Prefabricated models star assembly without glue airplanes. Kits for assembling scale models without glue. And beautiful models

The prototype is very attractive due to its ascetic appearance. There is enough information on the Yak-3. But with the models, things are still not so rosy, at least in ’72...

The assembly began, as usual, with “stuffing” the cockpit with etching from Part and making levers. The instrument panel was optimized for the model from Smer, therefore it turned out to be too large and was cut into three segments, and the photographic plate of the instruments is generally from the La-5... The armored seat cup was milled to an acceptable thickness.

On the upper surfaces of the wings there are extensive sink marks, which are filled with layers of cyacrine glue and then tediously sanded. Then the niches for the flaps are milled out, the flaps themselves are made, and all this is “ennobled” by etching.

Also, unpleasant cracks and sink marks were revealed on the bottom of the wings and on the rudder, which were filled with layers of cyacrine glue and sanded. I was careful to use nitro putty, which is easier to process, so as not to “eat through” the very thin plastic.

All steering surfaces are sanded with imitation canvas.
BANO made of transparent plastic with subsequent polishing.

After all these preparatory operations, the cockpit and landing gear niches were painted. AKAN 83040 paint is highly lightened.

The fuselage came together with a bang, but the wing fairings (the lines of joints with the wing “lie” on them) had to be spilled with cyacrine and tediously sanded again...
To make an antenna loop, a hole with a diameter of 0.4 mm was drilled in the keel, a wire loop was twisted, glued in and then filled with cyacrine. The place is thin and uncomfortable, but I couldn’t think of anything better...

Then painted with nitra AKAN 81009, 82038 and 83016. All paints without bleaching.

The chassis was assembled without problems, the two-link links and shields were etched, and “hydraulic hoses” made of wire were added. Wheels from Elf.

The decal is given for two wonderful color options, but was received with a white color offset. The placement of elements according to the instructions is very arbitrary, it is better to focus on the photo, fortunately they exist.

I chose the side of Marcel Albert, but for him the “boom” turned out to be greatly oversized (cut into several parts, then docked on the model).
The drawings themselves can be welded well with alcohol, but the varnish layer has become “bubbly” and “refused to stretch.” I had to carefully cut it with the blade of a model knife...
The “arrow” on the right softened too much in alcohol and “curled”, an unpleasant joint...

Noticeable shifts in the white elements of the decal are brushed with water-soluble white AKAN. The tricolor on the propeller spinner is water-soluble AKAN paints.

Machine gun barrels made of honey. needles, exhaust pipes are drilled out, chassis “soldiers” are made of wire.

I didn’t go overboard with the final finishing with a “dry brush”, lightly on the “riveting” and the edges of the “duralumin”. In the photos of the prototypes, signs of wear are almost invisible.
To “age” and “complicate” the color shades, directed sanding of the surfaces of the wings using a finishing semi-matte nitro varnish was applied. I'm still trying out the technology.

In general, the model is very similar to the prototype and if you don’t bother too much, it’s easy to assemble.
But there are annoying drawbacks.
While the incorrect shape of the wing tips (which I didn’t immediately pay attention to and later didn’t bother to redo) can be done without problems, the wing profile is too thin and the sides of the rear fuselage are too flat (and archival photos clearly show that there is a noticeable radius there) ) is very problematic to fix...

Happy modeling to all!

- your guide to the world of scale modeling!

The month of November is slowly coming to an end, gradually bringing us closer to the last month of 2017.

And now is the time when we need to take stock and make plans for the future.

Well, let's remember the Zvezda company catalog for this year. And let's see what they offer us in the new 2018.

Personally, in my very subjective opinion, the production plan of our leading domestic manufacturer of prefabricated scale models can be considered completed.

And this has a special meaning.

When reviewing the catalog last year, I designated it under the motto “We select the tails - we debug production.”

After all, for a long time, Zvezda was not so much making new models as “chasing its shadow.” Constantly doing in the new year what you didn’t manage to do in the past. And even much earlier.

It was not for nothing that the saying “they wait three years for what was promised” fully applied to the Zvezda company.

But still, the gap was regularly reduced.

And this year it has reached its minimum.

At this point, it has become clear that only one model from the 2017 catalog will remain unfinished. This is Ural 4320.

Although I expected it. that it will be completed in December.

But as it is...

And yesterday the Star presented the catalog Prefabricated models 2018 .

STAR COMPANY CATALOG FOR 2018

Prefabricated models 2018: Catalog: Star: View online

NEW: FOR CHILDREN ASSEMBLY WITHOUT GLUE

NEW: AVIATION 1/72

Prefabricated models Zvezda 2018: New Aviation 1/72

NEW: AVIATION 1/144

Prefabricated models Zvezda 2018: New items in aviation 1/144

NEW: ARMOR 1/35

Prefabricated models Star 2018: New armor 1/35

NEW: ARMOR 1/72

Prefabricated models Zvezda 2018: New armor 1/72

NEW: FLEET

CONCLUSIONS:
I got a good impression from this catalog (or rather from the new products offered).

And there are two reasons for this:

1) The number of new products within categories (in my opinion) is distributed correctly. First BTT 1/35-1/72, then aviation 1/72-1/144. And quite a bit of fleet. Just for excuses. Most of the modelers are armored cars, and only then come aviators.

2) For the first time, Zvezda applied the principle of producing not only new models, but also modifications. If you make modifications, you can add good new products to the range of models with much less effort.

For example, this is exactly how HB/Trump operates. There are about a dozen variations of the Corsair in the HB catalogue.

Now the time has come for Zvezda to use this very successful marketing ploy.

I am also pleased with the emergence of a category of models for children (assembly without glue). Models of this class are also widespread in the catalogs of foreign manufacturers. In addition, these babies are interesting to collect not only for children.

If you haven’t tried yourself in this matter yet, be sure to correct this shortcoming.

Great time.

In addition, the end result may not be a child’s model at all.

Now a little about the new products themselves...

There is no point in talking specifically about the Su-27UB, modern tankers and Armata TBMP. Information about their implementation has been available for a long time.

3D models have already been shown for both of these models.

Although this does not in any way detract from the merits of these models.

Personally, I will be happy to assemble the Armata TBMP from Zvezda.

But still, I was more pleased with the appearance of the T-90MS and Treminator-2 models in the catalog.

Now there is no point in buying models from Trumpeter and Tiger Model.

But the most luxurious thing will probably be the appearance of a completely new model of the T-34 tank. After all, those models that Zvezda has in its arsenal have long been outdated. Although at the same time they did not sell less.

Also, in my opinion, it is very good that they began to develop a line of modifications of the Il-76. It's especially nice to see the A-50.

In general, this catalog offers us a well-thought-out, clearly verified system based on the right marketing approach.

Sort of Golden mean .

And understanding this fact puts me in a great mood for the new year.

Now you can calmly wait for its arrival, gradually stocking up on finances for the selected new items.

Don’t forget to place pre-orders in the online store armata-models.ru, which offers us excellent “pumped up” versions of these new products.

That's all for today!
Good luck to you!
And wonderful models!
