottle. Of course, a wooden chair looks much more attractive and solid.

For the complete manufacture of the chair, it was necessary to collect about 90 bottles, fasten them together with adhesive tape, and cover them with stretch film on top. It will not be possible to tell about the whole process of assembling the chair; at the time of this writing, the chair was ready-made.

Briefly, we can say that you should not regret attaching the bottles of scotch tape, because when assembling, they can simply diverge from each other, you will have to spend a lot of time in order to remake the structure later. In this regard, I had to resort to stretch film and modify the chair to the final stage.
