Casserole with potatoes and bacon. Potato casserole with bacon

Step 1: prepare the ingredients.

Peel the onion and cut into thin feathers, while set aside.
Remove the skin from the potatoes, cut out all the eyes, rinse the root crops thoroughly, and then cut them into circles of medium thickness (about 0.5 cm).
Cut the smoked bacon into cubes or thin short strips.
Grate the cheese on a medium grater.

Step 2: boil the potatoes.

Steam the potato slices or, if you want it faster, in salted water (lower the potatoes only after the water boils). You need to cook until soft, but the pieces of vegetables should not fall apart, so watch out.

Step 3: Fry Bacon and Onions.

Fry the bacon in a dry frying pan, and when the fat has melted out of it, add the onion as well. Cook everything over medium heat until the onion is soft and glassy in appearance. And don't forget to stir frequently.

Step 4: prepare the filling.

Set aside a handful of cheese to garnish the top of the casserole. Mix the rest with egg and sour cream. Add freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste. Mix well so that the egg is properly combined with sour cream.

Step 5: Cook the Bacon Potato Casserole.

Lay down 1/2 part whole potato to the bottom of the baking dish. Top with fried bacon, spreading evenly. And then the rest of the potatoes.

Top the casserole with sauce, sprinkle with grated cheese and pepper more if you like.

Place the potato casserole with bacon in a preheated 190 degrees oven on 20 minutes. During this time, the top will be baked, and the cheese will melt and turn into a delicious crust.

Step 6: Serve Bacon Potato Casserole.

Serve hot potato casserole. You can immediately after preparation, but it is better the next day, after it has stood in the refrigerator for a while. A casserole prepared according to this recipe will go well with some fresh or sauerkraut salad.

We will need:

  • Potato -5-6pcs.
  • Bacon -200g.
  • Plum butter - 50g.
  • Cheese - parmesan 50-70g.
  • Form for baking - 2 pcs.
  • A mixture of peppers.

Cut the potatoes into thin circles, rub the cheese on a grater.
It is good for this business to have a “brick” style vessel made of refractory glass or metal. I don't have that style. So I took the form of foil.
I took two, because one seemed thin to me. I line the form with bacon so that one part covers the bottom, and the second hangs down from the outside like spaniel ears.

I spread a layer of potatoes on the bacon, a few pieces of butter and grated cheese on top. And repeat until you run out of potatoes.

Lay the bacon on the top layer of potatoes and cover with the hanging edges of the bacon.

Cover the cake pan tightly with foil to prevent evaporation.

Well, here's the result.

Delicious, but sooo spicy!
