Professional assembly and installation of stoves, fireplaces, chimneys

The installation of a fireplace stove and chimney is a very important and at the same time an individual matter. For an accurate assessment of the labor intensity and cost of work, as well as the necessary for the installation of chimney elements and thermal insulation materials, a foreman must visit the site directly. The installer of fireplace stoves will be able to see with his own eyes what he has to do, and the client can discuss all the nuances of the installation.

Why the first step is to call the measurer to the object?

Solid fuel combined boilers Cooper from the Novosibirsk company Teplodar literally "blew up" the heating equipment market a few years ago. All this is understandable. Before the appearance of these universal Kupper boilers, buyers were offered either expensive imported options or unsightly domestic counterparts with a "soviet" design.

Quite a wide range of models, price, good looks and good build quality did their job. A lot of information about them has already appeared on the Internet, and it is the Cooper universal boilers that have only positive reviews from the owners, including from the specialists themselves.

Let us and we analyze these water heating devices, consider the model range, technical characteristics, device, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of Kupper solid fuel combined boilers.

The lineup

Cooper boilers are available in six main modifications:

1. Cooper OVK-10
2. Cooper OK-15
3. Cooper OVK-18
4. Cooper OK-20
5. Cooper OK-30
6. Cooper OK-42

What do all these letters and numbers in the marking mean?
The letters OK are a heating boiler, OVK is a heating boiler with a hob (stove) for cooking. The numbers indicate the heat output of this particular model. Fuel can be loaded into OVK-10 boilers directly from above, after removing the hob from it.

Models OVK-10, OK-15, OVK-18, OK-20, OK-30

Cooper boilers are available in different capacities from 10 to 42 kW. The smallest boiler OVK-10 can heat a house up to 100 square meters, the most powerful OK-42 up to 400 meters.

In addition to the main modifications, the Teplodar company produces a series of boilers Cooper 22 Pro, Cooper Pro 28, Cooper Pro 36 and Cooper 42 Pro. These are universal, they differ in a large volume of the loading chamber, which increases the operating time from one bookmark of firewood to another up to eight hours. These models have an additional chamber for the afterburning of gases generated by wood when it smolders.

The device of universal boilers Cooper

Device and connection diagram of the Cooper boiler

The boilers of this series consist of:

- steel body 3 mm thick;
- tubular multi-row heat exchanger;
- chambers for loading solid fuel;
- ignition chamber;
- a layer over the entire volume of the boiler for better thermal insulation;
- box for collecting ash;
- thermometer;
- an internal fitting for the installation of a heating element block.

Boiler working principle

Solid fuel is loaded through the loading door: firewood, coal or peat in briquettes. In the lower chamber, do the kindling. When the fuel burns, heat is released, which heats the water in the heat exchanger (water jacket).

The heated coolant moves through the heating system either naturally or with the help of a circulation pump installed on the return pipe of the system. Exhaust flue gases are discharged through the boiler nozzle into the chimney. The diameter of the flue pipe of these boilers is 150 mm, while for the OVK-10 model it is 120 mm.

The efficiency of heating the coolant in this wood-fired boiler was made possible by a multi-row heat exchanger with staggered pipes. Water flows inside the boiler through the pipes of the heat exchanger without stagnating in it. On top of that, excellent thermal insulation with basalt significantly increases the efficiency of a solid fuel boiler.

Operation of a boiler with a thermostat in a long burning mode

In order for the device to work in economy mode, it is necessary to purchase a special thermostat for the boiler. For it, a side threaded union is provided in the boiler body, where it is installed.

The thermostat comes with a chain, which must be connected at one end to the flap of the boiler ignition door, and at the other end directly to the thermostat.

The thermostat has a special temperature scale, setting the desired temperature, through the chain and the door flap, it regulates the air supply to the boiler furnace. Thus, the set temperature is maintained and our fuel is saved.

Judging by the reviews on Kupper boilers, when using this thermostat, the boiler can operate on one tab of firewood for up to 7-8 hours.

Boiler operation on electricity, gas and pellets

All models of Kupper boilers are equipped with 6 kW heating elements. Models with rated power from 30 kW - heating elements of 9 kW each. This makes it possible to use the boiler not only on solid fuels, but also on electricity.

Of course, with the help of heating elements with a total power of 6 kW, it will be difficult to heat a house with an area of more than 100 m2, but to maintain a certain temperature of the coolant, it is quite enough.

For convenient control of a group of heating elements of the boiler, it is possible to purchase a special control panel (PU) with temperature sensors for water and air. With its help it is very convenient to switch heating elements. You can, for example, switch on only 1 to 2 kW or 2 to 2 kW. The delivery set, however, does not include a control panel, but you can buy it separately.

In addition, Cooper boilers can operate on gas or pellets. To do this, it is possible to purchase a special automatic gas burner device (gas burner) AGG-13, -26, -40K with a capacity of 13, 26 or 40 kW, respectively, or APG-25 (-42).

Gas and pellet burners are installed in place of the boiler fire door. The door is removed and the necessary additional equipment is cut in instead.

Cooper boiler with gas burner

It should be noted that the gas consumption when using such a burner will be higher than that of a typical floor-standing burner.

Thus, by purchasing a Cooper wood-burning boiler, you get a universal, combined boiler of the "wood-electricity" or "gas-electricity" type.

How to choose the right boiler of the Cooper OK series: technical characteristics

If you need to heat a room with an area of 100-120 sq. meters, it is better to buy a Kupper OK-15 boiler with a capacity of 15 kW. If cooking on a boiler is also planned, then you can choose the OVK-18 model with a capacity of 18 kW. And, for example, for a house 200-250, we would recommend purchasing a boiler of the OK-36 model.

Remember the basic rule for the selection of heating equipment: 1 kW per 10 m2, and a small margin so as not to operate the boiler at the limit of its capabilities.

Technical characteristics of Kupper boilers

Advantages of Cooper solid fuel boilers

- versatility, the ability to use as fuel not only wood, coal, but also electricity, gas, pellets;
- good value for money (from 20,000 rubles);
- the ability to cook food on certain models;
- original design and color of paintwork;

Disadvantages of Cooper boilers

- novelty;
- the steel heat exchanger is less durable than;
- the absence of a thermostat for the boiler and a control panel for the heating element block in the complete set;
- there are no double-circuit models, all boilers are only single-circuit.

And finally, I recommend watching this video:

In this article, we have disassembled solid fuel combined boilers Cooper from the domestic company Teplodar. We considered the lineup, internal and external device, as well as advantages and some disadvantages. As you can see, our worthy competitor to imported heating equipment has appeared on the market. Let's hope that these boilers meet expectations and take their rightful place.
