Sura An Nas (People). Sura An Nas (People) Quran An Nas

Heaven and earth are often mentioned in the Qur'an. Perhaps for the reason that these are the largest creations of the Creator of those that a person can see.

An angel is not that Cupid boy with wings and a quiver at the ready, whose image was borrowed from mythology and so spread in the imagination of modern people, but a gigantic creation that does not fit into the earthly laws of physics.

To get closer to understanding what the “world of the soul” is, my book of the same name will help you.

Those who did not live and will not live to see the End of the World, their end, opening their eyes to eternity, will be death, the process of the soul leaving the body.

    See: Holy Quran, 6:32; 29:64; 47:36; 57:20.

You can understand the meaning of the verse more clearly by reading (at the end of the fifth sura) about the meal of Jesus brought down from heaven.

The meaning is this: if people became eyewitnesses of a Divine miracle that awakened and strengthened faith in them, and then forgot and returned to disbelief, what severe punishment from God would await them!

    For more details, see, for example: al-Zuhayli V. At-tafsir al-munir. In 17 vols. T. 4. S. 199.

    For more details, see, for example: al-Zuhayli V. At-tafsir al-munir. In 17 vols. T. 4. S. 203.

Just a decade ago, the concept of "stress-induced growth" appeared in psychology. This is when a person who has experienced the blows of fate does not bow before them, falling into despair and impotence, but, mobilizing himself, overcomes them and follows further forward and upward through his personal achievements. That is, the same reason can both cause depression, impotence, apathy, and become a source of inspiration for new physical, intellectual and spiritual forces, searches, and undertakings. What matters is not what happens, and then how we look at it, whether we can see the positive in it.

This appeal concerns both the Prophet himself and any believer.

Azar is the nickname of Abraham's father, and his name is Tarah. See, for example: az-Zuhayli V. At-tafsir al-munir. In 17 vols. T. 4. S. 273.

For more details about Abraham's dialogue with his father, see, for example: Holy Quran, 19:41-48.

The verb given in the verse is translated precisely as "obscure, make obscure." There is another verb with the same root letters, but with a difference of one vowel, which translates as "put on, dress, put on, wear."

Zakaria (Zechariah) - God's prophet, a descendant of Suleiman, son of Daud (Solomon, son of David). He was the husband of Aunt (maternal) Maryam (Mary), the mother of Jesus. It is mentioned eight times in the Holy Quran. See, for example: az-Zuhayli V. At-tafsir al-munir. In 17 vols. T. 2. S. 228, 240.

See, for example: Holy Quran, 3:38–41.

Ilyas (Elijah) - a prophet from among the descendants of Ya'kub. He is the son of Yasin, belongs to the tribe of Harun (Aaron), the brother of Moses. See, for example: az-Zuhayli V. At-tafsir al-munir. In 17 vols. T. 4. S. 291, and also T. 12. S. 147.

The name of this prophet is mentioned here and also in the 123rd verse of the 37th sura.

Yasa'a was left by Ilyas (Elijah) after himself as a successor who led the Jewish people. Some time after that, the Lord chose him as a prophet, who continued the series of God's prophets and became the next spiritual leader for his fellow tribesmen. See, for example: az-Zuhayli V. At-tafsir al-munir. In 17 vols. T. 12. S. 234.

The name of this prophet is mentioned here and also in the 48th verse of the 38th sura.

Lut (Lot) was the son of Haran, Abraham's brother, that is, Lut was Abraham's nephew.

    See, for example: az-Zuhayli V. At-tafsir al-munir. In 17 vols. T. 4. S. 291, 293, 650.

There is such a thing as deadly sins. These are crimes for which hellish torments are promised.

The abortion statistics in our time are a vivid confirmation of this.

Another version of the translation of this part of the verse:“Partners-idols [not without the participation of the devils-genies, their devilish whispers] embellished [in the eyes of] many pagans (godless) [justified for them] the murder of their children in order to destroy them [by instigation, temptations] [therefore, the pagans destroyed them with their own hands their future generation] and in order to obscure, make obscure for them the religion [its remnants, suggesting that they allegedly follow the example of their forefather Abraham, who was ready to sacrifice his son to God]”.

Trellis - a thin lattice for climbing plants.

This is transmitted to the same eight categories of people who are paid the annual zakat, the first among which are the poor relatives of the person who harvested the harvest. Read more about zakat, for example, in my book Trillionaire Finance.

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful!

1. Praise be to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and established darkness and light. But even after that, those who disbelieved equate others to their Lord.

2. He is the One who created you from clay and then set a time [for your death.] He also has a set time [for resurrection], but after that you still doubt.

3. He is Allah in heaven and on earth. He knows what you hide and do openly, and knows what you gain.

4. Whatever sign of the signs of their Lord came to them, they turned away from it.

5. They considered the truth a lie when it came to them, but news will reach them of what they mocked.

6. Have they not seen how many generations We have destroyed before them? We endowed them on earth with authority that we did not bestow upon you, sent down to them abundant rains from the sky and made rivers flow under them. We destroyed them for their sins and created other generations after them.

7. Even if We sent down to you the Scripture on paper, and they touched it with their hands, the unbelievers would still say: “This is obvious witchcraft.”

8. They said: “Why doesn’t an angel come down to him?” If We had sent down an angel, then the decision would have already been made, after which they would not have received a reprieve.

9. Even if We had sent down an angel, We would still have made him a man and would have confused them about what they doubt.

10. Messengers before you were also ridiculed, but those who mocked them were surrounded [or comprehended] by what they mocked.

11. Say: "Roam the earth and see what was the end of those who considered a lie [truth]."

12. Say: "Who owns what is in heaven and on earth?" Say: "Allah! He prescribed mercy to Himself. He will certainly gather you together on the Day of Resurrection, of which there is no doubt. Those who have lost themselves will never believe.”

13. To Him belongs everything that rests day and night, and He is Hearing, Knowing.

14. Say: “Will I take as my protector anyone other than Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth? He feeds, but He is not fed. Say: "I am commanded to be the first of those who submit." Do not be among the polytheists.

15. Say: "I am afraid that if I disobey my Lord, then torment will overtake me on the Great Day."

16. He who will be turned away from them [torments] on that day, he has mercy on him. This will be an obvious success.

17. If Allah touches you with trouble, then no one can save you from it except Him. But if He touches you with good, then He is capable of all things.

18. He is the Overpowering One and is above His servants. He is Wise, Knowing.

19. Say: "Whose testimony is the most important?" Say: “Allah is the Witness between me and you. This Qur'an has been revealed to me so that I may warn you and those to whom it reaches. Do you really testify that there are other gods along with Allah?” Say: ["I do not bear witness to this."] Say: "He is the only God, and I have no part in what you associate with partners."

20. Those to whom We have given the Scripture know it as they know their sons. Those who have lost themselves will never believe.

21. Who can be more unjust than the one who slandered Allah or considered His signs a lie? Verily, the wrongdoers will not succeed.

22. On that day We will gather them together, and then We will say to those who made partners: “Where are the partners that you supposed existed?”

23. Then they will have no excuse except to say: “We swear by Allah, our Lord, we were not polytheists!”

24. Look how they lie about themselves! But what they invented will leave them [or: disappear].

25. Among them there are those who listen to you, but We threw a veil over their hearts so that they could not understand it [the Qur'an], and struck their ears with deafness. Whatever sign they see, they still will not believe in it, and therefore, when they come to you to argue with you, the unbelievers say: "These are just legends of the ancient peoples."

26. They keep others away from it [the straight path], and they themselves shun it, but they only destroy themselves without feeling [it].

27. If only you could see them when they are stopped before the Fire. They will say: “Oh, if only we were brought back! We would not consider the signs of our Lord a lie and would become believers!”

28. Oh no! What they had hidden before was revealed to them. If they were returned back, they would certainly return to what was forbidden to them. Indeed, they are liars.

29. They say: "There is only our worldly life, and we will not be resurrected."

30. If only you could see them when they are stopped before their Lord. He'll say, "Isn't that the truth?" They will say: “Of course, we swear by our Lord!” He will say: "Taste the torment because you did not believe!"

31. Those who denied meeting Allah have already been at a loss. When the Hour suddenly comes for them, they, carrying their burdens on their backs, will say: “Woe to us for what we missed there!” How bad is what they will bear!

32. Worldly life is just a game and fun, and the last abode is better for those who fear God. Don't you understand?

33. We know that what they say makes you sad. They do not consider you a liar - the wicked reject the signs of Allah!

34. Before you, the messengers were also considered liars, but they endured being so called and offended until Our help came to them. No one will distort the words of Allah, and some news about the messengers has already reached you.

35. If their disgust bothers you, then if you can find a passage in the earth or a ladder to heaven, then bring them a sign. If Allah had willed, He would have gathered them all on a straight path. Therefore, do not be one of the ignorant.

36. Only those who listen will answer. And Allah will raise the dead, after which they will be returned to Him.

37. They say: “Why was not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?” Say: "Allah has power to send down a sign." But most of them do not have knowledge.

38. All living creatures on earth and birds flying on two wings are communities like you. We haven't missed anything in Scripture. And then they will be gathered to their Lord.

39. Those who consider Our signs false are deaf and dumb in the darkness. Allah deceives whom He wills and guides whom He wills to the straight path.

40. Say: “Tell me, will you call anyone along with Allah if you are struck by the punishment of Allah or the Hour comes, if only you speak the truth?”

41. Oh no! You will only call on Him. If He wills, He will deliver you from that about which you will cry to Him, and then you will forget about those whom you have made as partners.

42. We have already sent messengers to the nations before you. We subjected them to poverty and disease so that they might become humble.

43. Why then, when Our punishment struck them, did they not become humble? Their hearts hardened, and the devil adorned for them what they did.

44. When they forgot what they were reminded of, We opened before them the gates to every thing. When they rejoiced in what was given, We seized them suddenly, and they fell into despair!

45. The wicked were destroyed to the ground. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds!

46. Say: “What do you think, if Allah takes away your hearing and your sight and seals your hearts, what deity but Allah will return all this to you?” See how We explain the signs, yet they still turn away.

47. Say: “What do you think, if the punishment of Allah strikes you unexpectedly or openly, will anyone be destroyed except the unjust people?”

48. We send messengers only as good heralds and warners. Those who believe and do righteous deeds will not know fear and will not be saddened.

49. And those who believe Our signs are false will be tormented because they were wicked.

50. Say: “I do not tell you that the treasures of Allah are with me, and I do not know the secret. I am not telling you that I am an angel. I follow only what is revealed to me.” Say: “Are the blind and the seer equal? Don't you think?"

51. Warn with them those who fear that they will be gathered before their Lord when they have no protector or intercessor besides Him. Perhaps they will be afraid!

52. Do not drive away those who cry out to their Lord in the morning and before sunset, striving for His Face. You are not at all responsible for them, and they are not at all responsible for you. But if you drive them away, you will be one of the wrongdoers.

53. So We tempted some of them with others, so that they would say: “Has Allah shown favor among us only to these?” Does not Allah know best those who are grateful?

54. When those who believe in Our signs come to you, say to them: “Peace be with you! Your Lord has ordered Himself to be Merciful, and if one of you does evil out of his ignorance, and then repents and begins to do righteous deeds, then He is Forgiving, Merciful.

55. Thus We explain the signs, so that the path of sinners becomes clear.

56. Say: "It is forbidden for me to worship those whom you invoke along with Allah." Say: “I will not indulge your desires. Otherwise, I will go astray and will not be among those who follow the straight path.

57. Say: “I am guided by a clear proof from my Lord, and you consider this a lie. I don't own what you rush. Only Allah makes the decision. He speaks the truth and is the best of judges."

58. Say: “If I had mastered what you are hastening, then the dispute between me and you would have already been resolved. But Allah knows better about the wrongdoers.

59. He has the keys to the hidden, and only He knows about them. He knows what is on land and in the sea. Even a leaf falls only with His knowledge. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry, which would not be in the Clear Scripture.

60. He is the One Who puts you to sleep at night and knows what you do during the day. Then He raises you up in the daytime so that the appointed time will be fulfilled [the term of your life will be completed]. Then you have to return to Him, and then He will tell you about what you did.

61. He is the Overpowering One and is above His servants. He sends guardians to you. When death comes to one of you, Our messengers put him to death, and they do not omit.

62. Then they are returned to Allah, their True Protector. He alone decides, and He is the fastest in reckoning.

63. Say: “Who saves you from the darkness on land and on the sea, when you cry out to Him humbly and secretly, saying: “If He saves us from this, we will certainly be grateful!”

64. Say: “Allah saves you from this and from all other sorrows. But you continue to join partners.

65. Say: "He has the power to send torment on you from above or from under your feet, or to lead you into confusion, dividing you into factions and letting some of you taste the cruelty of others." See how We explain the signs so that they can understand.

66. Your people considered it [the Quran] a lie, although it is the truth. Say: "I am not your guardian and guardian."

67. There is a deadline for each message, and you will know [about it].

68. When you see those who talk about Our signs, turn away from them until they are carried away by another conversation. If the devil makes you forget [it], then do not sit with unjust people after you remember.

69. Those who are God-fearing do not bear any responsibility for their calculation. They should only remind them that they may be afraid.

70. Leave those who consider their religion a sport and amusement and are deceived by worldly life. But exhort them with this, so that the soul does not doom itself to perdition by what it has gained, when it has no patron and intercessor except Allah, and when nothing is accepted from it, no matter what ransom it offers. They doomed themselves to destruction by what they had gained. Boiling drink and painful sufferings are prepared for them because they were unbelievers.

71. Say: Shall we worship besides Allah that which does not benefit us or harm us? Will we turn back after Allah has guided us to the straight path, like the one whom the devils on earth deceived and confused, whose companions call him to the straight path: “Come to us”? Say: “The way of Allah is the only right way, and we are commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.

72. Pray and fear Him, because you will be gathered to Him.

73. He is the One who created the heavens and the earth for the sake of truth. On that day He will say, "Be!" - and it will come true. His Word is truth. He alone will have dominion on the day the Horn is blown. He knows the hidden and the obvious, and He is the Wise, the Aware.

74. Here Ibrahim [Abraham] said to his father Azar: “Do you really consider idols to be gods? I see that you and your people are in obvious error."

75. Thus We showed Ibrahim [Abraham] the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, so that he might become one of the convinced.

76. When the night covered him with its darkness, he saw a star and said: “Here is my Lord!” When she rolled, he said: "I don't like those who roll"

77. When he saw the rising moon, he said: “Here is my Lord!” When it set, he said: "If my Lord does not guide me to the straight path, then I will become one of the erring people."

78. When he saw the rising sun, he said: “Here is my Lord! It is greater than others." When it had set, he said, “O my people! I am not involved in the fact that you associate as partners.

79. I sincerely turned my face to Him Who created the heavens and the earth, and I do not belong to the polytheists!

80. His people began to quarrel with him, and then he said: “Will you quarrel with me about Allah, while He has guided me to the straight path? And I do not fear those whom you associate with Him, unless my Lord desires something. My Lord comprehends every thing with knowledge. Don't you remember the edification?

81. How can I be afraid of those whom you associate as partners if you are not afraid to associate with Allah those of whom He has not sent down any proof to you? Which of the two groups has more reason to feel safe, if you only know?”

82. Those who believe and do not clothe their faith in injustice are safe, and they follow the straight path.

83. These are Our arguments which We presented to Ibrahim [Abraham] against his people. We raise in degrees whom we will. Verily, your Lord is Wise, Knowing.

84. We gave him Ishak [Isaac] and Yakub [Jacob]. We led them both in a straight path. Even earlier, We led Nuh [Noah] to the straight path, and from his offspring - Davud [David], Suleiman [Solomon], Ayyub [Job], Yusuf [Joseph], Musa [Moses] and Harun [Aaron]. Thus We reward those who do good.

85. And also Zachariah [Zechariah], Yahya [John], Isa [Jesus] and Ilyas [Elijah]. All of them were from among the righteous.

86. And also Ismail [Ishmael], Alias [Elisha], Yunus [Jonah], and Lut [Lot]. All of them We exalted above the worlds.

87. And also some of their fathers, descendants and brothers. We chose them and led them straight.

88. Such is the guidance of Allah, through which He guides as many of His servants as He pleases. But if they had joined partners, then everything they did would have been in vain.

89. These are those to whom We have given the Scripture, wisdom and prophecy. And even if they do not believe in it, We have already entrusted it to other people who will not become disbelievers.

90. These are those whom Allah has guided to a straight path. Follow their direct path. Say: “I do not ask you for a reward for it. This is nothing but a reminder for the worlds."

91. They did not appreciate Allah properly when they said: "Allah did not send down anything to man." Say: “Who sent down, as a light and a sure guide for the people, the Scripture with which Musa [Moses] came, and which you have turned into separate sheets, showing some of them and hiding many others? But you were taught something that neither you nor your fathers knew.” Say: "Allah." Then leave them to amuse themselves with their own idle talk.

92. This is the Blessed Scripture which We sent down and which confirms what was before it, so that you exhort the Mother of the cities [the people of Mecca] and those who live around her. Those who believe in the Hereafter, believe in it [the Qur'an] and take care of their prayers.

93. Who can be more unjust than the one who slanders Allah or says: “I have been given a revelation,” although no revelation has been given to him, or says: “I will send down like that which Allah has sent down”? If you could see the wicked when they are in their death throes, and the angels stretch out their hands to them: “Give your souls! Today you will be rewarded with humiliating torments because you spoke lies about Allah and exalted yourself above His signs.

94. You came to Us alone, as We created you for the first time, and left behind you what We endowed you with. We do not see your intercessors with you, whom you considered to yourself as partners of Allah. The ties between you are severed, and what you claimed has left you.

95. Allah reveals the seed and the seed. He brings out the living from the dead and brings out the dead from the living. Such is Allah! How far away are you [from the truth]!

96. He reveals the dawn. He appointed the night for rest, and the sun and moon for numbering. Such is the institution of the Mighty, the Knower.

97. It is He Who created the stars for you, so that you can find your way through them in the darkness of land and sea. We have already explained the signs for people who know.

98. He is the One who created you from one soul. There is a dwelling place for you [on earth or in the wombs of your mothers] and a place of storage [in the graves or loins of your fathers]. We have already explained the signs for people who understand.

99. He is the One Who sent down water from the sky. By means of it We brought forth plants of all kinds. We bring out green herbs from them, and from them - grains located one on another. On date palms, clusters hanging low grow from the ovaries. We cultivate vineyards, olives and pomegranates that have similarities and differences. Look at their fruits as they appear and as they ripen. Verily, in this are signs for the believers.

100. They associate jinn with Allah, and He created them. They fabricated sons and daughters for Him without any knowledge of it. Exalted is He and above all that they attribute [to Him].

101. He is the Creator of heaven and earth. How can He have a son if He has no wife? He created every thing and knows everything that exists.

102. Such is Allah, your Lord. There is no god but Him, the Creator of all things. Worship Him! He is the Trustee and Guardian of all things.

103. Eyes cannot comprehend Him, but He comprehends eyes. He is the Insightful [or: Kind], the Knower.

104. [Say]: “Signs have already come to you from your Lord. Whoever saw, he acted for his own good, and whoever was blind, he harmed himself. I am not your guardian."

105. This is how We explain the verses in various ways so that they say: “You have learned this!” - and that We would explain it to people who know.

106. Follow what is given to you in revelation from your Lord. There is no god but Him. And turn away from the polytheists.

107. If Allah had willed, they would not have joined partners. We have not appointed you as their guardian, and you are not their guardian.

108. Do not offend those to whom they invoke other than Allah, otherwise they will offend Allah out of enmity and out of ignorance. Thus We have embellished for each people their deeds. Then they have to return to their Lord, and He will tell them what they did.

109. In the name of Allah, they swore the greatest oaths that if a sign appeared to them, they would certainly believe in it. Say: “The signs are with Allah. And how do you know that they will not believe even if it comes to them?”

110. We turn away their hearts and minds because they did not believe in him the first time, and leave them to wander blindly in their own iniquity.

111. Even if We sent down angels to them, and the dead spoke to them, and We gathered everything that exists before them, they would never believe, unless Allah willed it. However, most of them do not know [about this].

112. Thus We determined for each prophet enemies - devils from among people and genies, inspiring each other with beautiful words of deception. If your Lord had willed, they would not have done so. Leave them together with their inventions.

113. [We have done so] that the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter incline to these words, and that they are content with them and do what they do.

114. [Say]: “Shall I desire any other judge besides Allah, while He has revealed to you the Book, explaining it in detail?” Those to whom We have given the Scripture know that it has been sent down from your Lord with truth. Therefore, do not be among those who doubt.

115. The word of your Lord has been fulfilled truthfully and justly! Nobody will change His Words. He is Hearing, Knowing.

116. If you begin to obey the majority of those who are on earth, they will lead you astray from the path of Allah. They follow only assumptions and only invent.

117. Verily, your Lord knows best who strays from His path. He also knows better who is following the straight path.

118. Eat from that over which the name of Allah is pronounced, if you believe in His signs.

119. Why should you not eat from that over which the name of Allah has been pronounced, when He has already explained to you in detail what is forbidden to you, unless you are forced to do so? Indeed, many deceive others with their own desires, without any knowledge. Verily, your Lord knows best the criminals.

120. Leave sins obvious and hidden. Indeed, those who commit sin will be rewarded for what they have done.

121. Do not eat from that over which the name of Allah has not been pronounced, for this is wickedness. Verily, the devils inspire their helpers to quarrel with you. If you obey them, you will become polytheists.

122. Is the one who was dead, and We brought him back to life and endowed him with light, thanks to which he walks among people, like one who is in darkness and cannot come out of them? Thus, what they do appears beautiful to unbelievers.

123. This is how We created the main sinners in every village, so that they plotted there. However, they plot only against themselves, but do not feel it.

124. When a sign appeared to them, they said: “We will not believe until we receive what the Messengers of Allah received.” Allah knows best whom to entrust His message to. Sinners will suffer humiliation before Allah and severe torment because they plotted.

125. Whoever Allah wishes to guide to the straight path, He opens his chest for Islam, and whomever He wishes to deceive, He squeezes and squeezes his chest, as if he were climbing into heaven. So Allah sends filth [or: punishment] on those who do not believe.

126. This is the straight path of your Lord. We have already explained in detail the signs to people who remember.

127. The Abode of Peace and Prosperity with their Lord is prepared for them. He is their Patron because of what they did.

128. On that day He will gather them together: “O host of jinn! You have misled many people." Their human helpers will say: “Our Lord! Some of us have taken advantage of others, and we have reached our term which You have assigned us.” He will say: “The fire will be your abode, in which you will remain forever, unless Allah wills otherwise!” Verily, your Lord is Wise, Knowing.

129. Thus We allow some wrongdoers to rule over others for what they gain.

130. [We will say]: “O assembly of jinn and people! Did not messengers from your number come to you, who recited My verses to you and warned you about meeting this day of yours? They will say, "We testify against ourselves." The worldly life has deceived them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were unbelievers.

131. This [will happen] because your Lord does not destroy cities unjustly while their inhabitants are in ignorance.

132. For all there will be steps corresponding to what they have accomplished. Your Lord is not ignorant of what they do.

133. Your Lord is rich and has mercy. If He wills, He will destroy you and make whom He wills your successors, just as He created you from the offspring of other people.

134. Verily, what is promised to you will come, and you will not be able to avoid it.

135. Say: “O my people! Do as you please and I will do the same. You will find out who will get the Last Abode. Verily, the wrongdoers will not prosper."

136. They assign to Allah a share of what He has grown from crops and livestock, and according to their understanding they say: “This is for Allah, and this is for partners.” What is destined for partners does not fall to Allah, and what is destined for Allah falls to partners. It's bad what they decide!

137. Thus, to many polytheists their associates presented as beautiful the murder of children in order to destroy them and to make their religion confused. Had Allah willed, they would not have acted in this way. Leave them together with their inventions.

138. Based on their assumptions, they say: “This cattle and these crops are forbidden. Only those whom we allow can eat them. On one cattle they forbid to ride [on horseback and carry loads], and over the other cattle they do not pronounce the name of Allah, slandering Him. He will reward them for what they invent!

139. They say: "What is in the wombs of this beast is permitted to our men and forbidden to our wives." If he is born dead, then they all get the right to him. [Allah] will reward them for what they attributed, because He is the Wise, the Knower.

140. Those who killed their children out of stupidity, without any knowledge, suffered damage, and forbade what Allah endowed them with, slandering Allah. They fell into error and did not follow the straight path.

141. He is the One Who created gardens with and without trellises, date palms and cereals with different flavors, olives and pomegranates, having similarities and differences. Eat these fruits when they are ripe, and pay tribute on the day of harvest, but do not overdo it, for He does not like those who overdo it.

142. Among the cattle there are those intended for transportation and those not intended for this. Eat from what Allah has given you, and do not follow in the footsteps of the devil, because he is a clear enemy to you.

143. Eight paired individuals: two of the sheep and two of the goats. Say: “Did he forbid males or females? Or what is in the wombs of females? Tell me with knowledge if you are telling the truth."

144. Two camels and two cows. Say: “Did he forbid males or females? Or what is in the wombs of females? Or were you present when Allah commanded you to do so?” Who is more unjust than the one who slanders Allah in order to deceive people without any knowledge? Verily, Allah does not guide the wrongdoers.

145. Say: “From what was revealed to me, I find it forbidden to eat only carrion, shed blood and pig meat, which [or: which] is filthy, as well as unlawful [meat of animals] slaughtered not for the sake of Allah ". If someone is forced to do this without disobeying and without transgressing [the limits of what is necessary], then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

146. To the Jews We have forbidden all animals with undivided hooves. We forbade them the fat of cows and sheep, except that which is found on the spine and entrails, or mixed with the bones. Thus We punished them for their excesses. Verily, We are truthful.

147. If they consider you a liar, then say: "Your Lord has a vast mercy, but His punishment cannot be turned away from sinful people."

148. The polytheists will say: “If Allah had willed, then neither we nor our fathers would have included partners and would not have forbidden anything.” In the same way, the messengers were considered liars by those who were before them, until they tasted Our punishment. Say: “Do you have any knowledge that you can present to us? You just follow assumptions and lie."

149. Say: “Allah has a convincing proof. If He had willed, He would have led all of you to the straight path.”

150. Say: "Bring your witnesses who will testify that Allah has forbidden this." Even if they begin to testify, do not testify with them and do not indulge the desires of those who considered Our signs a lie, who do not believe in the Hereafter and equate others with their Lord.

151. Say: "Come, and I will read what your Lord forbade you." Associate no one with Him, and do good to your parents. And do not kill your children for fear of poverty, for We provide food for you along with them. And do not approach vile deeds, overt or covert. Do not kill a soul that Allah has forbidden to kill unless you have the right to do so. This is what Allah has commanded you so that you may understand.

152. Do not approach the property of an orphan, except for his good, until he reaches adulthood. Fill the measure and scales with justice. We do not impose on a person beyond his capacity. When you say a word, be fair, even if it's to a relative. Be faithful to the agreement with Allah. This is what Allah commanded you, so that you may remember the admonition.

153. This is My straight path. Follow him and do not follow the [other] paths, for they will lead you astray from His path. He commanded you this, so that you may be afraid.

154. We also bestowed on Musa [Moses] the Scripture as a consummation [of mercy] to one who was virtuous, as an explanation of every thing, a right guidance and mercy, so that they would believe in meeting their Lord.

155. This is the Blessed Scripture which We sent down. Follow him and be God-fearing - perhaps you will be pardoned.

156. We sent it down so that you would not say: "The Scripture was sent down only to two communities before us, and we did not know anything about what they studied."

157. Or lest you say: "If the Scripture had been sent down to us, we would have followed the straight path better than they." You have already received a clear sign from your Lord, guidance and mercy. Who is more unjust than the one who considers the signs of Allah a lie and turns away from them? We will repay those who turn away from Our signs with severe torment because they turned away.

158. Do they expect anything other than that angels will appear to them, or your Lord will appear, or some of the signs of your Lord will appear? On the day when certain signs of your Lord appear, faith will not benefit the soul if it has not believed before or has not acquired good through its faith. Say, "Wait, and we'll wait too."

159. You have nothing to do with those who split their religion and divided into sects. Their cause is with Allah, and later He will inform them of what they did.

160. Whoever comes with a good deed will receive a tenfold reward. And whoever comes with an evil deed, he will receive only a corresponding reward, and they will not be treated unfairly.

161. Say: “Indeed, my Lord has guided me to the straight path, to the right religion, the faith of Ibrahim [Abraham]. He was a Hanif and was not from among the polytheists.

162. Say: “Indeed, my prayer and my sacrifice [or worship], my life and my death are dedicated to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

163. He has no partners. This is commanded to me, and I am the first of the Muslims.

164. Say: Shall I seek another Lord besides Allah, while He is the Lord of all things? Each soul acquires [sins] only to the detriment of itself. Not a single soul will bear another's burden. Then you have to return to your Lord, and He will tell you about what you differed [in opinion].

165. It is He who made you successors on earth and exalted some of you above others in degrees, in order to test you by what He has given you. Verily, your Lord is swift in punishment. Verily He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

Description of Surah an-Nas

Surahs from the Qur'an have been sent down for this mankind. From Arabic, the word "an-Nas" is translated as "People". The Almighty sent down a sura in Mecca, it contains 6 verses. The Lord addresses the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with the requirement to always resort to His help, to seek only protection from evil from Allah. By "evil" is meant not so much the sorrows that accompany the earthly path of people, but the imperceptible evil that we ourselves commit, following the lead of our own passions, desires, whims. The Almighty calls this evil “the evil of Satan”: human passions are a genie-tempter who constantly tries to lead a person astray from the righteous path. Shaitan disappears only at the mention of Allah: that is why it is so important to read regularly and.

It must be remembered that the devil uses to deceive people those vices that are hidden in themselves, to which they often strive with all their hearts. Only an appeal to the Almighty can save a person from the evil that lives in him.

The Almighty, turning to His Prophet (peace be upon him), requires him and all his followers to always seek salvation and protection from the Lord. A person will find salvation from Allah from all creatures that can harm him. “Evil of darkness” is an important epithet that denotes the anxiety, fear and loneliness that people experience at night: such a state is familiar to everyone. Sura "Dawn", insha Allah, protects a person from the instigations of shaitans, who seek to sow hatred between people, cut off family and friendly ties, instill envy in their souls. Prayer, insha Allah will save from the wicked, who lost the mercy of Allah because of his spiritual weakness, and now seeks to plunge other people into the abyss of sin.

Surah Al-Ikhlas

Very short, easy to remember, but at the same time, extremely effective and useful sura. To listen to Al-Ikhlas in Arabic, you can use video or MP3. The word "Al-Ikhlas" in Arabic means "Sincerity". Sura is a sincere declaration of love and devotion to Allah.

Transcription (phonetic sound of the sura in Russian):

Bismi-llayahi-rrahmaani-rrahiim

  1. Kul hu Allah ahad.
  2. Allah s-samad.
  3. Lam yalid wa lam yulad
  4. Walam yakullahu kufuan ahad.

Semantic translation into Russian:

  1. Say: "He is Allah, the One,
  2. Allah is self-sufficient.
  3. He did not give birth and was not born,
  4. and there is none equal to Him.”

Description of Surah Al-Ikhlas

Sura "Sincerity" Allah sent down to the Prophet in Mecca. Al-Ikhlas contains 4 verses. Muhammad told his disciples that once he was mockingly asked about his attitude towards the Almighty. The answer was Surah Al-Ikhlas, which contains the statement that Allah is Self-sufficient, that He is One and Only in His perfection, that He has always been, and there is no one equal to Him in strength.

With the requirement to tell them about His God, the pagans who professed polytheism turned to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The literal translation of the question they used was "What is your Lord made of?". For paganism, a material understanding of God was common: they created idols from wood and metal, worshiped animals and plants. The answer of Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) shocked the pagans so much that they abandoned the old faith and recognized Allah.

Many hadiths point to the benefits of Al-Ikhlas. Within the framework of one article it is impossible to name all the advantages of the sura, there are so many of them. Here are just the most important ones:

In one hadith it is said how Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) turned to people with the following question: “Is not each of you able to read a third of the Qur'an in a night?”. The townspeople were amazed and asked how this was possible. The Prophet replied: “Read Surah Al-Ikhlas! It is equal to one third of the Qur'an." This hadeeth suggests that in the sura "Sincerity" so much wisdom is concentrated, how much can not be found in any other text. But not one thinking person is 100% sure that this is exactly what the Prophet said word for word, peace be upon him, even if this hadith (the word "hadith" is translated from Arabic as "story") is good in meaning, because if he (peace be upon him) him) did not say so, then this is a slander and a lie on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

It is important to know: all these hadiths may not be reliable. Hadiths must be looked at for their correspondence with the Qur'an. If a hadith contradicts the Qur'an, then it must be discarded, even if it somehow manages to be put into collections of reliable hadith.

Another hadith retells the words of the Prophet to us: “If a believer is fifty times every day, then on the Day of Resurrection a voice from above will be heard over his grave: “Arise, O praiser of Allah, enter Paradise!”. In addition, the Messenger said: “If a person reads Surah Al-Ikhlas a hundred times, then Almighty Allah will forgive him the sins of fifty years, provided that he does not commit sins of four types: the sin of bloodshed, the sin of acquisitiveness and hoarding, the sin of debauchery and the sin drinking alcohol." Saying a Surah is a work that a person does for the sake of Allah. If this work is done with diligence, the Almighty will surely reward the one who prays.

Hadiths repeatedly point to the reward that is received for reading the sura "Sincerity". The reward is proportional to the number of readings of the prayer, the time spent on this. One of the most famous hadiths contains the words of the Messenger, demonstrating the incredible significance of Al-Ikhlas: “If anyone reads Surah Al-Ikhlas once, he will be overshadowed by the grace of the Almighty. Whoever reads it twice, then he and his whole family will be under the shadow of grace. If someone reads it three times, then he himself, his family and his neighbors will receive grace from above. Whoever reads it twelve times, Allah will grant twelve palaces in Paradise. Whoever reads it twenty times, he [on the Day of Judgment] will walk with the prophets together like this (saying these words, the Prophet connected and raised his middle and index fingers) Whoever reads it a hundred times, the Almighty will forgive all his sins for twenty-five years except for the sin of bloodshed and the sin of default. Whoever reads it two hundred times, the sins of fifty years will be forgiven. Anyone who reads this surah four hundred times will get a reward equal to the reward of four hundred martyrs who shed blood and whose horses were wounded in battle. Whoever reads Surah Al-Ikhlas a thousand times, he will not die without seeing his place in Paradise, or until he is shown it.

Another hadith contains a kind of recommendation for people who are going on a journey or are already on the road. Travelers are instructed to recite Al-Ikhlas eleven times while grasping the doorposts of their house with both hands. If this is done, then the person will be protected on the way from shaitans, their negative impact and attempts to instill fear and uncertainty in the soul of the traveler. In addition, the recitation of the sura "Sincerity" is a guarantee of a safe return to places dear to the heart.

It is important to know: no sura in itself can help a person in any way, only Allah can help a person and believers rely on Him! And many hadiths, as we see, contradict the Koran - the direct speech of Allah Himself!

There is another option for reading Surah Al-Ikhlas - in combination with Al-Nas and Al-Falak. Each prayer is said three times. Reading these three suras is a protection from evil forces. As the prayer is said, it is necessary to blow on the person we want to protect. Surah is especially useful for children. If the baby cries, screams, kicks his legs, there are signs of the evil eye, be sure to try Al-Ikhlas, Al-Nas and Al-Falak. The effect will be stronger if you read the suras before going to bed.

Sura Yasin

The greatest surah of the Qur'an is Yasin. This sacred text should be taught by all Muslims. You can use audio recordings or videos to make it easier to remember. The Surah is quite large, it contains 83 verses.

Semantic translation:

  1. Ya. Syn.
  2. I swear by the wise Quran!
  3. Indeed, you are one of the messengers
  4. on a straight path.
  5. He was sent down by the Mighty, the Merciful,
  6. so that you warn people whose fathers no one warned, because of which they remained careless ignoramuses.
  7. Most of them the Word has come true, and they won't believe.
  8. Verily, We have put shackles on their necks up to the chin, and their heads are lifted up.
  9. We set up a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them and covered them with a veil, and they do not see.
  10. They don't care if you warn them or not. They don't believe.
  11. You can only warn those who have followed the Reminder and feared the Merciful, not seeing Him with their own eyes. Rejoice him with the news of forgiveness and a generous reward.
  12. Verily, We revive the dead and record what they did and what they left behind. Every thing We have counted in a clear guide (of the Preserved Tablet).
  13. As a parable, bring to them the inhabitants of the village, to whom the messengers came.
  14. When We sent two messengers to them, they considered them liars, and then We reinforced them with a third. They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to you."
  15. They said: “You are the same people as we are. The Merciful One did not send down anything, and you are only lying.”
  16. They said, “Our Lord knows that we have indeed been sent to you.
  17. We are only entrusted with the clear communication of the revelation.”
  18. They said, “Verily, we have seen in you an evil omen. If you do not stop, then we will certainly beat you with stones and you will be touched by painful sufferings from us.
  19. They said, “Your evil omen will turn against you. Do you consider it a bad omen if you are warned? Oh no! You are people who have crossed the boundaries of what is permitted!”
  20. A man hastily came from the outskirts of the city and said: “O my people! Follow the messengers.
  21. Follow those who do not ask you for a reward and follow the straight path.
  22. And why should I not worship the One who created me and to whom you will be returned?
  23. Shall I worship other gods besides Him? For if the Merciful wishes to harm me, their intercession will not help me in any way, and they will not save me.
  24. That's when I find myself in an obvious delusion.
  25. Verily, I have believed in your Lord. Listen to me."
  26. He was told: "Enter Paradise!" He said, "Oh, if only my people knew
  27. why my Lord forgave me (or that my Lord forgave me) and that He made me one of the honored!
  28. After him, We did not send down any army from heaven against his people, and We did not intend to send down.
  29. There was only one voice, and they died out.
  30. O woe to the slaves! Not a single messenger came to them that they did not mock.
  31. Do they not see how many generations We destroyed before them and that they will not return to them?
  32. Indeed, all of them will be collected from Us.
  33. A sign for them is the dead earth, which We revived and extracted from it the grain on which they feed.
  34. We made gardens of palms and vines on it and made springs flow in them,
  35. that they eat their fruits and what they have created with their own hands (or that they eat fruits that they have not created with their own hands). Won't they be grateful?
  36. Exalted is He Who created in pairs what the earth grows, themselves and what they do not know.
  37. A sign for them is the night, which We separate from the day, and now they are plunged into darkness.
  38. The sun is sailing towards its location. Such is the arrangement of the Mighty, the Knower.
  39. We have ordained positions for the moon until it becomes again like an old palm branch.
  40. The sun does not have to overtake the moon, and the night does not lead the day. Each floats in orbit.
  41. A sign for them is that We carried their offspring in an overflowing ark.
  42. We created for them in his likeness what they sit on.
  43. If We will, We will drown them, and then no one will save them, and they themselves will not be saved,
  44. unless We show them mercy and allow them to enjoy benefits until a certain time.
  45. When they are told: “Fear what is before you and what is after you, so that you may have mercy,” they do not answer.
  46. Whatever sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, they certainly turn away from it.
  47. When they are told: “Spend from what Allah has given you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed the one whom Allah would feed if He wished? Verily, you are only in apparent error.”
  48. They say, "When will this promise come true if you're telling the truth?"
  49. They have nothing to look forward to but a single voice that will strike them when they quarrel.
  50. They will not be able to leave a will or return to their families.
  51. The horn will be blown, and now they rush to their Lord from the graves.
  52. They will say: “Woe to us! Who raised us from the place where we slept? This is what the Merciful promised, and the messengers spoke the truth.”
  53. There will be only one voice, and they will all be gathered from Us.
  54. No injustice will be done to a single soul today, and you will only be rewarded for what you have done.
  55. Indeed, the inhabitants of Paradise today will be occupied with enjoyment.
  56. They and their spouses will lie in the shadows on the beds, leaning against.
  57. There is fruit for them and everything they need.
  58. The merciful Lord greets them with the word: "Peace!"
  59. Separate today, O sinners!
  60. Haven't I commanded you, O sons of Adam, not to worship Satan, who is your open enemy,
  61. and worship Me? This is the straight path.
  62. He has already misled many of you. Don't you understand?
  63. Here is Gehenna that was promised to you.
  64. Burn in it today because you didn't believe."
  65. Today We will seal their mouths. Their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to what they have acquired.
  66. If We will, We will deprive them of their sight, and then they will rush to the Path. But how will they see?
  67. If We will, We will disfigure them in their places, and then they will not be able to move forward or return.
  68. To whom We grant long life, We give the opposite form. Don't they understand?
  69. We did not teach him (Muhammad) poetry, and it is not befitting for him. This is nothing but a Reminder and a clear Quran,
  70. that he may warn those who are alive, and that the Word may be fulfilled concerning unbelievers.
  71. Do they not see that out of what Our hands (We Ourselves) have done, We have created cattle for them, and that they own them?
  72. We have made him subject to them. They ride on some of them, and feed on others.
  73. They bring them benefit and drink. Won't they be grateful?
  74. But they worship other gods instead of Allah in the hope that they will be helped.
  75. They cannot help them, although they are a ready army for them (the pagans are ready to fight for their idols, or the idols will be a ready army against the pagans in the Hereafter).
  76. Don't let their words make you sad. We know what they hide and what they reveal.
  77. Can't man see that We created him from a drop? And here he is openly bickering!
  78. He gave us a parable and forgot about his creation. He said, "Who will revive the bones that have decayed?"
  79. Say: “The One Who created them the first time will revive them. He is aware of every creation."
  80. He created fire for you out of green wood, and now you are kindling fire from him.
  81. Is He Who created the heavens and the earth not able to create like them? Of course, because He is the Creator, the Knower.
  82. When He desires something, it is worthwhile for Him to say: “Be!” - how it comes true.
  83. Exalted is He in Whose Hand is power over all things! To Him you will be returned.

Sura Yasin Allah sent Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Mecca. In this text, the Almighty informed the Prophet (sallallahu ‘aleihi wa sallam) that he is the messenger of the Lord, and from the moment of revelation, his task is to enlighten, teach and exhort the people, vegetating in the abyss of polytheism. The sura also speaks of those who dare to disobey the instructions of Allah, who refuse to accept the Messenger - these unfortunates will face severe punishment and universal censure.

“Allah (God, Lord) ... There is no god but Him, the Eternally Living, Existing. Neither sleep nor slumber will overtake him. He owns everything in heaven and on earth. Who will intercede before Him, except by His will!? He knows what was and what will be. No one is able to comprehend even particles from His knowledge, except by His will. Heaven and Earth are embraced by the course (Great Throne) of Him, and He does not bother to take care of them [About everything that is in our galactic system]. He is the Most High [by all characteristics above everything and everything], the Great [His greatness has no limits]!” (see, Holy Quran, sura “al-Baqarah”, ayat 255 (2:255)).

Ayat Al-Kursi is included in Sura Al-Baqara (translated from Arabic - a cow). According to the account in the sura, ayat 255th. It should be said right away that many prominent theologians believe that Al-Kusri is a separate sura, and not an ayat. Be that as it may, the Messenger stated that the verse is the key one in the Koran, it contains the most important statement that distinguishes Islam from other religions - the dogma of monotheism. In addition, the verse gives evidence of the greatness and infinite nature of the Lord. In this sacred text, Allah is called "Ismi 'azam" - this name is considered the most worthy name of God.

It is important to know: you should not read the Quran loudly in a chant, and even more so compete in it - while listening to such melodies you will fall into a trance and you will not understand the most important thing - the meaning that Allah conveyed to mankind to observe the Quran and meditate on His verses.

Surah Al-Baqarah

- the second and most voluminous in the Qur'an. The sacred text contains 286 verses that reveal the very essence of religion. The sura contains the teachings of Allah, the instruction of the Lord to Muslims, a description of how they should behave in various situations. In general, we can say that Surah Al-Baqarah is a text that regulates the whole life of a believer. The document says almost everything: about revenge, about the distribution of inheritance among the relatives of the deceased, about the use of alcoholic beverages, about playing cards and dice. Much attention is paid to the issues of marriage and divorce, the trading side of life, and relations with debtors.

From the Arabic language "Al-Baqara" is translated as "Cow". This name is associated with a parable, which is given in the sura. The parable tells about the Israelite cow and Musa, peace be upon him. In addition, the text contains many stories about the life of the Prophet and his followers. In "Al-Baqara" it is directly stated that the Koran is a guide in the life of a Muslim, which is given to him by the Almighty. In addition, in the sura there is a mention of believers who have received favor from Allah, as well as those who have angered the Almighty with disobedience and a tendency to disbelief.

Let us remember the words of the Great Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Do not turn your houses into graves. Shaitan flees from the house where Surah al-Baqarah is being recited. This exceptionally high assessment of the Surah "The Cow" allows us to consider it the most important in the Koran. The great significance of the sura is also emphasized by another hadith: “Read the Qur'an, because on the Day of Resurrection he will come and will intercede for his own. Read two blooming suras - suras "al-Baqara" and "Ali Imran", because on the Day of Resurrection they will appear like two clouds or two flocks of birds lined up in rows and will intercede for their own. Read Surah al-Baqarah, because there is grace and abundance in it, and without it there is sadness and annoyance, and sorcerers cannot cope with it.

In Surah Al-Baqarah, the last 2 verses are considered the main ones:

  • 285. The messenger and the believers believed in what was sent down to him from the Lord. They all believed in Allah, His angels, His Scriptures and His messengers. They say, "We make no distinction between His messengers." They say: “Listen and obey! We ask for Your forgiveness, our Lord, and we will arrive to You.
  • 286. Allah does not burden a person beyond his capacity. He will get what he has acquired, and what he has acquired will be against him. Our Lord! Do not punish us if we have forgotten or made a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place on us the burden that You placed on our predecessors. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot afford. Be kind to us! Forgive us and have mercy! You are our Protector. Help us to prevail over unbelieving people.

In addition, the sura contains the verse "Al-Kursi", which we have quoted above. The great meaning and incredible importance of Al-Kursi has been repeatedly emphasized by leading theologians who referred to famous hadiths. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, calls on Muslims to read these verses, teach them, teach them to their family members, wives and children. After all, the last two verses “Al-Bakar” and “Al-Kursi” are a direct appeal to the Almighty.

Interesting facts about Surah Al-Fatiha

Undoubtedly, the sura "Al-Fatiha" is the greatest sura of the Koran. This is confirmed by the epithets that it is customary to designate this unique text: “Opening Book”, “Mother of the Quran”, etc. The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him!) repeatedly pointed out the special significance and value of this sura. For example, the Prophet said the following: "Whoever did not read the Opening Book (i.e. Surah al-Fatiha), he did not perform a prayer." In addition, the following words belong to him: "Whoever makes a prayer without reading the Opening Book in it, then it is not complete, not complete, not complete, not finished." In this hadith, special attention is drawn to the threefold repetition of the word "not complete." The Prophet designed the phrase in such a way as to increase the impact on the listener, to emphasize that without reading Al-Fatih, prayer may not reach the Almighty.

Every Muslim should know that the Al-Fatiha sura is an indispensable element of prayer. The text deserves the honor of being in front of any sura of the Qur'an. "Al-Fatiha" is the most read sura in the Islamic world, the verses from it are pronounced constantly and in each of the rak'ahs.

One of the hadiths claims that the Almighty will reward the reader of the Al-Fatiha surah to the same extent as the person who read 2/3 of the Koran. Another hadith quotes the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him!): “I received 4 things from the special treasures of ‘Arsh (Throne), from which no one ever received anything. These are Surah Fatiha, Ayatul Kursi, the last verses of Surah Bakara and Surah Kausar. The colossal significance of Surah Al-Fatiha is also emphasized by the following hadith: “Four times Iblis had to grieve, cry and tear his hair out: the first when he was cursed, the second when he was driven from heaven to earth, the third when the Prophet (sallallahu ' Aleihi wa sallam) received the fourth prophecy when Surah Fatiha was sent down.

“Muslim Sharif” contains one very revealing hadith, in which the words of the Great Prophet (may Allah bless him and be present) are quoted: “Today one of the doors of heaven opened, which had never opened before. And one angel descended from it, who had never descended. And the angel said: "Receive the good news about two nurs that have never been given to anyone before you. One is the surah "Fatiha", and the second is the end of the surah "Baqarah (the last three verses)".

What is the first thing that comes to mind in this hadeeth? Of course, the fact that the suras "Fatiha" and "Bakara" are called "nurs" in it. Translated from Arabic, this word means "light." On the Day of Judgment, when Allah will judge people for their earthly path, the read suras will become a light that will attract the attention of the Almighty and allow Him to separate the righteous from the sinners.

"Al-Fatiha" is "Ismi A'zam", that is, a text that should be read in any situation. Even in ancient times, doctors noticed that the sura written in rose oil on the bottom of porcelain dishes makes the water exceptionally healing. The patient needs to drink water for 40 days. In a month he will feel relief, God willing. To improve the condition with a toothache, headache, pain in the abdomen, the sura must be read exactly 7 times.

Surah An-Nas and its virtues

The final, one hundred and fourteenth sura "An-Nas" ("People") of the Holy Quran is considered special among Muslims. It consists of six amazing-sounding verses sent down during the Meccan period of the Prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh)

Surah text in Arabic and translation:

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah the Gracious and Merciful!

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ

Say: "I take refuge in the protection of the Lord of men,

مَلِكِ النَّاسِ

The king of people

إِلَهِ النَّاسِ

God of people

مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ

from the evil of the tempter who disappears at the remembrance of Allah,

الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ

which incites in the breast of men,

مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَ النَّاسِ

from jinn and humans.

"An-Nas" is a kind of continuation of the previous surah - "Al-Falyak", in which the Creator calls on His creatures to resort to His protection from the evil that exists in the world. The instigators of evil, as it is said in the last verses of the Koran, can be both people themselves and shaitan with jinn. However, whatever the source of evil, one should rely solely on the Lord of the worlds, who is the best of helpers.

“On this night, Allah sent down to me verses that have no likeness. These are Surah Al-Falyak and An-Nas (Muslim, Nasai, at-Tirmidhi).

Hadiths on the Importance of Surah An-Nas

In a conversation with one of the companions, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: “O Abu Habis! Shall I tell you about the best words that people can utter who seek the protection of Allah? He replied: “Of course, O Messenger of Allah!” Then the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, read the last two suras of the Holy Quran - “Al-Falyak” and “An-Nas” - and said: “These are two suras through which [people] resort to the protection of Allah” (the hadith was narrated by An -Nasai, al-Bagavi, etc.)

Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, resorted to the protection of Allah from the evil eye of people and jinn with the help of prayers. When two suras (“Al-Falyak” and “An-Nas”) were sent down, through which one could resort to the protection of the Almighty, he began to repeat [only] them and left all the other protecting prayers (at-Tirmizi)

Every night before going to bed, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, blew on his palms and then read the last three suras of the Holy Quran - Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falak and An-Nas. After that, he rubbed the whole body with his palms three times, starting with the head and face. As stipulated in one of the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, the person who said and did all of the above will be protected from evil until morning (Sahih al-Bukhari).

This is a Medinan sura, consists of six verses.

Meaning:

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Merciful!

1. Say: “I turn for protection to the Lord of people [to Allah],

2. Ruler [Lord] of people,

3. God of people

4. from evil (Satan) inspiring (evil), (and at the mention of the name of Allah) retreating,

5. who inspires evil in the breasts [souls] of people,

6. (And Satan happens) from (among) genies and people.

Introductory Notes

This sura, the second of the suras muawwazatein(beginning with the words "Auzu ..." - "I resort (to the protection of Allah")), is a continuation and expansion of the meaning of the previous sura and, in a sense, an addition to it. In Sura Al-Falyak, the believers are called upon to seek protection from Allah from the difficulties and hardships of life, while in this sura, the believers are called to seek protection from the trials and tribulations of the future life. In the interpretation of Surah Al-Falyak, it was said that the word "sharr" can be understood as "evil", "harm" and even "causes that can cause harm, pain and misfortune". In this surah, we are looking for protection from evil and the causes of all evils, which are called instigations and suggestions from the shaitan. Since the difficulties and tribulations of the Hereafter are more serious, the last chapter of the Qur'an strongly emphasizes the importance of invoking Allah's protection against this evil (the Hereafter).

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ

"Say: 'I turn to the Lord of men for protection.'

Name of Allah "Rabb" stands for "He Who Gives Food" and refers to the Most High, the Giver of Food, who takes care of all creatures under all circumstances. In this verse, He (Allah) is called the "Lord of the people", while in the previous sura He is called the "Lord of the Dawn", since in the previous sura the goal was to seek protection from external, physical difficulties and deprivations of life. However, human existence is not limited to this - animals also experience physical difficulties and hardships, however, only people are exposed to the instigations of the shaitan and the influence of the jinn (Mazhari from Baidawi).

مَلِكِ النَّاسِ

إِلَهِ النَّاسِ

"To the Ruler [Lord] of the people, the Lord of the people"

The reason why the attribute “Lord of the people” (“Maliki n-us”) was added to the word “Rabb” is that the word “Rabb” can also be used in relation to a person in some private matters: for example, in the phrase "rabb ad-dar" (owner of a house, estate), "rabb al-mal" (owner of property, wealth). However, not a single owner or owner is a "lord", "master". Therefore, the word “Malik” (ruler, lord) was added to the word “Rabb” to show that only He (Allah) alone is not only the “Lord of the people”, but also the “Lord”, “King of the people”.

Moreover, not every king is worthy of worship. Therefore, one more quality of "Ilyahi n-us" - "Lord" was added to the word "us", "people". The divine wisdom that lies in the combination of all these qualities ("Lord of people", "Lord of people"), is that each of these qualities implies an appeal for protection. Each master has servants and protects them. Similarly, every king has subjects and takes care of them. Therefore, the appeal for protection to the ruler and lord becomes even more obvious (from these qualities). But only Allah, and no one else, is described by all these qualities at the same time. Thus, turning to Him for protection through the utterance of (given) His qualities is the greatest protection and such an appeal (using His given qualities) is most likely to be accepted.

Since the first sentence contains the word "us" (people), the second and third verses should be referred to them (to the same) by the pronunciation of the words "malikihim" (their lord) and not just by the pronunciation of the word "us" (people). Such repetition (the words "us" in the sura) was deliberately used to add strength and clarity to the text, creating rhyme and melodic progression (suras).

Scholars have explained the reason for the repeated repetition of the word "us" (it is repeated five times in this sura) in different ways. Here is one of those interpretations:
*For the first time, it applies to children. The word "Rabb", which refers to the care and protection of Allah, alludes to this, because children are most in need of food and care.

The second occurrence (of this word) refers to youth, an allusion to this in the context of the word "Malik" (king, lord), which refers to the Sovereignty of Allah.

Its third use refers to adulthood - older people are no longer so busy with this world and think about eternity, about Allah, surrender to Him alone, unconditionally obey Him and devote their love to Him alone. The context for this is the word "Ilyah" (Lord), which indicates the worship of the Almighty.

The fourth use of this word refers to the righteous servants of Allah. This is hinted at by the word "waswasa" (evil whisperings), since the devil is the enemy of the righteous servants of Allah. His task is to instill evil thoughts in the hearts of such people.

The fifth appearance (the use of the word) refers to those who do evil, as we seek protection from their evil deeds.

مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ

"From evil (Satan) inspiring (evil), (and at the mention of the name of Allah) retreating (when pronouncing the name of Allah)."

After mentioning the three qualities of Allah, this verse describes the one from whom we seek protection. He is "an instigator who inspires us with evil." Word "vasvas" in the original there is an infinitive with the meaning "waswasa" (whisper - to communicate something using breath instead of voice, in a barely audible way). However, an exaggeration (hyperbole) is used here, referring to shaitan in the sense that he is an incarnate whisperer (inspiring evil). The whispering of the devil means that he is trying to make people obey him, instilling in them all sorts of fears and false thoughts that he throws into a person’s heart without uttering a word (Kurtubi).

Word "hannas" comes from the word "hanasa" which means "sneaking up, or approaching furtively." Satan got this name because he lurks in the heart of a person: when a person falls into distraction, he starts whispering, but when a person remembers Allah, he runs away. When a person forgets about Allah again, the devil returns, but when he remembers Allah again, he runs away again. This is repeated all the time. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“Allah built two houses in the heart of man, an angel lives in one, and a devil lives in the other. The angel incites him to good deeds, and the shaitan directs him to evil deeds. When a person remembers Allah, the shaitan retreats, when he stops remembering Allah, the shaitan settles in the heart of a person and inspires him with evil thoughts.(Narrated by Abu Yala with reference to the authority of Anas, quoted by Mazkhari).
Ayat 114:6

مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَ النَّاسِ

"(And Satan happens) from (among) genies and people."

Here the expression "waswas" mentioned in verse 4 is explained, with the meaning that shaitans can be among people and jinns who inspire evil in the hearts of people. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) found pleasure in the constant search for protection against the evil and vile shaitans from among people and jinn.

A question may arise here. Obviously, a shaitan can inspire people with evil thoughts and deeds in the heart, but how can shaitans from among people make an evil suggestion? They come straight up and openly say something that is not waswas. The answer is that human devils can also instill doubts in the minds of people, without their open, clear pronunciation.

Shaykh Izzuddin ibn Abdussalam writes in his work Al-Fawaid fi Mushkilat il-Quran that whispering from people refers to whispering our own nafs (which is inside a person). Just as Satan throws evil thoughts on a person, so the nafs of a person incites him to evil. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us to seek protection from Allah from the evil of our own self in the following supplication:

“O Allah! I seek refuge in You from my own evil, from the evil of Satan and the evil of idolatry.”

To be continued inshaAllah...
