Date: 23.07.2016

The entrance hall is the first room that we and guests see when entering the dwelling. But they repair it last, because all the tools and materials rush through the room, and this causes damage to the finish and negatively affects the interior.

It is important to consider the style of the rest of the house when renovating. hallway in a private house, be developed design-projects reviewed by hundreds Photo to select the best option. It is worth noting that the flight of design ideas in the room is directed towards beauty, style, and functionality, practicality.

The design of the hallway in a private house can be very diverse.

We develop a concept

Finishing is being done in this room, when the rest of the dwelling has already acquired the style and the results of the repair work have been assessed. The starting point is the interior decoration of other rooms. It is important for the interior to have a finished look. An original idea would be to hike from the opposite, when the hallway is strikingly different from other rooms. Which way the owner of the apartment will go depends on his wishes.

Often there is enough space to decorate any idea of a hallway in a private house.

A bright hallway visually enlarges the space

Before developing a concept for the appearance of the hallway, we understand what functional load the room performs. Answer your questions:

  1. Is there a separate room in the house for storing clothes (pantry, dressing room) or will things be stored here? Remember that narrow long corridors are not easy to work with, but with a competent technical approach, it is possible.
  2. To change shoes, take off outerwear, how many seats do you need? The number of seats corresponds to the number of family members living in the room.
  3. Can the floor space accommodate whatever you want? The project must be rational and close to reality.

An entrance hall in a private house can be located in front of the entrance to the main house, for example, on the veranda

In the hallway of a private house, you need a place to store outerwear, shoes and accessories

After answering the above questions, the owner of the house will surely be able to reasonably assess the possibilities of the premises and navigate the abundance of furniture and finishing materials.

Wallpaper in the hallway

The finishing material used on the walls should be both aesthetically pleasing and practical, so you should not use textile or paper coverings. Its main qualities should be strength and durability.

Wallpaper in the hallway should be suitable for the overall interior.

The wall covering should be easy to clean and unpretentious.

Important: for sure, the walls will have to be washed frequently due to dust and dirt particles that penetrate the front door. The best coating option will be non-marking surfaces. Do not make the walls white, milky, creamy, they will quickly lose their appearance.

Wallpaper in the hallway should not be soiled

In such a room are used:

  1. Vinyl wallpaper. They are easy to clean, inexpensive, easy to assemble, unpretentious, durable. The pluses of the coating will be a wide range of colors.
  2. Liquid wallpaper. The advantages of such a coating: it is easy for them to process non-standard, uneven planes (arched openings, niches, partitions of an unusual configuration). When varnished, liquid wallpaper is easy to wash.
  3. Covering with decorative plaster. It has a rich color range, has a long service life, and is unpretentious.
  4. Dye. The disadvantage of using the coating will be the presence of an even base for painting. It is required to prepare the walls by priming, puttingtying, sanding, and sometimes gluing special wallpaper for painting before applying paint. This process requires more time, money investments of the owner.
  5. MDF and PVC panels. With this coating, it is easy to quickly process walls. They differ in tiled (square), rack, sheet. Such material is durable, easy to assemble. Important pay attention to the moisture resistance of the material before finishing the room.

Often, owners use combined options, combining several types of material. You can lay out the apron from the panels to the middle of the walls, and paint the rest of the surface or glue the vinyl wallpaper.

Painting the walls of the hallway

For the "country" style, the wooden walls are not painted, but simply passed with antiseptic compounds, sprays from excess moisture or insects. From above, the stylized walls are varnished.

Hallway floors

Hallway floor coverings withstand the highest stress in comparison with other areas of the house. There are sharp heels of guests entering the house, and rubber-smeared soles of sneakers and children's sneakers, and wheels of a bicycle, scooter. All this is complemented by dust and dirt, which is pulled from the street, so the floor is tiled with a coating that can withstand heavy loads.

The floor in the hallway must be constantly dirty, so it wears out quickly

Linoleum is best suited for this. This is the most common option in private homes. The purchase costs are low and the care is easy. The coating is divided into three classes depending on wear: household, semi-commercial, commercial.

Linoleum in the hallway washes well, but leaves marks from the heels

Laminate on the floor of the hallway looks beautiful and natural, but does not tolerate moisture

If it is decided to lay a laminate, then when buying, they pay attention to its moisture resistance, strength, and wear resistance. Often water gets into the joints causing the coating to swell. It loses its original appearance, so that this does not happen, it is recommended to wipe the seams with a special compound that does not allow moisture to get into the joints between the lamellas.

Laminate in the hallway can be easily replaced

Tiles, as a finishing material, are recommended due to their reliability and ease of maintenance. When purchasing, porcelain stoneware, which is more difficult to slip on, will be a good option. It is stronger than tiles and has a long service life. The most reliable and expensive flooring will be stone tiles.

Floor tiles are a versatile floor covering for the hallway

An interesting and functional solution would be a combination of two or three finishing materials, for example, tiles (porcelain stoneware) are laid near the entrance, and laminate flooring in the rest of the room.

Using a combination of floor tiles and laminate, you can visually highlight areas in the corridor

Hallway ceiling

Repairing the ceiling in a room is virtually the same as in other rooms. Any cover you like is chosen here, depending on the style and decoration of the room. The cost of materials will also be an important factor.

The combined ceiling in the hallway made of gopiscardon and a stretch ceiling looks beautiful

Basically, several types of ceiling coverings are made: suspended structures; work with the ceiling.

  1. The stretch ceiling in the hallway is assembled by specialists and consists of a canvas and a frame base. You cannot build such a ceiling on your own. It has a smooth surface (matte or glossy), unpretentious, has a long service life. Most often, in the hallway, the ceiling is not a key link, but an important element, so maintenance of the coating should be simple and time-saving.
  2. The suspended ceiling is mounted on the basis of plasterboard sheets or plastic-based panels. With the help of a similar design, communications or wires are hidden. If the ceiling is made of panels, then it does not require additional processing, and the ceiling based on drywall must be additionally painted, covered with plaster, pasted over. Important: the frame structure, together with the thickness of the material and the unevenness of the ceiling, can "eat" from 7-10 centimeters of the height of the room.
  3. Ceiling work can include whitewashing, painting, wallpapering, plastering or tiling.

The original vaulted ceiling looks interesting in a private house

Remember: a prerequisite for such work will be the alignment of the ceiling and its preparation.

When arranging the ceiling, you need to take care of lighting.

The choice of furniture in the hallway

After finishing work, furniture is selected that has compactness and functionality. For this, based on the style of the room, forged, plastic, wooden objects are used. What can you not do without indoors?

  1. Closet- this is a piece of furniture, which is indispensable in the hallway. Outerwear, gloves, scarves and hats are folded into it. With a small room, the wardrobe is replaced by a hanger and a chest of drawers.
  2. The hanger can be free-standing, or it can look like a panel with hooks screwed to the wall. She will help out when there is nowhere to hang a wet jacket for drying or when many guests have come and there is not enough space in the closet.
  3. The shoe rack and its width are selected according to the largest household shoe size. Making it to order will become an actual design solution. It is important to consider ventilation when modeling a structure, but it is not recommended to leave it completely open. Such shelves are supplemented with a special box for cream for the care of leather goods, spoons for shoes.

It is necessary to take care of the furniture in the hallway

  1. If there is no space in the closet, then a shelf or an additional module for hats and caps is provided. A functional solution to use the space above the doorway and eliminate cap deposits and save space.
  2. An umbrella should also have its place to protect it from rain during the summer months and off-season. In the interior of the "vintage" style, they are kept in antique baskets, and in the hallway of the modern style, umbrellas are stored in cupboards or on shelves.
  3. A chest of drawers is used if the hallway is large, and when there is a sufficient number of spacious shelves in the furniture, then the presence of a chest of drawers is an optional condition.
  4. A seat for changing shoes will be an ottoman, a soft stool, a bench. A convenient combination of a pouf with a drawer in which an umbrella, a raincoat and other useful little things can be folded.
  5. The hallway furnishings will look unfinished if there are no mirrors hanging in the room. For these purposes, you can use the cabinet front with a mirrored surface. Mirror surfaces of any size and configuration are used for the hallway: designer mirrors of an unusual shape, mirror tiles, acrylic mirrors, mirror interior stickers.

The hallway can be made as a separate corner

Using the advice you have, you get a stylish and original entrance hall in a private house. Design, photo, the presented interior styles, functional solutions given in the article will help you make the right choice.

The interior of the hallway in a private house

Entrance hall in a private house 50 photo ideas:

The corridor or hallway is the premises where the tenants of the apartment first of all get when they come home from the street, therefore, dirt and damage are bound to appear on their walls over time. If there are small children or animals in the apartment or house, then the finishing of the lower part of the wall will definitely be in a special risk zone. Therefore, when starting a repair, you need to carefully consider how to decorate the walls in the corridor so that the material is resistant to most mechanical influences.

In addition, it is necessary to take into account the fact that the entrance hall is usually the "face" of the apartment, setting the tone for the interior design of all rooms, which means that one cannot but think not only about the strength qualities of the material, but also about its aesthetic side.

A large assortment of modern materials that can be found in hardware stores today makes it possible to choose finishes for any request in terms of style solutions and financial capabilities. However, before dwelling on one of the many design options, you need to consider the positive and negative aspects of the chosen approach.

Wood finish

The tree does not go out of fashion for many centuries, thanks to its amazing qualities, which create the most favorable microclimate in the premises of the apartment. For finishing the hallway and corridors, wooden cladding materials produced in the form of lining or panels, depending on the chosen design style, are suitable.

Natural lining

Wooden lining is a more affordable material compared to natural panels. It is made in various forms, so it is possible to use it to create an interior that matches different styles.

Several types of lining are produced, but all of them are used when decorating a corridor in styles such as "Provence", "country" or "Russian hut".

Wood is a material with a structure that does not conduct heat well, thereby retaining it in rooms, so the walls sheathed with it will always be warm to the touch. In addition, such a finish can partially reduce the level of noise coming from the outside.

Wooden lining is often called in a different way a tongue-and-groove board, although this is a contradiction - this term is more suitable for floorboards that do not have an external relief. However, a board with a smooth, non-profiled outer surface is often a good material for decorating walls in hallways and corridors.

Lining is classified, in addition to the type of profile, according to quality features - it is customary to distinguish between the classes "extra", "A", "B", "C".

  • "Extra" is the highest class lining that does not have defects and the core of the trunk.
  • "A" is a class of material that is also of high quality. In the production of this lining, wood is selected, on which one knot per 1500 linear millimeters is allowed on the front side or edge, as well as up to two blind and small cracks on the back side of the board.
  • "B" - the class of lining, which has a lower quality, so it can have up to four knots for every 1500 p. Mm, with a diameter of up to 20 mm. Also allowed up to two blind cracks, darkening and stains.
  • "C" is the lowest class of finishing material. It may have knots up to 25 mm in diameter, several cracks up to 5% of the lamella length, bluish and dark stains, and even mechanical damage. This material has a low price, so it is often used for the manufacture of lathing. If such a lining is planned to be used for decorative cladding, then a lot of work will have to be done on it, cleaning the surfaces and sealing up flaws.

Any of the classes is suitable for cladding the walls of the corridor, but some of them can be used in their natural form, that is, preserving the textured pattern of the tree, while others must be painted to mask the damage repaired with putty.

The lining is made from various woods, both coniferous and deciduous. The most affordable material can be called pine, linden and aspen, and the most expensive finishing is larch, cedar, oak, alder and ash lining.

The lining can be installed horizontally or vertically on the walls, depending on the effect you want to get. If the hallway or corridor is narrow and long, then it is best to mount the slats vertically, otherwise the room will seem even narrower and longer. In a square hallway, the lining can be fixed in different ways, as planned by the design design. To give the room originality, you can use a combined mounting option, that is, sheathe one wall horizontally, the other vertically, or even combine different directions on one wall.

Natural solid panels

A more expensive finish made of natural wood is massive panels, which can be used to sheathe all the walls, one of them, or only the lower sections are decorated with them. For the manufacture of this material, mainly expensive hardwood is used, which has a beautiful textured pattern, such as beech, oak, alder, cedar, ash. However, all these breeds have a high price and are not always available for a family with an average income. To reduce the cost of their production, most often different types of wood are combined with each other.

For example, the base of the panel is made of a less expensive material - it can be pine or spruce, and then its front side is covered with two or three layers of veneer made of valuable wood species. The veneer is bonded to the base using a special hot pressing technology, which gives the panels increased strength.

Panels are also made of plywood, which is also faced with veneer, and then coated with varnish or wax.

Wall panels, depending on their design, can be applied in different styles - these are classics, classic English, Victorian, modern, neoclassicism, rococo and other directions.

Advantages and disadvantages of wood trim

If we talk about the negative aspects of finishing the corridor with wood, then they practically do not exist, since it is devoid of disadvantages, with the exception of the high price of some of its options. But on the other hand, she has many times more advantages than any other material.

  • The wood has excellent strength and resistance to mechanical stress, therefore, with proper processing and finishing, the claws and teeth of pets are not afraid.
  • The environmental friendliness of the tree is undeniable in comparison with other artificial finishes, therefore, such a design is able to create a microclimate favorable for the residents of the apartment.
  • The durability of the wood finish will allow you not to resort to repairing the hallway for a dozen years.
  • If you want to change the interior design of the room, the finish can be easily painted in one or more colors.
  • The ease of installation of any type of wood finish, with the necessary tools, allows you to carry out this process on your own.
  • Each type of wood has its own textured pattern and color scheme, so choosing exactly the option that will appeal to the owners of the apartment and will fit well into the planned interior of the hallway is not difficult.
  • Both wood panels, well-fitted boards, and lining are perfectly combined with a variety of materials, such as wallpaper or artificial stone, so such a finish gives ample room for imagination when developing an interior project.

Wallpaper decoration

Despite the large number of new finishing materials that have recently appeared in the public domain, they continue to be popular, not only for living rooms, but also for the corridor or hallway.

But, as you know, wallpaper is a fairly thin material that is susceptible to damage and dirt. Therefore, if there is no perverse desire to repair the corridor every year, then it is best to combine them with more durable finishes, such as wood, plastic, chipboard or MDF panels or artificial stone.

It is especially important to choose the combined option if there are animals in the house. Well, in the event that a small child lives in the apartment, and it is decided to decorate with wallpaper only, then their washable version is best suited.

If earlier in stores it was possible to find only paper wallpapers, nowadays the assortment of this finishing material is extremely wide. So, for a hallway or corridor, non-woven, vinyl, fiberglass, metallized and photo wallpaper can be suitable. You should not choose textile finishing cloths for the decoration of these rooms, as dust can accumulate in them, which can cause the development of allergic reactions.

To determine the choice, it is worth considering in a little more detail the most popular types of this material.

Non-woven wallpaper

The non-woven version of the wallpaper consists of two layers - a base of non-woven cellulose fabric, as well as a top polymer coating. This type of material is not strong enough, but it is able to hide small flaws in the walls. It does not shrink when glued, wear-resistant, environmentally friendly, easy to self-assemble, since when finishing the glue is applied only to the wall.

Non-woven wallpaper is suitable for decorating not only walls, but also the ceiling. If it is necessary to change the interior, they can be painted in the desired color.

If the cat can reach the non-woven wallpaper, then she will gladly sharpen her claws on them, so it is best to combine them with high durable panels.

Vinyl wallpapers

Vinyl wallpaper also consists of two layers - a base made of paper or non-woven fabric, and a decorative coating made of polyvinyl chloride, which can have different thicknesses and reliefs. This coating has many varieties, and one of them, which has become especially popular - "silkscreen".

Vinyl canvases have high strength and wear resistance, they are inert to ultraviolet light and retain their original color for many years. Such wallpapers can be called washable, as they are easily amenable to regular wet cleaning. The variety of colors and textures of this material is so great that they can be matched to any style of interior.

If this finish is chosen for the decoration of the corridor, then it is not recommended to purchase wallpaper of dubious quality due to their low price, since they can be toxic. The best option for any of the rooms would be non-woven fabrics, as they are "breathable".

Fiberglass Wallpaper

Wallpaper based on fiberglass has increased strength, as it contains strong fibers. It is an environmentally friendly material that can be painted with water-based or latex-based paints after being wall-mounted. The wallpapers are highly durable, their service life is about 30 years, and during this period they are able to freely withstand up to 15 repaints. The material does not crack in the corners when the structure shrinks, it does not burn, is waterproof and is not a nutrient medium for microflora colonies.

Wallpapering the corridor can be done independently

Many owners have already tried their hand at carrying out such a finish with their own hands. But if there is no relevant experience, then before starting this work, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the article of our portal.

Wallpaper

Wall murals are made of various materials - they can be paper, non-woven, vinyl and fabric. For a corridor, it is best to choose a vinyl or non-woven option, since they have characteristics suitable for this room.

The finishing material is subdivided according to the texture. So, on sale you can find:

- Wallpaper with a smooth glossy and matte surface.

- Embossed wallpaper, imitating sand, canvas and other fabric weaving, as well as a variety of three-dimensional patterns.

This decoration material can be decorated with images with different effects:

  • Background wallpaper decorated with frequent patterns of vegetative or other direction, arranged in a certain order. They differ in that they lack a specific plot. This option is suitable for decorating a corridor or hallway, but at the same time it is necessary to choose washable varieties or combine them with other materials.

The background finish, depending on the choice of color and pattern, can visually expand or reduce the area of the room being decorated.

  • Panoramic wallpaper have images of natural or modern cityscapes, balconies or small courtyards. They are also capable of creating a room-enlarging effect, so they are the best fit for decorating narrow rooms.
  • Photo wallpaper with realistic images they are also often used to decorate the walls of corridors - these are photographs of flowers, grass, flowering trees, etc. Most often, these canvases have a three-dimensional 3D effect that creates the illusion of expanding space, or HD, in which the drawings are as detailed as possible.
  • Object photomurals , on which large images of one or several objects are applied, are better suited for rooms with large areas, since in small rooms they will look ridiculous and visually reduce them. For a corridor, this is not the best option.

Have you tried glueing wall murals?

This is not an idle question, since this finishing operation is quite complex, full of nuances. in order to avoid mistakes and not spoil expensive material - read in a separate publication of our portal.

Cork finish

An ideal finishing option for a corridor would be cork, which has antistatic qualities, fire-resistant and non-hygroscopic, resistant to deformation, ultraviolet radiation, and most importantly, to mechanical stress. Thanks to the strength of this material, it is not afraid of the claws and teeth of animals. Cork is an environmentally friendly material, it is very light in weight, which makes it easy to install on walls.

plastic panels

Cork is a natural material that perfectly insulates the room and makes the walls warm and pleasant to the touch. Cork finishing is produced in different versions - it can be wallpaper, plates and roll cloth on a self-adhesive basis. The color scheme of finishing elements is varied, as it can have a large number of options, both monochromatic and interspersed with different shades.

Cork finishing materials are made from the bark of oak, which grows in the Mediterranean. From the removed bark, veneer is cut, solid panels are prepared, or it is crushed into crumbs, followed by the production of wall and floor slabs, roll materials, base or paper-based wallpaper. Cork is used to decorate not only walls, but also other surfaces of the room.

In stores, you can find cork materials that require additional processing - they have a lower price. However, it is better to purchase a finish on which you do not need to additionally apply protective agents, since if this process is carried out incorrectly, it is quite possible to spoil the appearance of the coating.

  • Cork panels

Cork tiles or panels are made on a plywood or MDF basis, on which tongue-and-groove joints are made. This allows the individual elements to be assembled into a single cover with virtually invisible seams.

Another version of cork boards consists of three rather thin layers - the lower one serving as a base, the middle one, and the upper decorative one, connected with natural glue. This finishing material is decorated with cork veneer.

  • Rolled cloth

Rolled cork fabric consists of two layers - pressed chips, which is the basis, and decorative thin veneer. The canvases are glued to the surface of the walls and floor end-to-end. After installing such a finish, the sheets merge into a single coating with invisible joint seams.

In addition to decorative, technical cork roll coatings are produced, which are used as substrates for other types of finishes. They are used as an effective insulating and soundproofing material.

  • Cork wallpaper

Cork wallpaper is 1 to 4 mm thick. They can be baseless, like a roll cloth, or paper serves as the basis for them. Therefore, they are glued to the prepared walls in about the same way as ordinary wallpaper, but, unlike them, they are able to mask small flaws on the surfaces.

It should be noted that any cork material works well with other finishes, so different combination options can be developed and implemented.

Cork flooring is well suited for finishing walk-through rooms, both in terms of aesthetic and technical characteristics. The only thing that can stop you from choosing it is a rather high price.

Wall decoration with bamboo

Decorating the corridor with bamboo is an excellent choice, since this material is highly durable and is not afraid of mechanical stress. In addition, it is an environmentally friendly and durable, low maintenance material that can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth.

Bamboo finishing is produced in different forms - it can be rigid panels or wallpaper-mats, assembled from slats of different widths.

  • Bamboo panels

For the manufacture of bamboo panels, solid trunks or their halves are most often used, but sometimes they are also assembled from strips glued to the base. They consist of one or two layers, are produced by hot pressing, while they can have different dimensions and thicknesses.

Bamboo works well with other finishes such as wallpaper or tiles that mimic flat stone options. Most often, panels are used to decorate the lower part of the walls, which are more in need of their protective functions. Bamboo is not afraid of cat's claws and any dirt - the latter can be easily removed by all available methods. The panels are fixed to the wall using "liquid nails", and installation, as a rule, does not present any difficulties.

  • Bamboo wallpaper

Bamboo wallpaper is made from laths on which the inner part of solid trunks opens. The thickness of the canvases can vary from 3 to 5 mm. The slats are sewn with a thick strong thread, which makes them look like mats (which, by and large, they are). Most often on sale there are rolls of 10 × 0.92 m in size.

Another version of wallpaper made of this material has a base of technical gauze or rice paper, on which strips are glued, cut from the outer smooth part of the trunk, which is its bark. The width of the strips is from 8 to 20 mm, and the thickness is 1 ÷ 2 mm. A roll of such wallpaper has standard parameters, its length is 10000 mm, and its width is 2500, 2000, 1500 and 1000 mm.

Wallpapers are produced in different design options - they can be monochromatic or have a natural pattern characteristic of this material.

a natural stone

In terms of its decorative qualities, bamboo wallpapers are practically not inferior to panels. They can be combined with each other, but for this you need to choose matching shades.

Bamboo wallpapers are fixed to the wall using PVA polymer glue. It is recommended to level the walls with plasterboard before installing them, on the primed surface of which they are fixed quite easily. If the material will be glued to another, more complex surface, then it is better to use "liquid nails" for installation work.

Plastic panels

PVC panels are an affordable and easy-to-install material that can nevertheless significantly transform any room. Such cladding provides great opportunities in planning your own version of the interior of the corridor, as it is produced in a rich variety of colors, ornamental and embossed patterns, with a very reliable imitation of natural materials - the texture of wood, stone, sand, etc.

This material is very popular due to its aesthetic appearance, durability and relative strength. The panels are easily put in order using wet cleaning, therefore they are perfect for finishing the walls of the corridor, both the lower part of the wall and all surfaces completely.

If PVC panels are chosen for finishing the corridor, then the repair will be quick and relatively clean, without unpleasant smells of paint and spilled glue.

With the help of this material, it is quite easy to level the surfaces of the premises, it becomes possible to hide cables and pipes of communications without carrying out the racking of the walls. In addition, soundproofing material can be placed behind the panels.

The panels produced for interior decoration are environmentally friendly materials that do not emit harmful fumes.

The advantage of PVC panels is that such a coating will not attract animals, as it has a smooth surface that is not easy to grab with claws.

In order for the finish to meet all the qualities mentioned above, you should not purchase cheap materials. The stiffeners installed inside the panel should not be visible through the outer solid layers of plastic, and when pressed with your fingers, they should not wrinkle.

The surface of the panels should not have deformations and dents, and the joining of individual lamellas should be easy, with the spike fully engaging in the groove.

It is impossible not to remember that for finishing corridors and hallways it is necessary to choose PVC panels with a flammability category of G1 or NG. They have a special treatment that makes them more resistant to fire and melting, even when heated to extremely high temperatures. This circumstance must be taken into account so that in emergency situations the exit from the apartment is not blocked by strong and toxic smoke or even open fire.

The process of installing PVC cladding on walls is available to everyone!

Anything more or less "savvy" with basic construction skills, the owner is able to perform such a facing. How it is made - read in a separate publication of our portal.

MDF or fiberboard panels

MDF is a fibreboard produced by dry pressing of fibers using urea resins. The outer side of the panels is decorated with a coating imitating natural wood of various species or other natural materials. Some panels are covered with a special protective film - this process is called lamination.

In addition to MDF, fiberboard panels are also on sale, which have a lower cost, but experienced craftsmen still recommend choosing the first finishing option.

The essential difference between these materials lies in their technical characteristics:

  • MDF is a safer material than fiberboard, since in the second, phenol-formaldehyde resins are used as a binder, which emit toxic fumes that can harm the health of apartment residents. From this point of view, MDF is incomparably cleaner.
  • The strength of MDF is much higher than that of fiberboard finishes. Such panels are more resistant to external mechanical stress, which is very important for a room such as a corridor.
  • MDF, unlike fiberboard, has a water-repellent coating that allows wet cleaning of walls without much regard for the frequency of this process.

However, with all its advantages, MDF has a high flammability category - G4, and for different models of fiberboard this parameter may be lower - from G1 to G4. Therefore, when choosing a finish, you must definitely pay attention to this characteristic.

Installation of both MDF and fiberboard is carried out in the same way, in about the same way as for PVC panels and natural wooden lining: along the sheathing guides installed vertically or horizontally.

MDF panels are produced in different dimensional standards. Thickness usually varies from 6 to 14 mm, width - from 98 to 325 mm, and they are 1300 or 2600 mm long, that is, they are perfect for filling floor-to-ceiling space in a standard city apartment.

MDF panels are produced in several variations, which are subdivided according to the method of production, characteristics and color features. They can be:

  • Solid pressed.
  • Laminated with a smooth glossy surface.
  • Moisture resistant, designed for rooms with high humidity.
  • Veneered, imitating the finish of natural wood or cork.
  • Painted with a special paint capable of smoothing out irregularities and creating a glossy or matte surface.

Fake diamond

Artificial decorative stone is becoming a fairly popular material for finishing the corridor. They either completely lay out the walls, or combine it with plastered or otherwise decorated surfaces.

Plaster and cement based stone

The most common one, which is used for decoration, is made on the basis of cement or gypsum with the use of various plasticizing additives. This finishing material can be characterized as follows:

  • A wide variety of relief patterns and shades of artificial stone perfectly imitate a wide variety of natural materials.
  • Sufficiently high strength indicators guarantee the durability of the finish with the correct masonry.
  • In case of accidental damage to the surface of the stone, they can be easily restored on their own, the main thing is to accurately determine on the basis of what material it was made. If the base is gypsum, then the restoration must be made only with this material (the same applies to cement).
  • If you have experience in laying ceramic tiles, it will not be difficult to decorate the walls with artificial stone yourself.
  • Artificial stone also has several disadvantages:
  • Low abrasion resistance of the material surface. Therefore, it will be necessary to periodically renew the color or immediately cover the surface of the stone fixed on the wall with a varnish with high surface resistance (for example, polyurethane).
  • The cost of such a finishing material is quite high.

You yourself can make an artificial stone!

If you want to save on the purchase of material and try your hand at this craft, the reader should familiarize himself with the article, which is located on the pages of our portal.

In addition to the aforementioned materials, more expensive ones are also used for manufacturing - they make a more durable artificial stone that is not subject to abrasion and mechanical damage.

Acrylic stone

This type of artificial stone is made from 75% mineral natural environmentally friendly materials that stand out from white clay. In addition to it, it contains stone chips - it can be marble, granite, jasper and other minerals. The binder for the ingredients is acrylic resin (polymethyl methacrylate). The color range is created with special natural pigments that are harmless to humans.

Thanks to all of the above components, acrylic artificial stone is a very wear-resistant and durable material, so even such elements as kitchen countertops and sinks are made from it.

Quartz stone

Quartz artificial stone is more durable than acrylic, as it contains about 90% natural crushed quartz. It is more resistant to scratches and any other damage, and is also used not only as a decorative finish, but also for making durable kitchen countertops.

Polyester resins serve as a binder for quartz and color pigments - thanks to these components, the material is stronger than granite. In addition to strength, quartz stone has such qualities as environmental friendliness and resistance to the appearance and development of microorganisms harmful to humans. This material is light in weight and easy to clean, it does not absorb dirt, and it is sufficient to periodically wipe it with a damp cloth.

From a technical point of view, the walls inside the premises have no restrictions, since it is not flammable and does not contain substances harmful to humans. However, it is necessary to show a sense of proportion, otherwise the apartment will resemble some kind of cave. Therefore, most often, stone finishing is combined with decorative or ordinary plaster, and sometimes even just with wallpaper.

The stone is most often laid around doorways, or the corners of the room are finished off with it, which will contribute not only to the decorative design, but also to protect the places on the walls that are most vulnerable to damage.

Single inserts of stone on the plastered surface of the walls are also possible. The main thing is to competently think over the color scheme and the correct location of the finishing material.

Now, after getting acquainted with which finishes are best suited for the walls of the corridor, it will be easier for the reader to choose the best option, taking into account the quality of materials, style of decoration and, of course, their own financial capabilities. And let the video selection below with very interesting design solutions for decorating the corridor in the apartment be presented below to help him.

Video: There is a lot to learn - design options for finishing the corridor

Where does the house begin? Of course, from the hallway or corridor. It seems that it is no longer a street, but also not a living room, which serves as a kind of barrier between the outside world and the walls of one's home.

The first hallway meets the guests, which means that it is the first to make an impression. Do not want to hit your face in the dirt, then in no case cover the floor of the hallway with parquet, wood or carpet. The climatic conditions of our country presuppose the use of easily washable materials that can be cleaned of dirt and moisture at any time.

The interior of a small hallway in the house - we make out with our own hands

As a rule, a small corridor is the lot of small apartments and Khrushchev houses. Nevertheless, houses are not very spacious either. If the size of the hallway is discouraging - do not be discouraged, the right approach can brighten the situation. In order for your long corridor or tiny little room to turn into a functional and comfortable hallway, first of all, you will need a great desire and a grain of creative imagination.

And before correcting the disadvantages of a dark and cramped room, remember that you can increase the hallway space by choosing one of the following ways:

  • Cardinal

It involves the arrangement of the hallway using a non-standard planning solution. You can add the missing meters by means of rooms adjacent to the hallway, by reducing one of them. If this option is not possible, then try to increase the space by expanding the doorway or create a free passage to other rooms.

  • Visual

Using this method, you will be able to avoid serious repair work, since the improvised means to enlarge the hallway will be light, mirrors, shallow furniture, original hangers and small decor items.

As a rule, in a private house, the hallway is planned in such a way that it is a zone that unites all other rooms with each other. In this connection, its decor echoes some of the decor elements of the living room and dining room, as well as the bedroom and bathroom.

How to give the interior of the hallway individual and unique features? Take advantage of some of our tips:

  • Hallway floor

The floor covering should correspond to the intended purpose of the hallway: a room that is a link between a dirty street and a clean house. The main coating for these purposes can be linoleum or ceramic tiles. It will be appropriate to put in front of the doorstep plain or with an unobtrusive pattern, or even better - wicker mats. And far from the front door, for example, near a mirror or under a hanger, you can place a small round or rectangular rug.

  • Hallway lighting

In order for guests to "bathe in the light" when they come to your home, be sure to provide good lighting. In addition to the ergonomically selected central lighting, take care of additional light - spotlights. The use of LED strips is especially important nowadays - a win-win option in the design of any interior. The use of illumination above mirrors - can be a powerful weapon in the fight against optical expansion of space. Also, decorative lighting of the lower edge of walls, niches and shelves will give the room a more spectacular look.

  • Compact furniture in the hallway

In order not to obstruct the passage area in the hallway, use furniture with sliding mirrored doors (wardrobe). Choosing a hanger - the main symbol of any hallway, give preference to an open small vertical or one, but roomy horizontal hanger (of course, given the number of people living in the house). If the size of the hallway allows you to purchase a shoe cabinet, a mirror stand and an ottoman. Avoid bulky furniture and glass products in the hallway design.

  • Hallway decorative elements

All elements must be carefully thought out so as not to create a clutter and clutter effect in the interior. Coasters for umbrellas and hats, a miniature shelf for keys, decorative boxes and clothes brushes can become important design moves. An interesting design option will be the placement of a certain bronze or porcelain sculpture. Wicker baskets for a pet, as well as wall photographs, will harmoniously fit into the interior of the hallway.

A well-organized entrance hall in a private house - first of all, creates a good impression of guests about the house and its owner.

Hallway interior - photos of beautiful and original solutions

Different people have different attitudes towards the hallway of their own home, but everyone understands that this is the only room in which people spend the least time. Therefore, some refer to this room as a transshipment base, where. Others believe that she is the face of the owner, which first of all catches the eye of the guests of the house. The latter are right, therefore, it is necessary to treat it as a full-fledged room, where certain laws of design and distribution of furniture reign. So, in today's review we will disassemble the design of the hallway in a private house. Photos with furniture, finishing materials and other accessories will be considered without fail.

Getting into the hallway of the house, a person, paying attention to the style of design, will definitely think that all other rooms will be decorated in the same way. And this is probably correct. But no one can forbid the owner of the house to make exceptions to the rules, because the house is still his. But there are people who are always trying to get out of tough rules, some even try to surprise with their behavior and manners. So why can't, for example, make a hallway in minimalist styles, eh. That is, there are no bans on design.

But there are certain standards that are used in order to make the premises convenient to use. This will mainly be influenced by the overall parameters of the room. If it is, moreover, narrow, then, for example, you should not make it dark. Therefore, let's consider all the possible options. By the way, the interior of the hallway in the apartment is not very different from many positions. The main thing here is to place the accents correctly.

Interior design with a small hallway: photo with options

There is no need to despair if the hallway is a small room in which two people can hardly fit. After all, we do not spend most of our time in this room. But I would like to discover and find myself in a cozy and beautiful place.

So, what should be done first of all so that the design of a small hallway does not press, scream and push away. The main task is to organize the three main places that make the hallway as such. This:

  • a place where you can take off your outerwear;
  • the place where it will need to be stored;
  • a place where you can change your shoes and.

That is, these three sections must be mandatory, the rest is possible. For the first of them, a site with dimensions of 0.85 × 0.85 m is allocated. These parameters were used during construction as the best option. Do not neglect them in a small hallway in a private house.

It is better to adapt the second section in the form of an open one. That is, a space is created for clothes that are currently being used. If square meters allow, then you can build a small or pencil case against the wall. The second can be with open shelves.

As for the storage space for shoes, the best option is open or closed shelves with a depth of 10 ÷ 15 cm with inclined shelves. Additionally, you can install a shelf for hats and a folding seat. That is, it is necessary for a small hallway, which creates the convenience of using the room (the attached photos make it possible to assess the correctness of our reasoning).

Decorating a small hallway

As for the finishing of the floor, the materials for it are chosen regardless of whether the room is small or large. That is, the same materials are used in all types of hallways.

Choice of floor finishes

  1. Strength.
  2. Wear resistance. Sand, dirt and dust from the street will primarily penetrate the hallway floor. This means that there is a high probability that these abrasive particles will negatively affect the quality of the floor covering.
  3. Moisture resistance. Everything is the same connected with the street, only in the form of atmospheric precipitation that gets into the house on shoes, umbrellas, raincoats, and so on.
  4. Practicality. It is necessary to select the material in such a way that it could be any household detergent.

From all of the above, we can conclude that ceramic, stone, commercial type and with certain characteristics are suitable for finishing the floor in the hallway.

Ceiling and wall design

Now for the design of the ceiling. Don't fantasize here. The optimal solution is the exact same design as in the adjoining rooms. Better yet, no-frills white. But there are no restrictions for the walls, although moisture-resistant materials will feel better here. Therefore, washable, water-based paint, plastic panels are just a small list.

Materials for the walls in the hallway: photo of finishing options

With the materials for finishing the floor, it was agreed above, and with the walls, some positions were considered. I would like to dwell on some materials that have not been used in the hallways before. For example, wood or chipboard options.

For example, if a house is designed in a country style, then wood trim should be the main one. In this case, several options are used for the hallway:

  • wallpaper imitating wood,
  • plastic panels,
  • lining,
  • boards,
  • Laminated.

Attention! Natural materials are not dyed today. They are either coated with colorless varnish or antiseptic compounds.

If a classic style is chosen, then it is better to use water-based ones. It should be noted that a water emulsion for hallways is the best option. First, it's inexpensive. Secondly, it is easy to repair. Third, practical.

Moreover, in large hallways there is no need to save square centimeters. Therefore, very often the leveling of the walls is done with the help of sheet materials, and do not tinker with leveling mortars.

As for the color palette, it all depends on the preferences of the owner of the house. Although there is an unspoken rule among designers - the walls should be lighter than the floor, but darker than the ceiling.

Ceiling materials

What can be said about the finishing of the ceiling. You shouldn't overload it - that's for sure. Although today designers break all the canons and come up with options that sometimes look unrealistic in this room. It can be a mirrored ceiling, glass, multi-level, combined. In general, who is good for what.

But there are also those rules that are not violated under any conditions for creating a ceiling surface design:

  1. If the ceilings in the hallway are low, then they should be decorated in light colors.
  2. It is better to make a high ceiling a little dark. This color will add comfort to the room.

As for the materials, any will do: paint, wallpaper, and others.

Hallway lighting

Designers often use it as a space visualization tool. But there are also a number of purely functional requirements for it. It is clear that in the hallway people dress, put on shoes and even look in the mirror. This means that the lighting here must be complete. At the same time, the light should be pleasant and soft, because moving a person from the street to the inside of the house takes some time to get used to. And the better they shine, the faster the habituation process will take place, and in some cases it will not be needed at all.

Do not forget that the hallway is a transit room. Therefore, you should not neglect the transition rules. This is when the lighting in one room fully matches the lighting in the neighboring ones. Today, more and more designers offer room zoning using. If the hallway is a large room, then this approach justifies itself. It is better not to use this option in small ones.

There are two layouts of light sources: symmetrical and perimeter. Which one to give preference - everyone decides for himself. In addition, we can say that for the hallway, the shape, size and type does not matter. The main thing is that it fits exactly into the design of the room.

Hallway furniture: photo options

It is difficult to talk about what is represented on the market by a huge variety. In addition, a large number of small manufacturing workshops make any products to order, which simplifies the issue of filling the hallway. So that you understand what kind of variety we are talking about, consider a few photos of furniture already placed in the hallway.

Such a bachelor direction in which the masculine principle is felt. Such furniture already suggests that a woman does not yet live in this house.

And this, on the contrary, is a woman's wardrobe, laconic with a correctly selected color accent. I would like to add how clearly the furniture fit into the interior.

This type of furniture is often used in apartments, although the photo shows the design of the hallway of the house. Pay attention to the compactness, which will allow you to install the entrance hall almost anywhere in the room.

The original shape of the furniture, contrasting colors, a large number of storage areas, both open and closed.

Article

The design of the hallway in a private house does not differ much from the organization of the entrance area in the apartment - especially if the apartment is large. Almost all the recommendations that humanity has suffered about the interior of the hallway in the city are applicable outside the city. Nevertheless, life on earth has its own nuances, which should be taken into account even at the stage of planning a house. Did not make it? No problem. Making a hallway is akin to self-education - it's never too late to do it.

The interiors of the hallways of country houses are very different: somewhere these are luxurious rooms with baroque armchairs, and somewhere - functional nooks without claims to aesthetics. The point here is not only the prosperity of the owners, but also the attitude: for some it is already a house, but for others it is not yet.

Layout: where does the interior of the hallway begin in the house
The main complaint of the apartment owners to the standard hallway is that it is “small”. Theoretically, in a private house there should not be such a problem: you can lay at least 15, at least 30 "squares" on the entrance zone. Only is it necessary? The answer to this question depends on the functionality that you intend to hang on it.

If the entrance hall of a private house by its "load" resembles the entrance area of an apartment - one story. Another - if you want to store tools and work clothes for the garden here, in the hallway, and organize a shower for the dog.

An entrance hall in a private house is a "composite" phenomenon
This is for you and the vestibule - the buffer zone between the front door and the hall. A door usually leads from it to a warm garage, storage room, dressing room, technical room of the boiler room, or just a compartment for meters and video surveillance. There are already other doors and other exits from the hall - to the guest toilet, to the stairs, to the premises of the first floor. All this, formally speaking, is a hallway - and with such a load it can be even on 50 square meters.

Climatic sluice
The distribution of functions between adjacent rooms sometimes introduces some confusion into the very concept of a hallway. In particular, the entrance area is often called a vestibule, although the vestibule is a kind of climatic sluice that cuts off cold air from the hallway. It is often customary to leave outer clothing and shoes in it. In this case, the hallway can look like a hallway or merge with the living room. But more often than not, the entrance area (hallway) still looks like a place where people undress and take off their shoes. We will focus on this option.

So, the area of an ideal hallway in a private house should take into account the placement of each of the zones you need, the number of household members and the width of the aisles (from 90 cm in the corridor to 120 cm in a two-sided dressing room).

Usually 12-15 sq.m. is enough for a complete set of a hallway. It is believed that the entrance area should not occupy more than a quarter of the floor area, so as not to attract too much attention. But it depends on which entrance area - other attention will not hurt.

What else matters when planning a hallway

1. How is the entrance from the street organized
If you don't have a veranda, porch or vestibule, there are two additional challenges you will have to tackle: how to cut off the cold air in winter and how to reduce the amount of dirt on your boots. Usually, the first task is solved with the help of the second door - this is also necessary so that condensation does not fall out on the metal sheet. The second problem forces you to take a responsible attitude to the choice of flooring. Even a rubber-based carpet will not save a wooden floor or parquet from street dirt getting into the cracks - and here, perhaps, it is worth stopping at the tiles.

Well, think about the vestibule / veranda. At least small, as in the photo. You can leave your shoes there until they dry. Pay attention to the drain in the floor - you can also wash your shoes there.

2. Number of outputs
Some of the functional areas that you have planned to organize around the front hallway can be moved to the back entrance. For example, put a cabinet there for gardening tools, store clothes for gardening, strollers, etc. there. Think about where it would be more convenient for you to go for a walk with the dog, load sports equipment into the car, etc. It's sad, after all, to run with things through the whole house under the reproachful glances of the household.

3. Adjacent premises
They allow you to unload the functionality of the hallway. So, if there is an exit from the hallway to a warm garage, nothing prevents you from storing your precious spinning rods there. The same goes for the dressing room: a separate room for shoes and seasonal streetwear will save you from clutter in the hallway.

4. Where is the living room
The hall and corridor are special areas in the house. The hall partially functions as a living room, a rest area. Sometimes the hallway and hall are deliberately separated using a split-level floor. Or at least different types of coatings.

Decorating a hallway in a private house
The hallway in the house is a dirty room, no matter what pictures are shown in glossy magazines. This means: sand from shoes, drops from umbrellas, dust from the street, a backpack thrown against the wall, playful hands wiped on it. You will have to wash the walls in the hallway of a private house more often than in an apartment. Therefore, the coatings should not only be washable, but also resistant to abrasion. A practical option is decorative plaster, tinted lining (we protect wooden elements with an antiseptic). An important point when choosing materials for walls is the rhythm that repeating elements will set. It is not a sin to remind you that vertical stripes will visually raise the ceiling, and horizontal stripes will elongate the wall.

It is better to lay porcelain stoneware, stone, marble on the floor in the entrance area; Take a rough tile with a shallow relief, it is easy to slip on a smooth and wet one.

You can also play with tiles - lay out an "oriental rug" or "chessboard", pick up a pattern for a tree. In any case, it washes well and will not lose its appearance over the decades. If possible, choose a dark grout, the light will quickly darken in especially dirty places.

A polymer bulk floor is ready to compete with stone and ceramics in practicality. Another practical option for decorating the hallway is commercial (or semi-commercial) linoleum with an increased wear resistance class. No need to wrinkle your nose - today this material is produced of such excellent quality and appearance that you cannot distinguish it from natural wood. But linoleum, thanks to the substrate, will provide a more or less warm floor and without heating, such a number will not work with tiles.

The interior of the hallway in a private house in the photo looks quite dramatic - all thanks to the dark floor, lined with large polished slate. Light spots hitting it create interesting matte stains. There is also slate on the wall, but smaller.

In the photo: an unusual "cellular" console in the photo was welded from metal by Ulyanovsk craftsmen

Furniture
There is no consensus on which system is better for storing everyday outerwear in the hallway - open or closed. In the first case, raincoats and jackets dry faster and are better ventilated; in the second, they do not create a feeling of a mess. So it's a matter of taste. Someone likes a wardrobe, and someone likes bright hooks on the wall.

In addition to the compartment for outerwear, the wardrobe should have space for storing hats, gloves, scarves. When ordering furniture for the hallway, keep in mind: 50 cm from the floor, as a rule, are intended for storing shoes, from 50 to 180 cm - for outerwear, above 180 cm - for hats. If the hallway is three meters high or higher, it makes sense to make a mezzanine for seasonal things.

Corner sets for the hallway save space, and in some layouts they are simply irreplaceable. For example, this can be organized in a cold vestibule at the entrance.

Seating
If possible, it is better to make a couple of seats - after all, guests and owners often do not enter the house alone. A place for changing shoes should be located right at the entrance, here is a shelf for keys and gloves, a basket for umbrellas. The storage system is located a little further, you can go to it without shoes.

The area of the hallway in a private house allows you to install a banquet, pouf or bench - be sure to use this opportunity. The seating area can even be built into the storage system (chest or shoe store). In any case, changing shoes while sitting is much more comfortable than standing. In addition, this piece of furniture can become a highlight of the room. For example, you can easily add accents to a neutral design in your hallway simply by adding brightly colored pillows to your sofa.

How to hide the closet
White furniture looks lighter than colored furniture, so it makes sense to purchase massive items in a small hallway in this color. This is especially true of wardrobes and multifunctional headsets for the hallway. Well, do not forget that glossy facades reflect light and add volume to the room. But matte looks more comfortable.

Tip: to hide the wardrobe in the hallway, make it in the same color as the walls, and opposite place a visual accent: paintings, mirrors, etc.

In this German hallway in the photo, the owners "lightened" the transforming cabinet with an interesting facade solution: the door runs along the frame, opening the necessary sections.

Light my mirror
Put a growth mirror - a person wants to see himself fully before going out, and besides, there is no way easier to make the room larger and brighter. Finally, the mirror frame is an important decorative element. From it you can immediately guess what awaits us next - rustic or art deco.

Pay attention to how the design of the hallway in a private house is built in the photo: here it is the mirror that sets from the threshold the “feeling of a bygone era”, which will be further supported by fireplaces and antiques. A turquoise pouf acts as a color accent.

Umbrellas at hand
Another item that we rarely can afford in an urban hallway is an umbrella stand. A cozy detail, which can be a basket, a vase, or a large milk can. True, such a reservoir is suitable only for umbrellas of the cane system. An interesting detail in the photo: the designer bought an antique armchair in this British hallway at a cinema. A graphic illustration of how great it can be to avoid getting hung up on proven solutions.

Shelf for shoes
Boots, shoes, boots, sneakers - in our climate all this may be needed within a month, so do not expect to get by with a miniature shelf "one pair of shoes for a family member." Lay 2-3 pairs per household, a place for brushes, creams and impregnations. Ideally, there is also a place for guests' boots. To ventilate your shoes, it is advisable not to store them in closed boxes.

Traditional shoe racks have a big drawback - they have low compartments, which do not even include all high-heeled shoes. In this sense, it is justified to make a compartment for shoes under the bench - at least 50 cm from the floor: any women's boots will easily fit in there. Except the boots.

Hallway interior: which design to choose
There is a strong opinion that the hallway should be decorated in the same style as the main premises of the house. So, indeed, it is more difficult to miss: if the whole building is finished in the spirit of the English classics, cold minimalism in the entrance area will look strange.

But the entrance hall is still not quite a house, not a living room. Its "technical" status allows irony, eclecticism, and experimental solutions. For example, a huge clock, which will look too frivolous in an English living room, will not surprise anyone in the hallway. What is really important is the color scheme: it should have connecting elements for the whole project.

  • black and white space.
  • All of these options look interesting because contrast automatically implies volume and dynamics. So, for the decoration of the hall and hallway in the project in the photo, they chose a light scale with contrasting black splashes. On the floor - marble, on the walls - wallpaper from GP & J Baker.

Boiled white is not for the hallway - it is better to choose light gray or light pastel shades. And even better - paint only one accent wall or niche in a saturated color, for example, where backpacks will hang, etc. Make the rest of the walls an order of magnitude lighter. Then lightness will not go away from the interior of your hallway.

An interesting option for finishing the hallway is the "accent wall" technique; can only be painted over a niche or pasted over with wallpaper.

    Textiles: Less is Better
Unlike a city apartment, the entrance hall in a private house often has a window. If you care about privacy, you will have to close it with a curtain. Optimally - Roman, made of fabric, which is easy to care for. You can choose between blinds or interior shutters. It is better to use carpets in the hallway of a private house only to foster humility. An exception is the presence of a warm vestibule where guests will leave their shoes.

    Light of choice
Most often, technical lamps are mounted in the hallway - so that they perform their function, but not distract. The solution is understandable, albeit boring. In fact, in the entrance area of a private house, it is allowed to play with light: here you can hang a lampshade, a chandelier, and several sconces, creating a "living" atmosphere from the doorway. You can illuminate niches and a mirror using LED strip or directional light. And you can use all the techniques at once.

If the hallway is continued by a narrow corridor, it is better to direct the lamps in one direction: then the passage will seem wider. And by the way, in this case, it is better to make switches at the beginning and at the end of the corridor so as not to run.

    Decor
As a decor, an entrance hall in a private house can be decorated with live plants in pots or tubs, massive vases, sculptures, and a plaster bas-relief - that is, everything for which there is simply no room in the apartment. Forged details will look great in an entrance area decorated in country or Provence style.

The entrance hall of a private house, in contrast to the technical essence of the premises in an apartment, claims to be a residential status - therefore, pictures, posters, and a collection of matchboxes on a free wall will be appropriate here.

    Hope always
