Helpful Hints

We spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and we want everything to be at hand.

You can organize your kitchen so that it is as convenient as possible to use it.

Find out what, and most importantly, how you can do to organize the kitchen as conveniently as possible.

DIY kitchen. Convenient storage.

For such a storage of all kinds of food that does not need a refrigerator, you need to purchase a hanging shoe rack.

Attach the holder to the door with a nail, put something kids love in the bottom pockets so they can easily reach.

Little things for the kitchen with their own hands. Clothespins.

Sometimes when buying shorts or a skirt in a store, you may be left with just such a hanger.

Remove the clothespins and use them in a similar way. You can also use regular clothespins, which you don't need yet.

DIY needlework for the kitchen. Convenient organization of things.

For competent organization of things in the kitchen, namely under the sink, you can use a tensile rod. Install the rod and hang all the spray bottles.

You can also screw shelves to the wall of the drawer for every little thing such as gloves, sponges, brushes.

A bag for various things can be hung on the door.

Place a few extra drawers downstairs, and install hooks on the cabinet doors to hang towels and/or brushes.

DIY kitchen crafts

If you have an old rake, you can make a handy glass holder out of it. You just need to get rid of the wooden part (handle) and attach the rake to the wall or cabinet.

For convenience, you can drive a nail into the wall, wrap a rake with wire and hang it on a nail (hook).

You can use paper holders as shelves in which you can put various small items.

To attach such a stand to a wall or cabinet, use double-sided tape or nails (these are best used if the stand has holes through which you can hang the stand).

How to design a kitchen with your own hands. Container for plastic bags.

For such a holder, you need a small rectangular box - in it you can store garbage bags and more.

Original kitchen with their own hands. Knife holder.

Prepare a regular, empty glass (metal or wooden) container.

Bamboo sticks (can be substituted with skewers)

Spray paint (or acrylic paint) - optional

Step 1: Cardboard Model

To make the stand beautiful, you need to make a cardboard model in order to make sure that all measurements are taken correctly. To do this, you need to put a bottle of wine on the table and distribute glasses evenly around it, after which we measure the distance between two adjacent glasses as shown in the figure. Usually this is the length and width of the rack. Round it up to get a little more free space.
Cut out a piece of cardboard to size. In this case it is 18x18 cm and draw lines between the two groups at opposite corners to find the center. In order to make a circle in the center, you can use a glass.
Then we measure the width of the stem of the glass at its narrowest point. We draw lines in each corner of the cardboard a little wider than the legs so that it passes. If the glass is 11mm, make the width 13mm. Connect the lines at opposite corners to make an X.
At a distance from the center, which is equal to the radius of the bottle and the radius of the bottom of the glass a little more (on average 35 mm for a bottle and 30 mm for glass, + 3 mm for a margin, it turned out 78 mm) draw 4 circles. The diameter of the circles should be slightly larger than the X width that was drawn earlier. You can make circles with a compass or circle the salt shaker. These 4 circles will keep the glasses from slipping out.
Cut out the cardboard according to the marking and try it on. If it's not quite accurate, make another model to correct.

Step 2: Making a Wooden Stand

As soon as the cardboard model turned out (fitted in size), you can sit on a wooden board. We redraw the dimensions and markings from cardboard.
First, drill a hole in the center and 4 circles, using a drill and a drill, as shown in the photo, as it will be difficult to make them even if you start by cutting lines.
After the holes, we cut out everything else, namely the paths for the glasses.

Step 3: Sanding

Use sandpaper to smooth out all corners. To smooth the holes from the inside, wrap the pencil in it, so it will be easier to get to hard-to-reach places. If you want to give such a stand for glasses to someone, then you can paint it and varnish it to create a more presentable look.
There are many options for such coasters that can be made in the form of a circle, an octagon, and even make additional holes for a corkscrew and other items. Good luck!

Dremel offers a versatile hanging wine cabinet for wine storage.

What you need:

  • - wooden slats;
  • - 1 wooden block;
  • - multifunctional tool (here Dremel 4000);
  • - sanding attachment (430) 6.4 mm, grit 60;
  • - cutting disc for wood (SC544);
  • - universal drill (561);
  • - universal cutting kit (565);
  • - glue gun (here Dremel (930));
  • - screwdriver;
  • - screws;
  • - dowels;
  • - self-tapping screws;
  • - metal chain

Step 1

To make the component parts of the shelf, cut a block of wood into several pieces. The back and front of the shelf should be 50 x 2 cm and the sides should be 25 x 2 cm. Sand the edges of the workpieces with the Dremel 4000 and the Dremel sanding head (430), 6.4mm, 60 grit.

Step 2

Take wooden slats and cut them into 12 even pieces (you will need 2 coasters for each bottle). Each blank must be at least 22 cm in length. To make these stands, use your Dremel 4000 with a wood cutting disc (SC544).

Step 3

Take the front and back of the wine rack blanks and mark on them where the slats will be placed. Place pencil marks along the entire length of the finished front of the shelf - you will need them to cut the cuts for the bottles. In order to make it more convenient to place the bottles on the shelf, cut out semicircles in which the containers should fit. Use your Dremel 4000 and the Universal Cutting Kit (565) to get the job done. Sand the edges of the semi-circles using the Dremel 4000 Multi-Tool with a 6.4 mm Dremel sanding head, 60 grit (430).

Step 4

Secure the rails at the marked points using the Dremel Glue Gun (930). To complete the work on the shelf, it remains only to fasten all its parts with screws. Make holes in the shelf components and install metal corner brackets in them. Then screw in the 25mm screws and tighten them with a screwdriver. To make the wine rack even more convenient, you can install a lattice for hanging glasses on it. To do this, you just need to screw the metal grate on the back of the shelf with a screwdriver.

Step 5

Attach self-tapping screws to the corners of the front side of the wine rack. Attach a metal chain to them - with its help you can place the shelf anywhere in the kitchen.

Step 6

Now it only remains to choose a good place to hang crafts on a chain. To secure the wine cabinet, measure the distance between the self-tapping screws. According to it, make four holes in the ceiling using the Dremel 4000 and the Universal Bit (561), then insert the dowel and screw in four additional self-tapping screws. Hang a shelf.

The glass holder embodies a structure consisting of parallel rails, for which the objects themselves are attached. This is a convenient way to store wine glasses. It is installed on the surface of the table, ledges, in the kitchen cabinet.

Each person creates an atmosphere of convenience and comfort in his house or in his bar. Most often this applies to the kitchen area. But this room is in a damp environment, food is constantly being cooked on it. Soot, fumes, deposits from fat have a negative effect on glassware. It is better to take care of the presence of a structure with which it hangs. The best option is a holder for wine glasses.

In order to choose the right mount, it is determined what type of rack it is attached to:

After it became clear what kind of countertop is used, you can proceed to the choice of holders. There are such varieties:

The latch must be fixed in such a way that dust and other dirt cannot get into it. Otherwise, it will not fulfill its main function - to protect glass and crystal products.

How do they attach

There are several options for how to fix the holders:

  • The central type can be conical, round. Mounted on a pole located in the center.
  • Located on the side - on the railing. It can rotate around an axis or extend to the side.
  • Hanging wine glass holder is fixed to the ceiling.

The bracket is used to attach the device to the wall. It can be just for one glass or take up the entire space.

A multi-level system requires a pipe with a radius of five centimeters. The material used is brass or nickel. They are lightweight yet durable. With the help of flanges, it is attached to the ceiling, to the wall - with side fasteners. Roof rails are put on top, adjusting the height. Holders allow you to add, remove elements.

Another way is a chain. It will give the impression that the objects are just hanging in the air. Attach with a magnet. Such an illusion will attract attention, amaze with its originality. The stand is stable, it is almost impossible to overturn it.

Video: How to make a desktop glass holder with your own hands

Wooden holders, attached from the inside to the top wall of the cabinet, are a reliable and convenient device for storing fragile glasses. This simple device can be easily done with your own hands.

You will need:

3 wooden planks with a section of 2 × 1 cm, length 240 cm;

Ruler, pencil, awl, adhesive tape;

Miter box, hacksaw;

White glue, primer for wood;

Nails, hammer;

Narrow flat brush, matte white acrylic paint, medium flat brush;

Screws of medium thickness, a screwdriver, a drill and a drill of the same diameter as the screws.

Making holders for glasses with your own hands

Wood planks and screws are the basic material needed to make these handy wine glass holders.

1. Each plank must be cut into four parts. The cabinet in which we are going to install the holder has a depth of 50 cm.

The slats should be slightly shorter: 45 cm. In this case, the cabinet doors will not touch the glasses.

2. Mark the cut points on the planks with a ruler and pencil. Place the bar in the miter box, hold it with your hand and cut it. Cut out all 12 pieces in the same way.

3. The resulting planks must be connected in pairs at an angle of 90 ° to get six stops in the shape of the letter L. Glue the side of one plank with glue. Apply glue along the long side of the other plank, close to the edge. Connect the planks and hammer four nails along the connection. Connect the rest of the planks in the same way. Leave for 24 hours to dry.

4. Apply a primer to the holders with a narrow brush and allow to dry for 4 hours. Paint the holders with white acrylic paint using a medium flat brush: first apply one coat of paint and let dry for 8 hours, then apply a second coat and leave for 12 hours to dry.

5. Mark the locations for the screw holes. Insert a drill bit of the same diameter as the screws into the drill and drill holes while holding the drill vertically.

6. Measure the diameter of the bottoms of the glasses to determine the distance between the holders.

7. On the top wall of the cabinet on the inside, mark the lines along which the glasses will be attached. The distance between the rows of holders, as well as between the outer holders and the side walls should be 3 cm. To measure the distance between the holders, add 0.5 cm to the diameter of the bottoms of the glasses.

8. Place the holders strictly along the marked lines and stick with tape. Holding the holders with your hand, insert the awl into the drilled holes and pierce the holes in the wall of the cabinet.

9. Wrap the screws with a screwdriver and peel off the tape.
