Another possible reason may be a burner zoom, as evidenced by the yellow color of the flame. Call the gas driver, a specialist will solve this problem for an hour.

When the column is turned on, the smell of gas

This is serious and threatens the saddest consequences. Immediately turn off the column, turn off the gas supply faucet, provide permanent ventilation in the room, call emergency service (104) and wait for the brigade.
