A chair made of plastic bottles. Making furniture from plastic bottles with your own hands, the subtleties of the process. Making blocks from bottles

Craftsmen and novices alike use plastic bottle crafts for interiors, as garden decor and as practical furniture. Colored plastic bottle caps are great material for mosaic murals on walls and hedges. The best ideas with detailed instructions and photos can be easily implemented in the country, turning a bare plot into a "meadow of fairy tales", and filling the house with useful little things.

One of the craziest pens of the Runet, Roman Ursu, presented a crazy video in which he showed 70 ways to use plastic bottles.

Advantages of crafts from plastic containers

A well-made souvenir or trinket will eventually grow into a hobby if there are no limits to imagination. Summer residents, who have moved from simple hedges on a wire to buildings that delight in scope, do not cease to admire.

From the available material, which many throw away, someone constructs:

  • greenhouse;
  • carport;
  • summer shower or bath;
  • country toilet or shed;
  • summer gazebo or sun shade;
  • teremok for children or playground;
  • sandbox with decorative bumpers;
  • various temporary buildings on the site.

Over time, plastic becomes a real environmental disaster - it is difficult to recycle it. But it is worth attracting everyone who is not indifferent to cleaning the territory, and there will be a whole mountain of empty PET bottles for the construction of a greenhouse, a cascade flower bed or vertical gardening. The only drawback is the long collection of the same container, since containers are produced in different colors and volumes.

To create an original jewelry you need:

  • interesting idea;
  • ready-made role model (illustration);
  • material for crafts with tools;
  • a step-by-step guide to the training plan.

In the hands of a real master, plastic bottles find a second life, becoming functional objects. Souvenirs are best done on a seasonal basis. For example, New Year's toys are made in the winter, practical summer cottages - in the summer, and in the spring and autumn it remains to build a "meadow of fairy tales" near the house for children.

Furniture and interior items from plastic bottles

Furniture made from plastic bottles looks like a masterpiece that is not available to everyone. They will need a lot of plastic containers of the same sample. Sofas and poufs impress with their design and comfort, not inferior to real furniture. There is nothing complicated if the sofa is made in blocks - seat, back, sidewalls. If the container is not enough, the blocks of the sofa can be made one by one. Better when collecting bottles from under one drink, for example, a two-liter kvass or lemonade.

The principle of "assembling" furniture from bottles is simple - they are laid out in layers and wrapped tightly with tape. To make the furniture softer and more springy, a little air is released from each bottle and screwed tightly. To the place where the lid is, cut a cap from another bottle and fasten it with tape. It turns out a block with a bottom on both sides - this is the basis of the furniture.

Then it all depends on the imagination, the type of furniture and the number of bottles available. We wound up with tape 7 containers of the same volume, it turns out the basis for the ottoman. What will be its appearance and style depends on the master. For a soft seat, you will need a round pillow or foam block to fit the top. The cover is cut to fit the ottoman in the form of a cylinder, and it is convenient to insert a zipper along the side seams, but it is easier to sew the upholstery tightly.

To build a coffee table, you will need 4 racks of plastic bottles and a plywood board as a table top, which can be hidden with a long tablecloth. In a similar way, they make a comfortable stand for a laptop or a portable table for a summer cottage. For large furniture (sofa, chaise longue or armchair) made from plastic bottles, it will take a lot of patience and raw material.

Useful little things for home from plastic bottles

Flowers and vases

Decorating a student's bedroom or children's room with crafts from plastic containers is not difficult. You can build a whole bunch of artificial flowers. Put the resulting chrysanthemums, chamomile or roses in a vase of the same material, complementing the middle with diode bulbs on an insulated wire. This will look like a night light of extraordinary beauty, where a weak light shimmers in plastic petals.

Advice: To give the leaves a special shape, use heating the blanks and folding the corners with tongs!

To place a homemade bouquet, you need a suitable vessel, just cutting off part of the bottle is not aesthetically pleasing. The edges of the cut are marked with a ruler to make a cut, securing the result by heating the folds. A small transparent bottle is cut off to the very top, about half of a large container is cut off. Choose a material with a ribbed or “waist” in the middle for an interesting base.

Then we do it as our imagination allows, but bend the edges beautifully. A fringed cut is obtained from vertical or diagonal notches of a plastic base. The resulting stripes are bent evenly to the outside.

Note! It is important that all notches and the depth of the slot are exactly the same, then the whole product will come out neat.

Depending on which edge is desirable, the strips of the vase (the edges of any other product) are fixed in different ways:

  • curly bend;
  • staple staples;
  • fusing;
  • bonding with transparent polymers.

Planters, flower pots and seedling containers

Colored plastic containers in the form of bottles and bottles of different sizes are suitable as containers for growing live plants. It is very easy to make a fragrant balcony from 3-liter cisterns - a cascade of ampelous petunias. Fragrant flowers hanging from cut containers will help to realize the dream of a beautiful corner of paradise.

Large bottles and tanks, cut in half, are hung upside down and with a lid. It is recommended to lay large pebbles at the bottom for drainage. Excess water after watering will go to the plants in the lower rows. Plants are grown in the same containers without soil - hydroponically with the addition of fertilizers. Fresh greens and seedlings (in urban and suburban conditions) are also germinated in prepared plastic bottles.

Advice: Use the compact shape and the ability to hang vertical landscaping containers with automatic irrigation. In the absence of the owners, watering cans with water, immersed in the ground, will cope with the moisture of the plants.

Traps and feeders

Use plastic bottles to repel pests or attract birds to your area. For this, the tank is used as a feeder, and traps from bottles with chemicals are placed at the roots of fruit trees. From a double plastic container, craftsmen construct traps for wasps, where they fly into sweet water and cannot get out.

Suburban area equipment

At the dacha "hastily" it is easy to build handicrafts from plastic bottles in the form of an impromptu washbasin, hanging a full bottle upside down. Unscrew the lid a little, and a small stream of water will help wash your face and hands. It is also worth making a bench and organizing lighting with beautiful owls or gnomes from their plastic. Any garden decor for inspiration - in interesting illustrations.

Multifunctional items for the home

Make an original cosmetic bag from 2 bottoms of plastic bottles, sewing the edges with a zipper. This box can be used as a multifunctional item - a piggy bank, a case for large beads, hairpins or jewelry.

It is convenient to knit from a similar ball, suspended somewhere nearby, pulling the thread from the ball inserted inside. Nail polish or lipstick collection is easier to find in a makeshift zippered jewelry box.

New Year's decor

Original all seasonal flower beds

The summer season passes, and natural flower beds are replaced by homemade plastic flowers that are not inferior in beauty to the real ones. Their advantage is the ability to decorate the territory at any time. These flower gardens pale against the background of living plants, but in early spring and late autumn, they alone attract rapturous glances.

For daisies, you will need small plastic containers of white (petals), yellow (middle) and green (leaves). You will also need an awl and a candle (for warming up), "liquid nails", scissors and a stiff wire in green insulation.

Cut the base of the white bottle to the center, marking out 16 segments - these are the petals. We bend the neat edges over the candle flame, we also make 2-3 chamomile corollas, which we connect in the center with an awl. Here, a stem with leaves is fixed on a green wire, closing with a middle. We fill the center of the flower with a yellow basket with small cuts from 2 finely dissected circles with a fringe curved over the candle. We supplement the flower with green sepals from the bottom, collect all the parts and fix them together.

From the remaining pieces of green plastic, cut out leaves with a hole at the base (for stringing) and give the desired shape, warming up over a candle flame. We attach the leaves on the wire handle, they should slightly bend around it. It remains for the chamomile to make several "companions" and find a worthy place for the bouquet.

All seasonal flower beds include mosaic compositions from containers filled with earth. Wall panels are made from the covers. "Butterfly" or "ladybug" - in different versions.

Crafts from plastic bottles for the playground

The incredibly beautiful bird with plastic plumage is a whole "meadow of fairy tales". These are peacocks or firebirds, swans, pigeons, bullfinches and parrots. They are all made from empty PET bottles according to the general principle:

  1. Design an aesthetic bird head with eyes and beak;
  2. Build the torso and neck;
  3. String on plastic plumage;
  4. Equip with wings and tail;
  5. Place on the feet or fasten to the selected surface.

Plastic swans can be fenced off by a blue "lake" of inverted plastic bottles. Outlandish birds will decorate the trees in the corner of the garden, which is reserved for children's games. You can choose themed décor, such as a desert island with palm trees and parrots.

The material is collected for a whole year, but it is easier to connect neighbors and acquaintances to the idea of "ecological" cleaning. There are special containers for plastic in the yards - it's much easier to type.

Preparation for work - removing labels and glue residues from plastic bottles, it is important to rinse well and discard deformed material.

If vertical fences are being built, they need to be filled. Depending on the idea, sand, stone chips or dry soil are poured into PET bottles, burying 1/3 with the neck down.

For selected purposes, plastic of different elasticity is used. Heat treatment is required for filigree work (flowers). It is important not to overheat the strips.

For fairy-tale characters, additional painting is sometimes required. For example, it is better to cover pink piglets for a playground with an aerosol from a spray can, securing it with transparent acrylic paint.

Plastic bottles are great stuff in the right hands. Using them as a basis, it is easy to teach children a lesson in environmental education and fill a house or lot with practical things. With a creative approach, the color, volume and shape of plastic bottles will themselves suggest new ideas for an exciting creative process.

The amazing property of plastic bottles is that they endlessly find new uses. From them you can make not only all sorts of funny trinkets, if you have enough source material, then you can try to create something more serious. Furniture made from used plastic containers will come in handy both on the playground where children play, and in the garage or shed. It is possible to take it with you when you go to a picnic, and such furniture will not become a heavy burden for you, because it is easy to carry. It has recently become fashionable and popular to use furniture of this kind for outdoor presentations, as well as for outdoor events of various kinds. A master class on making beautiful furniture from the most ordinary plastic bottles, which are no longer needed, with our own hands - for clarity, we will consider some examples, talking about how this can be done.

Workshop on creating a breakfast table in nature from bottles

Such a convenient fixture can be built quickly and easily. And from the materials you only need a plastic tray and any four plastic containers. If the bottles are thin and long, then the product can be used as a coffee table.

The idea itself is very simple:

  • It is necessary to glue the bottles to the surface of the tray with the bottoms. These will be the legs of the table, and the tray itself will be the surface of the table.
  • To make the product look more attractive and have a nice look, the bottles can be covered with acrylic paints or wrapped with thin and strong twine or jute twine.
  • The tabletop can be decorated by gluing various objects to it. This technique is very popular and is called decoupage. It is necessary to use old photographs and postcards, unnecessary playing cards as objects. Pieces of cloth are also fine. For gluing, it is possible to use both ordinary glue and PVA glue. The tabletop can be laid out with flat small pebbles.

The fact that it will look just amazing, you can see in the photo.

If you get a taste, then build a bigger table.

Here you will have to act in approximately the same way. It is only necessary to select a more durable material as a table surface. A piece of plywood or, even better, a used countertop from an old table is fine.

In order for the table to turn out to be durable, more bottles are needed.

You need to act like this:

  • Give surfaces to the intended shape. The table can be made both rectangular and square. If there is a desire, even round.
  • Make the necessary markings on the back of the surface. In these places, use self-tapping screws to connect the bottles with caps to the back surface of the countertop.
  • To make the legs longer and stronger, you can glue the second row of bottles to the first row, so that the bottoms of the first row join the bottoms of the second. Use special glue for plastic or universal glue as glue.
  • If desired, containers can be painted or dyed.

We are trying to create with our own hands country furniture from plastic containers

Country furniture made of plastic containers is a great option. It is convenient, comfortable and attractive, and most importantly, it is mobile. It can be placed both in the house itself and on the veranda or in the gazebo. It is possible to build a single bed from this material, on which you can relax, placing it in the shade of the country garden. It is also convenient because it can be easily transferred from one place to another.

For making furniture, you will need from 600 to 800 plastic bottles.

After you have made simple types of furniture out of plastic. You can try to do something more complicated. Using the example of making an armchair, it will be convenient to show how bottles should be fastened, and this will come in handy for creating the most ambitious things. The starting material will be "logs" (modules) made of four plastic containers.

Stages of work:

  • After cutting the bottle in half, turn the top over and insert into the bottom.
  • The whole bottle should be inserted into this construction. Cutting into another bottle, put the lower one on top.
  • To fasten the module, it is wrapped with transparent tape.
  • Also, using adhesive tape (you can take cling film), we connect a large module.
  • Building up the modules in this way, we manufacture the details of the chair. Sew the chair cover from the selected fabric.
  • Put a cover on the product, placing a soft material under the seat (foam rubber or synthetic winterizer).

Video: "All will be kind" Issue 170. We make furniture with our own hands!

DIY furniture from plastic bottles is fashionable, environmentally important, modern. Billions have been spent on the development and marketing of plastic bottles for the transport of liquids. But after the container is empty, it is perceived as something superfluous, they rush to throw it away faster. It's wasteful! In addition, plastic and glass bottles, if thrown away, litter the environment for thousands of years to come, they never completely decompose, causing a lot of harm to nature. Our descendants, making excavations, will probably call the 21st century: “The era of plastic bottles”. One of the best options to keep your city clean is to reuse plastic in creative projects.

Ideas-2016

The problem faced by our civilization is already being successfully solved by designers. In 2016, in the UK, graduates of the Royal College of Art developed eclectic furniture from plastic bottles, with so-called "plastic joints". Today students give a master class to everyone. Designers used construction "heat guns" to work with plastic, which heat up to 300 degrees Celsius. Thus, plastic transforms individual wooden parts into solid forms, firmly holding them together.

The strength of plastic joints depends on the shape of the wood objects as well as the shape of the grooves in the wood. Deeper protrusions allow for a stronger grip of the plastic, individual parts of the structure are tightly soldered. In this way, you can, for example, repair old furniture or create original, completely new ones. "There is something satisfying, magical in this process" - says one of the students, demonstrating a master class - "Everyone comes across plastic bottles, can learn about a new way of using them, it inspires people to try something for themselves."

Canadian designer Aurora Robson has been creating her most amazing sculptures from junk, including furniture from plastic bottles, for 20 years. During this time, the artist seems to have gone through creative metamorphoses - each of her works is more complex and amazing than the previous one. The masterpiece created by Aurora is made from 20,000 plastic bottles. This is an incredibly delicate piece of interior art.

The whole world is at your feet!

Creative shelves

Furniture made from plastic bottles is a step into the future. You can make anything from plastic, approaching the manufacture of new things as if you were holding a cube from a children's designer.

Everyone can come up with something new on their own. Sometimes it is very difficult to solve storage problems in the house, but using plastic products, you can quickly create convenient containers for storing small items.

Transparent and bright containers can be easily weaved if you cut the bottle plastic into strips 2-5 cm wide.

A small shelf for storing baby things from plastic bottles can be made by simply cutting them off.

Royal sofa

The creation of sofas began in ancient Egypt, later these pieces of furniture were created for the royal family and other social elites. The frame of modern sofas is most often made of wood, some options include steel, but you can make a sofa using plastic bottles. And it will look no worse than the Egyptian if trimmed with beautiful fabrics! A master class on the manufacture of this furniture is very simple and accessible to everyone.

  • You will need a lot of bottles for making a sofa. It is important to collect items of the same size.
  • Before starting work, you need to prepare several rolls of duct tape, a sharp knife and scissors.
  • Plastic is a soft material, it needs to be strengthened. Therefore, the products are cut in a special way, one part is inserted into the other and glued with tape. Then the second part is inserted there.
  • So you need to make 4 bottle "bricks".
  • After that, the "bricks" can already be connected to each other and start making new ones.
  • If the sofa is made of plastic 2-liter bottles, then with a bottle diameter of 10 cm, for a sofa 2 m long, you need 20 "bricks" in length. Along the width, you can arrange 4-6 bundles of 4 "bricks".
  • The backrest and handrails are made from one row of bottles.
  • After the "skeleton" of the sofa is made, a synthetic winterizer or foam rubber is prepared, and then a cover is sewn.

If the sofa cover is sewn with high quality, then no one will guess that the furniture is made from ordinary and useless bottles.

Another advantage of such furniture is that it is very light and easy to move. Chairs can be made in the same way. A master class on making armchairs is very similar to any master class on sofas.

Soft pouf

Before creating a sofa or armchairs, it is worth trying to make the most uncomplicated piece of upholstered furniture - a pouf. It will take much less materials. To do it you need to prepare:

  • plastic bottles,
  • cardboard,
  • sticky tape
  • the cloth,
  • yarn,
  • knitting needles,
  • ruler,
  • scissors,
  • sewing machine.

To make the basis for the ottoman, circles of cardboard are cut out for the bottom and top. Plastic bottles are well washed and dried. Then they are carefully secured with duct tape. The ottoman is wrapped and sheathed with foam rubber or padding polyester. Then they sew from fabric or knit a beautiful cover out of wool. However, a cover for a pouf can be woven using plastic cut into thin ribbons.

"Sea" table

Plastic bottles can also be beautiful legs for furniture.

To make a chic coffee table, you will need to prepare:

  • 4 bottles,
  • leg-split,
  • glue,
  • sand,
  • large tray,
  • sea pebbles,
  • spray paint.

A master class on making such a table is no more difficult than any other. Each leg is made from two bottles. One bottle is cut off and the second is lengthened with it. For strength and stability, sand is poured into the resulting shape. The tray is covered with pebbles and painted with spray paint. After that, the legs are glued to the prepared tabletop.
