Garage drawings. Homemade workbenches and racks - we make fixtures for the garage. Manufacturing technology of a workbench from a metal frame

The press for the garage is assembled from improvised materials. No complicated details are needed, they are made practically from the remnants of scrap metal. We will need:

  • Two sections of channel 80 cm long each, with shelves 50x30 cm.
  • A piece of a profile pipe with a diameter of 40 or 60 mm, 2.5 meters long.
  • Iron plate 8 mm thick, dimensions 250x250 cm.
  • Two corners, one of which is 300 mm long, with a section of 50x50 mm, the second is 250 mm long, with a section of 25x25 mm.
  • The hydraulic jack is the main mechanism of the press.
  • Two springs and bolts of different diameters for fastening. They pick up the place.

The basis on which the press is located can be any plane, the main thing is that it be strong and solid. Usually the press is mounted on a workbench.

Homemade press on a workbench

First, we make the side racks on which the entire mechanism rests. To do this, we take two segments of the channel. From the bottom, to focus on each, the corners are attached with the letter T. In them, you can immediately make attachment points for subsequent installation on the base by drilling holes in four places from each edge. Then, according to the same principle, a corner is attached to the upper part of the channel, and the clamping part of the press is a metal plate on it.

Now, on the bottom of the support channels, you need to make fasteners for the springs that return the press mechanism back. To do this, two holes are drilled and a bolt is screwed in from the inside. Then, following the same principle, two upper fasteners are prepared on the underside of the pressure sheet.

Now it remains to make a stand for an impromptu press. To do this, cut off two profile pipes, the length of which is slightly longer than the side supports from the channel. They are connected in such a way that they tightly wrap around the vertical racks of the press, but do not pinch them. A jack is installed under them, and holes are drilled in place for its fastening.

Improvised press on a stand

Homemade press is ready. For smooth walking, the side channel is lubricated with grease or oil. When it becomes necessary to use it, the mechanism is installed on prepared fasteners and the frame is tightened with bolts.

It is easy to build an alarm in the garage with your own hands, no fancy “devices” are required for this. All that is needed is an old push-button telephone, a sealed contact, a spring-loaded switch, and preferably a breaker and wires.

Do-it-yourself garage phone alarm

The signaling is assembled as follows:

  1. On the phone, you need to set up a call to a subscriber with one click and enter your number.
  2. Then carefully disassemble it to connect the alarm wires.
  3. If on the device the “hang up” and “call” functions are controlled by one key, then the first wire is soldered to it, and the second to the speed dial digit.
  4. If the operation of these functions is separate, then the third wire from the alarm interrupter goes to the key.
  5. If the button is used with two contacts, then they are soldered to the call and dial function button.

Assembling a homemade garage alarm from a phone

When making such homemade products, keep in mind that the interrupt button will play the main role. It must be installed on the edge of the garage door between their opening and closing part. At the same time, it should be located so that rain moisture and snow do not fall on it. And the phone needs to be hidden in an inaccessible place, for example, in the far corner of the rack you built. To do this, it is necessary to solder long wires to the contacts in advance. When closing the garage, the breaker button is clamped by the garage door leaf, and at this time the alarm is in standby mode. When the gate is broken or opened, the contact opens and the circuit signal is sent to the telephone, which will dial the entered number.

Remember that homemade things like a garage alarm need a certain amount of mystery. You should not tell everyone and everything what a craftsman you are.

It is simply impossible without structures such as racks with shelves. On them you can put all the little things, spare parts, tools and attach a disassembled home-made press. In order for such homemade products to fit into the space of the garage, first determine the place for their installation. Usually they are designed on one side of the wall or at the end of the room. The width must be calculated so that there is free access to the car and the open doors do not touch the racks.

For shelving you will need:

  • bar with a section of 50x50 mm,
  • sheets of chipboard or OSB for the construction of shelves,
  • iron corners and nails.

The base of the rack must be strong, because the rather large weight of the laid out tools presses on the shelves. Do all the calculations in advance and only then get to work.

The basis of a homemade tool rack

The first bar is attached to the ceiling. This will require self-tapping screws with plastic plugs. Holes are drilled along a pre-marked line with a puncher in increments of 20–30 cm. Plugs are installed in them and the bar is attached to them with self-tapping screws. Then the plumb line determines the place of installation of the lower bar. Both the top and bottom bars should be on the same horizontal line so that the shelving is straight and strong.

Now you need to install the vertical racks. For better stability of the rack with shelves, they need to be fixed every 40–50 cm. They are fixed with nails, which are hammered using the “oblique slaughter” method or with the help of iron corners. We measure the distance from the upper bar to the lower one and, according to the size, we prepare the vertical elements of the rack frame.

Now you need to install horizontal jumpers to support the shelves, but first you need to outline the places for their attachment. To do this, you need a tape measure. From the floor we mark the distance to the installation of the first row of shelves on the rack on each vertically installed bar. Then we measure the distance between each rack. We cut the bars according to these sizes. Now they need to be fixed. We insert one between the racks and fix it with screws from the end, two on each side. Thus, we install all the elements of the frame. Then, from the installed bars, the second row of shelves on the rack is marked with a tape measure. Their installation is carried out in the same way.

Installation of frame elements of a homemade rack

It would be better to pre-calculate the number of shelves on the racks before installation and to assemble the frame according to the drawn up drawing or diagram.

Having assembled the outer frame, it remains to fix the bars on the wall to install the shelves. On the wall, at the level of each row of transverse beams on the frame, a line is marked. Then the building level checks the horizontal position and, according to the marking, a beam is attached along the entire length of the structure.

It remains to make shelves for the rack and install them. We measure the distance from the wall to the edge of the frame and from one vertical post to another. According to the obtained dimensions, we cut a sheet of chipboard, set it in place and, for reliability, fix it from above with self-tapping screws. We do all the shelves in the same way.

Doors are usually not made on racks; you can hang a dark fabric curtain along the entire length. That's all, the place to store the necessary things is ready. It remains to model a home-made workbench and it will be completed in the garage.

Homemade in the garage cannot be done without a workbench at your disposal. First, its support is assembled from the corners or a profile pipe. It is better to connect these parts by welding. But if it is not possible, then bolting is allowed. But for this you will have to additionally mark the connection points and drill holes. The convenient height of the finished workbench is 90 cm from the floor. So behind the workbench it will be more convenient to carry out work. But it is better for someone to repair while sitting, in which case the height of the workbench will be different. The dimensions and dimensions for each garage are different. And it is better to decide on them before assembly.

Having collected the base, we proceed to the manufacture of countertops for the workbench. The recommended thickness is 7-7.5 cm. Can be made from a single sheet of plywood with a thickness of 100 mm. If this is not possible, we will proceed in a different way. We glue the countertop from several sheets of ordinary plywood. The standard thickness is 1 cm and in this case 7 pieces will be enough. Having decided in advance on the size of the workbench (its upper part, where the tabletop will be attached), we saw off plywood on it. For connection, you can use PVA glue, but Moment or BF is better. You need to apply it to each sheet separately and, after holding for 3-5 minutes, connect all the sheets.

Making a worktop for a workbench from plywood

After that, the glued sheets must be laid on a level place and pressed down with a heavy load from above, everything should remain in this state for a day. In order not to cut each sheet of plywood to size, you can first glue them together, and then cut the tabletop for the workbench from the prepared material.

Now you need to cut off the iron sheet for the top cover of the working plane of the workbench, on which all work will be carried out (metal 4–6 mm thick is required). For accuracy, it is better to put it on plywood and circle the outline with an awl or nail. Then cut the sheet with a jigsaw equipped with a metal saw. You need to fasten the tabletop with bolts, pre-drilling holes in it and on the workbench. After assembling the workbench in its lower part, you can make small shelves and cabinets with doors. For this, any plywood or pieces of chipboard left after the manufacture of the racks are suitable.

Iron sheet for the top cover of the working plane of the workbench

A variety of homemade products greatly facilitate the life and workflow of a motorist. No need to look in the corners, where everything lies, all the details are in their place. And the alarm, simple in type of assembly, will reliably protect the garage from hacking or car theft.

For a true car enthusiast, a garage is a second home. And then the first. Therefore, everyone tries to take its arrangement and equipment seriously. The functionality of each square centimeter of area is also very important. This will allow you to work in a spacious room, and tools and spare parts will be stacked and arranged correctly and in perfect order. As for the arrangement in the domestic plan, we will not talk today, but today we will try to save on equipment.

What should be in the garage

In principle, there is no such device that could not be bought. True, not everyone has the opportunity to spend tidy sums on the purchase of Bosch equipment, by the way, it is useful to look through catalogs with Bosch equipment or Intertool, or Interskol. The young but frisky company Johnsway and Ombra, repainted from green to brown, have great experience and opportunities in this regard.

The catalogs contain a sea of excellent working equipment, fixtures and universal pullers, mandrels for all occasions and, of course, tools that are difficult to look at without a stingy male tear. But the cost in the catalogs is unreasonably high, as for a private trader. Service stations, of course, are in more favorable conditions, they earn money with equipment and God himself ordered them to have a better tool. Otherwise, such a master is worthless.

Garage Craftsman Wish List

Still, it’s worth making an approximate list of what should be in the workshop, and choose from it yourself. Here's what everyone would like to see:

  1. Lathe, small, but with a minimum set of functions. Naturally, it will not work completely on your own if you do not have a solid and accurate bed. The price from a Chinese manufacturer will be at least 23-28 thousand rubles. It is dangerous to buy domestic ones - many factories simply assemble equipment from Chinese components.
  2. Drilling machine. Useful when you need to perform precise drilling or minimal milling work. You can make it, and they are inexpensive. A drill stand costs 3,000 rubles if you buy a ready-made one, and a fully functional drill costs 20-30 thousand.
  3. A hydraulic press is an indispensable thing if you have to deal with shrinkage or pressing out of bushings, sleeves, bearings. It is built on the basis of a hydraulic jack.
  4. Emery. Necessary thing. Refuel the tool, sharpen the drill, fit the part to size, sharpen a spatula or knife, a universal device, so it’s better to buy a quality sharpener, which can cost 3-4 thousand, depending on the options. And options can be quite useful. For example, a flexible sleeve for turning a sharpener into a full-fledged drill for grinding or manual milling.
  5. Racks, shelves, boxes for storing tools and accessories.

This should be an approximate set of additional equipment, not counting welding, two or three angle grinders and two or three drills and screwdrivers of different capacities.

Homemade fixtures

An elementary frame for a grinder can become a universal home-made machine. Applications - mass, made from anything, up to a solid wooden frame. it will be useful in cases where it is necessary to process a small part carefully and with two hands, without clamping the part in a vise. Of course, this design has limitations, but as a small grinder or cut-off machine, it will work for five.

We do not indicate the dimensions, the designs and sizes of the grinders are different. The photos show the essence of the device, and it is not difficult to assemble it. It is worth working on fixing the grinder to the frame - so that it is quickly and securely fixed and quickly removed. Such a device is especially valuable for angle grinders with adjustable speed.

As a base, we use a chipboard sheet of suitable size, which is hinged, as in this design, or on latches, you can use a screw mount.

The drawing of a small lathe, which is presented, can be useful to those who occasionally have to deal with turning work, and it makes no sense to buy a desktop one. This project will certainly not satisfy those who need high precision and high spindle speeds, but for minimal turning work it will do. Instead of the spindle from the M10 bolt shown in the drawing, use a finished spindle or drill chuck.

Designed for processing wooden and plastic parts, the diameter of the part is up to 50 mm, and the length is up to 200, but can be revised if necessary. If we take it as a basis, then replacing the wooden base with any metal-roll, we get a kind of desktop machine for turning metal.

Various trifles are often folded in plastic buckets and boxes in the form of a kind of assortment. Therefore, finding the right small tool, drill or nut is quite problematic. For storing small things, jars of mustard, mayonnaise and other products with a metal or plastic lid that is firmly attached to the jar are perfect.

To organize easy access, you will have to sort through everything, separate the cutlets from the flies, the bolts by 10 from the nuts by 6 and sort everything into jars. Covers are screwed to shelves or any horizontal surface, and now it will not be difficult to find the necessary fasteners.

For horizontal storage of loose fasteners, magnetic containers can be used. Convenient thing. Fasteners will not crumble, always in sight, and containers can be arranged as space requires. The main thing is to fix a thin magnetic tape in the right place, and glue large metal washers to the bottom of the containers themselves.

More creative ideas that come to mind inventive craftsmen regarding the organization and storage of tools and fixtures, we have shown in the photo. Use your imagination and reinvent the wheel. And your garage will be the perfect place for a comfortable repair of your favorite car.

A garage is more than just a place to park a car. It is also a workshop, and a place of rest, and an interest club. Therefore, the arrangement of the garage should be convenient and thoughtful. In a small area, you need to place a lot of things, and it should be convenient to use them. This will help homemade for the garage. What people do not do with their own hands. From an elementary shelf to a complex device. All this can be made independently. But you need to know how. A few ideas for modernizing the garage and a plan for their implementation in the article.

Homemade for the garage: ideas for arrangement

Arranging a garage is a long process. You can’t do everything right away, you have to constantly modernize something, change, make something new. At the same time, they mainly use homemade products for the garage. It requires less money, and it’s even more fun - making the right thing out of the garbage is worth a lot.

Tire and wheel storage

Each car owner is faced with the problem of storing off-season "shoes" for the car. Where to stick the tires is a sore point. In general, how tires are stored depends on whether they are mounted on rims or not.

So tires with disks can be hung or stored lying down - in the form of a stack, stacking them one on top of the other. For hanging tires, you can use luggage straps, chains, a metal cable with a diameter of 4 mm or more in a polyethylene sheath. Fasten the belts to the ceiling, wall, to the beam located on top.

Another affordable way is to drive pins or hooks with a small bending radius into the wall. The distance between the hooks is slightly more than the diameter of the tires. The length of the pins must be such that they do not stick out of the tire. You can fill them almost under the ceiling so that the wheels fit.

Tires without rims can only be stored standing up. They make special shelves for them. They are usually welded from a profiled pipe. 20*20mm, maximum 30*30mm. You can also use a corner. It is inconvenient to weld a round pipe, but crossbars can be made from it - the tires fit and hold better in this case.

Shelf width - 4 times the width of the tire, plus a margin of 10-15 cm for some freedom. The height of the rear wall is slightly higher than the outer diameter of the wheel. The design is simple = the side resembles a right triangle. Having, it will not be difficult to weld such a shelf.

A tire storage shelf is a great DIY for the garage. This is a factory option with a completely inhumane price tag. But you can borrow the idea - the crossbars can be rearranged depending on the size of the tires ... you never know A tire rack in a garage with limited space. No tires - you can fold the shelf

Such shelves are usually hung on the wall. But the place must be chosen so that the light does not fall on the rubber - it deteriorates from this. Not the most difficult DIY for the garage, but very useful.

Workplace

Probably the largest number of garage homemade products is associated with workplace equipment and tool storage systems. And it's not the only way to solve this problem. First of all, you need to decide where the workplace will be located. There are three options:

  • Full width of the far wall. If the garage is long enough and it is possible to "steal" about 1.5 meters. Dignity - everything is located compactly, at hand, does not interfere with walking along the car. The disadvantage of this solution is that you have to carry tools far if work is carried out on the street.

    Countertop and many drawers. The main thing is to remember where everything is.

  • Along one of the long walls. This arrangement is chosen if the garage is wide, but not long enough. It makes sense to place a table and a workbench to the left of the entrance - from the driver's seat. But this is not critical. The disadvantage of such an arrangement of the workplace in the garage is that you have to move with some caution, but it is more convenient to bring in / take out tools on the street.

    The main thing is to place the tools correctly

  • Taking one of the corners. This is an intermediate option. Moreover, one of the sides can be made longer, the other - shorter.

    Putting a desktop in the corner of the garage, and putting a sofa next to it is not a solution to the problem. Taking two adjacent sides is a great idea.

A table or a workbench for a garage is made of boards, sheathed with plywood. Inexpensive, very reliable. If you have a welding machine and reconciliation skills, you can weld a frame from a corner or a profiled pipe. It is better to sheathe again with moisture-resistant plywood. This results in a smooth, abrasion-resistant surface. You can, of course, use and, but the laminating layer is quickly damaged.

To prevent the place from “walking”, you can install shelves under the tabletop or make drawers. Boxes are more convenient, but making them is still a hassle. It is quite possible to make shelves and put boxes knocked out of plywood on them. Plastic boxes and baskets are also suitable. But the walls must be thick.

By the way, there is a useful idea - to make a rack for storing tools from used canisters. Look for the ones with the handle on top. Further, everything is simple - one of the sidewalls is cut out and in the future this canister is used as a box.

It is not necessary to make a whole rack - it is still difficult to remember where, what is. But by the same principle, you can make boxes for shelves. By the way, you can stick inscriptions or pictures on the ends (identification is faster with pictures). Such homemade garage crafts bring satisfaction - creating a useful thing from garbage is a pleasant feeling.

Tool storage

The most difficult task is to organize the storage of tools in the garage. It is necessary to make sure that everything is in order, but, at the same time, is at hand and in plain sight. Moreover, closed boxes are suitable only for very organized people who always put the thing they have taken in its place. Otherwise, you will constantly rummage through the boxes, forgetting where everything is. There are several ideas for convenient storage of small items and tools. These are very simple homemade products for the garage.

An ordinary metal mesh will help to quickly solve the problem. A reinforcing mesh of 2 mm wire, a cage of 10 cm is suitable. Attach it to the wall, bite off some twigs, bend them, make hooks, crossbars, etc. out of them. You can buy special hooks that are attached to the net (available in stores selling commercial equipment), ordinary double-sided hooks that can be bought or made from wire are also suitable.

Grid on the wall - a way to quickly organize tool storage

Screwdrivers are conveniently stored on a special shelf. Take a board, plywood, 10-15 mm thick. The board must be well sanded - so that there are no splinters. Then, in a plane, drill holes of different diameters in one or two rows. If the board is wide enough, you can make larger holes - for chisels or even for hammer handles. Clean all the chips again. Now we need to come up with a wall mount. You can use a regular bracket. Screwdrivers, chisels, and other similar material are inserted into the holes. Convenient, fast, everything.

There are also useful homemade products for the garage that allow you to organize the storage of hand tools. Pliers, pliers, wire cutters, etc. placement is problematic. Can be hung on a net. It is convenient to shoot, but not to hang. But there is a simple solution - attach a narrow board and put a tool on it. To make it fit comfortably, grind off the board on one side. When cut, it should look like an isosceles triangle.

Another simple idea for storing cordless tools, chargers and spare batteries for them. Make a shelf as in the photo above. Cuts of various formats are made in the lower part, and the upper ones are used as ordinary shelves. The idea is that everything is in one place, quickly gets / installed in place. These homemade garage crafts will make your workplace comfortable. Keeping order will be easy.

Homemade carriers for the garage

Even with very good lighting in the garage itself or during the day on the street, visibility under the bottom of the car is very low. To illuminate the front of work, portable lamps are used - carrying. These are the simplest homemade for the garage. With them, you can start the epic of arranging and equipping the garage space.

In the simplest version, this is a cartridge attached to a wire; a small screen with a hook can be attached to it. This is such an uncomplicated thing. Light bulbs are used ordinary - incandescent or housekeeper under a standard cartridge. Everything is not bad, except that these bulbs beat very often, you need to look for how to hang them so that they shine in a specific place. In general, the design needs to be improved. There are several modification options.

Unbreakable lamp socket

This plastic bottle shade perfectly protects the fragile bulb of an energy-saving lamp. You can also use an LED lamp, but the incandescence will not work - it heats up too much. The design is ordinary - a cord with a plug and a cartridge at the end.

The main task is to find a plastic vessel with walls made of translucent milky plastic of medium thickness. Transparent will not work - it will not scatter light, too thin walls will not save the lamp from impacts. After you have found a suitable vessel, a trifle remains:

Everything is simple, but such a ceiling allows you to brightly illuminate exactly the right area, the rest of the space is flooded with even light that does not hurt your eyes.

Carrying out LED recessed downlight

The simplest and most common garage homemade products are portable lamps. Without them, it is inconvenient to work not only in, but even just on a workbench. You need a flat recessed LED lamp that can be switched on at 220 V. These models are called "pills" because of their shape. You also need a cord with a plug, a piece of plastic window sill - to build in a lamp. A piece of window sill should be larger than the lamp. Choose your own dimensions. Further actions are:

Everything, homemade carrying is ready. This option is for floor installation. The movable leg allows you to change the angle of inclination. To make it turn over less, a couple of weights can be fixed inside the case (in its lower part).

Attach the carry cord to the ceiling

Conveniences are made up of little things, and very simple homemade products for the garage help in this. For example, you can remove the cable from a portable lamp that is always tangled under your feet. Carrying is usually done with a cheap cable. It is not the most flexible, does not fold well, its coils on the floor fall under your feet. In general, it is inconvenient to use. You can protect yourself and carrying - hang the cable from the ceiling. The solution is simple but very effective.

Here's a "suspension" to the ceiling for carrying, you can do it yourself in an hour

  • Two anchors with a ring at the end.
  • Cable tie.
  • Clamp clamp.
  • Metal cable. The length depends on the size of the garage - it is necessary from one wall to another.
  • Steel/plastic rings or steel wire and a piece of pipe to make these rings.
  • Carry with a long cable - its length is about twice the length of the garage.

The cable is pulled along the long side of the garage. It is more convenient - not far from the "working" wall, where a workbench or other equipment is located. Little work:

Well, that's all. You can use. With such a device, the carrier can be pulled to any end of the garage, while the cable does not get confused and does not cling. Convenient, takes little time.

Do-it-yourself garage compressor

A compressor is needed in any garage. And by the way, this is not the most difficult homemade for the garage. A low-power compressor for a garage for inflating tires and other small jobs can be done with your own hands from auxiliary materials. For example, from the compressor from the refrigerator. For this you will need:

  • refrigerator compressor;
  • a sealed container with thick walls (you can use a flask from a fire extinguisher, a small gas cylinder);
  • safety valve 8 atm;
  • manometer;
  • fitting;
  • oxygen hoses with couplings (choose the length based on the size of your spare parts);
  • base for the compressor - a thick board, a piece of plywood will do.

In order not to pump any muck into the tires, it is also advisable to put a filter - to separate oils, dust and other contaminants. The diagram of a homemade compressor is shown in the photo.

The compressor must be equipped with a starting device. We plug it into the network, look into which tube air is sucked in, mark it. You can put a car filter on it - clean air will be pumped.

We assemble an oil separator receiver from a cylinder and a safety valve. To do this, we cut two fittings into the cylinder - for air inlet and outlet. At the inlet we put a safety valve to it with the help of an oxygen hose we connect the compressor outlet.

We put another car oil filter on the outlet of the oil separator receiver - to remove the oil completely. We connect the filter to the pressure gauge, and from it comes a hose, which is connected to the bus through the appropriate adapter.

Assembly completed. But in order to carry this device comfortably, everything needs to be fixed in some way. You can weld the frame to size, attach wheels and a handle for easy transportation. One of the compressor options for pumping wheels is described in the video. There is no receiver, but the oil filter performs its functions. You can do it this way, but with a receiver, the design is more reliable.

Since the compressor in the refrigerator is small, it can take a long time to inflate the wheels. It can be made more powerful by installing two compressors that will run simultaneously. Accordingly, the pressure will build up twice as fast. But in such an installation, a more solid security group is required. Such homemade products require a little more equipment, since the circuit is still more complicated.

Any car enthusiast is able to make a variety of garage accessories with their own hands, using inexpensive materials and the simplest tool. Such home-made crafts of a home craftsman turn a caravan into a full-fledged workshop.

If you plan to do your own maintenance of your vehicle in the garage, as well as make a variety of repairs and do your own crafts, it will be difficult to do without a workbench. It is usually made of wooden boards, which are mounted on a reliable base (metal profiled pipe or wooden thick beam).

It is allowed to make a desktop from metal blanks. It is easy to cut them to the required dimensions and assemble them into one solid structure using steel corners and hardware (, screw connections, bolts, and so on) or using a welding machine.

The manufacture of wood or always begins with the preparation of a detailed design drawing. You must correctly evaluate the working space of your garage and fit the desktop into it as harmoniously as possible. It is advisable to provide for the presence of shelves and drawers (drawers) on the workbench. They allow you to keep all sorts of tools close at hand. It is recommended to install a small vise on the countertop.

Making a metal workbench

If your garage has shelves or racks (or you want to mount them), experts advise installing a workbench next to them.

Then you will get an excellent work area where you can do any homework, producing original and useful homemade crafts for the home.

  1. Assemble the tabletop from boards with geometric parameters suitable for you (for example, 200 by 10 by 5 cm), connecting wooden products to each other with metal ties and good glue. For a standard workbench, suitable for any garage, it is enough to take 20 of these boards.
  2. On the countertop, make special grooves (on 5 and 16 boards in a row) for stops. The groove parameters are 2.5 by 2.5 cm.
  3. After the glue has dried, the countertop must be planed so that a perfectly flat work surface is obtained.
  4. From bars 80 by 10 by 10 cm you make legs for a workbench. Grooves should be provided in the front supports. You will insert brackets into them, which you will then connect to the beam (longitudinal).
  5. Assemble the base of the underframe from two frames made of boards 10 by 5 cm, and fix it to the support. The frames are cut into the legs of the workbench by about 2.5 cm, and then they are bolted.
  6. Attach the supporting walls (rear and side) to the resulting structure. They can be made from centimeter plywood or chipboard sheets.

Now you need to connect the top frame to the tabletop. This operation is carried out without problems with the help of bolts. Do not forget to apply drying oil to the made wooden workbench and varnish it. On such a table, you will make any crafts with special pleasure!

The motorhome of any vehicle owner over time turns into a kind of warehouse where a variety of items and tools are stored. They all need to find a comfortable place so that each fixture is easy to find. A hand-made rack allows you to efficiently organize the storage of tools.

You can make such a design from metal and wood. In the latter case, use solid wood - beech or oak. Shelves and drawers from them are able to withstand quite serious loads. According to accepted standards, the rack must hold a pressure of at least 150–160 kg. At the same time, it is not recommended to load home-made structures with things that generally weigh more than 500 kg.

Wood rack

Let's see how you can quickly make a garage rack, spending a minimum of money on the purchase of materials. The scheme of work is as follows:

  1. Take a board 9 cm wide, cut it into pieces of different sizes (18–30 cm). We will use these segments as supports for the rack.
  2. Make shelves from a more powerful board - 19 cm thick. To do this, you will need to saw it into pieces of the desired length.
  3. Mark the board for the base of the structure, indicating on it the location of the spacers (they are usually removed from the edge of the base by 2.5–3 cm). Now you need to attach (it is advisable to use construction glue) the upper spacer and nail to it (with ordinary nails of suitable sizes) the top shelf of the rack. Then repeat these manipulations with other shelves and spacers. At the very last turn, the lower expanding element is attached.
  4. Turn the assembled structure over, tighten the base of the rack with spacers using screws.

The building for storing various tools and things is almost ready. You only need to sand the rack and then apply oil varnish to the wood (it is better to do two layers), and then attach the self-made structure to the wall with anchor screws. The places where the rack is attached to the wall are under the lowest and highest shelves.

A home-made clamping device, which is sometimes impossible to do without at home, is very simple to do. You will need:

  • hydraulic jack;
  • metal platform;
  • profile pipes with a section of 6x6 and 4x4 centimeters (each will require two pieces).

The press is done in this way:

  1. Attach two vertical guides (pipes 4 by 4 cm) to the base of the structure.
  2. Weld between them (at the very top) a piece of pipe 6 by 6 cm.
  3. Install another 6 by 6 cm pipe so that it moves without difficulty along the mounted guides.

Homemade garage press

The use of such a technical homemade product is elementary - you lay the products that you want to connect on the working surface of the press, cover them with a thick plywood sheet, lower the jumper pipe with the jack placed on it. You only need to apply pressure to the jack to glue two products or your own crafts for ages.

But with the help of the next homemade product - a cyclone vacuum cleaner, you can always put things in perfect order in the garage. It is made from a dense plastic or (which is better) from a metal container. It must be airtight. The scheme for making homemade products for effective garbage collection in a motorhome is as follows:

  1. Make two holes in the lid of the container. Place the first at the edge, the second - in the central part. The diameters of the holes must correspond to the sections of the hoses that you will connect to the device. One hose is brought to the hole from the edge, it is designed to collect debris, the other is needed to connect a conventional vacuum cleaner.
  2. In the inlet pipe of the described homemade product, you need to install a plastic elbow. It will ensure the process of swirling (cyclone) air in the tank. Due to this knee, the effectiveness of such a homemade product increases, which easily and quickly sucks in small stones, lumps of dirt, sawdust and other solid contaminants. All of them will be collected in the tank that you connected to the vacuum cleaner.

When heated, the material from which bottles for mineral water and various drinks are made can shrink. This gives us the opportunity to make an excellent rope out of such containers. With its help, you can very firmly connect various parts and assemblies in the caravan and in general in the household.

Rope from a plastic bottle

To make a device for making homemade cords, you need to stock up on two bolts with washers and nuts, metal washers, a piece of thin board or plywood, a stationery blade and an electric drill. We make the device like this:

  1. In the middle of the board or plywood, place two washers, mark their centers.
  2. Drill holes in the marked centers with a drill.
  3. Drill holes from the reverse side (this is a mandatory procedure to ensure that there is no twisting and rotation when using the device).
  4. Screw in the bolts.

The use of this craft is simple. It is necessary to put several washers on the protruding sections of the bolts (their number determines the thickness of the rope to be cut). Then, a clerical knife should be placed on top of the washers (you can even use a piece of it) and strengthen the structure by mounting a few more washers and tightening the nuts until they stop. After that, the homemade device must be fixed with clamps on a garage workbench or other work surface.

Next, we take a two-liter plastic bottle, cut out the bottom from it, cut a strip (very small) of the required length and install our “blank” under the knife. The tape must be pulled with one hand, while holding the container to be cut with the other. From one bottle of 2 liters you will get about 25 meters (linear) of excellent rope with high shrink characteristics.

For the rational use of space, do-it-yourself communications and garage accessories from improvised materials are used. It is necessary to involve the walls, the underground level in the process, to place machines inside the room, to organize normal lighting.

Homemade garage fixtures

For comfortable operation of the premises intended for storing cars, you should follow certain recommendations:

  • the tool must be as accessible as possible;
  • storage areas equipped with shelves / racks are much more convenient;
  • workbenches, a viewing hole, home-made machines and do-it-yourself garage accessories expand the capabilities of the car owner;
  • the cellar allows you to save the space of the site;
  • the quality of lighting depends on the performance of work, minor repairs.

Organization of workspace inside the garage

Depending on the dimensions of the building, the area occupied by equipment, fixtures, communications should not be more than 10 - 20% of the size of the garage floor.

Storage areas, racks, workbenches

In 80% of cases, do-it-yourself garage fixtures are built to store accessories, tools, and car equipment. It should be noted that the most bulky parts of the car are sets of winter / summer tires, depending on the season.

Tire storage rules

It is more convenient to store wheels on brackets of the following design:

  • two triangular frames from a corner, connected by jumpers from any rolled metal;
  • triangles are attached to the wall, the wheels are installed perpendicular to the supporting structure, slightly falling between the jumpers.

Wheel storage brackets

This is the most economical option for storing rubber in the off-season. The most demanded by motorists are straight and corner workbenches. The lower space is usually filled with shelves or drawers; grinding machines and a vice are located on the table top.

Homemade garage workbench

An example of organizing a corner workplace

A folding workbench can be very convenient

Wood is a versatile material for both workbenches and shelving

It is easier to build a wooden workbench on your own, but it has a smaller resource than an analogue from rolled metal that needs to be welded. If corners for shelves are not laid in the load-bearing walls during construction, it is easier to make racks from rolled metal or lumber.

Homemade garage shelving

Use for glass bottle racks

Built-in wardrobes are very compact

Original hanging shelves are suitable for storing long items

The design and layout of shelving inside each garage is too individual to follow general guidelines.

Observation hole and cellar

An inspection hole becomes a necessary device for a garage with your own hands. Moreover, the owner does not have to do all the repairs himself. Underground communication can be used in the following cases:

  • inspection of the running, steering, braking system before a long trip;
  • an oil change that saves money and does not take much time;
  • minor repairs, which allows the qualification of the owner.

Inspection hole in the garage

The entrance to the cellar is more convenient to arrange from the pit, as this will allow you to concrete several steps instead of using a ladder.

Cellar under the garage

The main nuances of these structures are:

  • swelling of clay soils is harmful to underground structures;
  • therefore, all elements of the pit and cellar are insulated with polystyrene foam from the outside;
  • in the underlying layer before concreting, backfilling of the sinuses of the pits, sand or crushed stone is used;
  • along the perimeter of underground structures at the level of the sole, drains are laid to collect and drain water.

The width of the pit should allow the driver to drive into it without lighting.

Lighting and ventilation

In garages, parallel lighting circuits are more often used. One lamp allows you to use a specific area, several devices are turned on during a major repair, a visit to the cellar. The minimum power consumption is provided by LED lamps. Daylight devices have a large resource.

Cars use poisonous, harmful fuels and lubricants, so do-it-yourself garage ventilation devices are becoming relevant, allowing you to create air exchange. The inflow is organized from below:

  • garage - vents in masonry, protected by bars;
  • cellar - a pipe from the garage or from the street.

Ventilation of the garage and cellar under it

The hood is mounted under the ceiling of the cellar, the roof of the garage or has the form of air vents in the main walls at the highest points.

Hydropress

The simplest design of a hydraulic press is obtained from an automobile hydraulic jack. For pressing out / pressing in bearings, pressing / compressing parts, you will need to build a frame and a removable movable stop. The frame consists of 4 channels welded to each other. At the top, the structure is reinforced with stiffening ribs (kerchiefs), at the bottom, transverse corners are added to give the frame stability.

Do-it-yourself hydraulic press from a jack

The stop is pulled up in the normal position to the upper crossbar of the frame by powerful springs. A hydraulic jack is installed between them, as necessary pressing the stop to the lower crossbar of the frame. The force of the press is regulated by a jack, the dimensions of the working area are selected depending on the size of the workpieces.

Interesting do-it-yourself homemade garage

Ready "motorhome" over time acquires a large number of tools. Ordinary homemade products for the garage bring practical benefits without cash overpayments. Any do-it-yourself machines will not be inferior in quality to factory counterparts. Let's take a look at some of the fixtures.

Knife sharpener

So, a useful device gets a hole for the stem in the bolt. The rod is made by hand from thin wire. The carving is done taking into account the length of the whetstones.

Bar Clip can be crafted from:

  • organic glass;
  • ebonite;
  • saw clamp.

The upper part of the plate acts as a clamp. The surface with two drilled holes is applied to the frame. Then, closer to the knife, a common through hole is made. A thread is cut in the frame.

So, a home-made device with your own hands is almost ready. The second hole is made only on the plate away from the knife. Then cut the thread for the bolt (needed for tightening). A simple homemade mechanism for the garage allows you to sharpen knives on the go.

A bar made of artificial diamonds is affordable and very wear-resistant.

Pulley for adjusting the speed and load on the engine of the machine

  • metal;
  • textolite;
  • plywood (something between wood and metal).

In plywood, one small and two larger circles are cut with a jigsaw. The center of the molds must match the diameter of the shaft. So that there are no problems with further manipulations, the circles are glued together or sit on a screw and tightened with a nut.

Details of a useful device are tightened with screws. Then the pulley should be processed with sandpaper or a file, putting the structure on the drill chuck. The finished fragment of the machine can be additionally proliferated.

  1. Avoid vibration, make sure that the center of gravity falls on the axis of rotation.
  2. You can make a toothed pulley. At the central circle, small tubules are made to all stages of assembly.
  3. If necessary, a small pulley is made from a thick piece of plywood (one circle). A groove is made in the mold, the part is mounted on the screw. A narrow file is applied to the rotating circle.

Do-it-yourself vacuum forming of sheet plastic

  • top and bottom frames;
  • molding plastic;
  • tie bolts;
  • perforated MDF;
  • opening for the vacuum chamber;
  • plywood base with a hole in the middle.

In a fragment of MDF or plywood (50 by 50 cm), a hole is made for a PVC pipe with a three-inch diameter. A frame of bars (30 by 30 cm) is attached to the resulting base with glue. To obtain tightness, all cavities are smeared with sealant.

The edge of the water pipe is glued to the base with one end, and the other end is attached to the vacuum cleaner hose. The whole structure is on its feet.

Certain holes are cut in the upper and lower frames to accommodate the vacuum chamber frame (strongly glued to the base). Cavities for fasteners are made along the perimeter of the frame at an equal distance.

Types of thermoplastic used:

DIY jigsaw

  1. A steel square with a bolt soldered into it is made by hand as a file holder block.
  2. The improved block is soldered to the old saw holder.
  3. Focus on the desktop. Plywood is chosen as the base. The narrow area of \u200b\u200bthe table in size repeats the parameters of the jigsaw.
  4. Furniture legs are mounted in the front plane of the table, a small wooden stand is fixed to the back plane of the working area.
  5. To create a lever, use only hardwoods.
  6. The lever hole must be created a little larger than the diameter of the stud (regulates the spring tension).

The described home-made craft should stand on a "sole" that will not interfere with the workflow. If necessary, a corner is cut in the area of the base plate.

A set of cutters for artistic turning with your own hands

A semicircular grooved chisel is used for rough turning. The part is made from strips of tool steel.

Universal cutting device is used for finishing parts. The tool is made from standard straight chisels.

Shape cutters:

    chisel-scraper.

a tool based on a straight chisel with one-sided sharpening levels the surface of cylindrical blanks;

a home-made device helps to thread and apply decorative risks to a wooden rod.

The cutting tool for soft wood species (aspen, linden) has a smaller sharpening angle compared to the sharpening angle of the device for processing boxwood, oak, birch.

Homemade extension cord with two outlets

The "proprietary" reel for the extension cord is made from two plywood discs that are bolted together. The fragments are separated by a duralumin tube and washers.

On one side of the reel, the bolts are recessed so that contact with the handle is without injury. On the other side, two holes for sockets are drilled at a certain distance. Socket boxes are attached with screws.

Proper storage and use of the tool

Each pipe is fastened with a plywood plate with self-tapping screws through the slot. To prevent the pipe fragment from loosening during operation, pieces of glazing beads are glued under the sides of the holder with PVA glue.

When it is necessary to hang the holder on the garage wall, the handle is inserted into the tube of the holder. The handle stand fits snugly into the slot and is fixed. With such additional equipment, the coil is mounted on the ceiling or on the bottom of the shelves.

To make the ram of the extension easily rotate, a small handle is mounted on the edge of the disk of the device, which consists of tubular sections of various diameters. A larger diameter pipe is put on a smaller hose and rigidly fixed with a flat screw.

DIY homemade for the garage: the best ideas with photos

Useful DIY garage crafts

Most often, during the initial arrangement, all the necessary furniture is ordered. But if you rent a room or do not want to take money out of the family budget for this, then you will be able to settle on your own, especially if you know how to hold basic tools in your hands. To help yourself and for inspiration, you can use the video from do-it-yourself homemade for the garage (youtube can please you with a variety of ideas), or you can take into account the tips for arranging, which will be the basis for a successful layout.

If you look at the photo that demonstrates the optimal set of useful furniture elements, then note the useful nuances for yourself. First, the location of any storage system must be located at a certain distance from the walls. It is believed that there should be at least half a meter between the machine standing inside the room and the rack for normal, comfortable work inside. If the shape of your car storage is more like a rectangle rather than a square (this happens quite often), then it is worth moving all the storage for tools and useful things into one zone along the far wall opposite the door. It is here that you can, with maximum convenience, put not only a table or a rack, but even a carpentry or lathe. It would be useful to mention that all the storage of your tools should be located inside the garage only if it is securely closed or protected by tightly closed gates in the country. Otherwise, it is better to place there only the most necessary, preferably, not of particular value to the robbers.

If you provide for the installation of windows with your own hands in a separate room, which is located on the territory of your suburban area, then it is better to make them of the so-called attic type, that is, located in the roof, and choose a place just above such a work area. In summer and spring, such an arrangement of windows will help you save on lighting, there will be enough sunlight for all types of work, and besides, you can also ventilate the room, because ventilation can not always cope well, especially if you are going to work out inside, like in a workshop.

With a total shortage of money or for the love of art, you can also make an original storage system using old empty canisters. Any motorist accumulates quite a lot of them in a year, and if you ask your neighbors, then there will be enough of such an interesting locker for each compartment. Of course, there is nothing complicated here, and to perform such do-it-yourself homemade for the garage video- Lessons are not needed. You need to take a plastic canister, wash it well so that no traces of its contents remain. Armed with metal scissors, a knife or other tool, we cut off the front cover from the canister, but so that the sides remain and the contents do not overflow. To make the structure more stable, you can fix it on the back wall with self-tapping screws, but we will, of course, drive them not into the wall, but into a wooden rail, which we attach to dowels.

Do-it-yourself homemade for the garage photo

The same option as shown in the photo can be used in homemade products for summer cottages, because there, too, you often need to equip a workshop, and even less space is allocated for it than remains in the garage. For such a design, you will need to build a frame from wooden boards, and make notches along its upper and lower edges, where the cells will be inserted. Most likely, the inspiration for this design was the classic hives that are used in breeding bees, the system here is exactly the same. Sheets that are inserted inside have a perforated surface and the presence of these small holes will allow you to screw carnations inside, hang hooks to hang tools and useful devices as conveniently as possible so that they do not fly off when pulling out and pushing in.

Exactly the same perforation can be inscribed in a furniture set. With such a complete set of everything you need for a home craftsman, you can build a lot of useful homemade for the garage with your own hands, video who are online. In terms of popularity, such resources may soon overtake popular hand-made projects, because men, no less than women, want to make the space around them, their kingdom, beautiful, functional, and comfortable.

Interesting do-it-yourself homemade for the garage

We are accustomed to either simply throwing out tires that are completely worn out, or we can make crafts from tires for the garden with our own hands. Having exhausted the last winter set for a swan or a flowerpot, this year you may well single it out for yourself by making a whole furniture set. Frankly, not only car tires, but also bicycle tires will come in handy for this purpose, because they can be used to construct backrests, turning a stool into an armchair.

Practice making such furniture and soon you will be able to completely replace your coffee table with such a table in the living room with your own hands, tire crafts not only look beautiful, but can also become part of the original design concept.

A table and chairs are great, there will be somewhere to sit, but with the question of how to cook a delicious barbecue, our next idea will help here. The fact is that an ordinary folding brazier may not maintain the required temperature of coals for a long time, and if you like to sit around the fire for a long time, you should make something more ambitious. We will modernize the garden wheel crafts a little and present to your attention a brazier made on the basis of a wheel rim. In order for the rim to maintain the set temperature well and prevent the coals from cooling down, it must be overlaid with bricks, but for the maximum decorative effect of such a homemade product, it is better to file them a little with a grinder to fold them in a circle. The bottom must be covered with any available material that does not support combustion, for example, crushed stone of a fine fraction.

Do-it-yourself homemade garage drawings

If you plan to spend a lot of time in your impromptu workshop, then among the ones you are interested in do-it-yourself homemade for the garage - heating, lighting, ventilation, that is, the arrangement of a full-fledged comfortable stay inside for a long time. Some people prefer to install infrared heaters, but in terms of the cost of electricity, this will not be a very rational option. Water heating can be a good option, but it is best designed in garages that are located next to a residential building.

You can place solid fuel boilers of any design inside any type of garage, even make your own metal stove-stove using a welding machine. But do not forget that with this type of heating, the interior decoration should be made of non-combustible materials, and the ventilation should be done with high quality, even at the stage when we build the roof with our own hands, in order to remove all combustion products from the room in a timely manner.

DIY homemade machines for the garage

If you have a need for some specific work, then you can use special machines, for example, a pipe bending machine, which can be useful not only for motorists, but also for motorcycle owners.

DIY Garage Tools - Turn your caravan into a home workshop!

Necessary tools and materials

Any car enthusiast is able to make a variety of garage accessories with their own hands, using inexpensive materials and the simplest tool. Such home-made crafts of a home craftsman turn a caravan into a full-fledged workshop.

Garage workbench - it's hard to do without it!

It is easy to cut them to the required dimensions and assemble them into one solid structure using steel corners and hardware (universal self-tapping screws, screw connections, bolts, and so on) or using a welding machine.

The manufacture of a wooden or metal workbench always begins with a detailed design drawing.

Shelving is a must for the garage!

Useful technical homemade products for the garage - a press and a cyclone vacuum cleaner

A home-made clamping device, which is sometimes impossible to do without at home, is very simple to do. You will need:

  • hydraulic jack;
  • metal platform;

A device for making strong rope from plastic bottles
