Installation instructions for outdoor hours. Designer Large DIY Wall Clock Why make the clock do it yourself, if you can buy

DIY - Do it Yourself, do it yourself, i.e. Do not immediately hang and ready, but I will have to work a little hands, but you can configure to your liking.
I like big wall clocks and everything is there.
These can be made in diameter up to 1.2m (and even more :)

We arrived in a box of quite impressive sizes: 43cm * 15cm * 6cm

What is inside:

Instructions on terrible google English, good in color pictures everything is clear.

Dial something like a lid from the kettle :)
Metal, diameter 12cm.
Behind the mechanism as on many wall clock, it feeds from one AA.

Set of numbers, yellow paper is removed, under it adhesive surface, from the front side, a certain foamed material, as on many mats for the mouse, only thicker.

The set of the same numbers that the rear side is placed with paper, under it the adhesive surface, the front side is a brilliant mirror plastic, covered with a film that needs to be removed.

By idea, these numbers should be pasted on those numbers, and you can get two independent digits :)
Here is such a kamasutra.

Figures of different sizes from 6 to 9cm in height and up to 12 cm wide.
The arrows are two: hour and minute, there is no second one.
They are also quite large, hourly 31cm, minute 39cm.
Material Metal like aluminum, on the counterweight of each arrow of the shipyan Georgic, so that the arrows on the weight are felt by severe.
The arrows are barely noticeable film that you need to remove.

Also in the set of paper tools for convenient markup of the installation locations of numbers and some more fasteners for the central mechanism, which, as I understood, you need to score into the wall.

We begin to install.
We use complete tools for marking.
On the site eloquent photographs of the installation process.

Prepare nails, because Films and paper, we will have to ridge quite a lot.
You can stay on the first layer of numbers and leave them black, it will be great to look at the light background of wallpaper, but aluminum color arrows will not be very combined with numbers.
Here is half the numbers are still black.

So I went to the end and stuck everything that was put.

It must be said that the clock looks very elegant thanks to the mirror surface of the numbers. Do not look at the wallpaper, it is old so far for experiments.
Installation size Choose yourself, too small - the numbers will be closely glued and the arrows will apply further to them, too large - the arrows will not get it and it will be difficult to determine the time.
I have the diameter of the clock turned out to be 90cm.
I pasted the numbers in my own way, I like it more when they are located vertically, and do not leans in a circle.
What the clock lacks, so this is a second hand, it would be clearly visible on it or not.
The clock is not smooth, and the discrete, when you click each second, the minute arrow is shifted. In complete silence, a quiet noise of clocks is heard. Who is inclined to wake up from flying flies in the next room - they are not for you.
The accuracy of the progress is normal, I can not say until a second, because There are no seconds, but in minutes go absolutely accurately.

Outcome: hours are very pleased with what you wish you!

Hooray! I am officially shoemaker with boots. I looked around how participants in our master class in the needle did wall clocks, and now (not half a year and half a year) in our kitchen there appeared a tropical keeper of time.

In early May, the master class was held in our needle, where we did the wall clock with their own hands. The idea of \u200b\u200bVorkshop arose in January, and it was very nice to implement it. Here, very by the way, the clock was broken in the kitchen, which I have long broke out. Compatible pleasant with useful. First, I made a new device to determine the time, secondly, an article for the blog, and thirdly - the tropical decor beloved by me this summer.

Why make the clock do it yourself, if you can buy

And so it is clear that made with your own hands, it is with a soul and from the soul. Perhaps purchased will be shall and with a guarantee, but the advantages to make the wall clock with their own hands more:

  • you can implement any idea (for example, as mine with tropics)
  • choose exactly the size that needs
  • find the right arrows and mechanism
  • start a little better to understand how the wall clock is arranged
  • proudly report to everyone that you made them yourself (and this is not just a postcard or flower, but a whole device).

What makes a dial for wall clocks

Thinking about the panel under the dial, it is worth remembering that the clock can be not only round, but also triangular, square, even in the form of a flower.

  • Panel can be ordered in a laser cutting workshop
  • find and buy prepared from plywood in the online store or in a store with needlework goods
  • make from cork substrate or tight thick cardboard
  • cut from plasterboard
  • make a drink
  • or from the vinyl record.

How to decorate wall clock

Ways to decorate wall clock mass, it all depends on your desire to create and bother.

  • You can print and glue the finished picture.
  • apply drawing acrylic paints
  • draw something watercolor, cut and glue
  • glue volumetric parts from thin plywood
  • embroider anything on the fabric and cover the workpiece
  • you can draw or glue numbers.

Wall clock - materials and tools

Time spent - one and a half hours. We will need:

  • round panel of plywood diameter 30 cm
  • clock mechanism with arrows
  • paper and pencil
  • rule
  • acrylic paints and tassels
  • palette for mixing paints
  • pliers
  • scissors.

Wall clock with their own hands - work

The mechanism can be ordered in the online store or use the remaining old hours. There is a couple of moments to pay attention to:

  • Thickness of the dial
  • thread diameter (must approach the hole diameter in the middle of the panel)
  • and the sprock height (funeral on, which is still holding, and on which arrows dressed).

For example, in my mechanism of the rod height of only 8 mm, it means that the thickness of the plywood blank should not exceed 4 mm, otherwise there is not enough space to spin the nut. The best overall height of the stock is 16 mm, and the height of the thread is 9 mm. Such a mechanism is suitable for most wooden blanks.

If there are volumetric parts on the dial, you need to make sure that the arrows will not be cling.

1. Before you start making wall clock with your own hands, you need to decide where the number is 12. To do this, turn over the panel, insert the clockwork, outline the middle of the vertex of the mechanism (it will coincide with the middle of the cape) and carry out a perpendicular line. It is from here that the count will begin and the distance between the numbers will be marked (if they are planned).

2. We take a sheet of paper, supply the dial contour on it and draw the decor. It is useful in order to see, harmoniously looks like a composition before it is too late to change something. I re CRED on the paper contours of the leaves, then cut out and moved to the plywood blank using a pencil.

3. Color the workpiece in accordance with the decor. I used a white construction acrylic, an artistic acrylic and a color paste for a tinting.

4. When the paint is driving, screw the clock mechanism. It may have many details that can be used or ignore depending on the thickness of the dial. Usually, the assembly scheme is attached to the hourly mechanism, which I advise you to adhere to. We ride a rubber substrate on the rod and apply to the dial from the reverse side. The top (middle of the peels) should coincide with the pencil margin (see paragraph 1).

5. I turn over the workpiece with a puck and tighten the nut. Here we need pliers so that you can be tightened tightly.

6. We ride the arrows. By the way, the arrows I repainted from white to black. There are also two points here. First, on the arrows there may be a protective film that you need to remove. Secondly, the black art acrylic was not very good for metal, so I had to first challenge the arrows with a construction white acrylic, and then after drying it was black.

Before rolling, you need to make sure that all the arrows are straight. First we ride the hour, then minute. The second dresses the latter. They are rolled to easy click. It is important not to rearrange and not too diligent, so as not to break the gentle fasteners. Arrows should be strictly parallel to each other and do not touch, otherwise the clock simply will not go.

7. I exhibit all the arrows at 12 o'clock according to the mark, insert the battery and configure the correct time using a special wheel that can be found on the reverse side mechanism.

A couple of evenings, one and a half hours - and I gladly launched my time. Take care of your time, spend it with those who give you joy!

Best,

A few words about outdoor hours

Elegant weights and mechanical clock peters perform not just a decorative function. Designed on the canons of classical design, they also control and regulate the work of each outdoor hours.

Giri provide energy all outdoor hours. Each weighting performs its specific function - in conventional hours with three weights, the time, the battle every hour and every 15 minutes is carried out due to the energy of lowering the weight during the 7-8 day cycle. The plant is carried out either by lifting the weight, or by means of a clockwork key, or manually.

Swing pendulum controls the clock. Since the shorter pendulum swings more frequently, the longer, in every pendulum there is a regulator who is either over, or under the pendulum hitch. It can be rotated and move your jam up or down, changing the center of oscillation and, thus, changing the length of the pendulum itself.

The watch play every hour and every 15 minutes. This is due to the shocks of the hammers on special saucers or cylinders. All of them differ in size to achieve a certain sound. The melody consists of a given sequence and rhythm, with which each hammer strikes the corresponding saucer, cylinder or bell.

Select a place for your watches

When choosing a place for your watches, the following should be taken into account:

1. For optimal work, your clock must be installed on a flat, sustainable surface.
2. Avoid setting the clock on the straight sunlight. The surface of the clock, which gets the most light, can burn or other defects may appear.
3. Avoid setting the clock next to radiators or air conditioners. Through air conditioners, dust always passes, as well as cold or hot air, so the clocks in the immediate vicinity are needed for their unmistakable work it is necessary to clean and lubricate more often.
4. Avoid setting the clock too close with kitchen plates or fireplaces. They are very hot and dry air, which can lead to the fact that the wooden body will fuse, and cracks will appear on it. In addition, oil in the clock needed to lubricate the mechanism can quickly evaporate.
5. The size of the room and the number of furniture in it will affect the volume of the battle and melody. The clock installed on the wooden floor will play louder than the clock installed on the carpet in the room with heavy curtains.
6. As far as possible, do not put the watch on the aisle, especially if there are small children in the house. Vibrationitchiks can affect the operation of the mechanisms.

Attention : Make sure you pulled out the key after locked the door. Keep it in a safe place. Traditionally, the key will be lazy on the clock.

Unpacking

Check carefully packaging to make sure that nothing is damaged:

1. Giri and their mounts (packed at the base of the clock)
2. Pendulum (packed in a separate box attached inside cardboard packaging or by hours)
3. Cylinders (if you ordered a cylindrical musical mechanism, cylinders will be packed in a separate cardboard packaging)
4. Carved protruding parts of the top of the clock (if there is your model), the crushing key (for models with the plant key), the key from the door, is all packaged separately. If you have glass shelves in your clock, they will also be invested in this packaging.

1. After unpacking your watches, set them next to the place where they will stand constantly.

2. With maximum caution (preferably alone) Tilt the clock to make sure that all four level controls easily move up and down. You adjust them when you set the clock at the location of the location.

3. Set the clock at the location of their permanent location and align them using the level controllers located at the bottom of the clock. Then check with a level, even if you installed the clock. Small errors will be smoothed by self-regulators built into our hourly mechanisms. The main thing is to make sure that the clock is steadily standing on all four level regulators.

If your clocks stand on the carpet surface, after the "shrinkage", they will need to regulate that the watch stood smoothly.

Installation of decorative elements

(if they are attached)

Top of your watches are drilled holes suitable for the size of the installation pins of decorative elements. Just insert the pin in the hole and lower it until it stops. If you will slightly rotate the decorative element from the side to the side, you will be easier to lower it down.

Attention: Your watches can have several decorative elements.

Access to the mechanism

There are four different ways to access the clock mechanism. Choose a suitable method specifically for your clocks.

Removed lateral insert (wooden or glass)

1. Remove the scotch.
2. Finger tips take over the planks of a wooden insert or a glass insert handle.
3. Raise.
4. Tilt the bottom insertion insertion.
5. Lower the insert until it fails completely.
6. Turn the insert at the angle and remove it from the clock through the side opening.
7. After installing your clock, return the insert to the place following the same procedure in the reverse order.

Hinged side doors

On each of the door installed limiters on the loops that will not allow you to open them too wide, so as not to damage the housing of the clock. Do not try to open the doors completely in order not to damage the loops.

Closed sidewalls

1. Turn the clock so that the rear wall is visible.
2. Unscrew the four screws that hold the upper back wall.
3. Carefully remove the rear wall to gain access to the clock mechanism.

Preparation of hours to work

Unpacking of a clockwork mechanism

Power hammers are packaged for safe transportation in foam, or with a tape.

Remove the tape or foam with hammers.

Remove the foam or cardboard with cylinders for battle. Do not clean Foam from pulleys. It must be removed after the weights are installed, the pendulum and watches will work 24 hours.

Unpacking and installation of pendulum

The pendulum is packed in a separate box, which is attached from the inside of the clock box, or attached to the cluster of the clock. Be careful when opening the box to avoid damage to the pendulum.

It is important to wear cotton gloves or take a soft cloth when contact with copper elements.

Remove the protective film from the pendulum before hanging it.

Check the pendulum from the back. Both parts of the hook-fasteners of the pendulum must enter both holes-fastening of the pendulum holder. If this did not happen, you need to withdraw the pendulum.

Carefully install the pendulum on the pendulum holder. It has a small protrusion located at the top of the pendulum, which can be broken when the holder is rotated or sharp movements. Having hanging the pendulum, hold the holder with the left hand in a vertical position. Hang the pendulum on the holder.

If the pendulum does not move, he should hang right in the center. If this is not the case, check the clock exactly. Also make sure the pendulum holder hangs straight. If it is bent, take one hand for the top of the pendulum, and the other for the pendulum hitch and carefully turn until the pendulum is hanging straight.

Attention:Outdoor watches may have either a classic pendulum in the form of a lira, or an elegant pendulum in the form of sticks. The installation procedure is the same for both types of pendulum.

Your clock with a plant with a key

Giri.

Most models use 3 weights. Each weight must be installed correctly for the work of the clock. Each hiring is a sticker indicating its position (left, central, right).

Giri need to hang, put on the glove or taking a soft cloth.

Do not remove the foam, sweat weights on the cable. After 24 hours, remove the foam.

The weights provide a clock with energy for the battle (left weight), stroke (central) and to play melodies (right). Without these weights, the clock will not work.

Make sure the cable is well wound on the pulley. The loops should freely hang below the pulley. Before hanging the weights, tighten the hook on the top, and the nut is on the bottom of the weight. Suspend every weight on the loop in the correct order.

Plant your watches using the key

Giri provide clock necessary for energy. In order for the clock to work continuously, you need to start the clock, raising the weights every seven or eight days.

The clockwork key is packaged separately, do not lose it.

1.Tore the clockwork in turn in each of the three holes located on the clock clock. Slowly turn it clockwise until you feel resistance. Do not worry that you can "reboot" the clock - a special mechanism will not allow this.

2. In the Watch factory, do not touch the weights. This will cause excessive voltage in the cable and can lead to overhearson on the coil for the cable and stop the clock.

3. If you plan to leave home more than a week, stop the pendulum before your return.

Attention:On some mechanisms, two outdoor weights that are responsible for the fight and the melody are not lowered when the clock is in a quiet mode or on automatic night disconnection. Even if the clock is set to battle mode, weights can descend unevenly. This is normal when one of the weights is slightly higher or lower. The clock will still work correctly.

Your clock with a plant based on the principle of weights

Most of the hours are used three weights. Each weight should be installed in the correct position to work properly. Each weight has a sticker indicating its position - left, central and right.

Giri ensure the work of the hourly battle (left weight), give energy for the course of hours (central weight) and for the operation of the melody (right weight). The clock will not work without a weight.

Before installing the Giri, make sure that cotton gloves can be put on you or you have a soft cloth at hand.

Having the right side of the right side on the right side (provided that if you are standing face to the clock).

Clock Plant with Gir

Giri provide clock necessary for energy. For long hours, you need to start the clock, regularly raising the weights. Usually, the clock mechanism has a chain length, so that the weights can fall within 8 days (hence the term "eight day clock"), but the duration of the plant's time may depend on the design of the hull or the type of mechanism used.

1. Use the free end of the chain with one hand, while the other hand hold the chain just above the weights. When you pull the free end of the chain down, at the same time slightly lift the other end. Do not allow the chain to be saved.

2. Under the end of the chain pull down. You may want to pull the chain on yourself. Avoid this, because This can lead to the disclosure of the chain links and, ultimately, to its cliff.

3. Mentally and smoothly raise the weight. Dergali chain or unexpected release of weights can also damage the chain.

4. If you are going to have no homes for a long time, stop the pendulum before your return.

Attention:on some mechanisms, two external weights that are responsible for fighting and melody are not lowered when the clock is in a quiet mode or in the automatic night shutdown mode. Even if the clock is in the melody mode, the weights can descend unevenly. This is normal if one gyre is slightly higher or slightly lower than the other. The clock will work true.

Remember !!To work with copper weights, use gloves or soft fabric.

Your watch with a cylindrical battle mechanism

Unpacking cylindrical combat mechanisms

After you have gained access to the mechanism, you will see the hammers for the battle in the protective package.

Carefully remove the hammers from corrugated paper to avoid damage to the strings attached to them.

Open the door on the left side of the clock. You will see a red screw on the left side of the mechanism. It is intended only for transportation and to protect the combat mechanism. Unscrew and save it in case you need to carry clock.

Installation of the cylinders of the battle

1. To make sure that you have cotton gloves or you have a soft fabric. This is very important when working with musical components.

2. Reflect the battle cylinders before hanging on a special holder.

3. Fight cylinders are hanging on the protrusions located on the back side of the holder plate.

4. Right from the longest cylinder, install all cylinders on holders, strictly starting on the left side. Taking one cylinder, place it in an hourly compartment through the front door. Then open the side door to lift and hang the cylinder on the holder. Make sure the cylinders do not come into contact with each other, and hang in parallel.

Running pendulum

1. After installing the pendulum, open the front door and take the pendulum hitch.

2. Move the pendulum to the right or left until it is practically touched before the side wall. After that release it. Leave the clock for a few minutes, until the pendulum becomes evenly. You must hear a distinct sound "Tik-so."

If the sound is not quite clear, then the move is not installed. You must stop the pendulum and repeat the procedure. If the sound has improved, but not enough, you should repeat the procedure again, but this time you move the pendulum to the other side of the case (for example, if you first move the pendulum to the right, then you move it left next time).

Installing the lunar disk

The lunar dial corresponds to the lunar month, and not calendar. The lunar month lasts 29 and ½ days. If the clock works constantly, the lunar dial will automatically follow the moon phases. If the clock is stopped, you will have to reinstall the lunar dial.

1. Using a soft glove or cloth, touch the dial on the dial and, slightly pressing, rotate the moon disk to the right (clockwise) until the center of the moon is at the mark "15" on the dial.

2. Operate in the calendar the last date of the full moon. Count the number of days, including the current day, from the last full moon.

3. Using a soft cloth or glove, turn the moon disk to the right (clockwise). One click corresponds to the 24-hour day of the lunar month. For example, if 6 days after the full moon, you turn the disk for 6 clicks. On some dials, you may not hear clicks, in this case it will be necessary to turn the dial on 6 lunar days - each mark on the arc corresponds to the lunar day.

4. If you twist the lunar disk, or the clock for one reason or another stopped, just re-start from the "1" paragraph of this manual.

5. If you have any difficulties with a turn of a lunar disk or he turns hard: Open the door or remove the cover on the left side, provided that you are standing face to the clock. If you look at the back side of the dial, you will see the spring. Make sure that the spring is located correctly on the brown of the lunar dial. If the spring is not on its position, simply raise the spring from the dial holder and free it.

Attention:If you are trying to install the moon, and it moves with difficulty, the dial is possible in the process of changing the phases of the moon. This usually takes 6-8 hours. You will have to wait a few hours before re-trying to install the lunar phase.

Setting Time

1. Install the clock to the "no sound" position (without combat and music).

2. Install the exact time by moving a minute (long) arrow by, or counterclockwise (as you comfortable). Move the arrow slowly and smoothly. Try not to touch the clock (short) arrow, the more you should not move it during the time setting.

3. The hours of the clock has a function of self-regulation, which synchronizes the battle with time. It may take 2-3 hours. Do not move the arrows during the battle.

4. To select the desired battle mode.

Attention:Leave hours for 2-3 hours before making additional time adjustment. If after three hours the clock beat the wrong hour, see the section "Troubleshooting - watches beat the wrong hour - synchronization."

Melody and Boy

The melody sounds every 15 minutes, the fight beat off every hour hour.

Depending on the mechanism model, various options for controlling the melody and the battle are possible. For control, levers located on the left, right or on both sides are used. The purpose of the levers is indicated on the sticker or plate near the lever. The value of the inscriptions is indicated in the following table.

Left lever.

Right lever.

Option Inscription Description
1 Westm. Silent. Melody Westminster Melody is disabled
2 Whitt. ST. Vich. Westm. Melody whittington melody St. Michael Melody Westminster

Night off Disabled night mode
5 SILENT NIGHT OFF Strike Melody and battle disabled Night Melody Westminster Melody and Fight Every Small Hour

Night mode

When this mode is selected, your watch will automatically turn off the melody and battle from 22-00 to 07-15. If the melody and the battle are turned off at 10-00 and are included in 19-15, then simply translate the time for 12 hours ( arrow rotate back).

Rearming the levers, make sure that they are in a fixed, not an intermediate position. You can not switch the levers during the sounding of the melody, wait for it to end.

Troubleshooting

Although we do not advise you to repair the clock yourself, here are those situations that need to check before contact your seller or master. Do not try to make changes in which you are unsure.

If your clock does not go or stopped ...

1. Check, whether all packaging materials were removed, including tape, which is used to protect the pendulum screw during transportation. (The screw of the pendulum is located behind the mechanism.)

2. Check the clock location. They must stand smoothly and safely.

3. The cleanness of all time arrows is very important for the work of the clock. If your clock has a second arrow, see if it hurts the ring minute arrow. If so, then you need to carefully pull the second arrow as much as sufficient to free the space for it.

4.Tore the clock! Sometimes the pendulum is not routing enough to activate the rhythm of the clock.

5. Check if Giri weigh correctly. Check the bottom of each weight, whether they are correctly located.

6. Check whether the Giri is properly attached to the chains and to the pulley.

7. Check, whether all the Giri are correctly headed.

8. Check the lunar dial to make sure that it does not cause any restrictions. The dial spring is usually bronze, in the form of a long strip; It is attached to the stand on the lunar dial. If it is in front or rear, just pull it back and put it in place. The spring is located on the back side of the dial, inside the clock.

9. Check, did not slip by accidentally pulled from the cable, or the chain from the chain ring.

Your watch does not beat ...

1. For safety when transporting hammers are tape. Check if it was removed.

2. Bess, that the selection lever is set to the right position on one of the battle modes, and not in a quiet position or between the modes.

3.If there is a function of automatic disconnection of the battle overnight ("ANSO") (the lever in the upper position), and the clocks are beaten at night, and silent in the afternoon, it means you need to translate the time forward by moving the minute arrow only clockwise by 12 hours. (Fight selection lever during the procedure should be in a quiet position.)

4. If the hour arrow does not match the battle, just smoothly turn the watch arrow forward or back to the desired hour. It won't hurt the clock.

5. Bessing that weights were attached in the correct order: left, central and right.

6. If you just finished installing your watches, wait 1-2 hours. The mechanism is automatically synchronized.

7. Check, all the packaging material has been removed from the mechanism area.

If the pendulum does not swing straight

The pendulum must be parallel to the front side of the clock.

If it's not about this, take the LIRA directly over the pendulum of the pendulum with one hand, and the top of the pendulum is different, and turn the pendulum in the opposite direction so that it is leveled.

If your watch is rushing or behind ...

Time is regulated by the location of the pendulum on the pendulum itself. Changing the speed is achieved by moving the mood up or down.

To increase speed Rotate the round knob to the right (clockwise) to lift the pendulum hide.

To reduce speed Turn the round knob to the left (counterclockwise) to lower the pendulum hitch. We recommend that you make several turns counterclockwise so that the pendulum is noticeably dropped. This will help you adjust the time with greater accuracy.

When adjusting time, hold the pendulum with one hand, while the other turn the knob to the regulator. If the pendulum disk moves with difficulty, remove the pendulum and check the opposite direction of the pendulum. Both parts of the hook-fasteners of the pendulum must enter both holes-fastening of the pendulum holder. If this did not happen, you need to withdraw the pendulum.

Attention:One full rotation of the knob of the regulator corresponds to half a minute for 24 hours.

Remember: Time adjustment - this is your duty, not the responsibility of your seller or service center employees.

If your watch beat the wrong hour (synchronization) ...

Your watch was synchronized before shipping. You do not have to make adjustment if only the hour arrow moved by chance when setting time.

If the hourly fight and time do not coincide, you will have to adjust them. If, for example, the clock is shown 4:00, and you beat another number of times, then:

1. Do disconnect the battle.

2. Winter the watch (short) arrow clockwise or counterclockwise, as more convenient for you, slowly to the hour, which beat the clock. For example, if the clock beat only three times, move the time arrow smoothly to the three clock. You will notice that the hour arrow turns out regardless of the minute.

3. Turn the minute (long) arrow is slowly clock or counterclockwise, as more convenient for you, until the right time is established. Be careful not to hook the watch arrow when you turn the minute.

4. Now the battle and melody will be installed in the correct order. It will take about 1-2 hours.

Remember:This is not an adjustment of time (lag or rush clock). This adjustment is only necessary if the clock beat an incorrect number once at a given hour.

If your watches beat incorrectly (adjustment of the minute arrows) ...

This adjustment is made if your watch starts to beat not exactly an hour, and two minutes before or after an hour.

Attention: When performing this adjustment, be careful not to scratch the dial, arrows or switch screw.

1. When the clock starts to beat, stop the pendulum and remember the time.

2. With the help of tweezers carefully remove a small screw that holds a minute arrow in place by turning the screw against a clockwise arrow, at the same time hold the minute hand with your fingers near a small screw.

3. Take the arrow from the shooting axis by taking it with your fingers in the place where the arrow connects to the axis. Pull the arrow on yourself. It should be easily removed, because It is unscrewed. The minute arrow has a small raised area on the back side, right around the axial opening. This is an arrow insulator. With the help of tweezers, it's good to hold the insulator from two sides so that it does not slip with the tongs. With the other hand, turn the watch arrow forward or back as much as necessary to set the right time corresponding to battle.

4. Expose the arrow to the axis and screw the arrow screw with your fingers. Make sure the arrow indicates the right time you remember in paragraph 1, taking into account all the adjustments that were produced in paragraph 3.

5.If arrow does not specify the right time, repeat items 2 or 3.

6. Take the arrow screw with the help of tweezers, but do not overdo it.

7. Put the pendulum.

8. Mount the time by moving only the minute arrow clockwise (counterclockwise) arrow until the right time is set.

9. If then, the clock does not beat exactly per hour, repeat the procedure.

If the fight is wrong

The tone of the battle is directly dependent on the location of the hammers. The hammer is a lever associated with the mechanism and the mechanism. These hammers fall and beat the appropriate cylinder. The hammers are adjusted and listened before shipping, but transportation and treatment may reflect on the disorder of the hammer.

Hammers are most often used in outdoor hours. They are flexible and made of copper. Hammers in a calm position cannot be further than 1.5 - 2mm from cylinders. In a calm position, they can produce a deaf sound only because the hammers remain on the cylinder and do not allow it to vibrate. To adjust, just pull the hammer back by taking it for the base and moving the slightly section so that the distance of 1.5 - 2mm has been achieved. Avoid bending cylinders.

Baby cylinders are made of copper and cannot be subject to adjustment. Hammers are installed at the factory and cannot be curved in any way. They can, however, be corrected in a calm position by turning the corresponding screw to achieve a quiet position in 1/16 "- 1/8" between the hammer and the cylinder.

Make sure all cylinders are placed on the holder correctly. If you are standing face to the clock, the longest cylinder must be located on the left, and the short one is right.

If the lunar dial / disk does not turn ...

The clockwork has a detail that contains the wheel to rotate the moon disk. Every 23 ½ hour wheel performs a complete turn, during this time the axis of this wheel promotes the lunar disk for one lunar day. When the lunar disk is located in the 6-hour "transition" period, the axis is occupied, and in this period it is impossible to manually change the position of the disk. To release the moon disk, rearrange the time until the disk is free, it will take 6 hours. This is not a malfunction, it is a matter of time.

If the lunar disk does not move several days and seems to be on the spot, then the most likely cause can be what spring cannot move from one tooth to another. If it is in this, you need to adjust the spring. In general, the smaller the pressure of the spring puts on the lunar disk, the faster the spring passes from one tooth to another. If the pressure is too large, the spring cannot jump on another teeth, even if the axis moves the disk correctly.

If the weights do not move evenly

When automatic shutdown overnight actively (top position), and / or on some models, the "Silent" mode is selected ("silence"), the weighting gius in the time will sink faster than others.

This is normal and is not a defect.

What can and what can not be done

NOT Move watch arrows during battle

NOT Move the hour arrow; This will automatically move the minute arrow. ATTENTION: If the hour arrow does not match the battle, see the item "If your watch beat the wrong hour (synchronization) ..."

NOT Change the battle mode during clock battle

NOT Stick Giri with the key key

NOT Create a clock without mounted

NOT Move the clock with the weights installed and the pendulum

Moving hours to a new place within your home

Moving hours is not recommended and must be made only in necessary cases. If you decide to move the clock, follow the following instructions to prevent possible problems. Remember, use a soft fabric or glove to handle the weights, pendulum and cylinders.

1. Wait until the clock plant will not end - the weights will be in the lower position.

2. Sustain the pendulum.

3. Dress Giri and put them in a safe place.

4. Cylinders (from a cylindrical musical mechanism) and put them in a safe place.

5. When moving the clock to a new place, keep them always in a vertical position. Align the floor surface if necessary.

6. Put the cylinders, the pendulum and Giri while the clock is still in the wrong condition. After installing the weights, get the clock and set the time.

Do not start a clock without a weight. This can cause chain scrap with a chain wheel (on the chain mechanism), and the back of the cable (on the mechanism with a key plant).

Moving hours for a new place

When preparing movement of clocks for longer distances, we recommend contacting one of our authorized watchmakers to assist in the package of hours. If it is impossible, we offer you to return to the procedure for unpacking the clock and do the same in the reverse order.

How to care for the closet

Your watch will require you not so much attention. However, there are several rules that should be performed to maintain the beauty of the clusters of the watch.

1. Periodically check whether the clock is firm on all four supports. It is especially important if the clock is located on the carpet. Because Clock legs rest in the carpet, it can take them out of equilibrium.

2. The full clock is covered, usually catalyzed varnish, which protects the tree, so wiping with a simple soft cloth will be sufficient.

3. Printing glass Avoid getting any cleaning agent for copper surfaces. Spray the cleaner for glass on a soft cloth and then wipe the glass surface. Never spray the tool right on the housing of the watch or copper.

How to care for the mechanism

1. Do not apply any cleaning agent, polishing, water, etc. on copper parts of your watches. If you think that cleaning is needed, use a rag that does not contain flax.

2. ask your watch masters about further care mechanisms. Since the mechanical parts of your watches can affect humidity, heat or cold, the time of lubrication or cleaning may differ in various locals.

3. It is necessary that the professional lubricates your watch every 3-4 years.

Do not try to clean or lubricate the mechanism if you are not a qualified master. Do not use the grease-spray for the mechanism, or any other oil!

4. Check the weights from time to time as tightly they are tight.

For the future, keep the instructions near your watch. Minor adjustments and precaution will extend the service life of your watches for many years. If your clock happened to what is not covered by this instruction, do not try to disassemble or repair the clock yourself - unless you are a qualified watchmaker. The mechanism and dial of the clock today are the best in the world. But this is a mechanical clock, periodically need to clean them and lubricate. If your o'clock requires service, you should call the wizard that installed you hours.

History of lunar dial

One of the most common questions among new owners of the clock is: "What is the purpose of the lunar dial, and what do pictures and symbols mean?" The question itself already tells us how much has changed in this world.

It is now very difficult to imagine how important there were previously changing phases of the moon. At the end of the 17th century, the lunar dial was added to most hours so that people could plan the days in advance when the full moon is for the night journey to be so risky. The watch masters sought to recreate and predict the appearance of the moon, in each of its phases, on the clock clock.

The arcuate dial was first used in the early 18th century and was a real breakthrough among the watchmakers. Around 1720, the moving numbers appeared on it - the numbers that moved back and forth with the movement of the pendulum. Among them were galloping deer, swinging ships and grandfather time with oblique. At that time there was no practical value in this function of hours. It was made just for beauty.

After the moving figurines added to the arch over the dial, the next step was the reflection of the moon phases. Many dials began to use the well-known lunar man in the form of a circle, divided by half: a person's face on one half, and the landscape of the moon on another half of the circle. The swinging ship was often used as a symbol of the sea, and the deer is like a symbol of the Earth.

Now in the modern world, moving figures on the dial play a decorative role rather than useful, but still this feature is in demand.

Many signs associated with the moon and its influence are tracked. Among them:

Clean the house into the dark moon, and there will be no moths or spiders in the house.

Trees planted in full moon will be fertile.

Plant peas and potatoes are needed during the growth period of the moon.

The meat of animals killed in a growing moon will not dry during cooking or canning.

The amount of snow in the winter is determined by the number of days from the first snow in the fall until the next full moon.

Blood should be stacked in a decreasing moon (between the full moon and the new moon) so that the roof is placed when the horn of the moon is turned down, then it will not be deformed and climb. The same applies to wooden paths.

History of Boy

Westminster Boy

Westminster is the most famous fight in the world. Almost every person, Westminster battle is associated with the Victorian watch tower of the House of Parliament in London.

However, initially, he corresponded to the clock of the University Church of St. Mary Great in Cambridge, England. Words for this beautiful melody were borrowed from Handel Symphony "

Whittingtonian battle

The famous Whittington battle was borrowed from the Church of St. Mary Le Bow in Chipside, London. The legend is as follows: Dick Whittington, ran away from the house, where he didn't touch him, but he returned, hearing the fight, who spoke to him, "Return - Whittington, London Mayor." Dick returned and in the future three times held the mayor of London.

The battle Saint- Michael

This one of the most famous combat melodies is closely related to America. The first bells that were taking this melody were cast in London and installed in 1764 in the Church of St. Michael in Charleston, South Korolin. When the British took this city during the revolution, they removed the bells and sent them back to England. A rich trader from Charleston discovered them in England, bought and sent back to America. In 1823, cracked were found on some bells and they were again sent to London to a new casting. In 1862, during the siege of Charleston, the bells for security were sent to Colombia. But during the transport, they were seriously damaged. Only some fragments remained, which were sent to London, in which the original patterns were stored. In February 1867, the bells were again installed on the bell tower of the Church of St. Michael, and already on March 21, they punched "at home again, again at home from someone else's land."

Fight "Ave Maria"

In 1825, Franz Schubert wrote seven melodies on the poem Sir Walter Scott "Deva Lake." The poem takes place at the beginning of 1500s in Scotland's forests, where Ellen Douglas hid. King Yakov V drives out the entire clan of Douglas due to the fact that Archibald Douglas, Count Angus, being resents with Jacob, sharpened him into the dungeon. The song Ellen is a prayer for her safety and her father in the forests.

« Oh yeah to Joy»

The ninth symphony of Ludwig Van Beethoven was first introduced in Vienna in 1824. Beethoven, who finally lost his hearing in 1819, could not hear the symphony itself nor the applause followed. It was the last great work of Beethoven. It included part of the work of F. Schiller "Ode to Joy", which Beethoven wanted to put on music for many years. This music of the Great Composer is the official anthem of the European Union.

A few words about melodies

First of all, your clock is designed to determine time. And they were not created as a musical instrument with perfect sound. The tone of the melodies will be different in different models of hours due to different wood of their buildings, and on how much moisture the tree absorbs or gives in collaboration with the environment. Cylinders for combat are produced massively and will not be convicted to ideal. Melodies are created in the sound of the set of cylinders. The battle of every hour is different from all other melodies to be obvious that this is the onset of a new hour. The speed of the melody is set by the mechanism and cannot be changed. Although the speed will decrease as the mechanism contaminates. Cleaning will restore the initial speed of playing melodies.
