Make a gas stove. Recommendations for converting existing heating furnaces to gas. Water heating methods

Gas stoves for a bath are chosen depending on the performance and volume of the steam room.

When the question arises which stove to use in the bath, they are repelled by the communications that are connected to the site. Gas availability will solve many problems, including installing a gas oven. Gas ovens are smaller, and their efficiency is higher than that of analogues using hard and liquid fuels. How to make a gas burner for a bath with your own hands, without mistakes that can be life-threatening, not everyone knows. Consider some of the design features of gas furnaces, we will tell you how to make gas in the bath correctly.

Craftsmen came up with homemade designs of gas stoves for a bath, but without experience, it is difficult to make a gas burner with your own hands. Models from well-known manufacturers meet all fire safety requirements, and you can install them correctly with your own hands. The main thing is to coordinate the project with the gas and fire departments of the city.

Types of gas generators

Gas heat generators, according to their purpose, are divided into types:

  1. Heating.

    Heating.

Heating generators are used in bath constructions. In rare cases, they additionally use heating ones, for example, a gas boiler, when it is necessary to carry out heating and hot water supply in the bath. It is impossible to heat a bath with their help.

Household appliances include appliances such as cooking. They are simple in their service, so you can often find in the country, for example, a gas stove. But it is possible to maintain a high temperature in a room with a humidity above normal only with heating.

By design features, gas ovens are subdivided according to the following features:

    Burner design.

    Water heating methods.

    What material was used for the manufacture.

    Type of fuel.

Consider some of them in more detail.

The material from which the oven is made

The brick-built gas stove for the bath does not disturb the interior of the Russian bath.

The gas generator can be made of metal or stacked with bricks. Each material has its own characteristics.

Brick gas ovens can only be folded by a specialist. Moreover, metal elements are still used inside the structure. It is more difficult to heat a brick stove, since it heats up for a long time, but it keeps heat up to 48 hours. The design looks little distinguishable from a wood-burning one, but a gas burner is located instead of firewood. And they fit into a special sealed container that will not allow moisture to pass to the fire. To do this, the pallet must have sides and a solid bottom.

The pluses include:

    The heater can be selected with a large volume.

    You can use hot water after heating for another 1–2 days.

    The heat from the brick structure is more even.

    It is necessary to start heating the stove 4–6 hours before the implementation of the bath procedures.

    Installation of a brick oven is expensive.

    A massive foundation must be made under the stove, since the structure is heavy.

Metal gas ovens are light and small. Their walls are made of metal with a thickness of 5 mm. The heater is small and you can warm up the bath in 2–3 hours. The compactness allows the generator to be used in a bath of any size, starting from 2x2 m.

You can assemble a metal gas stove with your own hands, it is enough to have the necessary drawings and some tools and materials:

    Gas cylinder. You can buy a new one, but it's cheaper to use a used one. This is easy to get at scrap metal collection points.

    Wheels from a KAMAZ or a used car. The size depends on what power the stove will be.

    Metal pipes: diameter 2 and 4 cm. Smaller for gas and air supply, large for chimney.

    Gas burner (atmospheric).

    Bulgarian.

    Welding machine.

Diagram-drawing of a gas oven for a bath with your own hands.

Do-it-yourself gas oven assembly is carried out in the following steps:

The grinder cuts the top of the cylinder so that the hole is inserted into the wheel rim. The seam is welded with a welding machine. If there is no welding, then bolts can be used.

The next step is to prepare a pipe for supplying air. To do this, take a diameter of 2 cm and drill 9-11 holes with a diameter of 5 mm in it. A hole with a diameter of 50 mm is also drilled in the lower part of the cylinder. The pipe is inserted into the cylinder so that one side it stuck out 15–20 cm. The seam is welded.

The gas pipe is welded in the same way, you can see in detail in the figure. An adapter is mounted at the free end for attachment to a gas generator (cylinder, pipe).

A chimney is mounted on top of the cylinder by welding. On the side, as shown in the figure, a hole is cut for the bottom. It is cut from a piece of steel and welded onto the hinges.

A similar design can be seen in the video:

Type of fuel

An iron gas stove for a bath heats up and cools down quickly.

By type of fuel, generators for a bath are divided into combined and only gas. The first option is more expensive, but more convenient. You can heat the bath with both gas and wood. This method is convenient because if the gas runs out unexpectedly, it is not necessary to stop the procedure, but to continue heating on hard fuel.

Gas ovens are cheaper, but you need to take care of, for example, an additional gas cylinder. The use of propane and butane will be more economical if you replace the injector with another with smaller holes.

Whichever gas stove you choose, you must correctly supply gas to it.

Methods for wiring gas to the stove

The bath can be gasified in two ways:

    From the city-wide system.

    Individually using a balloon.

Gasification from the city system

gas can be supplied to the bath from the city pipe.

If a gas pipe passes through the site, then it is more profitable to power the bath from it. Let's make a reservation right away, this is a laborious business and requires knowledge and permissions. The price for the services of specialized companies is high, but once you supply the gas to the bath, you do not have to worry for many years. Paying gas bills will be less expensive than buying fuel in cylinders every time.

For urban gasification, a number of measures must be taken:

    Receive and approve a number of documents: gas supply project, agree on technical conditions and make an estimate.

    Purchase equipment and pipes and install them.

    Prepare test and technical documentation, hand over the work to the local gas service.

    Crash into the system, install and register the meter, start and receive documents for service and fuel supply.

It is difficult to do all of the above items on your own, it is easier to call a specialist. Moreover, the city gas company itself will provide and conduct T tons of rubles to the heating device.

Individual gasification

You can power the stove from a gas cylinder, which can be of various sizes.

Individual gasification is suitable for areas where there is no city line. A gas cylinder can be purchased at any specialty store. But such a gas supply is rather unsafe.

Safety first of all, the cylinder should not be installed in the bath, its place is on the street. The place is chosen easily accessible and ventilated, that is, the balloon cannot be forced with various objects and hung with things. A fire extinguisher is hung nearby or a small box of sand is installed.

What are the features of installing gas equipment in a bath

When supplying gas to the bath, it is necessary not to forget about possible leaks. Therefore, there are special requirements for bath equipment:

    A special sensor must be installed in the furnace, which will prevent the flow of gas if the burner goes out.

    Natural gas is supplied through the city main pipe, cylinders are filled with propane and bud at simple gas stations.

    When installing gas stoves, all fire safety rules must be observed, as when heating with wood or liquid fuel.

    In the bath, it is necessary to correctly perform the exhaust system and the chimney.

How to properly perform a chimney with a gas generator

The easiest option is to install a sandwich pipe in the bath.

For a gas stove and a boiler, a chimney is needed in the same way as when burning with wood. Carbon monoxide will be generated in the stove and, in the absence of a chimney and good ventilation, will accumulate in the steam room. The main danger is that he does not have no color, no smell and it is very easy for them to poison themselves.

Modern gas ovens are equipped with special sensors that, in case of poor exhaust, work and cut off the gas supply. But in order to save money for a summer residence or a garden plot, they purchase the cheapest generators.

A properly organized chimney should have the following components:

    Through-hole in the ceiling.

    Umbrella, which prevents sparks from entering the roof of the bath.

A gas pipe can be assembled for a brick oven. But it will be more difficult to look after her, and installation work will not cost cheap. Easier to mount a sandwich pipe.

It is easy to mount the structure, even a beginner who does not have preliminary training can handle it. The joints will be located at the exit from the furnace, butts between the ceiling and the roof.

The construction of a sandwich pipe has a heat-insulating gasket, but since the temperature in the bath is high all the time, the roof and ceiling can still burn out. To avoid this, it is necessary to carry out insulation along the confines and roofs of asbestos fiber or sheet metal.

An umbrella is mounted on top of the pipe. You can do it yourself from an old tin can: the bottom and the lid are cut out, the walls are cut in one place so that a rectangle is formed, a cone is rolled out of it. It will prevent precipitation from entering.

With proper installation of the chimney and equipment, gas in the bath will become a convenient and safe fuel. And an iron stove can be made with your own hands. But you need to understand that any little thing can lead to dire consequences. If you are not sure of your knowledge, then it is better to seek the help of specialists.

Building a stove with your own hands means helping your home to warm up faster in cold weather. Plus, this is another self-esteem boost. Folded the stove - increased the level of skill. On closer inspection, there is nothing difficult in learning how to lay the stove with your own hands. You can study all the necessary literature and practice as an assistant to one of your friends in the oven. Or maybe even take lessons from the master of the stove.

Gas heating ovens

When building a stove, a real zealous owner of the house wants to save money and at the same time build a high-quality stove with maximum efficiency. This opportunity is provided thanks to the gas oven, which significantly saves on fuel and at the same time has a simple masonry. This type of stove is divided by the type of material used into two categories: steel and brick (or stone).

A stone gas stove looks almost identical to a real Russian stove.... The only difference is the location of the stove in its design - it is located directly above the burner and is placed in a metal container during construction, and not on concrete or steel sheet. A novice stove-maker may not be able to cope with this difficulty. Outwardly, it looks like a trough with sides that protect it from water. But such a stove can fit into almost any corner of the design.

The simpler ones are gas metal ovens, which are easy to lift and do not require as many bricks or stones.

True, preference in our country is still given to the traditional Russian stove, especially if it needs to be built in a bathhouse.

What do we have at hand

The main charm of building a stove with your own hands is the ability to use those materials that are at hand.

So, what do we need to create at least the simplest gas oven with our own hands?

First of all, this is a high strength gas cylinder, but not too large.

A brake disc will be installed in the base of the furnace, which should not have any flaws.

Three pipes will be required, one of which will serve as a chimney (diameter 100mm), the second will supply gas, and the third will become an air duct (these two pipes are 50mm each).

Gas burner: atmospheric type.

Connecting structures with various fittings and other details.

The gas cylinder is cut off from above, thus turning into the main part of the "body" of the future furnace. Moreover, the hole must coincide in diameter with the brake disc. It is advisable to weld the brake disc itself. It is also possible to fasten it with bolts, but this type of connection will not guarantee that any foreign object, dust or dirt will not get into the space between the bottom and the disc.

In the gas pipe and air duct, you need to drill a dozen holes of 5 mm each. At the bottom of the cylinder, you need to drill a hole that will be two millimeters larger than the diameter of the pipe. This will include pipes, and the outer part will be equal in length to 20cm. All seams must be hot-welded, after which the oven can be painted.

DIY heating cooking stove (video)

Of course, during the construction of a stove, there is a desire to expand its functions from heating to heating and cooking. Such a stove will require simple care, and there will be many times more benefits from it. This type of stove has several varieties. In particular, a stove designed by Korobanov and Samarin, an ordinary potbelly stove and a simple Russian stove. The masonry of each of these types of stoves has its own requirements. This is a fairly voluminous topic of conversation, therefore, we will touch on only some of the important properties of this type of furnace and the advantages that it gives.

A stove firebox is essentially a cooking stove, which saves time and fuel.

The heat generated by the combustion of gases is used to heat food.

While preparing food, you simultaneously warm up the room, which is very convenient in cold weather, when additional heat will not interfere.

There are some design features to consider as well.

The volume of the firebox is much smaller than that of other types of stoves.

The combustion temperature of the fuel is too low due to the fact that the firebox is located under the metal deck.

During operation, a large set of accessories is used, starting with a damper and a damper and continuing this series with other things.

As practice shows, it is these ovens that are most common in our country, since they are enough - they allow you to heat the room with high quality, and at the same time you can cook food on them. And the design of the Russian stove also allows you to equip a stove bench, which can be used not only as a sleeping place with heating, but also as a place for drying mushrooms, herbs and things. It is especially pleasant for the heart to look at the Russian stove, which is a symbol of Russian history and everyday life.

Heating a private building is one of the main tasks that appears in front of people who want to live in a warm and comfortable room.

Until now, a very popular way is to use a stove, a variety of which depends on the size of the building, the preferences of the owners and other factors.

Heating in a private house

You can heat your home with:

  • Woody stoves - peat, coal, firewood are used for heating;
  • Gas- works on liquefied gas;
  • Cast iron structures - the fuel is peat, firewood, coal, diesel fuel;
  • Finnish- only firewood is used;
  • Electric.

Gas oven advantages

The gas stove has recently become very popular heating the house, since it can also be connected to backbone, and to conventional cylinder with gas. Design the most economical among all varieties of ovens.

The unit differs in such positive properties:

  • not dangerous for people's lives;
  • can be accommodated in houses made from any building materials;
  • for work uses natural liquefied gas;
  • It has small size;
  • does not burn in room oxygen;
  • is distinguished by a large cost-effectiveness;
  • simple in operation;
  • durability and the ability to work without interruptions.

Elements of the device. Burner types

The considered equipment necessarily includes such components:

  • brick or metal case;
  • chimney;
  • foundation.

The building contains three elements:

  1. Heating plate.
  2. The firebox.
  3. Gas burner, which is a replaceable element. She happens one-, two-stage and may have floating adjustment... If necessary, the burner can be replaced with a more or less powerful one.

Such ovens work in permanent or temporary mode, which is achieved due to the presence of automation. The principle of operation of the units is quite simple: a burner is placed in the firebox, in which the gas is burned, the latter is discharged through the chimney.

Photo 1. Diagram of the internal structure of a gas oven. All the main parts of the structure are signed.

In the event that it is planned to build a furnace on one's own, inside she is laid out red brick... If the use of additional fuels in the appliance is allowed, the brick must be fireproof.

Above the firebox there is chimney, and below - blew through which air enters the oven. It is without this part of the entire structure that the fuel will not burn.

The device of gas ovens is invented in such a way that gases flowed through certain channels having maximum five chimneys.

Attention! All channels must be located strictly upright, otherwise the device in question in the house will not be installed.

Deciding to install a gas oven in your home, it is necessary to consider the following features:

  • When choosing a device, first of all, pay attention to its power, because the temperature indicator in your home depends only on this. What power the burner will have will be affected by the future heated area, the number of windows and doors in the house, as well as their condition, wall thickness and more.
  • When purchasing a gas structure, you should first take care of enough good ventilation in the House. If there is none and it cannot be improved, then the installation of such a furnace is strictly prohibited.

  • Consider complete set the system you like. In some cases, it is equipped with adapters, which allows it to be connected to multiple fuel sources.
  • The construction in question is suitable only if the house has no more than two floors otherwise the entire heating system will be ineffective.
  • For ease of use and additional control of the device, it is mounted special sensor that detects the level of carbon dioxide... If there is any change in the air, the oven will shut off automatically.
  • If you buy finished metal oven, you need to inquire about the documents for the device, which indicate whether it is really safe for use in a residential area.
  • Categorically forbidden install this kind of stove in wooden houses, channels in which are located horizontally.

When purchasing a gas stove, you need to consider what will be square heated room. It is not difficult to calculate it. 10 square meters living space should have 1 kW of power burners (for stock it is better to add 15-20%). Thus, in a house, the value of which will be 100 square meters, you need to install a stove, with a capacity of 12 kW.

Types of stoves

If speak about heat capacity, then in this case the furnaces are divided into two categories:

  1. Heat-consuming ones have brick building, which accumulates heat in itself, and then gradually releases it into the environment. Already switched off, the oven, depending on its size, can still continue heat the room for 4-12 hours.
  2. Not heat-consuming design is done made of metal... She generates heat only when there is a gas combustion process... After stopping the fuel supply, the device cools down very quickly. The advantages of this design are that it has small size and weight and can be installed even in small spaces.

Stoves in your own way appearance there are:

  1. round;
  2. oval;
  3. rectangular.

The appearance of the device affects only its combination with a certain interior.

Reference. Internal furnace design in any way not related to her external view.

Placing a gas heating device

The gas oven can only be installed in houses in which duct ducts are pre-installed correctly... They must be strictly vertical.

Attention! Never install a structure close to the wall... The permissible indicator is at least 50 centimeters.

As foundations it is forbidden to use wood or linoleum. It should be smooth, solid and non-flammable... In addition, depending on the size of the furnace, the base must exceed it at least 10-15 cm on each side.

The placement of the device in the house is affected by its power:

  • Installation is in progress on the kitchen if this indicator no more than 60 kW.
  • In case of exceeding the power ( more than 60 kW) installation is admissible in a separate room or annex.

Not allowed placement of such stoves in houses, the height of the walls of which does not reach two meters.

Connection rules

Connect the structures in question only specialists can, because they will do everything quickly and reliably. If you decide to carry out the installation yourself, you should adhere to certain tips and tricks.

  1. Please select well accessible and ventilated place in the house, given the location of the chimney.
  2. Measure not less than 50 cm from the walls and make durable, non-flammable base that will be on each side more bottom area ovens about 10-15 cm.
  3. If you plan to build a brick building, you need protect the walls with heat-resistant material.
  4. Using stainless steel pipes, connect the chimney with a stove.

Reference! Pipes must be pushed into one another at least 5 cm.

  1. Connect the installed structure to the gas pipe special hose tightening the joints tightly.
  2. Before connecting to the chimney, install inside it is a stainless pipe.
  3. Chimney placed strictly vertically.

Important! Permissible tilt angle chimney is 30 degrees.

  1. If the outer part of the chimney is not inside the brick well, then it is needed wrap with insulation, and from above close with a sheet of stainless steel.
  2. Number of turns chimney must be within 3.
  3. Using brackets, attach the pipe to the wall without sagging.
  4. Use a tee to connect a pipe with a stove.

What distinguishes a Russian bath from a Turkish hamam or a Finnish sauna? A stove that is not just a heating device, but its real heart. There is an opinion that it must necessarily be a heater, but if there is a connection to gas (mains or cylinder), then a gas stove will perfectly cope with heating a bath and quickly heating a large volume of water. Such a unit is light in weight, easy to operate, does not require regular cleaning of the gas pipeline, words, a real find for lovers of bath procedures.

Among the additional advantages of the equipment are fast warming up of the premises, efficiency, which is especially important in the winter season, and the relative ease of manufacture. Currently, the store range of heating equipment is quite wide, as well as the pricing policy, but if there is a need, we will tell you how to make a gas bath stove with your own hands.

The total cost of such a gas oven directly depends on what material it is built from. The best quality and most effective is a brick oven with a built-in inflatable burner, a metal one is an economical option, which is also advisable to be faced with a brick.

Design features

A gas stove is structurally identical in many respects to a conventional boiler, but differs in quality characteristics associated with the characteristics of the gas. So, a fuse is necessarily provided in the housing, which stops the fuel supply at the moment the burner goes out, an absolutely sealed gas chamber. But the fundamental difference is still in the supply of fuel - if the fuel is loaded into the chamber into the solid fuel furnace, then in the gas one - it comes directly from the gas pipeline.

For the safest operation, gas cylinders are always placed outside the building in a special container or bunker placed underground.

How to calculate the consumption of natural and liquefied gas

The main indicator on which the calculation depends is the area of the room and the power consumption of the equipment. Also taken into account are outdoor temperature readings taken during the coldest time.

The calculated indicator, ideally, is always 35-50% higher than the actually consumed, since the air temperature always changes up or down. When choosing ready-made equipment, this fact should be taken into account and instead of, for example, 100 W of energy, you can take 50.

The calculation of the amount of natural gas is made according to the formula:

L = Q / (qH x 0.92),

  • L is the calculated volume of fuel (1 cubic meter per hour);
  • Q - heating power, kW;
  • qН - limiting power of fuel combustion, for natural gas 10.175 kW / m 3;
  • 0.92 - Efficiency of a gas boiler / furnace.

On average, for heating a room with an area of 100 sq.m. the calculation will look like this:

5 / (10.175 x 0.92) = 0.53 m 3 / h,

which corresponds to the consumption of natural gas per unit of time (hour).

Based on such indicators, it is possible to determine the nominal gas consumption in any room for a certain period of time. Since the bath is not operated every day and not round the clock, this consumption will be less.

Balloon (liquefied) gas is more expensive and its consumption will have to be calculated not by liters, as natural, but by kilograms. The heat of combustion of gas remains the same - 10.175 kW / m 3 = 12.8 kW / kg, heating power - 5. We get:

5 / (12.8 x 0.92) = 0.42 kg / h,

which corresponds to 0.78 liters per hour. Considering that 1 liter of bottled gas weighs 540 mg. Based on the approximate number of days and hours of use of the bath, you can calculate the required volume.

In order to make a do-it-yourself gas bath stove, you should decide on three main parameters:

  • Material;
  • What will be the gas burner;
  • Placement of the tank - built-in or remote tank.

Now about each of them in more detail.

What materials are used

As mentioned earlier, it is recommended to use fireclay (refractory) brick, metal or stone to make a gas bath stove with your own hands. Stone furnaces take much longer to melt (4-5 hours), but they also keep the temperature 3-4 hours longer than metal ones. Brick ones are characterized by similar indicators. In turn, metal units heat up faster (in a room up to 50 sq.m. it completely warms up in 2.5-3 hours /), but they also cool down faster.

At the same time, metal furnaces are lighter than brick counterparts and are easier to manufacture, and if it is lined with fireclay bricks from the outside, then there will be no fundamental difference between the 2 units.

Gas-burners

In total, there are 2 main types of burners - atmospheric and blown.

The first option is the simplest one, for its operation you do not need automatic control and the corresponding equipment. With such an atmospheric intensity of the fire, the air entering through the doors into the chamber is supported, respectively, the heating efficiency directly depends on the amount of incoming air.

The operation of the inflatable burner is ensured by the blowing fan, which forcibly draws air into the chamber and also maintains the operation of the burner. Considering that the fan is powered by the mains, the heating unit is volatile, which means it is more expensive.

A similar fan is installed in solid fuel, combined and pyrolysis boilers. You will learn about that in the corresponding article.

Location of the water tank

By analogy with traditional stoves for a bath on gas equipment, a water tank can be built-in, removable or portable, that is, located in another room. In the built-in heater, the water heats up much faster, which is facilitated by the combustion products in the stove.

To heat water in a remote tank, which can be mounted in the same room or directly in the steam room, a pipe system is used.

How to make a gas stove for a bath with your own hands

A permit is required to install and connect a gas oven. The technical conditions and the connection procedure in each region must be coordinated with the services of the gas department.

This article will focus on the manufacture of a brick gas oven with a burner. Despite the apparent complexity, it is possible to manufacture such equipment, while it is necessary to observe construction technologies and production procedures.

Preparatory process

The main design issue is the location of the future furnace. The optimal place would be installation for 2 rooms so as to heat all rooms, including the one where people rest. The capacity of the manufactured stove will be enough to heat 3 main ones - a steam room, a washing room and a dressing room.

Necessary materials:

  • fireclay brick;
  • galvanized steel sheet;
  • fittings;
  • pipe, grate;
  • clay and sand;
  • 2 blower and firebox doors;
  • base,
  • chimney;
  • mineral wool for insulation,
  • heater,
  • burner (atmospheric or blown),
  • heat-resistant steel sheet,
  • decorative overlays,
  • automatic control unit for blower burners.

Foundation

Before erecting the furnace itself, a proper foundation should be made:

  1. Tear out the foundation half a meter below the freezing level.
  2. You fill up the sand with a thickness of 20 cm at the bottom - this is an air cushion, which reduces the risk of soil movement. Pour the sand abundantly with water, on top of a layer of broken brick or construction debris by 20-25 cm.
  3. Fall asleep 10-15 cm with crushed stone and proceed to the formwork. Be sure to make a reinforced frame! Pour with concrete from cement, crushed stone, sand (in equal parts) and water (1/2 volume).
  4. Ambassadors of drying the formwork, remove the wooden frame (as an option - the formwork can be non-removable) and cover the entire surface with 2-3 layers of tar (roofing material can be used).

Furnace walls

Be sure to expose a protective wall, which will exclude the risk of fire in the bath. For its manufacture, it is fashionable to use cut brick (half) laid on a sand-clay mortar.

The solution is prepared at the rate of 1 part of clay and 1 part of river sand.

For laying the base of the furnace, the bricks are completely immersed in cold water for several minutes, after which they are still wet, placed on the mortar on a bituminous base (waterproofing). The distance between the bricks should vary between 3-5 mm. All subsequent rows are laid out in a checkerboard pattern.

In the 3rd row, build in the blower door. It is better to fasten it to the base with steel strips.

In the 4th row, make a well for the grate. Cut small holes in the bricks (0.5 cm on each side) so that there is room for the thermal expansion of the metal.

Installation of fittings

  • In the 6th row, also fix the blower door to the steel strips.
  • In the 7th there is a grate.
  • 8th - installation of a partition for the construction of a chimney.
  • 14 - tie-in of channels for the tank. To do this, it is necessary to make a recess, where the tank will subsequently "enter".
  • From the 15th row, the bricks are applied in half to make the distribution wall. From 15 to 18 rows, the layout is reduced.
  • In the 19th row, a door is installed to release excess vapors.
  • In the 20-21st there are strips for the built-in container, which must also be laid out with bricks.
  • From the 23rd row, you begin to lay the chimney, the size of which is selected from the size of the bath room. From the street side, the pipe must be insulated with mineral wool and its height is 1 meter above the roof ridge.

The minimum chimney thickness must be at least ½ the brick thickness.

For outdoor laying of the base under the chimney, it is recommended to use concrete mortar to prevent it from being washed out by precipitation.

The final stage

After the laying of the stove is completed, it must be plastered. This is done not only for decorative reasons, but also to improve the thermal insulation properties. For plastering, you can use any available solution, to which add at least a quarter of the alabaster volume. This will qualitatively improve the finish and allow the materials to "breathe".

In the absence of alabaster, gypsum can be used, but at the same time prepare the solution in small portions. Compared to alabaster, gypsum sets 2 times faster.

  • When choosing between a main gas pipeline and a bottled gas, keep in mind that the latter has a higher thermal power factor. Let us remind once again that the gas cylinder must be kept outside the premises, preferably buried in a box under the ground.
  • Be sure to use an automatic block for a gas boiler. This is necessary to stop the fuel supply in the event of any emergency.
  • The homemade gas bath stove, which was discussed in the article, can be started after 14-20 days, depending on the ambient temperature. It is not recommended to bring it to full warming up when starting up.
  • Be sure to use iron barriers between the wall and the heating unit and in front of it to eliminate the risk of spontaneous combustion.
  • The chimney labor is always made of stainless steel.
  • The maximum distance from the gas burner to the end of the chimney is within 5 meters.
  • In the room where the gas stove for the bath is installed, with your own hands or with the help of specialists, it is necessary to provide high-quality ventilation.

And here you will find out how the ovens differ from each other, and which one is better to choose in a ready-made version.

Video 3 How does one sauna stove differ from another

In general, we note that a gas stove for a bath is the best option. Heats up the room quickly, keeps the temperature for a long time, economical in operation, there is no need for frequent cleaning of the chimney. But only this type of heating equipment, provided that it is connected to the main line, requires a number of coordinated actions for subsequent operation.

Many owners of summer cottages and country houses often face problems in the heating system of their seasonal homes. For such buildings, it is recommended to use brick ovens. But such a heating structure has a number of serious drawbacks. It is not an easy task to quickly heat a residential building in which they do not live permanently. Gas stoves are an alternative option for heating a country house and summer cottage.

Design features

Such devices in their design practically do not differ from boilers operating on gas.

The main feature is the method of operation. The gas oven is not connected to pipelines. This is a convenient heating system for a house or summer cottage, which allows you to quickly warm up the premises. The liquid coolant cannot freeze in it.

The devices operate on main or cylinder gas. The design of the stove has a body, a firebox, a burner, a heating shield, an automatic system (a system for cutting off the fuel supply).

The appliance, designed for operation with liquefied gas, can be used to heat a small house (one- or two-story). Gas ovens are not suitable for heating large areas (over 60 m2).

Such heating structures can operate in a continuous or temporary mode.

This device is one of the most important elements of such a heating system. Burners used in gas ovens have different fuel consumption. To heat a small house or summer cottage, you can use an apparatus that consumes no more than 4 m3 / h.

The burner is a replaceable element. It can be purchased and installed separately. A part of the required power is selected and installed in the existing furnace. In this case, it is necessary to pay attention to the same dimensions of the threaded connection of the burner and the fuel supply source to the heater. The dimensions of the mounting window for this element are 40-55 cm.

All gas ovens for heating homes must have certificates confirming their compliance with the state safety and quality standard. If there is no such documentation, then it is better not to purchase such a product.

The walls of the fuel cell are heated by the combustion of the fuel. Air, to maintain the combustion process, is supplied through the blower.

A chimney is located at the top of the heater (combustion products come out through it), it joins the firebox.

Advantages

A gas stove used to heat a country house or summer cottage is an effective heating system. Due to the peculiarities of the used fuel material and the nuances of functioning, they have gained wide popularity. Their undoubted advantages include the following:

  • durability, reliability (in fact, there is nothing to break in such a heating device, the warranty period for their operation is 12 years, but in fact the gas stove will last much longer);
  • environmental safety (devices that use gas for heating will not harm humans and the environment, unlike boilers operating on solid fuels, they do not emit toxins during operation, they can be used at any time of the day or year);
  • Efficiency at a high level;
  • ergonomics (gas consumption is 133 g / h, in areas with piped gas this value is even lower);
  • saving space (unlike firewood, gas does not need a separate storage room, it does not need to be delivered, you can fill a cylinder at any gas station);
  • ease of operation (furnaces are connected to a main pipeline or to a regular gas cylinder and provide comfortable living conditions).

disadvantages

Gas ovens are not without their drawbacks. The equipment itself and its installation are not cheap at all. Natural gas is the most inexpensive fuel, but its cost in our country is systematically increasing.

Gas ovens are difficult to install and connect. In the event of even the smallest error, you can face huge problems in the use of such devices (they either will not do what they are intended for, or they will begin to pose a danger to the life and health of residents).

The nuances of installation and use

When installing gas equipment at home or in the country, it is necessary to take into account a number of requirements for it.

Often, not one, but two devices are connected to the chimney to heat private housing. If two gas units are connected, then they are located at different levels in relation to each other. The distance between them should be at least 0.5 m. It is necessary to make a cut in the chimney if it is decided to mount the heating devices at the same level.

This design can be in the form of a cylinder, an oval, in some cases even a square. But in the latter version, you can face the problem of poor-quality traction.

The gas oven branch pipe must be of the same or smaller section as the chimney duct. If several heating devices are connected, then the cross section is determined using special calculations. In this case, it is taken into account that the units can work simultaneously.

The flue pipe must be protected against excess condensation. To do this, a stainless steel structure is mounted inside it. The chimney must be installed strictly vertically. In this case, there should be no ledges.

Installation

It is required to maintain a certain distance between the wall and the oven: it must be at least 5 m.

The heater must be placed on a non-combustible solid base, the dimensions of which must exceed the parameters of the stove by 10 cm on each side.

Absolutely forbidden

It is impossible to create a chimney from materials with a porous structure. It is also prohibited to run the pipe through rooms with poor-quality ventilation.

Criterias of choice

When buying a gas oven for heating a country house, summer cottage, bathhouse, garage, you need to pay attention to the following:

  • the size of the unit, its compliance with the parameters of the structure, which it will have to heat;
  • the presence of an automatic system for cutting off the fuel supply, a thermostat and a gas fuse (the latter two will require a small overpayment, but during the operation of a gas furnace they will save money);
  • the ability to operate a gas burner on main and liquefied gas;
  • equipment certification.

Manufacturers

Russian-made gas ovens (Teplodar, Rus, Troika, Termofor) have good reviews. They are of high quality and are presented on the domestic market in a wide range. They have a nice design, steel firebox, door made of metal or heat-resistant glass. Such units are distinguished by high performance, simplicity and unpretentiousness in use. Some models are equipped with special valves to regulate the temperature.

A gas stove for heating a summer house, a private house is a profitable and practical option. If desired, you can assemble it with your own hands, but in case of an oversight, such a device can lead to a leak of fuel material and an explosion. Therefore, it is very important to observe safety precautions.
