Kate middleton's blue polka dot dress. The Princess and the Pea: Diana, Kate and Meghan's favorite print. The choice of the Windsor princesses

Ever since the first joint exits of Kate Middleton as the official girlfriend of Prince William, her passionately with Diana. Something tells us that Catherine herself, both already in the status of a duchess, and before the wedding with her royal chosen one, was looking for inspiration in the style of her mother-in-law. It is worth recalling that even if some of Diana's outfits from the 80s now seem ridiculous, her contribution to the very image of the monarchy is difficult to underestimate. Compared to other members of the British royal family, Diana was a bright and memorable person, which is why fashion exhibitions and auctions of her outfits are still dedicated to her.

The Duchess of Cambridge, too, will certainly go down in the history of the British monarchy, but in order to enter it with fewer fashionable punctures, she sometimes "spies" on Diana. Or is it in search of flawless looks for special occasions?

Cell

The "cage" print in different decades "migrated" from style to style. Pay attention to how both heroines clearly fell into the trends of their eras: Diana chose a suit with a broad-shouldered jacket, and Catherine chose a coat, cut like a dress, according to the figure.

Floral print

Floral dresses with a high neck and a long skirt are just perfect to create the image of an exemplary wife or just a positive girl in everything. More than 30 years apart, Diana and Katherine have been sending their fans the same messages through their outfits.

Red dress

So many mothers in the world do not even think too much about what outfit they will wear when leaving the hospital. But Katherine's stylists or she herself did not just think, but found parallels for the sake of getting a guaranteed news occasion: the dresses of Katherine and Diana on the statements were just twins!

Houndstooth pattern

Diana often wore the “houndstooth” print so popular in those days, choosing a suit and a long coat, and always very successfully. Katherine dared to experiment with this print once, and it turned out so-so: the accessories categorically did not fit the coat, as if there should have been another thing in its place.

Blue dress

When you don't know what to wear to your own engagement, just wear what matches the color of the ring. Perhaps this is the logic that Princess Diana and Kate Middleton adhered to in their times: their ring was with sapphire and diamonds, and their outfits were dark blue.

Polka dot dress

Another example is not in favor of Catherine's stylist team. Please note that the drawing is presented exactly the same, but how much the impression is changed by the accessories and the style of the dress itself: Diana seems from the side of a real lady, and Catherine makes peas look like a schoolgirl at a holiday.

Evening dress with belt

The very moment when a real princess puts on a princess dress from a fairy tale. Diana looked luxurious in her ruffled dress with an accentuated waist, and the same can be said for Katherine, who opted for a similar cut but in the same color.

Red suit with skirt

In the 90s, "making a waist" on jackets and drawing too feminine forms was completely unnecessary, so the top of Diana's suit is only slightly fitted, and Catherine's jacket has a contrasting black belt and a once fashionable peplum ruffle.

Plaid coat

Again the cage and again almost one hundred percent falling into the image of the predecessor on the part of Catherine's stylists. Both coats are similar in design, cut and shoe choices to complete the set.

Peas

And again an extract, and again similar outfits. We hope that Katherine's stylists deliberately looked for comparisons with Diana, therefore we chose a dress for her with the same pattern as Diana's at her first photo session at the exit from the hospital. The trick turned out to be effective, so, obviously, with the third child of the Duchess, they resorted to playing on similarities again.

And Prince William is continuing the large-scale charitable campaign Heads Together, the main goal of which is to destroy the stereotype that people should hide their mental problems. According to the initiators of the charity campaign, many people do not seek help from specialists and do not want to admit that they experience mental health problems, for fear of being ridiculed. It is this fear that destroys families and leads to other unfortunate consequences.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Essex High School in the south-east of England today. The Prince and Duchess taught the teens how to deal with the pressure in life.

When Keith and William appeared at the event, they were greeted by Essex Vice Lord Jonathan Hughes, but unexpectedly for everyone in the audience, the 72-year-old man fell. Prince William immediately ran to Jonathan and helped him up. Fortunately, Hughes was not injured in the fall.

The guests were very frightened, but the culprit of the commotion assured the audience that everything was all right with him. A little later, William, Keith and Jonathan Hughes were already laughing at everything that happened.

Journalists have already joked that Hughes fell when he saw a spicy slit on Kate Middleton's dress. Note that the Duchess chose a blue dress with black and white polka dots for the event, which she complemented with nude pumps, and looked very elegant - not in vain her the other day

Kate Middleton really knows how to choose royal tiaras, but it seems that she prefers one particular one: the Cambridge Lover's Knot. Attending the state banquet, Kate, in the company of Prince William and Queen Elizabeth II, looked like a real Cinderella.

Middleton opted for a blue evening gown from the house of Alexander McQueen, and the selection of precious accessories indicates that William's wife loves the same pieces from the royal collection as her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

This is not the first time Kate Middleton wears the tiara that Queen Elizabeth II gave Diana for her wedding. The late Princess very often wore a jewel from the Queen Mary collection. Kate seems to be inspired by her mother-in-law, who died in a car accident, and when choosing outfits for publication.

Kate may be royalty, but when it comes to fashion and style, she's no different from us. Seriously - she repeats her images and several times even dared to wear something that the high society would not look so approvingly at if the spouse of one of the heirs was not being discussed.

But here's another characteristic of Kate: everything she wears has full taste and style. The Duchess looks confident enough in all of her looks, dressing to the place wherever she is and no matter how much she stands out from the crowd.

Kate's exquisite taste is directly related to her self-confidence. And although we may not always be able to afford what this noble person wears, she still has a lot to learn.

  1. A little black dress is never a bad decision.

  59. In the "real lady" style, it is not possible to overdo it with anything.

Since Meghan Markle became the official bride, and now the wife of Prince Harry, everyone around is doing nothing but comparing her to Kate. Moreover, not with Kate Middleton, as she was in the first year of marriage, but with the Duchess of Cambridge, into whom she transformed over 7 long years of life within the royal family. And, of course, first of all, their styles and their relevance are subjected to comparison.

Fans of comparison constantly omit the fact that Kate is English and entered the Windsor family very smoothly, it took her 9 years to wait for an offer from Prince William. And since then she has been living and communicating with the royal family for 7 years, knows all the preferences, unspoken rules and unwritten "protocols" (to which royal observers often appeal). While Meghan Markle found herself in a completely unfamiliar world of the British aristocracy, which is called "with a running start." And she sorely lacks knowledge and experience. But she tries very hard.

At common events, the royal ladies of the inner circle almost always look as if they or their stylists have a common chat in WhatsUpp and coordinate outfits, agreeing on everything in advance. There was even a joke in the profile community ru-royalty.livejournal.com that Megan had not yet been included in the general chat, so she dresses up inappropriately. In fact, over the years of his life at the Court, a flair for how to dress is developed, depending on the composition of the participants and the theme of the event.

Women in the royal family knew how to coordinate their style of clothing even in the era before the total Internet. In the photo - Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, Queen Mother (center), Princess Anne, princes Charles and Edward at the residence of the Queen Mother on her 90th birthday, 1990

At the same time, many have forgotten how Kate missed her clothes in the early years of her marriage. Criticizing Meghan for being too "dark" at the christening of Prince Louis, it would be good to remember Kate's epic blunder at the celebration of the anniversary of the reign of Elizabeth II. The Duchess of Cambridge then dressed in red, and it was not very clear whether she intended to outshine all the ladies present, including the hero of the occasion, or tried to mimic the accessories of the royal boat on which the event was held (all its upholstery, armchairs, carpets and even flowers and the standards were exactly the same color).

The same red dress, the color of which for a moment unbalanced even the imperturbable Queen (and the photographer managed to catch this facial expression in the frame)

Kate at the anniversary of the reign of Elizabeth II in 2012

... practically merged with the deck, flowers, flags, but in a bright contrast with all the ladies

Against this background, the black Dior outfit at the RAF celebration or the mustard Givenchy at the christening of the little prince are just innocent flaws, because Megan was just trying to be not the most noticeable. I just understood it in my own way, due to my, for the most part, Hollywood experience. And only time and the goodwill of the rest of the family will help her with these nuances (which, to their credit, they fully demonstrate, unlike the press and social networks).

What is so remarkable about the pair appearance of the two duchesses on the 12th day of the Wimbledon tournament? The fact that these two women were authentic. They did not try to "coordinate" outfits for the sake of public tastes, did not try to imitate each other. On the contrary, each showed its own individual style and fashion preferences.

Kate is a supporter of the lady-like style, the most feminine, without a hint of androgyny. Peas have been her favorite print for many years (a year ago, by the way, she also wore a white dress with large black Dolce & Gabbana peas at Wimbledon). Only ruffles on the dress indicate that Kate remembers and follows trends, but only to the extent that they fit into her ideas of beauty.

Megan chose the right pants and a loose blouse. She declared her love for such a fashionable combination while still in the status of the prince's bride. This was especially loud at the evening of the Endeavor charity foundation, where Megan arrived in a black Alexander McQueen trouser suit. At first it seemed that, having married, she tried to fit in with the rest of the ladies of the royal family, who, as a rule, do not wear trousers at official events (the exception is Countess Sophie of Wessex, whom Megan was repeatedly advised to look up to). But now, almost 2 months after the wedding, Megan returns to the style of clothing that she understands, is comfortable and, let's be frank, much more suits her.

You can play "my fair lady" as much as you like, put on hats and fit into sheath dresses, but Megan has a specific figure and while she is on the same wavelength with her body, while she puts on what she is comfortable in, her images are beautiful. This is exactly the Duchess of Sussex who was in the royal box at the Wimbledon tournament last Saturday. Wide trousers with a high waist, a loose a la mens shirt in trendy vertical stripes - both from the Ralph Lauren Collection sat on Megan amazingly, emphasizing her fragility and grace, and her modern sense of style, and her feminist views at the same time. ...

Putting on each one that maximally corresponds to her inner "I", both duchesses showed everyone that they are so different that it makes no sense to compare them with each other.

And if you suspect that such a contrast was a deliberate "action", then rather, on the part of Megan. Indeed, for Kate, Megan's style is still a mystery. And to understand what the Duchess of Cambridge can wear to the tournament, it is enough to look at the photographs of past years. By the way, it is worth remembering that Megan wore her first elegant trouser suit Alexander McQueen exactly on the evening when pregnant Kate came out in a ball gown at the royal reception in Oslo. Coincidence? And if not? In this case, I would like to wish Megan to continue to "contrast" with Kate. The style of the Duchess of Cambridge, Duchess of Sussex, is completely inappropriate. As well as vice versa. And opposites, as they say, attract. They just have nothing to share. They are both beautiful.
