And when yesterday I did not quite cope with my stage, having entered two penalties, I was terribly upset. But then she came home and reminded herself that since she had promised her little sister personal gold, she was obliged to take it. I was tuned in to work on the firing lines. Indeed, in the mixed doubles it was the shooting that let me down. Kicking was difficult on the last loop, but I worked to the end. Even if she overtook Dinara Alimbekova from Belarus who started in front of me, who was my main rival, she still gave all the best. Somewhere I was already thinking about tomorrow's pursuit, trying to make a break. Yesterday, in the mixed doubles, I was just shocked by how many people came to the junior start. The stands are almost full and there are many supporters on the track. During the warm-up, you go and you don't hear how the sticks are knocking on the asphalt because of the noise of the audience. Insanely nice. "

But today I was rooting for the juniors. Worried about the girls, watched the race in full. I will not wonder whether I will win three gold medals here. I am still associated with aviation, but it is not accepted there. "

Biathlon in the 2017-2018 season will be rich in sporting events of various sizes. Spectators will see the performances of star athletes at the World Cup, European Championship, planetary championship and the European Open Cup. But the most important event of the publication will be the Olympic biathlon tournament. It will be held in the Korean city of Pyeongchang in February 2018. The competition will bring together the best biathletes in the world, including many Russian athletes!

Biathlon season schedule 2017 - 2018

2017 Summer Biathlon World Championships (24 - 27 August 2017)

The world championship in this unusual kind of traditional biathlon will take place in the Perm city of Tchaikovsky from 24 to 27 August. Competitions will be held among men, women and juniors. This is what the event calendar looks like:

August 25 - mixed relay (2 × 6 + 2 × 7.5);
August 26 - sprint (10 km for men / 7.5 for women and juniors);
August 27 - pursuit race (12.5 / 10 km).

However, viewers should not expect biathlon stars of the first magnitude. Top athletes at this time will be preparing for the competition, which will start at the end of autumn.

Open European Cup 2017/18 (24 November 2017 - 17 March 2018)

An annual series of biathlon competitions, consisting of 8 stages. The tournament is not very popular. But he also has his fans.

IBU Cup fans will be able to see their idols at the following stages:

Biathlon World Cup 2017/2018 (24 November 2017 - 25 March 2018)

This is one of the most prestigious tournaments. It is a series of 9 separate competitions. According to their results, the athletes with the highest number of points receive the Crystal Globe.

The upcoming World Cup will begin in November in the Swedish city of Östersund and will end next spring in the Russian city of Tyumen. This is what the tournament calendar looks like:

December 11 - 17: Annecy (France);
2 - 7 January 2018: Oberhof (Germany);

2018 European Biathlon Championships (22 - 28 January 2018)

Another European championship. In addition to representatives of Europe, the tournament will be attended by athletes from Mongolia, Australia, Brazil, Canada and many other non-European countries. Athletes will be able to test their strength during 4 January days:

January 24- individual race;
January 26- sprint;
January 27- pursuit race;
28 January- mixed relay.

In the "table of ranks" the competition is inferior in terms of prestige to the World Cup, the Olympics, and the World Cup. However, this is not a reason not to follow the European Championship. As part of the sporting event, Russians regularly perform, and they perform, I must say, excellent! According to the results of the last edition alone, our biathletes won 13 awards, 6 of which had the highest standard!

Olympic Biathlon Tournament 2018 (10 - 23 February 2018)

But this is the most important event of the season! The best of the best will clash in Korea. After all, Olympic medals are at stake, for which you can compete only once every four years!

The battles of biathletes will take place from 10 to 23 February. The detailed schedule is not yet known. Competitions of athletes, most likely, will be hosted by the ski and biathlon stadium "Alpenzia", which is located in Pyeongchang.

At the Sochi Olympics, Russian representatives won only one gold medal. At the upcoming games in Korea, our guys have every chance to improve the previous result!

Two winter capitals and one summer one, biathlon Ostrov and "Academy" are the main centers for major biathlon competitions in Russia.

Summer World Championship 2017

The Executive Committee of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) has decided that the 2017 Summer Biathlon World Championship will be held in the city of Tchaikovsky. For a young biathlon center in the Perm Territory, this will be the first international start, and for Russia it will be the fifth summer world championship. In 2000, these competitions were hosted by Khanty-Mansiysk, in 2006 and 2012 by Ufa, and in 2014 by Tyumen. In recent years, the Snezhinka winter sports center in Tchaikovsky has been the permanent venue for the Russian summer championships. The track and shooting range are of the highest standards here, the only problem is transport. There is no airport or train station, and therefore you will have to get there by ground transport from Izhevsk, located 90 km away.

World Cup Final (2016-2018)

The final stage of the World Cup will traditionally be held in Russia in the coming years. In 2016, the season will be closed by the well-known Khanty-Mansiysk, and in the next two years Tyumen will take over the baton. In the future, the rotation of the two Russian biathlon capitals will most likely continue, and each of them will be able to compete for one of the next world championships. We are not talking about two stages in one season yet, but the European weather is hinting louder and louder that it would be nice to start the season in Russia. There is little left to do - to defeat the IBU conservatism.

European Championship - 2016

However, before swinging to the final stage, Tyumen should hold a dress rehearsal in the coming February. One of the most magnificent stadiums in the world - "Pearl of Siberia" - will host the European Championship. We are constantly working on eliminating certain shortcomings and adjusting the arena to the highest level. The national teams of many countries in this offseason held training camps at the "Pearl", and recently the IBU commission headed by Anders Besseberg visited here. The program of the European Championship has undergone significant changes. Instead of the individual race, a mass start will be held, and the classic relay will be replaced by mixed ones. This will be the first official competition to compete for the single mixed relay title.

World Junior Championship 2017

The Yunost base in Ostrov (Pskov region) is one of the closest Russian biathlon centers to Europe. In 2013, for the first time, major international competitions for the IBU Cup were held here (in conjunction with the Estonian city of Otepää), and a year later, Ostrov will host the world championship among juniors and youths. In Russia, this competition will be held for the second time (in 2001, it was hosted by Khanty-Mansiysk), and for Pskov this is a serious challenge. Ruhpolding, Nove Mesto and Raubichi have set the bar for junior championships in the last decade, and it will not be easy for Ostrov to surpass them.

Race of Champions

In the near future, our country will not be left without major commercial launches. In the calendar of the upcoming season, Tyumen has booked a place for a megamass start in the framework of the Governor's Grand Prix and the Race of Champions, which is already loved by domestic fans and foreigners. The latter will take place not at the "Pearl of Siberia" biathlon, but at the "Geologist" football arena, which is more adapted for such events. The experience of last year showed that in the organization Tyumen did not yield to the Muscovites, and even surpassed in the excitement of fans.

Universiade-2019

It has long been known that Krasnoyarsk will host the 2019 Universiade, but what winter games are without biathlon, the most spectacular and brightest sport on the snow. Biathlon competitions will be hosted by the Biathlon Academy complex built in 2011. He received the B license necessary for this two years ago, but by the time of the competition, a small reconstruction will be required - in particular, the installation of a track lighting system. Due to the large time difference with Europe (five hours), biathlon starts will be held in the evening.

By tradition, I post a report after a trip with the Russian fan team about every day I spent at the biathlon! One of the tour participants, a devoted fan Larisa Manokhina from Samara, shared her impressions with us. Her favorite biathlete is a multiple champion and medalist of the Summer Biathlon and Olympic Games. Alexey Volkov, who once again confirmed the title of a well-aimed shooter of the Russian national team. Larisa has already traveled with us to one of the first stages of KM in Khanty-Mansiysk and Oberhof and is rightfully considered a full-fledged member of the Russian biathlon fan team! I think that it is correct to lay out the "view from the outside" and the assessment of what is happening on behalf of the tour participants, because it is the fans' emotions that are sincere and truthful! I have only slightly supplemented the text with various facts.

For me, the World Championship in Tchaikovsky began with the opening ceremony on 23 August, which was enchantingly held under the bright guidance of the program by Dmitry Guberniev. The ceremony began with a description of the Perm region from the ancient era and continued with a ballet accompanied by Tchaikovsky's symphonies and the appearance of standard-bearers with flags of the countries that were to compete in the tournament. The tour program for the members of the fan team began on August 25 at the railway station of the city of Izhevsk, where fans from different cities of the country arrived.

So why Chicago, you ask? - with these words Larisa introduces intrigue at the beginning of her report. And this is so affectionately called the biathlon complex in Tchaikovsky before his arrival, my favorite biathlete, and I liked this expression. So ... - if the trip is made in a warm company, and even under the organizational wing of our Annushka (as we used to call Anna Maslova), then this is already a guarantee of a fun, win-win travel option. So this time. The trip turned out to be quite eventful. I am amazed how we were even able to fit all of the following into three short days and two nights.

Each trip, of course, always begins with the most pleasant, meetings with good old friends-fans from different cities, whose friendship I always value and meet new biathlon friends! And how great it is to feel again all the goodies of the trip with our Anya!

All three days allocated for the World Championship were filled with competitive races from early morning (10:30 local time) until evening (18:00). So I had to work hard to accommodate everything that was conceived these days. And we did it!

The first day of the LCHM-2017, Friday

Great biathlon weather! Crazy energy mood!

Summer biathlon- this, of course, is not winter. I know that some fans do not pay attention to him at all. But I, just like in winter, felt the frantic energy of the stands, and the intensity of endless excitement on the track. And how can all this not be felt with such a show host as Ilya Trifanov and with his assistant Antosha Babikov, who simply did not allow the stands to sit still. Ilya fully gave all the necessary information during the race about each athlete, the performing team, and during the breaks when the athletes were on the track, he always turned to the fans, turned on the crowd and charged him with frantic energy!

But the races on the first day immediately made it clear that they would have to fight for victories, moreover, seriously and with full dedication. So, the price of victory in the mixed relay of an adult team was visible in the face of our finisher Anton, when he crossed the finish line and could not climb for a long time.

The team of Slovakia played a cruel joke with us with their misunderstanding in adding time. Therefore, Antosha had to strain to be sure. Or maybe it was a funny fan sitting behind us who jinxed it? After all, when Volkov was passing the baton to Shipulin, there was an advantage of 1: 10.02, and suddenly a cry from the rostrum tearing through the silence: "Give intrigue!" Anton made 3 mistakes. Balagur-fan caught himself: "No need for INTRIGA!" But everything was already done ... I had to work hard and give a lot of energy for the victory.

On the evening of the first day, we had a choice: to go to the Youth Palace to meet with Russian biathletes or to the nearby village of ITALMAS to visit the Legend of the 20th century - the great skier Galina Kulakova? And our group together made a choice in favor of the second event. They did not regret it at all.

An amazingly soulful place with its own unique atmosphere. On the second floor of the house there is the "Ski Queen" museum. We can say that for some time we plunged into the skiing world of the distant 70s and 80s. And to be in touch with the fate of such a great woman, believe me, is very powerful. During her 16 years as a member of the USSR national ski team, GA Kulakova became a 4-time Olympic champion, 9-time world champion and 39-time USSR champion. The museum presents a collection of medals by G.A.Kulakova, which consists of 146 awards, of which almost every second is gold! In sports victories, she still has no equal. Galina Alekseevna remains the greatest and strongest skier on the planet! In honor of her, a sports and recreation complex was named in Udmurtia and for the Olympics " Sochi-2014 "a personalized silver coin was issued ...

In the evening we then sat for a long time over a cup of tea in a cozy cafe of our hotel and heatedly discussed our first eventful day.

Second day of the 2017 Summer Biathlon World Cup, Saturday

The stands are overcrowded! Despite the small number of starting athletes, the dynamics of the races themselves were simply breathtaking. The most intense sprint seemed to be the men's sprint (probably because my favorite was running here!) After all, it would seem - here it is, Alexei Volkov's victory in his pocket! But Belarusian Chepelin literally took the lead on the last loop and was 3.4 seconds ahead of Alexei. Affected by the advantage of the subsequent start number. Well, this is a sport. And everyone wants to win! And we were heartily happy for Vladimir!

Juniors and juniors, of course, also fought on the track in an adult way. But they stood out for their greater openness and lordship. They were so childishly happy, responding to the cries of the fans, bowing, joking. As if with a subtext in my thoughts: "And now everyone knows us by our names!" Lerochka Vasnetsova always thanked her fans especially for a long time.

But the main news of the second day for all of us was the words from Ilya Trifanov about the end of the sports career of Svetlana Sleptsova. After all, it's no secret that many already thought that it was time for Sveta to hang the skis on a nail, but she tried hard, showed results and fought ... fought ..., prepared to participate in the Olympic Games-2018. And now ... the fans immediately diagnosed Sveta waiting for the baby to appear!

Already on that day, one could see the words with the inscription: "RAY OF LIGHT" in many places on the territory of the complex.

In between races at the stadium, everyone found something to their liking. Someone enjoyed the wonderful views of Tchaikovsky's nature, someone hunted for autographs of athletes.

But, as it seemed to me, the playground with the "Laser Biathlon" game complex was an integral part of the holiday all days. This is a wonderful game of chance. Of course, it is simply beyond the power of a real fan to pass by and not try it. During the break between the races, the fan team organized fan races between fan clubs from other cities. The fan-team under the same name of the team competed among 4 teams and took an honorable second place in time! Each participant could feel like a biathlete for a moment! and shoot and run penalty circles! Instead of medals, the encouragement was delicious sweets, great mood and enthusiasm for the rest of the day!

Saturday promised to end with the awarding of medalists for the first two days in the main square of the city. We hurried there. And before the beginning of those solemn minutes, our fan group "by personal agreement" managed to separately congratulate our most titled biathletes with excellent results. Congratulations, a photo for memory, and we are the happiest fans!

The ceremony itself on the square looked beautiful, gorgeous, solemn! The organizers did their best! The anthem of Russia was sounded five times. And on the square at this time, well, there was simply nowhere for an apple to fall!

I wanted to continue such a wonderful evening ... After all, BIATHLON is, first of all, a holiday for us! Therefore, I wanted to spend these moments as much as possible so as to take away the most stormy memories! And so, the voices blown up in the stands, we have already decided to finish off in a cozy karaoke-cafe-bar with a narrow circle of our fan-group! That evening, we were accompanied by the Olympic Champion Evgeny Redkin and the mother of the Olympic Champion Alexei Volkov, who, like the fans in the stands, merged to the soulful music, singing heartily!)

And of course, continue the night at a meeting with the skillful songwriter of our time "Voice of Biathlon" Dmitry Guberniev! Sing songs from the heart!

A killer festive atmosphere reigned everywhere! And even the absence of a taxi for the morning road to the hotel did not spoil our mood! We walked more than 3 kilometers with pleasure! get high!

The final day of the LCHM-2017 in Tchaikovsky, Sunday

New - last - Championship day! And new emotions! The races of the last day in general swept with lightning speed. Yes, this is a fleeting pursuit race. The main rivals of our guys were Bulgarian Anev, Belarusian Chepelin, Slovak Hasilla. But they couldn't do anything about the tenacity of our guys!

Well, for women, Svetlanka simply could not stumble. She deservedly became the absolute champion of this Championship, giving all her last strength on this track, happy for her!

All Russian athletes went to the start with an inscription on their face or hand: "LUCH OF Sveta". So they saw off the titled biathlete, our Olympic champion!

The same inscriptions could be seen on many fans ...

The teammates recorded a video with words of support for Svetlana and the highlights of her sports career were shown on the big screen throughout the stadium! Svetlana expressed her kind words of gratitude to the coaches, fans and teammates, and to the entire stadium she timidly announced the main reason for the end of her sports career: "I will soon become a mother," she said with tears in her eyes. The entire stadium applauded and sobbed at the same time from this touching farewell of the athlete of the strong era of Russian women's biathlon.

It's always a pity when athletes leave the big sport ... I remember that Anya Bogaliy was touchingly escorted to the 2012 Summer World Cup in Ufa ... But that was a different story ..
We will miss Sveta's smile, her interview ... But she managed to leave the sport with dignity and beauty!

And, undoubtedly, the decoration of the last day of the Championship was such an unusual meeting in terms of format - our two groups of fans, united into one whole, loudly called Dmitry Guberniev with verses!

"Dima, Dima, don't pass PASS!", "Dima, don't pass by!" We thanked him for his work and sang the converted ditties to him! "The voice of biathlon" laughed for a long time at such an unexpected "shot" and, without exception, signed autographs and took a photo.

Summing up all the events of the biathlon weekend, I can say that the holiday was a success! I would like to say THANK YOU TO ALL ATHLETES !, as well as to the organizers of this wonderful event ...
